American Idol is promoting Hollywood Week, which traditionally takes place in December. Season 21 will be no different, as On Camera Audiences is getting ready to fill the studio with fans for a taped show taking place on December 11.
The site has not posted specific details about the taping yet, but On Camera Audiences will contact fans who sign up for an alert. Click HERE for more info! As tapings have required in the past, attendees will need to prove they have received the COVID-19 vaccination.
Last year, for it’s 20th season, American Idol taped the Showstopper round on December 10. Fifty-nine contestants competed in the round, but that number varies from year to year. Hollywood Week, which features duets and solo rounds, will take place in the days before American Idol tapes the Showstopper round, so keep your eyes peeled!
“On December 11th, American Idol continues its iconic Hollywood Week tradition”
“Would you like to see incredible live performances from music’s next big superstars!?,” says a blurb on the website. “On December 11th, American Idol continues its iconic Hollywood Week tradition from the Los Angeles Theater, celebrating its 21st birthday (season six on ABC) with music industry legends, judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and host Ryan Seacrest to help discover America’s next singing sensation. American Idol Turns 21!”
“The groundbreaking series launched the careers of superstars Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Katharine McPhee, Jordin Sparks, Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, Gabby Barrett, and Scotty McCreery, among many others.”
During December, probably around the time Hollywood Week begins, American Idol will announce the winner of the Platinum Ticket contest. Fans could choose between 3 contestants, Elijah McCormick, Matt Wilson and Haven Madison, presented during the American Music Awards for votes. The show will announce the winner on their social media accounts.
