American Idol 2024 Auditions 5 Contestants List (Photos)
American Idol’s 22nd season continues on ABC Sunday March 24. The Auditions 5 episode includes the last of the hopefuls whom judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan auditioned amid a hometown theme. The show travelled to each of the judges hometowns to audition contestants, in addition to Los Angeles and Nashville. Next Sunday, it’s the Hollywood Round, followed by Showstoppers and The Top 24 (See the schedule HERE)
The hometowns included Leesburg, Georgia (Luke), Tuskegee, Alabama (Lionel) and Santa Barbara, California (Katy).

Bethany Teague
Bethany Teague is a singer and child care teacher from Gastonia, North Carolina. She has gone viral on Tik Tok with multiple covers including one of Adele’s “Rolling in The Deep” which has racked up 2 million views and nearly 220K likes. In an interview with ABC11, it is revealed she lost her mother in 2017 after she gave birth.

Brant McCullough
Brant, who also sometimes goes by the name Michael Brant, is a junior in high school in Kinston, Alabama, is a football player and country singer. He is just starting out, with very few videos on Tik Tok, but his cover of Sam Barber’s “Straight and Narrow” got nearly 132K likes and racked up 610K views. Country singer Ernest recently pulled him out of the crowd and invited him onto the stage at his concert.

Camila Galavis
Camila, a singer from Miami, was 14 at the time of her audition as she just recently turned 15. She is Juan Pablo Galavis’s daughter who was The Bachelor on Season 18 and placed in 7th place on the 9th season of The Bachelorette. A brief preview has been shown of Juan Pablo and Katy Perry flirting, and Juan Pablo crashing the audition. There are very few videos of Camila singing online. There are only a few where she is singing along to songs with her dad in the car.

Carmen Olivia
Olivia Hirsch known as Carmen Olivia, a 16-year-old from Bethel, Connecticut, has had a few viral moments at her high school talent show including one of her singing Idol alum Lauren Spencer Smith’s “Fingers Crossed” where the music cuts out, but she and some classmates carried on through. According to the Connecticut Insider, for her audition, she will be singing Raye’s “Oscar Winning Tears.” She met Raye recently at her concert where she sang the song.

Cate Gartner
Cate, an 18-year-old from Aledo, Texas carries herself similar to Season 20 runner-up HunterGirl and early Season 18 favorite Lauren Mascitti in that she has a very developed and mature country sound. Cate is also versatile, as she even has covers of pop star songs by Olivia Rodrigo. Her original “The Place That I Call Home,” off of her debut EP Fairytale Endings, is a true story about being a teen mother.

Garrison Bennett
Garrison is a 19-year-old singer from Statesville, North Carolina. It appears he gigs around the area, but there isn’t much of him singing on social media. In a preview on Blavity, Garrison, who is a Lionel Richie look alike, sings “Superstition” for his audition.

Isaiah Case
Isaiah Case, who appears to now be going by the single name of CASE, is a singer and worship leader from Jacksonville, Illinois. He is a versatile singer whose style features elements of blues, rock and country. He ties in his spiritual background as well. His debut single, “What Could I Do” came out in February. In an article on ABC7, it is revealed he first auditioned for the show at 17.

Keegan James
Keegan James is a soulful singer from New York who recently moved to Jacksonville, Florida. He also has had a few somewhat viral comedic Tik Toks. He has appeared on a number of shows in New York and was a professional disco roller skater at a limited engagement in New York City called Discoasis.

Jacy Matthews
17-year-old Jacy Matthews, a singer-songwriter from Alabama, may be a familiar face to you. She was on The Voice Season 19 as a part of the trio, Worth The Wait, with her sister, Mia and mom, Tara. The group was eliminated during the Playoffs, but they have gone on to perform at places like the Grand Ole Opry. Mia, her older sister, also auditioned. See her bio below. It appears Tara, their mom will also join them for a segment of their auditions. (Worth the Wait performed at The Voice Double Chair Takeover event at Ole Red in Nashville late last week. Jayna Elise
Jayna, a 22-year-old from Washington D.C., is making her second go-around on American Idol after she competed last season and made it to the Top 55 showstopper round where the show cut her. She was a fan favorite due to her big heart in Hollywood week. Before Idol, Jayna competed on America’s Got Talent, Season 11 in 2016 where she was a golden buzzer recipient and a SemiFinalist. Her post-Idol run song titled “Open Fire” has rock influences.

Jordan Anthony
Jordan, a singer from Perth, Australia, competed on The Voice Australia, Season 8 in 2019 when he was just 14 years old and finished in 4th place. He also represented Australia in Junior Eurovision in 2019 where he placed 8th with his song titled “We Will Rise.” He has released a few originals including pop ballads “Loving U is Easy” and “Favourite Part.”

Julia Gagnon
Julia from Maine, is a versatile singer who performs pop, soul, theater, and folk music. She’s had a few viral Tik Tok’s including one where she sings “When I Look At You” in her dorm which racked up 2.3 million views and 745K likes. This past summer she won Central Maine Idol which had a $10,000 prize. During the contest, she beat out fellow finalist Sierra Harris who was a contestant on American Idol last season. Julia has released original music under her duo titled Chocolate Milk including the folk song “Fall”. Her audition has been previewed in a few different spots and it appears she wows the judges with “Ain’t No Way.”

LiLiana
LiLiana Tovar Dalton is an indie pop singer-songwriter from San Antonio, Texas. She has had an original on her Tik Tok account titled “Nicotine” go somewhat viral with 1 million views and 176K likes. Her first original release to streaming platforms titled “wish u cheated” has 307K streams to date. Her audition of original song “5 Percent” which Katy Perry said felt like one long text message was previewed by American Idol and wowed the judges.

Mia Matthews
19 year-old Mia Matthews, a singer from Alabama, is a member of the Country trio, Worth the Wait, who competed on The Voice season 19. Her sister Jacy also auditions (see above). Her voice transcends genres, but she sings mainly country. Mia’s debut original song, “Parking Lot” is a storytelling singer-songwriter meets country vibe.

Ricky Moyer
Ricky Moyer is a pop singer from Levittown, Pennsylvania, who also sings musical theater. He graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a degree in musical theater, and starred in productions of American Idiot and The Wild Party. In an interview with the Philly Burbs, he reveals he was at a crossroads between pursuing a music career versus a theater career when he auditioned.

Sophia Ava Maria
Sophia from Las Vegas, is one of the youngsters of the competition as she only recently turned 15. She sings everything from pop to country to blues. At the age of 13, as an NBA Summer League finalist, Sophia performed the U.S. National Anthem as well as the Canadian National Anthem at NBA Summer League games. In an interview with ABC KTNV, she revealed that when she auditioned she was only 14, and she thought she was too young to qualify for American Idol.

Spencer Wells
Spencer is a 24-year-old soulful singer and former football player from Pearland, Texas. He was a former division 1 athlete being a tight end on the University of Houston team. In an interview with ABC13, he reveals that he entered a karaoke contest while his dad was getting a haircut at the next door bar, and he won it. One of the judges had past connections with American Idol which led to his audition.

Ty’esha is a 22-year-old R&B singer who is an aspiring plus size model from Huntsville, Alabama. She doesn’t have a ton of professional singing content, but she has posted videos of her tackling vocal challenges displaying an impressive range.

Victoria Johnson
Victoria is a 16-year-old singer with a big soulful voice from Boca Raton, Florida. Recently, she won “South Florida Kids Got Talent.” She has trained with social media vocal coach Jodie Langel. Langel is a popular social media personality who has racked up 1.3 million followers by posting videos of her coaching students, including Victoria. One of Jodie’s most popular videos features Victoria singing “I Will Survive.” It has garnered 3 million views and 437K likes.

Yvan Vucina
