American Idol 11 Alums, Elise Testone and Deandre Brackensick Get Ready to Release New Music

Two American Idol Season 11 alums are getting ready to release new music.  Elise Testone, who finished in 6th place, is readying an independently produced album.  And a debut single from 8th placer, Deandre Brackesick, will be out on Tuesday.

Elise Testone’s self-produced album is titled “In This Life”–which is also the name of the track that opens the record. Elise told Suburban Trends that she “couldn’t be more confident” in her decision to self-produce her album. “The record will consist of 12 original songs incorporating various styles that are all tied together with a soulful, bluesy essence,”

“In short, there is something for everyone,” she said. The material ranges from radio friendly tunes and “sing along” funk to Americana and “jazzy infusion.”  It’s an eclecticism that would have never been allowed if the singer had signed with a major label.

Season 11 BFF, Erika Van Pelt sings backups, which Elise calls “The icing on the cake.”

Elise is over halfway through the studio sessions and hopes to release the disc in June.

Deandre Brackensick will be releasing his debut single, titled “Her Crazy” through Truth Records, a Milwaukee, WI start up label begun by Kevin Sucher. The label has only been in existence since November and is a division of Houston-based Truth Entertainment, which produces movies, including Matthew McConaughey’s forthcoming The Dallas Buyers Club.

JSOnline listened to a couple more tracks from Deandre, including “If You Ain’t Got Love” a “slick mid-tempo ballad about priceless romance” and the rhythmic pop track, “Carry Her.” The singer met Sucher through crooner Eric Benet’s cousin, producer George Nash, Jr. Sucher is also managing Deandre, as well as producing his music.

A music video will be released on Tuesday, along with the new single.
