American Idol 14 Spoilers Kansas City Judges Auditions
American Idol 14 judges round auditions took place in Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday and Thursday. Interviewed by the press on the second day before they stepped inside the hotel to assess some hopefuls, judges Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr. and Jennifer Lopez were bullish on the talent, according to the Kansas City Star:
“I think we did find some future superstars,” said Lopez, wearing a sparkly black blouse with sparkly black shoes. “Yesterday morning, we had an amazing run. It was like one person after the other after the other. And it was like, ‘Oh my gosh, how many people did we put through in a row?’”
“At least seven in a row” received a coveted “golden ticket” to advance to the next round, added Connick, sporting skinny black hipster pants, a dark blue cardigan sweater and a three-day scruff. “We were pleasantly surprised with how many went through.”
Kansas City was a stop on the bus tour, and apparently, the trio will be visiting all 16 Idol audition cities, rather than shipping off the small town hopefuls to the bigger cities, as in the past. That’s quite a schedule for the celebrity judges, In Kansas City, they heard 50 hopefuls on Wednesday and were set for 50 on Thursday.

Also, the American Idol tumblr posted a revealing little video. Casey Thrasher. You might remember him from the Backstreet Cowboys group in Hollywood this past season. Casey, Ben Briley and Dexter Roberts charmed the judges with a countrified rendition of the Backstreet Boys “I Want it That Way.” Ben and Dexter made the Top 13. But Casey is back for another try after being one of five Top 15 boys cut before they were able to sing during Rush Week.
