The American Idol Top 26 will sing for your votes on Sunday April 16 and Monday April 17 on ABC at 8 pm ET/PT.

The show filmed the round at the Disney Aulani Resort & Spa in Hawaii. The singers split into two groups. Thirteen contestants sang on each night and featured Celebrity mentors. Allen Stone on night 1 (Sunday), and Noah Cyrus on night 2.

The Season 21 Top 26 filmed in Hawaii in January, shortly before American Idol premiered on February 19. Spoilers came soon after, with eyewitnesses in Hawaii reporting the details.

Reported song choices are still technically Spoilers, but no reason to keep them secret at this point. But because Idol has not officially confirmed them, I won’t post them here. Additionally, American Idol uploaded photos of Paige Anne, confirming that she DID make the Top 26. At the end of the Showstopper round, fans were left believing that she went home after losing a head to head sing-off with Megan Danielle. But after a contestant mysteriously left the competition after advancing to the Top 26, Paige is officially in.

America will vote Sunday and Monday night. On Sunday April 23, the Top 20 will be revealed. That episode films ahead on April 19. Click this link for studio ticket details.

History of American Idol in Hawaii

American Idol began the Aulani tradition in 2019 for season 17–season 2 on ABC. That year, the entire Top 40 travelled to the island resort to sing for the judges and a crack at the Top 20.

The Top 40 Showcase round once again took place the following year, in 2020, filmed in December before the COVID-19 pandemic shut productions down. The remaining episodes were shot virtually. With the pandemic ongoing in 2021, producers auditions went virtual, while studio filming and the live shows stayed in California.

For season 20 in 2022, American Idol once again took the show on the road, filming the Top 24 round in Hawaii. Ditto the current season.
