Despite a rough year, Jane Marczewski, aka Nightbirde dropped a celebratory banger on Dec. 30.
In November 2019, before she competed on America’s Got Talent, the singer dropped the upbeat “New Year’s Eve.” Now, she’s released a new version, remixed by Yacht Money. The lyrics find the singer-songwriter looking forward to kissing “someone who loves me” on New Year’s Eve.
“On New Year’s Eve in 2019 I was given 6 months to live, and soon after, marriage ended.” Nightbirde wrote on Instagram the day before her Dec. 29 birthday. ” I wrote this song because all I wanted was a perfect NYE. (LOL ok so we all know how that’s been working out for me so far.”
The singer continued, “My friends @yachtmoney shook this song up with some serious magic and I can’t wait for you to hear it. With enough Apple Music purchases, we could even CHART, which would be crazy.”
“My birthday is tomorrow,” the singer continued, and if you’d spend $1 to order the song on Apple Music when it’s released, that would be the best gift in the world. Anyway, it’s been a hell of a year. Lots of highs and lows, but you know, that’s how it goes. We’re still here. Cheers.”

The singer from Ohio went viral after sharing her battle with cancer on America’s Got Talent. Her original song “It’s OK” racked up views after judge Simon Cowell awarded her his golden buzzer. Unfortunately, her health took a turn for the worse and she had to drop out of the competition before the live shows.
Shortly after dropping out of AGT in August, she appeared on CNN’s Cuomo Live saying “my liver right now is mostly cancer. More cancer than liver in there right now.”
But in a recent CNN interview, the singer had some good news to share.
“You know what? I wish we would get a faster miracle,” Nightbirde said. “But it’s happening slow, little by little day by day, I’m getting a little better. I did get a scan result back and a bunch of stuff that was there has now disappeared. And a bunch of the really big stuff has gone down in size. So we’re on the way.”
In an Instagram video, Nightbirde announced that after only 1 day, the song hit No. 8 on the iTunes pop charts. She admitted that she had a “really bad, bad, bad, bad December.” But her friends helped her get the song out before the end of the year.
As far as her health is concerned, Nightbird said, “I’ve been on the freaking edge, but we’re going to make it, one step at a time, one little thing at a time.”
