America’s Got Talent alum Drake Milligan to resume tour after van crash

Drake Milligan and members of his band were injured when his touring vehicle crashed into a concrete median in Texas. The accident forced him to miss a show in Texas.

The America’s Got Talent finalist, however, is happy to report that he and the band are “all upright and heading home.” He wrote on social media, “We got in quite the fender bender on the way to @twostepinn, but we’re all on the mend. We really appreciate all the love and well wishes.”

Drake’s manager and label put out a statement on Monday (April 17) that confirmed, “Milligan and band were in a collision yesterday, while traveling between Fort Worth and Georgetown, Texas.” The statement continued, “Between the hours of 9:00am and 10:00am/CT, Milligan and team were in route to Two Step Inn, when a tire flew into their van causing it to collide into the concrete median.”

Injuries warranted a hospital trip

Drake and several members of his band sustained injuries serious enough to warrant a trip to the hospital. However, “All have since been released. Milligan will resume his tour schedule next week on April 28th, when he returns to the desert for a performance on the main stage at Stagecoach Music Festival.”

Drake continued his message, “A special thank you to Mark Bogart with @mbranchkingblinds who got the boys back to Nashville safely. Another big thank you to the fine folks with the Two Step Inn festival who immediately sent a truck to us to put all of our gear in. Lots to be grateful for! We’re gonna rest up, see y’all at @stagecoach real soon!”

Drake finished America’s Got Talent last summer in 3rd place on the strength of singing his original music. The week of the September finale, Drake released his latest album Dallas/Fort Worth and has been touring ever since.
