The latest American Idol 15 TV promo features some of your favorite joke contestants, including William Hung, Sanjaya and…Kanye West! I love that Kanye is included along with some of the legendary American Idol bad auditioners. OK Sanjaya really wasn’t a bad auditioner. He just went further (7th place) than he was expected, considering his vocal talents.
Also, the spot includes a bit of classic early Simon Cowell:
Contestant finishes busting everyone’s eardrums
Simon: I think you’re amazing!
Contestant: Thank you!
Simon: Amazingly dreadful
Contestant: Shocked
And, the classic line from Season 3’s William Hung, after massacring, Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs”: “I’ve had no professional training!”
Simon: NOooooo!
When Kanye West walks into the room, Jlo can’t believe it. “What are you doing here!” she asks, incredulously. (We’re feeling you, Jen). How Kanye should answer: “FOX tossed a solid to Ryan Seacrest. Me and Kim are here to promote the Kardashians.” Pretty sure that didn’t happen. We’ll just have to wait until American Idol returns for its fifteenth and final season on January 6 to find out.
