The Amazing Race Season 25 Episode 7 Live Recap

Tonight a new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap of the episode here.

Tonight six teams remain in the race. Will another team’s dream of winning the million dollar prize come to an end tonight? Let’s find out.

Misti and Jim came in first place once again last leg, so they’re the first to depart. They read their clue and find out they must fly to Palermo, Sicily. Once there, they must proceed to Teatro di Verdura to get their next clue. Adam and Bethany depart second as Misti and Jim are already at a travel agency booking tickets. Kym and Alli and Tim and Te Jay depart next. Misti and Jim learn they will arrive in Sicily at 8:00pm tomorrow, so they’re worried all the teams will be on equal footing once the teams arrive at Palermo. However, Kym and Alli are on the same flight as Misti and Jim, but everyone else will be forty minutes behind, as Brooke and Robbie and Amy and Maya learn as they arrive at the travel agency with the other teams.

As Kym and Alli are driving to the airport, they express their dislike for Misti and Jim, especially Jim. Once at the parking lot airport, they write “Team No Fun” on Misti and Jim’s rental car.

Misti and Jim and Kym and Alli arrive at Palermo and they decide to share a cab. They’re already on their way as the other teams arrive and get in different cabs.

At 6:30am the next morning, Misti and Jim and Kym and Alli get their clues and learn their new destination: Villa Costanza. Once there, they will get their next clue. Brooke and Robbie and Amya and Maya get their next clues ten minutes later and they cannot find taxis. Neither can Adam and Bethany or Tim and Te Jay. Only Misti and Jim and Kym and Alli got taxis right when they received their clues.

Roadblock time. One team member must drive a go-kart in a designated route down a mountainside and cross a finish line in under four minutes and seven seconds and then be driven down the rest of the mountainside by a professional driver in a vintage car. Kym and Jim do the Roadblock for their teams.

Amy and Maya find a taxi, as do Adam and Bethany and Tim and Te Jay. Brooke and Robbie are the only team without a taxi at the moment and are currently in last place.

Kym and Jim begin the Roadblock at the same time. Right behind them, Maya begins the Roadblock as Brooke and Robbie finally find a taxi (it took them forty minutes to find one). Kym and Jim complete the Roadblock and each get a clue, but they’re not done yet. They still need to be driven down the mountainside by a professional driver. Maya is now racing down the mountainside, but Maya does not complete it in time. She has to do it again.

Detour time. Misti and Jim and Kym and Alli can either choose “Painters” or “Posers”. “Painters” requires teams to restore a fresco. “Posers” requires teams to watch opera members perform and then identify the costume, name, and opera of each character. Both teams choose “Painters.”

Since Maya did not finish in time, she races again with Adam, Te Jay, and Brooke. They are all racing simultaneously down the mountainside. The four of them complete it in time.

Misti and Jim and Kym and Alli get to work on painting their frescos. Adam and Bethany and Amy and Maya choose to do “Painters,” which will only allow four teams to work on it. So Tim and Te Jay and Brooke and Robbie must do “Posers,” but Tim and Te Jay still want to go to the “Painters” Detour and hope they arrive there before another team. The three teams arrive there at the same time, but Tim and Te Jay manage to get a spot before Amy and Maya. Amy and Maya must now join Brooke and Robbie at the “Posers” Detour.

As the four teams are working on painting, Brooke and Robbie are beginning the “Posers” detour. They could not understand a word the opera singers sang and considered switching Detours, but realize the task is not as hard as they thought when they find out memorizing the costumes will be enough to finish the task since the names are listed underneath each costume that is displayed.

Misti and Jim and Kym and Alli check to see if their paintings are good enough to complete the task, but they do not pass. However, Misti and Jim pass on their second inspection and get their next clue. They find out they must proceed to Villa Niscemi, which is the Pit Stop for this leg of the race. Kym and Alli pass on their second inspection too and are right behind Misti and Jim.

Brooke and Robbie and Amy and Maya do not pass on their first attempts. They go to watch the opera performances again and agree to help each other.

At the Pit Stop, Misti and Jim check-in as Team #1 and win a trip to Jamaica. Kym and Alli arrive minutes afterwards and are Team #2. Kym and Alli talk about their rivalry with Jim and Misti in their confessionals and plan to beat Misti and Jim again, especially for the million dollar prize.

Brooke and Robbie and Amy and Maya work together and each get their clue to the Pit Stop. Adam and Bethany and Tim and Te Jay are the only teams working on a Detour at the moment and one of the two teams will likely be in last place. Tim and Te Jay now regret not doing the opera Detour.

Adam and Bethany complete the “Painters” Detour (“Wow! They did a great job!” says the inspector). Tim and Te Jay are now right behind them as they pass too. Amy and Maya and Brooke and Robbie arrive at the Pit Stop simultaneously as Teams #3 and #4 respectively.

It’s down to Adam and Bethany and Tim and Te Jay. Adam and Bethany arrive there first and are Team #5. Tim and Te Jay are Team #6, but it is a non-elimination leg. All six teams will remain for the next leg of the race.
