American Idol 2016 Top 6 Predictions and Poll Results

Last week’s American Idol Bing prediction was accurate. Will it call this week’s double elimination? Trent Harmon and Lee Jean are slated to go home, according to the site, with Avalon Young and Tristan McIntosh in danger.

It sure would be odd for Trent and Avalon to go home, considering they both scored at the top of  the favorites poll. But it wouldn’t be the first time our community was at odds with America’s vote.  Avalon scored over 1/5th of the vote, with La’Porsha and Trent behind her.  Favorites MacKenzie and Dalton slipped this week.

American Idol 15 Top 8 – Favorite Performance

  1. Avalon Young – Earned It 22.93%
  2. La’Porsha Renae — Halo 18.96%
  3. Trent Harmon — When a Man Loves a Woman 17.92%
  4. Dalton Rapattoni — Radioactive 10.49%
  5. MacKenzie Bourg — I Wanna Dance with Somebody 8.01%
  6. Tristan McIntosh — Go Rest High on That Mountain 8.01%
  7. Sonika Vaid — Since You Been Gone 6.64%
  8. Olivia Rox – Trouble 5.67% (Eliminated Last Week)
  9. Lee Jean — Use Somebody 0.91%
  10. Gianna Isabella — If I Ain’t Got You 0.46% (Eliminated Last Week)

You’re on board with Bing when it comes to Lee and Avalon being in trouble. But ya’ll have Trent the least likely to leave!

American Idol 15 Top 8 – Most Likely To Be Eliminated

  1. Lee Jean 59.3%
  2. Avalon Young 11.5%
  3. Sonika Vaid 11.12%
  4. Tristan McIntosh 9%
  5. Dalton Rapattoni 2.57%
  6. MacKenzie Bourg 2.42%
  7. La’Porsha Renae 2.04%
  8. Trent Harmon 2.04%

Overwhelmingly you felt Olivia was robbed of another week on American Idol, while also agreeing that it was time for Gianna to go home.

  1. Olivia Rox 75%
  2. Nobody was Robbed 23.01%
  3. Gianna Isabelle 1.99%

I don’t believe Tristan is in danger this week. She’s got a fanbase, and that performance and backstory was tailor-made for votes. I think she’ll be fine. Avalon, however could end up in the bottom again, despite that stellar performance, because I don’t think she’s amassed a fanbase,  She’s an unusual talent–flipping boy songs isn’t typically a thing, even if she does it extremely well.

I think Lee’s time to hit bottom may have finally come, although I would not be entirely surprised if he escaped the bottom 3. Cute boy advantage and all.  But at this point he is competing with some talented and popular singers. I said earlier in my powerlist that Trent’s video package and judges critiques harped on his flaws to his detriment. Sure, the judges were pointing out his improvement, but the litany of Things That Were Wrong may be the only thing viewers heard. Plus, that video package emphasized his farm boy quirk. He’s like the new red-haired girl. So, yeah. He could be in trouble. The good news: I think the judges will save him IF Tristan isn’t in the bottom 3.

PLOT TWIST: Sonika is in the bottom 3!  Her Kelly Clarkson cover was silly. But I think she’s got people. CUE THE INDIAN SKYPE CONSPIRACY.

PREDICTIONBottom 3: Trent Harmon, Avalon Young, Lee Jean. The judges save Trent.
