‘American Idol’ singers put Nashville school in spotlight – Tristan McIntosh was 2,000 miles from home. On the first day, the show’s producers had them all line up to be interviewed by host Ryan Seacrest. McIntosh was near the front, and looked back at the long line behind her. She couldn’t believe her eyes. “I catch a very bright streak of red hair,” she says. “And I’m like, ‘Wait a second.’ She’d seen that same red hair just a few days before – in physics class. Eventually, 16-year-old Amelia Eisenhauer made her way up to the front, and McIntosh approached her. “I’m like, ‘Do you live in Nashville?’ And she’s like ‘Yeah.’ I’m like, ‘Do you happen to go to Nashville School of the Arts?’ And she just looks at me, like, ‘No way.’” – Read more at the Tennessean.com

‘American Idol’ Alum Allison Iraheta’s Band Halo Circus Teams Up With RoadNation for Crowdsourced National Tour – Halo Circus, the four-piece outfit that includes American Idol season 8 alum Allison Iraheta, launches a campaign today for its first national tour, scheduled to begin in May. The band has teamed up with a new crowdsourcing platform, RoadNation, which went online Jan. 26 with eight acts. Halo Circus is the ninth campaign for the new company. RoadNation’s website allows artists to use crowdsourcing to form and fund their tours. An artist designates where they want to tour, a target number of tour stops and a funding goal for each tour stop. From there, fans determine tour stops by contributing to the city of their choice in the region set by the artist. The city is confirmed on the tour when the funding goal is reached. – Read more at Billboard

Taraji P. Henson Explains How She Mixed Up Coldplay and Maroon 5: There Were ‘a Lot of Drinks’ in the Super Bowl Suite – The Empire star, who was at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California for the big game on Sunday, took to Instagram and Twitter after the explosive performance to gush about how much she loves the halftime show headliner: Maroon 5. “YAAAAAAASSSSSS!!!!! #maroon5 is life to me!!! #superbowl50 #HappyCamper I am,” Henson captioned a pic of the show. The only problem, of course, is that Coldplay rocked the halftime show, not Maroon 5. Maroon 5 were not involved with the performance in any way. “I don’t know if you know how it goes down in the suites,” Henson explained. “They put a lot of drinks in there – Kool-Aid, lemonade, iced tea. I mixed it all and I sat there and I’m sitting with people who drank the Kool-Aid as well.” – Read more at ETOnline
