Eliminated American Idol contestant, Riley Bria JUST SPILLED in a YouNow chat tonight that an 80’s theme is coming up.
He was asked which theme he’ll miss most now that he’s eliminated from the show, and he revealed that he loved the song he picked for the 80’s theme, and wished he’d gotten to sing it.
He didn’t specify WHEN the theme would happen. But if he’s already thinking songs, I would assume it would be fairly soon–within the next couple of weeks.
The 80s, like Motown, is yet another tried and true American Idol theme. Dozens and dozens of 80s songs have been performed on the show over the years. It will be hard for the contestants not to choose repeats.
It’s also another week of music from before (most) of the Idols were born. What do you think? Are you looking forward to contemporary songs from the kids? Or are you happy that familiar themes have returned?
I’m OK with the 80s, actually. It’s a pretty wide open theme that allows contestants to find music that fits their style. And young and old seem to love the great music from that era. If we hear more specifics, we’ll be sure to post it right here!
