Tonight the season finale of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap of the episode here.
For the first time in The Amazing Race history, four teams will be competing in the final leg of the race. However, one team will be eliminated before the other three get to race to the finish line. Which team will eliminated? And which team will reach the finish line first and claim the million dollar prize? Let’s find out.
Teams must now fly to Los Angeles, California. Once there, they must get into a Ford Explorer to get their next clue. At the airport, the other teams are frustrated that Amy and Maya were not eliminated after coming in last place in the last leg.
The teams arrive in Los Angeles and get into their Ford Explorers. They must go to Downtown City Hall and hand over the manila folder containing a permit to get their next clue. On the way, Misti and Jim get lost. Brooke and Robbie stop to ask for directions too. Adam and Bethany and Amy and Maya arrive at Downtown City Hall. After getting their permits approved, they must go to Southwest Marine Warehouse to get their next clue. Adam and Bethany drive to the next location, but Amy and Maya stop to ask directions first. Meanwhile, Misti and Jim arrive at city hall.
Amy and Maya arrive at Southwest Marine Warehouse first. There’s a Roadblock to complete. They must film an action movie stunt. After working with a stunt coordinator, one team member must grab a satchel and jump through a window. Adam and Bethany arrive too. Maya and Adam do the task. Misti and Jim are driving to the Roadblock while Brooke and Robbie are still lost driving to Downtown City Hall.
Adam and Maya are practicing while Misti and Jim arrive at the Roadblock. Jim chooses to do the task. Maya completes the task first. She and Amy can now go to Terminal Island to receive their next clue. Adam and Jim complete the task too.
Adam and Bethany get ahead of Amy and Maya after Maya forgot to take off her gear before leaving the Roadblock. Meanwhile, Brooke and Robbie finally arrive at city hall.
At Terminal Island, Adam and Bethany are still in the lead and learn they have a search and rescue task to complete. They must rescue dummies floating in the water. Back at the Roadblock, Maya finally gets her gear off while Jim can’t find his clue, allowing Amy and Maya to get ahead of him and Misti. However, both of them arrive at Terminal Island around the same time.
The top three teams are working on the search and rescue task, but Adam and Bethany finish first. ConGlobal Industries in the next location and where teams can find their next clue. Misti and Jim and Amy and Maya are right behind Adam and Bethany. Meanwhile, Brooke and Robbie arrive at the Roadblock. But before they can get started on the task, Phil arrives. He informs Brooke and Robbie that they have been eliminated from the race.
At ConGlobal Industries, Adam and Bethany arrive first. Teams must find nine specific shipping containers with the names of the cities they traveled throughout the race. By each city’s name, there is a number next to it and the team member must put the numbers in order to get their next clue. Each number is color coded for a specific team, meaning the three contestants must memorize a different number combination. As well, the team member that did not do the previous Roadblock must do this task, which means Bethany, Misti, and Amy do the task.
Amy finishes the task first. She and Maya can now make their way to the Pit Stop: Point Vincente Lighthouse. Bethany and Misti get their number combinations check, but do not get it right. However, Misti finally gets it right before Bethany. Adam and Bethany and Misti and Jim can now make their way to the Pit Stop, but Amy and Maya are in the lead. Which team will arrive there first?
Amy and Maya are the first to reach the finish line and have won The Amazing Race. Misti and Jim are Team #2 and Adam and Bethany are Team #3.

Overall, I thought this was an excellent season. The cast was filled with likable and memorable characters. Although I was rooting for Adam and Bethany to win, congrats to Amy and Maya. They were the underdogs, but managed to win the race.
