On tonight’s American Idol 14 Top 11 performance episode, Qaasim Middleton earned the lowest number of votes and sang for the Save. Surprisingly, the judges, Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban voted to USE their one time Save. Qaasim will return to the competition next week, while two contestants will be eliminated.
The theme, Songs From The Movies, featured many tunes we’ve heard on earlier seasons of Idol and elsewhere. The song picks were SO unimaginative, that I have to wonder if the singers’ were the victim of a short song list, full of the usual suspects.
Got to hand it to Quentin, Joey and Clark who reinvented songs that we’ve heard many times over the years in other places. I expect all three to place high in the favorites poll.
