Tonight in a dramatic moment, finalist Qaasim Middleton was saved from elimination after the American Idol 14 judges – Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. – unanimously agreed to use the save when it was revealed that he received the lowest number of votes. Qaasim will continue in the competition as he takes the stage with the remaining finalists next week.
During the show, legendary musician, producer and this week’s mentor, Nile Rodgers, premiered a sneak peak of his new single “I’ll Be There.” The full-length music video will be available tomorrow, Friday, March 20, at 10:00 AM ET, exclusively on Facebook. The video stars Karlie Kloss, and will be available on Rodgers’ Official Facebook page.
It was also announced that the Top 11 finalists from American Idol 14 will sing the National Anthem and serve as Grand Marshals prior to the start of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 400 race this weekend at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA, airing Sunday, March 22 (3:00 PM-CC live ET/12:00 PM-CC live PT) on FOX.
