  1. Thank you MJ!!! Did not expect to wake up to this!

    Huge power ballad, gorgeous!

  2. This song encompasses everything I love about Adam’s voice and vocal ability. It is absolutely stunningly beautiful!!!

Now come on U.S. iTunes and put this up for sale already!!! Sony played Russian Roulette with the release dates one time too many for all different iTunes seller worldwide to adjust so Italy and Belgium have it up for sell.

  3. TFM is available for download on iTunes in Italy and Belgium, but not any other iTunes yet.

  4. Im so freakin excited! It sounds awesome…Ive already got the tune stuck in my head. It really is beautiful.

  5. Absolutely gorgeous !!! Can’t wait to download officially. Come on Itunes US, get your act together!!

  6. Aw man, I saw the heading and thought it was his album single.

(Didn’t Kelly Clarkson’s entire album leak through one of the international iTunes stores?)

ETA okay I’ve listened a few times now…definitely an amazing vocal!

  7. I’m glad he’s not singing this at the AMA’s. It’s a bit underwhelming for me. I mean, the vocals are amazing but the song just doesn’t sound quite right

  8. Available in Holland, too.

Love the song. I especially like the last part. I downloaded it, but have already asked a friend in Holland to buy 2.

  9. Adam and this song have met my expectations. Brian May knew what he was talking about. What a voice. What a voice. He put a little grit into the song to make it a little rock.

  10. It’s 8.30 pm in Malaysia. I downloaded it about an hour ago. It’s really really really beautiful!!!! Have been playing it over and over again non-stop. Emailed my boy in Chicago to buy it from USA iTunes once it’s available.

  11. This is beautiful and we have a gift of a leak… but PLEASE people… please buy it when it becomes available here! We all want to support out HBIC

  12. Adam is the miracle out of American Idol!

This song is amazing and I can’t imagine what will happen on MJsBigBlog when we see video!?!

  13. This is beautiful and we have a gift of a leak’ ¦ but PLEASE people’ ¦ please buy it when it becomes available here! We all want to support out HBIC

Oh, I’m definitely buying it. C’mon iTunes U.S. Let us give you our money!!!

  14. Well, single is a bit wrongly worded’ ¦ its the 2012 song.

Well, it is his single. It’s not his album debut single, but it is a single sung by him.

Technically, is it even a leak? iTunes did release it. But, it’s a leak in the rest of the world. Tough day for a pedantic person.

    Anyway, I’ve changed the title.

Adam is the miracle out of American Idol!

This song is amazing and I can’t imagine what will happen on MJsBigBlog when we see video!?!

I think it will be like an Adam-Comet hit!

  16. This is such a major fuck up by Itunes!!! Sony better release today if they don’t want to lose major revenue.

My god the voice is sublime!!!!!

The song is pwerful and emotional. It tugs right at the heart strings. The voice is flawless, and from what I can hear, hardly a trace of autotune.

It lacks the Kashmir bridge from the AOL vid, but it’s still a beautiful song.

Good luck Adam. I will definitely buy what it becomes available. (hopefully today)

Oh and SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE I can’t wait for the music video.

  17. Been listening to this song for an hour straight….love, love, love it… can’t wait to buy it from iTunes…come on, iTunes!!!!

    Anyway, I’ve changed the title.

    Thanks Kirsten!

  19. Definitely will be buying this when it becomes available. I really hope itunes usa gets on the ball and releases it today.

  20. I am too late for the youtube, but caught it on leeann’s link. fantastic, I love it!

  21. I love it!! Woke up at 4:45 to this Whoo Hoo!!!

I woke up to get a drink of water, which I seldom do at this hour. Adam was calling me.

Adam voice is epic. No one can sing like him. I can see why Roland Emmerich wanted Adam to sing this song.

  22. About what I expected: the song is meh (sounds like a Bond song), but he sings it superbly.

It should be a hit, but it’s not my cup of tea at all.

I have to admit though, I’m getting kind of curious about what his album’s going to be like…

Might even buy it, if I like the snippets.

  23. OK peeps – start flailing big time! Love it, love it, love it . . . . .

Lyrics for Time for Miracles’ ¦

    LYRICS:

It’s late at night and I can’t sleep
Missing you just runs too deep
Oh I can’t be thinking of your smile

    Every kiss you can’t forget
This aching heart ain’t broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see
Cuz I know this flame isn’t dying
So nothing can stop me from trying

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
    You know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
No I ain’t giving up on us

I just want to be with you
Cuz living is so hard to do
When all I know is trapped inside your eyes

    The future I cannot forget
This aching heart ain’t broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see
Cuz I know this flame isn’t dying
So nothing can stop me from trying

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
You know thatMaybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
No I ain’t giving up on us

Baby can you feel it(feel it)
You know I can hear it(hear it)
So can you feel it feel it’ ¦.

    You know it’s time’ ¦.

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
    You know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love

You know I ain’t giving up on us
You know I ain’t giving up on
Oh I ain’t giving up on us

  24. This is absolutely stunningly gorgeous! Exactly what I was hoping for. I adore it & will DEFINITELY buy it. WTF is the delay??

  25. Like I said in the other thread, the over-the-top screeching still does quite a number on my ears. I can tell when Adam is about to project his tongue from out of his mouth (a prerequisite for the screaming)….so I know when to turn the volume down. I literally cringe when does that.

Hopefully, someone can remind me that I will continue to hate Adam and that we all have different tastes because, gosh darn it, I keep forgetting. :)

  26. What a voice. What a voice. He put a little grit into the song to make it a little rock
I do think it’s Adam’s voice which elevates the material here. The lyrics are pretty standard “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”-style. But the melody is lovely, and his interpretation is so moving. I keep remembering how the writer of the song lost his wife to cancer and how it’s a tribute to her, also. I can’t wait to plunk down my $1.29. Like I said before:
I can just see him at the Oscar show in February, standing in front of a full orchestra and wearing a cool yet classy rocker tux, hair slicked back (sorry Suebrody!). Blowing the roof off the Kodak Theater.

  27. I wonder if it can be considered a screw up. Technically the song was “released on October 16th” per Amazon. It was just not offered for sale by US. So maybe those other countries were legit in releasing it. May be a US screw up.

  28. Thanks for the link. My opinion:

I really enjoyed the beginning of the song. However as it progressed to the dramatic parts I literally had to stop listening. I really can’t stand his voice in the higher register. It still sounds like shrieking and I felt if I listened anymore I’d need an aspirin.

And I 100% listened to this with an open mind. I basically had the same problem I had with his singing on Idol. Too bad they had to do the epic stuff at the end because the beginning of the song was very nice.
Maybe on the album, he won’t show off his high notes on every song and I’ll like some.

His voice sounded great at the beginning though. The song is the usual cheese with hope that I’d expect from a disaster movie soundtrack.

  29. Remember to link through MJ to buy on iTunes and Amazon when it does show up!

Bye Tony! Don’t be a stranger!

  30. I keep remembering how the writer of the song lost his wife to cancer and how it’s a tribute to her, also.

They wrote the song together while she was battling cancer and finished it before she passed away.

  31. Like I said in the other thread, the over-the-top screeching still does quite a number on my ears.

You should perhaps consider seeing an otologist to have that fixed.

  32. I can just see him at the Oscar show in February, standing in front of a full orchestra and wearing a cool yet classy rocker tux, hair slicked back (sorry Suebrody!). Blowing the roof off the Kodak Theater.

Aw, I flove the way you think, Mom in the Suburbs!!!

  33. It’s gorgeous! Adam’s voice is stunning. His phrasing is so interesting. I wonder how much imput Adam had in the way the song was structured? Because the way the lyrics flow and the way Adam uses his voice to build the song is really great.

I think my favorite part is 1:44 – 2:07 of the song on the third verse. And of course at the 3:00 mark when he just opens up and wails is unbelievable!

The transition to the bridge is a bit awkward because of the music but Adam saves it.

  34. Before I go back to bed, I want to say again how beautiful Adam sounds. He has such an amazing, amazing voice. The industry/media loves it as much as his fans.

SONY, HURRY UP AND PUT IT UP FOR DOWNLOAD. THE LONGER YOU WAIT, THE MORE REVENUE YOU LOSE.

  35. Tony, I posted before I saw your link so we’lre really on the same wavelength.

I could see this being a hit overseas but I doubt US radio will touch it.
It really belongs on Rock but the song itself is too cheesy. It’ll be interesting to see if it gets any spins. It’s a shame his moneymaker is the freakish range because it probably means we’ll hear it constantly.

  36. I LOVE IT it shows what ADAM can do with his voice and his tongue! haha!

like what i’ve said in the other thread..

The end of the song encompasses everything I loved about Adam on Idol. That screechy, loud, screamy ‘singing-with-the-tongue-out-of-the-mouth’ high notes that are music to my ears’ ¦ I LOVE IT!!!

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE MUSIC VIDEO!!!

  37. The transition to the bridge is a bit awkward because of the music but Adam saves it.

I think the Kashmir bridge was better.

  38. His voice is so breathtaking. Seriously, such a wonderful talent! So thankful he auditioned for Idol, otherwise, the world may never have heard of him.

  39. amazing. every other song i listen on itunes now sounds terrible after listening to this

  40. Brian May knew what he was talking about

40 years of experience can matter.

Put away the PowerPoints, Big Biz and welcome to the real world of technology fueled by desire.

Yes, this will screw up the week 1 single sales. And make Italy look like the music sales center of the globe.

But let’s not overlook: GLOBAL RELEASE!!!

Adam’s already got a worldwide single. Promoted on the hottest world wide movie. Astonishing. Truly astonishing.

  41. This song has something for everyone–the dramatic high-register parts at the end (ala rock-god Mercury) AND warm, intimate moments at the beginning. And the so-called beginning lasts through most of the song. I love the first part and the way his voice caresses the melody, but then I love how he crescendos two-thirds of the way through into an almost operatic performance which showcases what has to be one of the best voices in the business.

If you don’t like his style, ymmv, but seriously, this song showcases one thing: no one can argue that boy can sing his face off.

  42. Tony and I aren’t the only ones who hear shrieking guys. It’s probably why he didn’t win Idol. But there are tons of people who love it.

I’m very interested to see the general response to this. I mean people who aren’t already die hard fans. Plus the reviews will be also be fun. I think Adam is going to be a very polarizing artist.

  43. I was expecting more wailing, maybe in the video. Anyway, love the song. Cannot wait for the album.

  44. He sounds great but the song is just eeehhh. It’s corny, which is weird because Adam is not – he’s all Mr. Current/Edgy. But movie soundtrack songs are a different animal. Maybe it sounds more appropriate in the moment its played after the film? I dunno. I don’t see this becoming a radio hit unless its on AC. He’ll still get tons of exposure from it, so purpose served.

  45. I really enjoyed the beginning of the song. However as it progressed to the dramatic parts I literally had to stop listening. I really can’t stand his voice in the higher register. It still sounds like shrieking and I felt if I listened anymore I’d need an aspirin.

    LITERALLY the same wavelength! lol

    Beginning: good
As is progressed to the latter part: holy fuck, no.

Reminds me of when he was featured on “The Soup” and the host started cringing when Adam’s screeches got higher and higher. He had to cut the clip. lol

  46. Hopefully, someone can remind me that I will continue to hate Adam and that we all have different tastes because, gosh darn it, I keep forgetting.

Tony, I hate to disappoint you so– duly reminded! :)

  47. It’s quite fitting that this song is for a disaster movie, as it will probably make people run away fleeing as fast as they can.

  48. They wrote the song together while she was battling cancer and finished it before she passed away.
Thanks Adamland, I didn’t know the specifics! That makes me feel so sad, their fighting the battle together, hoping for a miracle.

  49. WOW….i love this!!!! he sounds great and it is a perfect bombastic end of disaster movie song (but then again I have always loved rock ballads)…i don’t get why people think he is screeching near the end…he basically does what every rock singer does at the end of a big rock ballad, but I guess ymmv

  50. The song is pretty generic and lame (typical of soundtrack songs) but Adam’s voice saves it although it does get shrieking. Glad this is not a representation of his sound on the album because I wouldn’t be buying.

  51. It’ll be interesting to see if it gets any spins.

I don’t even think it matters if it gets spins at this point, it is going to be played on thousands of movie screens all over the world thousands of times a day for two straight weeks, lol.

and after it is played before the movie that is projected to be the biggest movie EVER, it will get played during the biggest blockbuster of the year. Screw radio- Adam will be fine.

  52. It’s funny how some people still like Adam’s low key singing enough to put up with the high key wailing. For me, this is what just thrills me about Adam’s singing, the beautiful grit and tone and then the buildup to the wail when he just lets it rip. He takes me on a journey with each song. Just amazing!

  53. Interesting that anyone can call that “shrieking” or “screeching.” But differing opinions are what makes discussion interesting. I’m glad so many are enjoying Time for Miracles – I just wish they’d hurry up and get it on Amazon US and iTunes!

WOW’ ¦.i love this!!!! he sounds great and it is a perfect bombastic end of disaster movie song (but then again I have always loved rock ballads)’ ¦i don’t get why people think he is screeching near the end’ ¦he basically does what every rock singer does at the end of a big rock ballad, but I guess ymmv

I know, big rock ballad = big rock wail.

  55. Adam sounds great, but the song absolutely stinks in my opinion. It’s so dang cheesy. It’s a “I don’t want to miss a thing” for me and I HATE that song, but love Aerosmith.

He sure sang the hell out of it though.

  56. It’s a shame his moneymaker is the freakish range because it probably means we’ll hear it constantly.

I don’t think his range is a bad thing. In fact it’s what sets him apart from everyone else.

I do agree that I don’t think this song is right for US radio but I hope I’m wrong.

I think the Kashmir bridge was better.

I’m not sure what that is?

  57. i don’t get why people think he is screeching near the end’ ¦he basically does what every rock singer does at the end of a big rock ballad,

mmb-when I listen to radio I listen to classic rock (the modern pop rock out now bores me) and I hear the classic rock wailing all the time too. You can actually connect with a voice! Love Adam, love the song, its perfect for the movie.

  58. I just woke up to this absolutely BEAUTIFUL SONG! Adam has done an AMAZING job!! Brian May was soooo right!! I’ve got to go back and listen to it again…and …again….!

  59. I think the Kashmir bridge was better.

I’m not sure what that is?

Similar to the one in the song “Kashmir.”

  60. It’s corny, which is weird because Adam is not ‘“ he’s all Mr. Current/Edgy. But movie soundtrack songs are a different animal

True, the song is not as good as the singer. Very disaster movie power ballad. He growled as much as possible. Bits of edge.

But as a worldwide release, in a video, before the Michael Jackson movie, on the blast your ears off surround sound, it’ll do the job. And the close-ups on the singer won’t hurt either. (Except for the facial hair thing…)

  61. Yeah, I’m on the boat of really boring song but he sings the heck out of it. I guess that’s what you get in movie soundtracks, lol. I personally am impressed that he *has* that higher register, but I’m not crazy about it when he spends a lot of time there. I don’t think he screeches, I think he has great vocal control, but I prefer voices in a lower register, it is more pleasant for my ears. I do think he’s polarizing, but immensely talented, and I’m sure he’ll do just fine.

  62. No one will be able to steal our happy today’ ¦.

exactly right spring2009. Thanks to whoever got the music to us!!!

  63. I don’t even think it matters if it gets spins at this point, it is going to be played on thousands of movie screens all over the world thousands of times a day for two straight weeks, lol.

Right after that his album comes out.So most who don’t know him will think that this song is what his album is like.I don’t know if that is a good thing but time will tell.Brian May was blown away with this song REALLY?Its ok but blown away.

  64. The Kashmir-sounding bridge is there…he’s just singing over it, unlike in the video clip. It’s the “baby can you feel it” part.

  65. What a beautiful song. Adam’s voice, what an instrument. Who else could have sung this song? I can not wait to buy it!

  66. I’m not sure what that is?

In the video snippet we saw earlier, they used a different instrumental bridge, which in my opinion was better.

  67. For me, he sounds female in the first verse, sounds lovely in the second verse. I enjoy the melody of the chorus, and then we devolve into melody-free wailing/shrieking/beautiful high notes, depending on your Adam-orientation. (I’m in the “shrieking” camp). If Adam can sing every note audible to human ears, why doesn’t he ever sing any low ones?

I think I just prefer a fuller, grittier voice all around, but I’m sure I’ll like Adam’s pop/dance stuff more than his “rock” sound.

  68. The song is a rock power ballad for a movie soundtrack. Adam has reminded us about that over and over that his music will sound nothing like this.. he was asked to record this for a movie and he did a hell of a job.

However, I happen to love old rock ballads so I have happy feet this morning!! Yes, big rock ballad, big wail.

Doesn’t anyone remember Steven Tyler etc? Wailing is good.

  69. Oh and SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE I can’t wait for the music video.

Sunn- could not agree you more..
Jpfan– why it Adam or the single be a would be a hit overseas?
I am waiting for the offcial Adam cd single maybe like tinawina said it will have more edge to it…I do think Adam has a great voice and range ..

    eta-thanks

  70. Rock wail for the win! I for one still hope he does plenty of that in his new music.

  71. Beginning: good
As is progressed to the latter part: holy fuck, no.

This captures my sentiments exactly. Okay, moving on…

  72. I don’t like the song. It really has nothing to do with Adam, just a bad song IMO. Very boring nothing special.

ETA: There were quotes from industry folks on this board who have heard it and it praised like crazy. I just wonder were they listening to the same song I was?

  73. AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  74. Adam’s voice is impeccable but the song is not my thing as a single, I would quickly change the station if it came on. However I can totally see it fitting it perfectly in a movie so I guess that’s the point. It is pretty snoozeriffic til the end for me though.

    THIS!!!!
i love you and yes screw the radio but it aint happen coz
the radio DJ all around the wold will go gaga over this song.
    Just wait and see.

  76. I will never get the “shrieking” label. So. Lame. Whatevs. His vocal control is outrageous and I love the layers of the song and that he’s singing the backing track as well.

  77. I love it. Now I’m waiting for it to be released in Canada so I can buy it. I’m also waiting for the video….that will be fantastic.

  78. I agree that the song is typical disaster movie inspirational song. I also agree that Adam sang the heck out it. I could feel the emotion and that is what makes me love a song. The part at the end that some people don’t like is the part that gave me the biggest chills. Not the best song but an amazing performance by an awesome singer.

  79. As far as the lyrics are concerned, I’m pretty sure that that’s not going to be much of a concern. Considering the circumstances (a.k.a. that “2012” is believed to be a craptacular doomfest), the cheese is to be expected I guess.

  80. All I know is, after listening to this twice this morning, I noticed I was humming the chorus while walking my dog. I think this will be a huge hit.

  81. Let me say this people, when this music video comes out, with Adam’s face on the big screen, there will be flailing and fainting all across the world. Count on it.

  82. oh Ra, how come i can’t make myself push the Ra-dam button? it’s the entire song for freakin’ out loud!!!!!! ADAAAAM!!! Oh my Ra, Oh my Ra…I know, i know it’s supercalifragilisticexpialidocious…! is it still there?

ETA: I just did it! YES, ITS ADAMMMM!!!!! i luv it…it’s BEAUTIFUL!!!!!….. *thud*

  83. One of the TFM vids is already ranked today. Seriously, I wonder if you tube will be able to stand all the hits today. I predict lots of internet and twitter traffic today!

  84. I love the song but didn’t feel the power I felt with the snippet. I think when I hear it while watching the vid it will be more powerful for me. I think this may be a case of “in context” for me. Will buy as soon as available though because his voice is so great and I love him.

Let me say this people, when this music video comes out, with Adam’s face on the big screen, there will be flailing and fainting all across the world. Count on it.

Despite the pirate facial hair! You are so right, wow I can’t wait to see it.

  86. I could see this being a hit overseas but I doubt US radio will touch it.
It really belongs on Rock but the song itself is too cheesy.

Well, I hear “Magic Rainbow” on the radio all the time and this isn’t any more chessy than that! I guess we’ll just have to see. I don’t think that radio spins were his motivation for doing this song. I don’t think most artists do a song on a soundtrack to get radio spins out of it. They do it for exposure and Adam will definitely get that with this song.

  87. His voice sounds gorgeous. I can’t imagine anyone else singing this song. Those high notes and the powerful rock wail at the end. Not too many singers have that range and can infuse a bit of grit into the song as well.

As some of the non-Adam fans have pointed out, it will be very interesting to see how people outside the bubble embrace this song. No radio airplay? We shall see.

  88. I really like the softer parts. I’ve listened to it several times this morning and something bothered me with the bridge and the later parts of the song. I think what it is (for me) is what we would have referred to as “bandzilla” when they were on the show. The background music is way too loud (for me). I’m guessing that’s the way it must be for a movie, but I don’t care for it. Adam’s vocals are wonderful as always, though.

  89. Adam obviously has a great voice, but this song is lame. Looking more forward to what he releases as his own.

And LOL at the people calling 2012 “the biggest movie ever”. You do know that it is going to be a massive flop, right? Who the hell wants to watch the remake (BY THE SAME DIRECTOR) of The Day After Tomorrow?

  90. The last two minutes of the song you can have all the power vocal you want. One incredible power vocal on top of another amazing power vocal… and all of them are Adam’s own vocal… AMAZING.. love the full string orchestra

  91. BRAIN MAY WAS RIGHT. THS IS AMAZING. OMG IM SPECHLESS RIHGT NOW I CANT EVEN BREATH.

  92. Not only will it be played at the end of this year’s biggest movie (2012) – it will ALSO be played BEFORE this year’s biggest documentary (This is It).

Between the two biggest film events of 2009, one with HUGE world-wide release (TII), which also will draw from the Michael Jackson boomer-age fanbase (many of whom have likely stopped being big movie-goers), and 2012, which will get the kids, teens, mids, and practically everyone else,

WHO IN THE WORLD (literally) WILL NOT HAVE HEARD OF ADAM LAMBERT by New Years?

    wOOOO hOOOOOOOO

  93. I’m no expert on international music but the US market seems to prefer less cheesy/more edgy stuff. So I could see this doing better overseas.

Brian May seems to be a lovely guy who overpraises everything in my opinion.

  94. @steve

Brian May was blown away with this song REALLY?Its ok but blown away.

I think Brian May was turned to jelly over Adam’s vocals more than the “song.” He did say he thought it would be a number one smash hit (me too.)

  95. I MEAN BRIAN MAY. GOODNESS I EVEN SPELLED HIS NAME WRONG FROM THIS EXCITEMENT.

  96. I love the entire thing. Beautiful vocal. His voice is gorgeous. His nuances are gorgeous. Yay!!

I’m no expert on international music but the US market seems to prefer less cheesy/more edgy stuff. So I could see this doing better overseas.

The US? The same US in which TOML sold to platinum??? or is it double platinum? LOL I think I’l disagree with you there.

  98. I like it a lot but then I love classic rock ballads. I do prefer Adam’s voice in his lower register but Adam’s range is what makes him unique and so very talented. As far as movie soundtracks go, this should be a hit.

  99. Sunn, sorry, but what is TOML? I need a dictionary for this stuff. :)

  100. TOML is very cheesy but Cook’s vocals actually saved it. I personally hate the song but the ending of this song screams movie soundtrack. TOML made it on AC radio. I’m not sure this would fit their format.:)

Anyway, it doesn’t matter. Because this isn’t Adam’s first single and won’t be on his album.

  101. I was so scared to be disappointed!!
But I love love love it so I am happy!

Sunn, sorry, but what is TOML? I need a dictionary for this stuff. :)

David Cook’s song ‘Time of My Life.”

  103. I take back my comment I said last week which was based on the short movie clip. It has nothing that reminds me of GnR’s November Rain. I should’ve know better. Also based on May’s track record of bad taste, it should be taken as an indication of something to avoid, but this particular song is not that bad. It just ain’t up there like the aging rockers say it’s.

Also, I was never into “Bat out of hell.”

  104. First of all I love it. But I don’t think it sounds exactly like the snippet. Where is the Kashmir type of guitar rift. The snippet seemed rockier. Maybe this is not the final version. Regardless Adams voice is amazing.

The right on the money power vocals and ridiculous range at the end of the song still does quite a number on my ears by treating them to what a talented singer can do with a song and how with that beautiful range evoke in me such a visceral almost spiritual feeling. So when he does get to that part, I know when to turn the volume UP. I literally become overwhelmed with happiness and awe when he does that.

I am sure someone can remind me how much they can’t stand his singing and that I am always going to love Adam and that that’s OK because we all have different tastes. Gee thanks because gosh darn it, I keep forgetting that there are people who don’t get him or appreciate him.

    thanks adamland’ ¦

You are very welcome. I know, you need an Urban Dictionary for blogs. I think of it as brain teasers.

  106. The song is incredibly generic. I’m sure it’ll be a minor hit, because it’s catchy, but it’s not one for the history books.

  107. Adam’s voice really is an amazing instrument. I think this song captures a whole lot of that range. It will be awesome to hear this song in the theater.

TOML is very cheesy but Cook’s vocals actually saved it.

Again, I will have to disagree quite passionately with you here. The US looooves cheese. How would you ever explain the success of AI otherwise. lol

  109. Meh. With all the hype I was expecting something much better – kinda boring really.

  110. Nothings gonna harsh my mellow this morning. Just living the moment.

  111. And LOL at the people calling 2012 ‘the biggest movie ever’ . You do know that it is going to be a massive flop, right? Who the hell wants to watch the remake (BY THE SAME DIRECTOR) of The Day After Tomorrow?

I was talking about THIS IS IT which is already expected to outdo The Dark Knight just by presales

  112. thanks for updating the link!

repeating the sentiment of many… song 7/10… adam’s singing 10/10!!

  113. Did people in the industry yap on about DC’s amazing vocals the way they do Adam’s? I don’t remember seeing same.

  114. I don’t know how true is the previous statement that the US market prefers less cheesy/more edgy songs….is this the same market that made Miley Cyrus, JoBros, Britney et al humungous hitmakers?

Anyway, the Adam as always was vocally impressive in this….the song itself was just meh…it’s like so many other “rock” songs out there…..nothing jumps out…I can understand why this isn’t the 1st single to be released in his album.

  115. I started out loving it, but I have to say, as I listen to it repeatedly, the song really grows on you. It’s amazing to hear the little riffs and shadings and all the little things that he does with his voice. It just keeps getting better.

  116. I can just see him at the Oscar show in February, standing in front of a full orchestra and wearing a cool yet classy rocker tux, hair slicked back (sorry Suebrody!). Blowing the roof off the Kodak Theater.

What a beautiful picture you’re painting here. I can see your picture and loving it already.

  117. I’m not liking it. I know that I’ll be unpopular for saying that. I find it over-produced and the music to vocal ratio overpowering and disjointed.

I’m not hearing the things I love about Adam’s voice. Parts I like, as a complete artistic work, not so much.

    Will it do well? Probably.

  118. It is exactly as I imagined from the snippet. Adam sounds fantastic and has done the song justice. Honestly, they could have toned down the strings – for me that is the only thing that detracts from the the end of the song.

  119. Beginning, middle, end – all good for my ears. Got my US itunes gift card ready for weeks now. Please hurry up US itunes. Will use MJ’s link of course. Thank you, thank you for linking the leak/release.

I started out loving it, but I have to say, as I listen to it repeatedly, the song really grows on you. It’s amazing to hear the little riffs and shadings and all the little things that he does with his voice. It just keeps getting better.

I agree, I’ve been listening to it nonstop for a couple of hours. The layers of his voice are so awesome, the edge here, the riff there, the softness at the very end. Gorgeous!

  121. The US looooves cheese

    So true, Sunn.

At least this is perfectly sung cheese. And how did Celine Dion get her own theatre in Vegas? Power Note Velveeta. To paraphrase Kris: Cheeselovers buy albums, too.

US popular musical tastes? Top 40 is one piece of junk after another. With mostly machines doing the performance.

This is a ridiculously mediocre song with an ridiculously talented singer making the most out of it. And the giddy wonder of that is it will keep a giant amount of people who loved Adam on AI and won’t necessarily like electro dance pop in the fanbase. As well as bring in all kinds of people around the world who love soaring, string laden, real intruments, astonishing singer singing cheese.

This is MARKETING MIRACLE. This one (Sony corporate move) lucky soundtrack placement changes everything.

We said it from the beginning: This one soundtrack gig is how Adam gets to leapfrog to being a global star from day one.

  122. It.Is.So.Beautiful! The beginning made me immediately well up. The voice, the voice, the angst in it!
Bless you a million times, Rob Cavallo, for not over producing that voice!
I love the short instrumental intro, then the beautiful voice!

ETA: I am stunned that it exceeds my expectations! How is that possible when my expectations were so OTT high!

  123. Oh, how I have missed hearing Adam’s take on a new song. Love how it builds and the last parts where is voice lets loose. Fantastic. The voice. Cheesy lyrics are fine by me (I think a lot of lyrics are cheesy). I’m not a big fan of the melody. Until the end part I find it a bit relentless. But still, Adam takes this song and makes it very very good. And here I am, marking time until his album comes out. I have a feeling it is going to be very worth the wait.

Its a happy day and its just started!!

  124. Wow, after being so disappointed last night when Amazon changed the available date for this song, to wake up to this is incredible! Who the hell f***ed up at Amazon?

Count me in among those who love it! Adam’s voice is haunting in the early parts, and then when he lets it go– well, it’s music to my ears. It’s absolutely perfect for the soundtrack of 2012. Who else can sing this way? His range, and his ability to convey emotion is fantastic. I’m thrilled that he was given the opportunity to record this song and to gain enormous global exposure.

All that being said, I’m dying to hear some of Adam’s music!

  125. VOICE! It is not about the song! What can you expect from a song for a movie like 2012? – not much….But the Voice! That’s all that i care about, and the exposure will be HUUUUGE! So, all perfect in AdamWorld!

Also, being that I am “afraid” of electro-metal (whatever that means – scares me ) I am happy to have a strong vocal song.

  126. Not only will it be played at the end of this year’s biggest movie (2012)

Yes, because this isn’t the year that “New Moon”, “Star Trek”, “Transformers” and “Harry Potter” were/will be released. Seriously, the anticipation for “New Moon” is off the charts. I’m not a Twilight fan (never read one of book or seen the first movie), but the anticipation for that movie is insane. “They even had to move the release of the soundtrack up due to demand” (or so they claim).

They filmed both “New Moon” and “2012” here. I’m very much aware of the “New Moon” filming because of the constant press. I was kind of surprised to discover “2012” was filmed here. So, “New Moon” wins for press interest (though “2012” may have the bigger ad budget).

No doubt, 2012 will be BIG. I’m just not sure it will be the biggest movie of the year. “Transformers” has some pretty big numbers (for such a crappy film. $402M domestic and $833M total worldwide. Harry made less domestically, but more internationally for a total of $933M).

Anyway, song. It sounds exactly like I expected an Adam Lambert disaster movie rock song that had been praised to the rafters by Brian May would sound like. I’m sure that nobody will be shocked to find that I won’t be buying it, but I’m sure the song will have a lot of buyers so Sony will be pleased.

  127. TwigLA, no worries. Different strokes for different folks. :) Everyone has an opinion, that’s what makes the world go round.

I love it, Adam’s voice is unique and beautiful to my ears. He soars in this song and it is glorious to me. I listen to the song and know it’s Adam, he’s distinctive, he’s original and he’s amazing. No one else sounds like him, in my opinion.

I loved Time of my Life. David’s vocals hit the spot with that song.

  128. No doubt, 2012 will be BIG. I’m just not sure it will be the biggest movie of the year.

This doesn’t matter at all. A movie gives international exposure, THAT’s what matters.

  129. As for cheesy movie songs not getting air time, I hear “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” almost every day on the radio station at work. How many years has that one been out? And it even has screeching vocals towards the end (with, might I add, even more incomprehensible enunciation).

Cheesy songs, movie or album, do just fine in the US. “Unwell”, “Disco Stick”, “Hey there Delilah”, “Single Ladies”; yeah, cheese sells.

As for shrieking, let me tell you, I know shrieking. Try being forced to hearing Mariah Carey everyday for 3 years. 3. Years! Everyday. Including the dance edits. I would rather be stuck in the middle of 12 year old girls at a Jonas Brothers concert than be subjected to her shrieking ever again.

Adam hasn’t shrieked, yet. I emphasize “yet,” cause I am afraid he might try to outdo Carey during some time in his career, at which point I might just have to hurt someone.

    Ymmv, of course. >.>

As for the song, I like his vocals, I like most of the melody, but do agree that it isn’t nearly as solid as I had hoped. I do like it though, and will still get it when available.

  130. I started out loving it, but I have to say, as I listen to it repeatedly, the song really grows on you. It’s amazing to hear the little riffs and shadings and all the little things that he does with his voice. It just keeps getting better.

This is me. I’ve had it on repeat for the last 30-45 minutes and it just gets better with each listen.

The voice, the voice, the angst in it!

YES! you can feel the pain and desparation in his voice. That’s an amazing quality in a singer IMO. There are plenty of good singers but there aren’t many who can convey that kind of emotion vocally. The pain in searing almost.

  131. As I do not have the desire to find fault first and readily dismiss the song just because it is Adam singing , I discovered the touching lyrics that Natasha Shnieder and Alain Johannes wrote and discovered a beautiful song. And I discovered that the rock melody though seem to drag at first, evolves into a turmoil of emotions. Like life- you start to believe that peace and joy and togetherness are forever , then something happens and all is in upheaval and you grasp for some reason to continue, for some strength .
The rock crescendo may be called shrieking by some. And I am sorry they cannot see past their bias to feel the song. It accentuates the agitated feeling of loving so hard yet knowing you will soon be alone.

And this song is envisioned to take on more meaning when it is set in the context of the movie.

As in any art , it will not be a joy to all .

But to some who are able to see and hear beyond the walls of bias that they have built around themselves, this song just might awaken some deep feelings about what it means not to give up on our loved ones -“Oh God I wish I could make you see“(a line from the song).

“I know this flame isn’t dying, so nothing can stop me from trying…” cheesy words for some, but if my loved one is sick and things are very hard and tells me those words , it will be hope I will be thinking about.

Adam did the song writers proud. Their feelings we feel through his voice.

Thank you very much for this music. Thank you very much.

  132. Awesome!!!. I love his voice esp in the verses. I actually expected more “shrieking” , I absolutely love those high notes and that’s why I am a fan of his. so can’t wait for the music video with him walking down a chaotic street.

  133. Pretty “Meh” for me…I hate the screaming in last part of the song.

  134. have listened to it a few more times and love it more every time…i think this has the potential to be a big AC hit……but again, who even knows if they intend to push radio play for this as opposed to just using it in promotion for the movie (yes I know that radio play would also be promotion, but….)

  135. This doesn’t matter at all. A movie gives international exposure, THAT’s what matters.

Yep. That is indeed all that matters.

I was just being pedantic about it being the biggest movie of the year. It might be, but I think not. I would have no problem with people saying “one of the biggest”. LOL.

The song will be featured on one of the biggest movies in the world and that is great for it and Adam.

  136. It’s a shame his moneymaker is the freakish range because it probably means we’ll hear it constantly.

Adam is a complete package. His money maker is his beautiful vocal.. his crazy wide range.. his lower register to his highest register.. his personality, .. his humility.. his charisma…. and a lot more. Those are his money maker. Producer/industry doesn’t love him for his beautiful voice and his crazy wide range only.. but they also love the Adam, the person… a humble and kind personality that’s fun to hang out with.

And I’m all to hear all his voice constantly .. to see him in every media.. and could wait to see him on stage again… AMA’s stage.. concert stage.. maybe Oscar stage next year.. Yeepeeeee…

  137. after experiencing a series of tragedies here in our country (Philippines), and with a new typhoon hitting us early next week, TIME FOR MIRACLES is the best theme song for us..

  138. Bravo Animated! I wish Natasha could have lived long enough to hear Adam’s vocals.

  139. As for shrieking, let me tell you, I know shrieking. Try being forced to hearing Mariah Carey everyday for 3 years. 3. Years! Everyday.

Isn’t there a UN convention against something like that? Gah!

  140. AAAAAAAAAAAahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Thing is, I can’t even pretend to be objective about Adam anymore… I am aware that this is cheese with a capitol C, but his voice just grabs me by the gut and mooooooves me!

And the “Shreiking”? That is what makes Adam the most awsome singer I’ve heard in years! Ok, and some other aspects of his voice&performance, but his electric guitar wail is def one of the main attractions….

  141. Why did I go to bed? Could someone remind me? UGH Can’t believe I missed this! But LOL reading back through the other thread was REALLY funny. You all were freaking out cause the date was pushed back and some of you were sayin stuff about ‘maybe they meant to change the date to the 17th’ and then a few minutes later WHAM.
Anyways, I haven’t had time to listen to it (where are my earbuds?!?!?) but Im pretty sure Im buying anyways :)

  142. Oh and Jim tweets:
    #

    # Personally, I think this song will be just as big as Aerosmith’s ballad. Time for Miracles > I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing. Yay @adamlambert5 minutes ago from web

    # Jess is now hiding under the bed. Haha. Chillax, friends. Everyone’s entitled to their own (wrong) opinions.6 minutes ago from web

    # The verdict: AWESOME. Perfectly OTT for a big disaster flick. Altho Jess despised it. “He’s just screaming.” Hmm. Will non-Lamberts like it?11 minutes ago from web

  143. The end of the song encompasses everything I loved about Adam on Idol. That screechy, loud, screamy ‘singing-with-the-tongue-out-of-the-mouth’ high notes that are music to my ears’ ¦ I LOVE IT!!!

YES.. YESS… eventhough I really love his lower register too.. but I agree with you above.

I LOVE IT and Bring it on Adam…. all the time.. constantly.

  144. Woot! This is why I check this blog before starting to work.

    Thanks!

  145. Well I love it. I definitely prefer the second half because I love when Adam totally belts. And there were those steel guitars in full force as I thought from the snippet.

  146. I think Adam did a long rock wail so many times on AI (and in the context of a short 90 second song it could sound screechy to some, altho it never did to me) that no matter what he does people will say he screeches….in TFM he only goes into rock wail mode during the last 45ish seconds of the song, and it isn’t even nearly as wild as some of the stuff he did on the show (eg btbw, one)….but people will hear what they are predisposed to hearing….i cannot believe how much i love this song

  147. Ok, the more I listen to it the more power I get from it. I can’t wait to listen to it in the car where I can crank it up (hubbie is not an Adam fan).

  148. I could never buy the AI iTunes recordings in NL, but I think having the official download on my iPod right now makes up for that a bit :)

Too bad it’s with the 2012 logo and not a pic of AL.

  149. Ga! I was on here until 2 in the morning (MT), just thinking something epic was about to happen. But it didn’t so I finally went to bed, and then THIS!!!!!

WOW!!!!!! FLAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE GODS MUST HAVE TAKEN PITY ON US AND BESTOWED US WITH THIS AWESOME GIFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now for my critique: I’ve played TFM several times now. I love it, love Adam’s vocals. I realize how much I’ve missed something new fromhim that wasn’t just a few seconds long. Song itself seems a little flabby, like it could have used a little editing, a little sharpening. Maybe I think that because I was so used to the snippet and how it was action-packed into a tiny few seconds. This song taken as a whole seems a bit rambling and slower than it has to be. That said, I still love it, still love Adam and am just so thrilled it leaked or whatever it was it did that made it magically appear this morning. Can’t wait to see the video — with all the slower parts it makes me wonder whether we might see some more tender, intimate scenes with Adam. *Faints.*

I’m scared it’s going to disappear so I keep trying to upload it but it keeps saying it can’t be found, even though I am listening to it as I am uploading.
Where is iTunes when you need it? I’ll still buy it, of course, but I just want the YouTube version to tide me over.

    FLAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  150. at first it doesn’t wow me, but the more i listen to it the more i like it.

mp3/mp4 version is way way more better than youtube.

  151. Gah!!!! It’s 4:09AM here and i’ve been trying to wind down– CAN’T DO IT!!!

Maybe because I’ve been listening non stop to the song…?

It is so layered and so beautiful… I cannot stop. The emotions run the gamut and pull me in every time. Love, Hope, Fear, Desperation, Defiance,… and at the end– is it Yearning– or Resignation– or Tenderness?

Thank you , Adam, for this beautiful Time for Miracles.

  152. Too bad it’s with the 2012 logo and not a pic of AL.

Im kinda curious if they’ll change that or if it will always be just the 2012 logo…?

  153. Woot! This is why I check this blog before starting to work.

I’m actually soooo glad that I got up and made myself get a few things done before allowing a morning cup of coffee in front of the computer because now I have a feeling I’ll be glued here for awhile. What a happy surprise! When I went to bed at 1:30 this morning, Amazon had changed the release date to the 27th!!!

Anyway, I love, love, love it! Yes, it’s cheesy in that motion picture movie soundtrack sort of way, but since that’s what it is, I’m neither surprised nor disappointed. Adam’s voice is just amazing, and just to get over 4 consecutive minutes of it makes me jump for joy! I can’t wait for HIS CD to release because I know it will be much more reflective of how he wants to be viewed as an artist, but for what this song is, it’s as beautiful as it can possibly be!

  154. ‘I know this flame isn’t dying, so nothing can stop me from trying’ ¦’ cheesy words for some, but if my loved one is sick and things are very hard and tells me those words , it will be hope I will be thinking about.

Adam did the song writers proud. Their feelings we feel through his voice.

Thank you very much for this music. Thank you very much.

Animated, first the song brought me to tears, then your post brought me to tears. Just beautiful!

  155. Blech.

That 15 random Tweeter girl was right, country rock is right, I would also add generic rock crap. It has some okay stuff, but it doesn’t begin for about 3 minutes into a 4:44 song. Talk about a slow start. Slow, boring, useless start with no power or rock to it.

Thank @God that Adam’s music for his album won’t sound like this. That would suck just like this song does.

  156. I love it! It will be a hit! Even at 4:44!

The intro and build is just beatiful. But the last 1:50! Wow! And it sounds like Adam — no one elese. What more could Adam fans ask for! OK the album!

Regarding the biggest movie of the year comments — OK how about this — featured song in the most world’s expensive movie of the year which is currently predicted to have one of the highesst worldwide grosses of all time.

  157. I live in the Philippines and as some of you may have heard, our country was hit by 2 STRAIGHT TYPHOONS. Hundreds of people died and it is still flooded everywhere. My mom was actually one of the people who was ALMOST swept away by the typhoon. She is still actually traumatized by now.

I can’t believe it but when I made her listen to TFM, she just started CRYING. I’m not joking. SHE WAS CRYING. My mom BARELY cries.

Oh, Adam. The things you do to people.

I just hope that our country will be able to get back up again. I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES. B-)

Hehe, just thought I’d share. :)

  158. It started slower than I imagined it would. Loved the ending…it justified the means, lol.

its a good enough song for a disaster flick, not out of this world awesome, but does the work.

And of course its Adam singing so I love it..his vocals on it are stellar…you see shriek, i see appropriate use of range in an apt rockwail moment!

So bottomline is every one who was predisposed to hate it hates it, everyone who liked the snippet will probably like and love it(no surprises so far here)…Others…err no idea, I’ll wait for a few reviews on this soundtrack

  159. Love it. Love, love, love, LOVE! One of the best parts of the song is when he goes from his full on rock wail to the quiet, almost quavering last line. I get chills.

Is anyone else getting a little Richard Marx (dating myself) vibe early in the song?

  160. Bummer Truthiness, sorry you don’t like. The album single will be out soon… hopefully

  161. FifthHouseSun: Put away the PowerPoints, Big Biz and welcome to the real world of technology fueled by desire.

Yes, this will screw up the week 1 single sales. And make Italy look like the music sales center of the globe.

But let’s not overlook: GLOBAL RELEASE!!!

Adam’s already got a worldwide single. Promoted on the hottest world wide movie. Astonishing. Truly astonishing.”

THIS! Really moving. I feel as proud of him as if he’s a member of my own family! I still can’t believe that people think he’s ‘screaming’. Those are called high notes LOL! Maybe some people have gotten so used to listening to performers who can’t sing – just sort of croon or talk – that they don’t know what real singing is anymore? Didn’t they ever listen to Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Robert Plant, Mick Jagger etc?

  162. All I can say is incredible!!!! Adam’s beautiful voice is perfect. Can’t wait for the video.

  163. It has some okay stuff, but it doesn’t begin for about 3 minutes into a 4:44 song. Talk about a slow start. Slow, boring, useless start with no power or rock to it.

The slow start is what grabs me and pulls me into this song. It’s the angst in his vocie that makes me well up. It is just beautiful. I don’t know if it’s thinking about the movie, or the songwriters’ situation that is having me not be able to get through this song without being in tears!

  164. @sylverine
Maybe some people have gotten so used to listening to performers who can’t sing ‘“ just sort of croon or talk ‘“ that they don’t know what real singing is anymore? Didn’t they ever listen to Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Robert Plant, Mick Jagger etc?

    THIS!

Is anyone else getting a little Richard Marx (dating myself) vibe early in the song?

The sound is very dated but I don’t mind taking it back a bit. I think it’s great, we can recycle fashion, why not music. And yes I can hear the RM comparison.

  166. The one morning I decide to be efficient. Still up @ 8am after going to sleep at 3 am; did some housekeeping, went to the laundry room and made myself ignore the computer.

OMG, when I turned on Twitter. This song is unbelievable. I can’t believe how much I love it. I am so happy for Adam that I can’t even imagine that his mom is feeling more joy than me at the moment.

  167. Horrible, horrible song. It makes No Boundaries sound like an amazing song. That’s how bad this song is.

Now THIS made me cry. Again. Positive thoughts your way, and to your mom.
I’m glad Adam could touch your hearts and perhaps give you a little emotional comfort and release.

  169. ria

after experiencing a series of tragedies here in our country (Philippines), TIME FOR MIRACLES is the best theme song for us..

    Same in Japan.
    I love this song.
And Adam’s voice encourages us to live for tomorrow.
I love, love this song and Adam.

  170. I Love It! I love what his voice does with it. There is totally a place for big rock-y movie ballad like this. I wouldn’t listen to it every day, but I challenge you to tell me that you’ve never belted out don’t wanna miss a thing-type songs along with a band or karaoke after a few drinks. Okay, don’t answer that! I think he’s going to great with this, combined with his reportedly very different album. I repeat myself, but I love mutlimediastar!adam

  171. I simply love it. Some call it cheesy, but I love cheese. I love that stupid cheesy American Idol show, even when I wanted to never watch it again after Adam lost. I love the cheese, the emotions, and sentiment I hear in this song. Some call his awesome range shrieking or screaming. Shrieking or screaming is Danny Gokey singing “Dream On”. Adam has immense talent, that if people will let go of their previous opinions of what they think he is, and simply close your eyes and listen to the words and the voice. If this is what cheese is, I say the world needs more cheese.

  172. Is anyone else getting a little Richard Marx (dating myself) vibe early in the song?

OMG LOL yes, I didn’t make that connection but now that you mention it, it totally does! I love Richard Marx!

the ending is very “queen” IMO.

it’s a great song and while I know that there are some who don’t like his singing style I think what he does with his voice is nothing short of brilliant.

  173. Bravo Animated! I wish Natasha could have lived long enough to hear Adam’s vocals.

I’ m wailing. This is so right.

after experiencing a series of tragedies here in our country (Philippines), TIME FOR MIRACLES is the best theme song for us..

    Same in Japan.
    I love this song.
And Adam’s voice encourages us to live for tomorrow.
I love, love this song and Adam.

He brings so many people together, Japadamania… :)

  175. This song is a lot less cheesy than I was expecting. Any cheese isn’t as apparent because Adam’s vocal is really well done.

ETA: I can’t figure out if I prefer the opening slow part or the latter half. The latter is impressive as hell, but I love the nuances in his voice in the beginning. Good dilemma! Haha.

  176. For myself, I think it is gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. I welled up and everything–partly because the song is powerful, but also partly because I am profoundly happy for Adam that he is living his dream in such spectacular fashion.

  177. Adam sounds like Adam, which is what matters to me most. Have listened to TfM non-stop for an hour and still going strong. My favorite Adam song of all time? No, but it’s for a movie soundtrack, and for that it’s perfect. Great opportunity for him and IMO it’ll be as successful for him as “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was for Aerosmith.

  178. the words

It’s late at night and I can’t sleep
Missing you just runs too deep
Oh I can’t breathe thinking of your smile.

    Every kiss I can’t forget
This aching heart ain’t broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see
Cuz I know this flame isn’t dying
So nothing can stop me from trying

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
    You know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
No I ain’t giving up on us

I just want to be with you
Cuz living is so hard to do
When all I know is trapped inside your eyes

    The future I cannot forget
This aching heart ain’t broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see
Cuz I know this flame isn’t dying
So nothing can stop me from trying

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
    You know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
No I ain’t giving up on us

Baby can you feel it coming?
You know I can hear it,
    Hear every soul,
Baby when you feel me feeling you

    You know it’s time…

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
    You know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love

You know I ain’t giving up on us
You know I ain’t giving up on
Oh I ain’t giving up on us

  179. No one will be able to steal our happy today’ ¦.

NO ONE!!.. We, Adam fans, woke up to this beautiful a-HMAZING voice .. and beautiful morning (in FL at lease). NO ONE will steal our happiness THIS WEEK END!!!!

    DITTO!
I expect to see “critics” out in droves… who cares…I love it and waiting to be able to legally download
Listening for almost two hours now….

Now THIS made me cry. Again. Positive thoughts your way, and to your mom.
I’m glad Adam could touch your hearts and perhaps give you a little emotional comfort and release.

This!!! eyelinerandcigaretts and japadamania and everyone else going through such incredible struggles ‘“ it puts it all into perspective. Our thoughts are with you.

    @animated ‘“ your post FTW!!

  181. MJ’s TII has already been predicted to be a HUGE, HUGE world-wide success. Ticket sales are already going through the roof. The movie is supposed to be incredible. (I bet Academy Award nom and win.) That means millions and millions of people all over the world will also see and hear TfM. Can you just imagine Adam’s voice in surround sound in the IMAX theatre? After TII, Adam will be a household name all over the world.

Sony heads must have been pretty impressed with Adam.

  182. eyelinerandcigarettes

    Hehe, just thought I’d share.

Thank you for sharing, you brought tears to my eyes. I hope all will be well with you and your family. And I wish the Philippines a strong recovery from the floods.

I’m so glad you liked the song. It is indeed a #timeformiracles.

  183. This song is pefect for now. People will relect on their situation and the economy and will connect. Bravo Adam.

  184. delurking to say how much I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

OMG it’s so amazing! I don’t even know what say, his voice is so beautiful and I love the verses, I love the end and everything in between. I keep thinking about the first time we saw Adam and where he is now – and I cry. I can’t help it cause I’m so happy and proud of him!!! I love you Adam!! I hope they release the song this week on iTunes cause I need to buy it, I feel stupid listening to it and loving it so much but not having paid for it. But soon we can!!

The story behind the song is really sad, I hope the songwriters love what Adam did with this song and I think they did. Cause who else could have sung this song like this? I can’t think of anyone with that voice.

This week has srsly been amazing, the best ever, I am so happy that we finally got so much news and I’m so happy that the song is great!! I can’t wait to go watch the movie and then hear his beautiful voice!!!!

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU ADAM!!

I pray that people will love this song and Adam! <3

  185. Brian May was blown away with this song REALLY?Its ok but blown away.

I think Brian May was talking about Adam’s voice/vocal ability on his blog.

  186. A few thoughts…

    1. The man can sing, no doubt about it.
    2. Really like the first 2 verses
    3. Not so much on the chorus
    4. The bridge/3rd verse is not bad, but to me the transition in/out is a bit awkward.
    5. I’m in the ‘not a fan of the Rock wail’ group
    6. There are so many layers to the vocals especially in the final chorus, I’d be interested to see how Adam handles a live performance.

  187. I understand the feeling of wanting to dislike something, but thats all good, nothing is liked by everyone, and TFM is having a much bigger audience to enchant than AI ever did (yes, the world is very big). I will be so proud to hear his voice here in Brazil, were idols hardly ever get any exposure!

So, I embrace the cheese, the song is perfect fo the movie! And although I understand that some people disliked the wails in the show, I dont understand this comment with regard to the studio recording. Adam’s recording voice is so much sweeter that even the wails seem smooth for me. I understand Brian May’s comment.

In summary, Adam couldnt choose the melody or the arrangement, which are ok. The only think he could almost discretionarily control was the vocals, which are superb. He will be AMAZING singing this live!

  188. Thank you Squirrely for The Words!

I can understand that some people don’t like rock ballads. But what’s all about “cheesy” thang? Do people usually answer “I love you” with “Oh, how cheesy of you”?

  189. And of course its Adam singing so I love it..his vocals on it are stellar’ ¦you see shriek, i see appropriate use of range in an apt rockwail moment!

So bottomline is every one who was predisposed to hate it hates it, everyone who liked the snippet will probably like and love it(no surprises so far here)’ ¦Others’ ¦err no idea, I’ll wait for a few reviews on this soundtrack

I love Adam’s singing and don’t hear any shrieking, I hate that term. I hear, as you do, a rock wail and yeah, it appropriate to the music and mood and it’s cool. It’s part of the song I like. But I liked the song much more in the clip of the movie, because it took out some of the flabby beginning and concentrated on the strings, the (few) rock parts of the song and the latter parts of the song when it finally gets going and gets interesting, and yes, when Adam starts with the rock voice thing.

Bummer Truthiness, sorry you don’t like. The album single will be out soon’ ¦ hopefully

I hope it’s out sooner than later. I really do and again, am really glad that his album won’t sound like this song. Yikes! And I hope they don’t change their minds, as they seemed to lately, and put this on his album. It totally wouldn’t fit. Well I hope it won’t fit on it, because the song is nothing special. I doubt this song will do well commerically on it’s own, beyond Adam’s fanbase. Sorry Brian May, I think you’re wrong about the song’s quality and about how successful it will be. Adam’s vocals are nice on this song, and that’s about it.

  190. Does the instrumental right before this verse:

I just want to be with you
Cuz living is so hard to do
When all I know is trapped inside your eyes

    Remind anyone else of “Starlight?”

  191. Love the emotion in the song….I never realized it before but guess I am a cheesy ballad kinda woman because I like the beginning…esp how it pulls u in

  192. after experiencing a series of tragedies here in our country (Philippines), and with a new typhoon hitting us early next week, TIME FOR MIRACLES is the best theme song for us..

Funny thing is, Live Like We’re Dying was my soundtrack as our house was inundated with flood water.

I am sure as the sun rises in the morning that Time For Miracles will be a big hit in our country. Power ballads are HUGE here.

  193. Squirrely– thank you. The lyrics are amazing and heart wrenching, especially for those who know the backstory of the song.

  194. readon

This song is pefect for now. People will relect on their situation and the economy and will connect. Bravo Adam.

Yes, the lyrics have very broad appeal and it does click. Not everything has to be “dance” stuff – we’ll get that soon I hope…together with the electro-metal (what ever that is).

  195. Too bad it’s with the 2012 logo and not a pic of AL.

Sunn posted these instructions on Tuesday for changing the Artwork for a picture in your iTunes (I’ve edited the instructions to fit the context):

If you want a different picture on your Ipod for TFM.
    1. Simply save the picture to your computer
    2. Open Itunes, Go to TFM, right click the song
    3. Choose Get Info
    4. Choose ArtWork.
    5. Click Add. At which point a Browser menu will appear, go to the picture you just saved and click open. You’ll then see the picture in the artwork box.
    6. Simply click Save and the picture will appear as the single Artwork.

You can delete the original cover if you wish

  196. Let me add, while I’m not a fan of the rock wail (and to those who don’t like it, I get how it is perceived as screaming), I think it is perfectly appropriate for a big disaster movie flick. Someone mentioned ‘context’, and I think that’s important.

The Cantiello household seems to summarize the debate well:

@jambajim – The verdict: AWESOME. Perfectly OTT for a big disaster flick. Altho Jess despised it. “He’s just screaming.” Hmm. Will non-Lamberts like it?

  197. mp4 version is better than mp3. I hope it’s available in US soon because I want the full quality of it.

  198. There are so many layers to the vocals especially in the final chorus, I’d be interested to see how Adam handles a live performance.

I bet I will prefer the live performance. (Although I love this one.) My guess is the music will not be as loud, he will probably tone it down a bit….I am hoping he will do with it what he did with Starlight at GMA.

Love the emotion in the song’ ¦.I never realized it before but guess I am a cheesy ballad kinda woman because I like the beginning’ ¦esp how it pulls u in

Me too dsp because I love it all.

  200. I love it and think it will be a huge hit for Adam. It’s infinitely better than most of the crap on the radio today. That’s it. That’s all.

    Off to listen again……

  201. I’m just not feeling this. Like, literally, I feel nothing listening to him sing this. There are times when he gets to me (“Tracks of My Tears”, etc.), but this particular song is a perfect example of his tendency to make everything sound the same. I.E. the shrieking. And I love Meat Loaf and Steven Tyler, so I’m not against overly dramatic displays, trust me. The beginning is pretty good, and I realize he has to build up the ending, but still.

The difference with a song like “Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” is that it was done by a band that already held a certain iconic status and it was heard everywhere during the summer it was released. The last song I can think of to compare to that, off the top of my head, was “Decode” from Twilight, and even that’s not a good example. With New Moon and 2012 opening so close together, I fear 2012 will be completely overshadowed, whether it gets pimped before This Is It or not. Plus, 2012 is getting crapped on quite a bit already; last week’s Entertainment Weekly devoted a whole editorial to the desire to never see it.

  202. Good song, Great vocals, but it’s just so hard to predict what the non-American Idol music buyer will want.

  203. Squirrely’“ thank you. The lyrics are amazing and heart wrenching, especially for those who know the backstory of the song.

Yes, thanks for the lyrics, Squirrely.
But wait. The backstory? What? How did I miss this? What is the backstory?

  204. Sorry Brian May, I think you’re wrong about the song’s quality and about how successful it will be. Adam’s vocals are nice on this song, and that’s about it.

I think Brian May was talking about Adam’s voice/vocal ability on his blog.

    This is what Brian said:
“I’m not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists … but Adam’s voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world. Its an awesome performance. No doubt about it. The world of Rock has a bright new star.”

  205. Yes, thanks for the lyrics, Squirrely.
But wait. The backstory? What? How did I miss this? What is the backstory?

It was writeen by a husband and wife. the wife was dying of cancer. She died a little over a year ago. Listening to it in that context, besides the 2012 context, and it just blows me away.

ETA: Followed instructions and it worked!!!!

  208. Love the song. Love it! Perfectly rangey, OTT, orchestral for a disaster movie soundtrack The man’s voice just cuts right into me. And that’s a good thing!

Ireally do believe that people are entitled to their own opinions, but I personally get so frustrated with the “he’s just screaming” comments, that I have to quit reading to gain some perspective.

So, I stand back and remind myself of what Adam said in the Slezak interview. Referring to his style of performing and how it isn’t for everyone, he said:

“If you don’t like it, go buy the other guys record.”

    Succinctly put, don’t you think?

  209. Adam screeches??? Well, Taylor Swift talks through most of her songs. Does she every really sing a note in her songs? And she’s HUGE. I’ll take Adam’s “singing” over Taylors “singing” everytime. Different tastes make the world go round.

  210. It seems every word I would like to write about TFM and Adam have been used by others .. so my comment can only be like this:

    “THE GLAM IS BACK, MOTHERF****RS!”

  211. Woohooo! Today marks the BEGINNING of all GREAT things to come for Adam!!! Please do count me as one of those who had been playing this INCREDIBLE song over & over again for the past hour and having this huge smile plastered on my face throughout the whole time lol! :-)

It is a time of CELEBRATION for all of Adam’s fans around the world and I can feel this EXCITEMENT right now (even though I live halfway across the world). Like most folks had said, nothing and I mean NOTHING can TAKE AWAY the HAPPINESS of Adam’s fans around the world. :-)

For those who do not (and would not) appreciate Adam’s out of this world vocal prowess and style, I do sympathize with you cuz you do not know what you are MISSING but again to each their own. :-)

  212. When he sings it live I hope he will sometimes change “baby” to “woman”!!!!

Thank you Squirrely for The Words!

I can understand that some people don’t like rock ballads. But what’s all about ‘cheesy’ thang? Do people usually answer ‘I love you’ with ‘Oh, how cheesy of you’ ?

Yes, I do. But, I’m a bitch that way, lol.

The whole rock ballad thing for me = cheese, regardless of the lyrics. It’s over the top, it’s trying to please the ballad lovers and hard rock lovers at the same time. I’ve never enjoyed listening to a single rock ballad, with the exception of Stairway to Heaven and Dream On. For me, after those two it all just went downhill when every metal band included a cheesy ass ballad on their album. IMO.

I just want to hear Adam sing his face off (my face off), and he delivers with this cheesy rock ballad, lol.

  214. The last song I can think of to compare to that, off the top of my head, was ‘Decode’ from Twilight, and even that’s not a good example.

Yeah, I think the movie is going to be a big bomb financially. So that will suck to be associated with that, and this song isn’t good or special enough, in my opinion, to move past that. So that won’t be cool.

And speaking of critics, doubt that many will like this song. Again, I liked the clip with the movie trailer, but am not liking it in it’s full. I will guess that I won’t be alone in this with critics. We’ll see of course, but I won’t be surprised if that is what happens.

  215. So, I stand back and remind myself of what Adam said in the Slezak interview. Referring to his style of performing and how it isn’t for everyone, he said:

‘If you don’t like it, go buy the other guys record.’

    Succinctly put, don’t you think?

I was just going to post something very similar….and yes Succinctly put…don’t like it, great! Plenty of music out there to buy…I just know where my monies going…..

  216. We can dissect the song, and criticize all the technical aspects, in the same way we can dismember a rose and scrutinize every petal, stamen, pollen and all.But we forget that a rose was not intended for such examination , and a song was not written for such scrutiny.
But what makes a song a human art is because it is first and foremost the expression of man’s feelings and aspirations .
Time for Miracles will be many different things to many different people. But how they interpret it will not take away the essence that it was first and foremost written to be an expression of deep seated feelings. And that the voice that was able to express it, brings to life what is not tangible.
I am still very grateful that Natasha Shneider left us this legacy. And that Adam Lambert did her memory proud.
I will now excuse myself and continue to listen to Time for Miracles and be in the moment .

  217. The first thing that pulled me to Adam was his wonderful High voice/Rock, then all the other fluff. This Song is a Cool Rock song…. I sure hope his record isn’t a Man Gaga / Katy perry pop tart!

When he sings it live I hope he will sometimes change ‘baby’ to ‘woman’ !!!!

    And have Emo hair!!!!

  219. Wow, almost five minutes of that voice. Such richness and range, and soaring emotion. I love it! I can’t wait to buy it. I guess now I switch from jonesing for TfM to jonesing for his album single, then jonesing for the rest of his album….

  220. Song is just OK, while Adam’s execution is brilliant. After a few listens I get this feeling Emmerich used Adam to hype the film. A better song, sung by Adam , would probably have overshadowed the movie itself. I just feel if it wasn’t Adam singing TFM, it would just be meh.

  221. Let me just say this. I love Adam but I don’t worship him. When I first listened to the song on computer, I was like all right, I like it, it’s good, but I wasn’t crying or anything. BUT, after I listened to it on my iPod, I was speechless for a second. I had chill and was melted. Adam’s voice is really gorgeous and the song is really really good. I don’t know and don’t care if others like it or not. As of now, I am taking my Adam and me alone time and savoring every second of the song.

  222. What instrument is playing before the lines
“I just want to be with you”…ding ding electric sound….just love that sound

  223. Animated? Who are you? I adore you!

  224. The first thing that pulled me to Adam was his wonderful High voice/Rock, then all the other fluff. This Song is a Cool Rock song’ ¦. I sure hope his record isn’t a Man Gaga / Katy perry pop tart!

    I feel the same.

I don’t feel the need to analyze every note of a song or performance. I just know what I like when I hear it. I think that is the way most people are and based on that thinking, I think most people will like this song.

…and like others, I don’t get the hate for power ballads. *shrugs*

  225. I really liked the snip very much.

Like the first half of the song, but the second half is too noisy for me. I do not think I want to listen to it at home or in my car, but I think it will sound great in that disaster movie, and in the video of this song.

Fortunatly, it is not Adam’ s first single from his album. I am a little bit scared now since the producer of this song has about 6 songs on Adam’s album.

I’d agree.. I think this is why Adam had been sort of distancing his album from this song since the story broke about 2012. I like this song, but I am eager to hear his music and find out what his vision is.

  227. I still can’t believe that people think he’s ‘screaming’. Those are called high notes LOL!

Actually I don’t really like this song much… and I love Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Robert Plant, and Mick Jagger. Adam doesn’t sound like a clone of them (which is good, right?)… so it doesn’t really wash that if you aren’t feeling Adam’s high end of his range, you don’t like those other artists either. I think “screaming” is more how it *sounds* to someone rather than any sort of take on his vocal technique, really. And the implication that if you don’t find his high end of his range aurally appealing that you don’t know music/don’t know what “real singing” is… a bit of a stretch. Some folks like it, some don’t, that’s why we have such a variety of music out there, and thank goodness for that because my iPod is filled with a veritable buffet of different kinds of music. This song won’t be on there, but I’m sure some of the stuff from his album will be.

  228. BTW, Called Barnes and Noble just a few minutes ago- they carry Details mag and will have the november issue in either this or next Tuesday Just fyi

  229. Is it ranking in Belgium, the Netherlands or Italy?

It’s number 61 in Pop in the Netherlands.

    A few thoughts’ ¦

I pretty much agree with everything here, but I just wanted to add a few comments.

    1. I disagree that it’s better than IDWMAT. It’s not as edgy sounding IMO.
    2. LOL @ the person who said she didn’t like it and it was all screaming. *point and laugh*. I’m not a fan of the rock wail either, but it’s only weird because of the last chorus.
    3. The chorus could’ve definitely used more work, it’s a bit boring IMO.

I will give it a 9/10. Half a point for the pretty lame chorus (didn’t like it during that snippet and still don’t, but it isn’t horrible), half a point for the last chorus(it’s just too chaotic and all over the place, IMO) Other than that it’s perfect and Adamgasm-worthy.
    3. Verdict: Epic.

  232. I actually think Adam’s vocals are superb and the lyrics are really good.

  233. There is nothing wrong with the song. It’s a great beautiful touchy song and Adam’s vocal just takes it to another level. I love power ballad. I am so loving it. Thank you Adam. One down, many more to go. Woo hoo. I hugged my husband and danced with him listening to the song. It’s perfect, it makes me want to love and cherish life more.

  234. Anyone know where we can buy it??

iTunes in Italy, the Netherlands or Belgium. You just have to have a local credit card or iTunes gift card.

  235. It’s number 61 in Pop in the Netherlands.

    Thanks Kirsten :)
Do you have some special insider access to these things or is there a way to track it if you DONT live in the countries themselves?

  236. The song is just okay. Adam’s voice on the other hand is just incredible. I can’t wait for his real first single and see how he kills a song that is completely his.

  237. This movie is not going to be a bomb. This is coming from a disaster movie finatic. People like me live for this over the top, totally unblievable, crappy disaster movies. There are millions of people around the world who love these movies. People are sick of these stupid, predictable, dating movies. Been there and done it several times. You can say a lot about these movies, but they are unpredictable and pure fun. Adam singing the closing song, is just icing on the cake. This movie is not going to win a Oscar, but it’s going to make a lot more money than the movies who do get nominated.

  238. how does one get into those international itunes sites?

Open iTunes. Go to the store. Scroll to the bottom of the page and switch the country.

  239. last week’s Entertainment Weekly devoted a whole editorial to the desire to never see it.

2012 is not an Adam Lambert movie.

2012 tanking is not a problem for Adam. Actually, bad buzz for 2012 means Sony will be cranking TFM up to full volume in the commercials and promos trying to buy some kind of opening weekend.

Utter failure for 2012 will mean millions of people worldwide still showed up and saw his name, heard his voice. DVD’s will still be sold with the “Making of TFM” special added feature. Probably with new Adam footage added for every dive below break even of 2012.

And millions of people worldwide will see the promo on TII. 2012 is nothing but bonanza for Adam.

  240. Open iTunes. Go to the store. Scroll to the bottom of the page and switch the country.

Thanks for the info Kirsten :)

  241. Thank you so much, Kristen. His vocals are so moving and amazing–it makes you cry!!!

  242. We are so lucky! TFM is the first new appetizer on the Lambert smorgasboard and it’s just whetting my appetite for more from Chef Adam’s kitchen!

I’ve been listening to the TFM mp3 on replay and can’t wait to buy it and gift it to family and friends who are going through tough economic times and personal problems. There have been over a million plays of the TFM snippet from AOL and YouTube so I doubt I am alone in loving Adam’s vocals and the message of Hope. My friends are not music critics – they listen to a variety of songs that resonate emotionally with their lives and this song does exactly what Adam said – it tugs on your heart.

We are heading into the holiday season when OTT inspirational songs like TFM are expecially appropriate so we may be hearing it right through January. And for the posters on this board who are experiencing floods and typhoons and illness, just want to say my prayers are with you and your families. There will be better times.

Animated? Who are you? I adore you!

THIS^^^ Animated, you rule. And speaking as someone who has a loved one who is not expected to live more than the next few days, I’m telling you, your perspective is a breath of fresh air.

    Thank you.

  244. Ok, I am on listen 50, growing to love it more and more. I personally like the last 3/4 of the song the best. The beginning is OK.(seems slow) but after the 1st minute it really kicks in for me and builds to an awesome climax. The emotion he evokes is wonderful. By the way I am a little tired that a song being “Cheesy” is made out by some to be a bad thing. (Diane Warren is Laughing all the way to the bank) But whatever! I do agree it might not be a “Dream On” but it is better then most in the genre. Adam’s vocals make it even better. IMHO. Going to listen to 51,52,53,54 etc…

  245. gee, I can’t believe RL was so busy, I am so late to the Adamazing party!!!

  246. Don’t love the song but like it. Am a person that doesn’t like alot of screaming, but I don’t think his really screaming. He sounds like his just really getting into the song. I think his singing in the song is fantasic. I’D give Adam a 9 and the song it’s self a 6 1/2. Am surprised because I thought i’d give the song a 4 when I just heard that little snippnet. I knew Adam when sing it really great thou. He was my second favorite from the show. Can’t wait for his single thou.

  247. It seems that the minute Adam raises his voice, people call it “screeching/screaming”. I hear no screaming or screeching at all in this song. I hear beautiful heart-felt vocals that IMO, only Adam can sing. No wonder they asked him to sing it rather than “the other guy”.

  248. how does one get into those international itunes sites?

Open iTunes. Go to the store. Scroll to the bottom of the page and switch the country.

HELP – how do you change it back?

  249. is it ranking in Belgium, the Netherlands or Italy?

It’s number 61 in Pop in the Netherlands.

I did check on the top 200 singles list (all genres) and it’s not yet listed as of 10:19 CDT.

I have issues with Adam’s upper register on occasion, so I won’t comment on his vocals. We all know that Adam has a fantastic voice. But I will relay what my husband said in regards to liking/disliking the single. (And he’s listened to rock since the late 60’s.) His exact words were “It’s Ok, I guess”.

So there you have a review(?) of the song from someone who is outside of the Idol bubble. Knowing my hubby, that response usually means that he neither dislikes it or likes it, and that he wouldn’t buy it but wouldn’t turn the dial if he heard it on the radio.

  250. 2012 will resonate around the world because many believe in the Mayan prophesies–
Also, the song will resonate because this recent period has been so full of international hardship!!!

  251. I think ‘screaming’ is more how it *sounds* to someone rather than any sort of take on his vocal technique, really. And the implication that if you don’t find his high end of his range aurally appealing that you don’t know music/don’t know what ‘real singing’ is’ ¦ a bit of a stretch. Some folks like it, some don’t, that’s why we have such a variety of music out there, and thank goodness for that because my iPod is filled with a veritable buffet of different kinds of music. This song won’t be on there, but I’m sure some of the stuff from his album will be.

Well I get what you’re saying and agree to say that people who dismiss not liking Adam’s voice and not getting music isn’t true. I would also say it’s not just a stretch, it’s annoying. People can just not like his voice and totally get music in general and rock music in particular.

On the other hand I can get the frustration when people who don’t like the higher register of his voice call it shrieking or screaming because it’s not any of those things, it just is a high register voice wailing out. If people want to say it ‘sounds like nothing, but screaming or shrieking to them,’ that would a fine statement to make. But saying it is shrieking and screaming is inaccurate and to me, equally annoying as people who dismiss those who don’t like that type of singing to me.

  252. it was first and foremost written to be an expression of deep seated feelings. And that the voice that was able to express it, brings to life what is not tangible.

Animated, thanks for reminding that music has power. That an artist can use intention and talent no matter the vehicle.

eyelinerandcigarettes, crying is a good thing when it is needed. Blessings to you and your family.

  253. I like it, don’t love it. The first couple lines of the chorus get a little screamy, to my ears, anyway. I know that’s Adam going up into his falsetto, but that part of it doesn’t quite work for me. I LOVED the beginning of the song, and in general the verses are nice. Adam sounds great, and the song isn’t quite as cheesy lyrically or production wise as I feared. So overall, I’m positive about TFM, but I don’t love it. I know I’m not going to see the movie, as I’m not a fan of noisy disaster films anyway. I may buy this song, although I can’t see myself listening to it much. I do want to support Adam, though…

Still way more interested in his album and his own single than I am in TFM. But at least now everyone can calm down a bit about not hearing any of his new music. So Yay for that!

  254. So there you have a review(?) of the song from someone who is outside of the Idol bubble. Knowing my hubby, that response usually means that he neither dislikes it or likes it, and that he wouldn’t buy it but wouldn’t turn the dial if he heard it on the radio.

I’ll take it – I feel that way about a lot of songs.

  255. I love/loved Freddie Mercury’s voice. A few Queen songs were brilliant, but most would have been nothing special for me without Freddie’s voice. Adam does the same, his voice elevates songs for me. It’s so distinctive and amazingly acrobatic. TfM gives his voice the space to build and soar, and my heart gets a little bit of a lift just listening to him. I’m really loving Adam’s voice in this song. Wow.

  256. Some of the most beautiful voices are dismissed by the masses because it seems to be a difficult process for many to just listen, and I’m basing this on the fact that opera doesn’t seem to appeal to a real large demographic. And who among us hasn’t made fun of the wailing tenor and the clutch her heart soprano as they go wickedly high and totally OTT. But man, these people can sing…we just don’t hear it.

For me, because my formative music years were all about the voice it’s a lot easier to relate to someone like Adam. I loved my Glam rock wailers as much as I did the “screeching” of all those great guitar solos..and those guitarists always made you sit up and take notice when they were playing those high, high wailing notes and EVERYBODY loved it!

As far as reviewers and critiques for this song. They will be all over the board just like the comments here. It will be panned just as much as it will be praised…and I won’t give a f*ck. I personally like the song and especially Adam’s voice. Is it the best ever–Nope. But it will work wonderfully for what is was intended: a movie theme.

What we are hearing today is only a small portion of Adam’s repertoire. It isn’t quintessential Adam…just a very small piece. But a very nice piece.

  257. HELP ‘“ how do you change it back?

Squirrely, just do the same thing you just did. Go to the home page, scroll to the bottom, click on the country listed, and select the one you want from the list.

  258. Nice vocals but the song is a bit bland/generic for me. But i think it’s a good song for the movie though — probably better than the movie ;)

  259. Hey girlygirl!
how many pages does ontd_ai’s tfm flail thread have now?
(i hate when they lock stuff :/)

  260. Ok now that I have heard all three songs from Adam ( and yes I know this is not Adam’s single from his new Album), Kris, Allison. Here is my take:

    As a Song,
    1) Allison’s Friday I’ll be over U
    2) Adam TFM / Kris LLWD -Tie

    Vocal:
    1) Adam
    2) Allison
    3) Kris

As a representative of who they are:

    1) Allison
    2) Kris
    3) Adam

Just my humble take. I love all three so I am not trying to put any of them down just my honest assessment at this point.

  261. I have heard better songs…but not many done better. JUST CAN’T EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVE HIS VOICE!!! I guess what it comes down to though is that I feel that when he sings (or talks for that matter) he allows himself to be vulnerable, he lets you in. How…sexy is that, how charming, how much money is he going to make because of it, tons I hope.

  262. HELP ‘“ how do you change it back?

Squirrely, just do the same thing you just did. Go to the home page, scroll to the bottom, click on the country listed, and select the one you want from the list.

Thanks, I didn’t think to click the icon – I was looking for the words.

  263. I think this link sounds better

I have to run and didn’t have time to listen, but I took your word for it and switched the youtube link in the post to the one you recommended.

  264. The song has been on repeated play in my headphones since download. And I kid you not when I say the song gets better and better with every listen.

There is so much nuance to it, so many layers structured to to expand with the emotion of the song. Voice layers, instrumental layers that increase in urgency as the song runs it’s course, culminating in this epic crescendo that takes your breath away.

The lyrics are so touching they made me, a girl who has loved and sadly lost, weep.

It’s a very good song. The vocals are out of this world good. truly sublime. I can’t find a flaw in adam’s rendition. It’s so heartfelt so passionate.

Kudos, Kudos, Kudos to bb Adam.

    Black Swan.

  265. does anyone know why amazon now lists tfm single dowload as not available until 10/27? it used to say 10?20

Thank you Squirrely for The Words!

I can understand that some people don’t like rock ballads. But what’s all about ‘cheesy’ thang? Do people usually answer ‘I love you’ with ‘Oh, how cheesy of you’ ?”

Thank you for saying this. The word “cheesy” is so overused here on this blog. I don’t know how else a song dealing with feelings and emotions is supposed to be expressed.

  267. If you haven’t heard the song on an iPod or mp3 player, go do it now. It’s so much better than listening to it on the computer. The song is great, the vocal is superb, the lyrics are beautiful. I officially love the song.

  268. Perfect song for a disaster movie, I really like it and love Adam ´s voice, I wish we can get to see Adam sing it live ´cause I think it would be amazing and I can ´t wait for the music video!

  269. Animated and Jill16…thank you for your comments! The song takes me to a better place…so beautifully, perfectly sung. No one but Adam can do this! The high notes are out-of-this world with emotion and the soft ones so tender!! Need to listen again…Haven’t heard Adam since 5 minutes ago!

  270. Not really liking the song. Adam does a good work with it, although by the end the high notes can be too much. But the song is not really big, especially if we remember what it was said about it by Brian. It doesn’t have that impact that songs like I Don’t Wanna Miss A Think or My Heart Will Go On have.
Yeah, it’s your typical disaster movie song that you won’t remember the next day.
I guess all the hype about it was a way to promote the movie or something, because the song really is just average at best.

  271. I need help with this: I see comments re chorus… I do not hear a chorus anywhere at all. What I do hear are many layers of Adam’s voice harmonizing. So, if there is in fact chorus used – can you please point to the mark – so I can find it..
    thx

  272. Ha! Dhunken, I was just thinking of how I would rate this song now that I’ve heard a song, though still not a single, against Kris and Allison’s. I would put songs I liked as 1.)FIBOU 2.)TfM 3.) LLWD. And I would have put representative of them 1) Allison 2.) Kris a distant 3.) Adam.

  273. The song is not bad at all, but I agree with leome when it comes to the latter part of the song. I think Rob let Adam do a little too much there at the end.

But again, pretty good song. It’ll go on my ipod once it’s released.

I’m betting this movie does make more money overseas than in the U.S. and it has nothing to do with people being sick of romantic comedies or any other type of movie. (Frankly, they don’t make very many good romantic comedies these days because they seem to have lousy, sophomoric writers in “Hollywood.” Plus, they don’t sell as well overseas so studios are predisposed to finance these big, special effects films — no matter their lack of artistic merit.)

What it has to do with is that you don’t have to know English to “enjoy” a movie like 2012, nor even be a westerner. Movies with big special effects, violence, and a lot of action play well overseas because they are not culture specific. Romantic comedies, dramas, etc, are pretty culture bound, require a greater understanding of subtlety and society, and rely much more heavily on good scripts, good acting and plot. You don’t have to worry about any of that with 2012. As for predictable. I would say disaster films are just as prone to predictability as any other genre.

  275. Remember this song is like a commercial for Adam to sell himself to the world. Just like those late night commercials that make huge amounts of people reach for the phone to buy and some people to change the channel, this song is just an introduction to the masses.

International exposure to get people interested in Adam and giving them a reason to seek him out and discover him as an artist.

For the song itself; he does sing it as beautifully as the song could possibly have been sung. I believe the song will be very successful if not fantastically so.

I believe there are enough people who will get the message and equate it to their own lives (like many hit by disaster who have commented in this thread) and many more who will be pulled in by the lyrics like; “The future I cannot forget/ This aching heart ain’t broken yet” that line is truly beautiful.

Bravo to Adam for proving again he can sing anything.
Bravo to Sony and 19 for scoring a great gig.
Bravo to whoever inside Sony decided to add the video to This Is It world wide.

Can’t wait to hear the eclectic album that will again show the world, now partly interested in Adam because of a simple soundtrack song, that he is amazing and can indeed sing anything.

  276. So there you have a review(?) of the song from someone who is outside of the Idol bubble. Knowing my hubby, that response usually means that he neither dislikes it or likes it, and that he wouldn’t buy it but wouldn’t turn the dial if he heard it on the radio.

I’ll take it ‘“ I feel that way about a lot of songs.

I do too on many songs when I only hear them once. But also there are many songs I was not so impressed with upon 1st or 2nd hearing and then wound up loving the song after hearing it 10-15 times. That is why I never fully judges a song on the first hearing because there are very few songs I love right off the bat.

  277. While I don’t really love the song, the vocals are wonderful. Love the last part and the rock wail the best. Adam can do no wrong here. However, I expect that his album will be different and I will love that, too.

  278. THIS SOUNDS FANTASTIC!!!!!!

Even after all this time, I still can’t get over Adam’s range. What a voice!! i can’t wait to download it whenever it comes to the U.S.

  279. leome — different strokes for different folks…i couldn’t disagree more…this song has been running thru my head since i first heard the preview a few days ago…..i think the last half is spectacular ….and hearing a song a few times on your computer is not going to have the same impact as hearing it in a movie theater, or seeing the video, or hearing it a few times in stereo etc…i don’t think dwmat or mhwgo (neither of which i particularly liked) had a big impact upon first listen…it takes hearing them multiple times and in multiple ways and in context..but again. not everyone is going to like the same thing

  280. Jim Cantiello tweeted his reaction to TFM. He loved it (his wife, on the other hand, hated it)!

  281. While I don’t really love the song, the vocals are wonderful. Love the last part and the rock wail the best. Adam can do no wrong here. However, I expect that his album will be different and I will love that, too.

Thats what I always loved about Adam. He can do so many different songs because of the type of voice and range he has. Not everyone can say that. Now that I’ve heard the whole song I can definitely see why Brian May would praise it so much.

  282. Is anyone else getting a little Richard Marx (dating myself) vibe early in the song?

I don’t know who said this, but saw someone quoting and I have to agree. I noticed it when we first heard the snippet and now with the full song. lol
Well, I only know one Richard Marx song, lol but that’s what it reminds.

  283. Its interesting that they released the song in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy first.

  284. I love the song .. it’s extremely catchy and very commercial .. I’ve listened to it about 10 times in a row and I can’t get it out of my head .. I think I’ll be annoying my family by humming it all day .. which is exactly what the movie/song producers will want.

I have to admit it’s a bit more “pop-y” than I expected . the end is very “rock” but the verse is more “pop” to me .. but that’s not a problem for me as I like that stuff anyway.

It’s been bugging me since I heard it trying to remember what the verse of the song reminds me of … and it’s Robbie Williams’ “Advertising Space” …. not the chorus but I think that parts of the verse of “TIM” has a similar melody to the verse of “Advertising Space”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wl3CGQP1gFQ

Great job by Adam .. can’t wait til it’s available to download on iTunes UK .. and am even more excited to hear his own stuff on his album.

  285. I’m feeling a little let down after all the hype. :( The song is meh and the ending – well not what sounds like pleasure to my ears. Glad you guys like it – that’s what counts.

I guess all the hype about it was a way to promote the movie or something, because the song really is just average at best

I would agree with all of this, but the high notes stuff, I happen to like them here and I don’t like them all the time, so not like it’s just that I’m an Adamtard.

And thinking of radio play, yeah, that will be a tough sell in my book. What format would it go under? AC? HAC? umm yeah.

  287. Rickey from Rickey.org posted the lyrics. From what I know of the movie they fit.

    Lyrics

It’s late at night and I can’t sleep
Missing you just runs too deep
Oh I can’t breathe thinking of your smile.

    Every kiss I can’t forget
This aching heart ain’t broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see
Cuz I know this flame isn’t dying
So nothing can stop me from trying

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
    You know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
No I ain’t giving up on us

I just want to be with you
Cuz living is so hard to do
When all I know is trapped inside your eyes

    The future I cannot forget
This aching heart ain’t broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see
Cuz I know this flame isn’t dying
So nothing can stop me from trying

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
    You know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
No I ain’t giving up on us

Baby can you feel it coming?
You know I can hear it,
    Hear every soul,
Baby when you feel me feeling you

    You know it’s time’ ¦

    Baby you know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
    You know that
    Maybe it’s time for miracles
Cuz I ain’t giving up on love

You know I ain’t giving up on us
You know I ain’t giving up on
Oh I ain’t giving up on us

  288. dhunken – I do too on many songs when I only hear them once. But also there are many songs I was not so impressed with upon 1st or 2nd hearing and then wound up loving the song after hearing it 10-15 times.

Beyonce songs do that to me – takes about 4 or 5 listens before I like them.

  289. Reminder:

Please remember to respect the opinions of everyone who visits this thread. I’ll be deleting all attempts to run off or criticize the so-called “naysayers” who visit the thread.

Posters who resort to ridiculing or mocking other posters will be put into moderation. Thank you.

  290. I’m betting this movie does make more money overseas than in the U.S.

Ofcourse it is. You’re comparing World revenue with a single country’s revenue.

This movie will be no 1 first week, knocked off by New Moon second week. It will make a bundle globally. Disaster movies always make money, it’s just a matter of how much.

  291. I waited so long to hear the full song…But I found it kind of boring and plodding…not exciting like Adam is…and like I thought it would be. I also can’t stand how the word “ain’t” is used so much. I’m sorry, but the bad grammer annoys me.

  292. I don’t care the first verse of the song. Adam’s “gentle” voice doesn’t do it for me, it just sounds like he would be using only the first layer of his voice, all sloppy.

The rest of the song is great. And I’m surprised myself noticing that I actually think that the more he wails, the better the song goes! :)

Also, it’s a good thing that the song won’t be on is album (do we have a confirmation of this?), since I don’t think that it’s his style or that it would fit in the style of his album. When Annie Lennox published her first solo album Diva, she left out her movie hit “Lovesong for a Vampire”, which wouldn’t have fit in the album’s style. At the time I didn’t like her decision (because you couldn’t purchase single songs for a dollar then) but now I think that it was a good decision to leave the sure-shot single from the album.

  293. Back after a while away to find TFM released! Okay, here is the response of one person who totally adores’ Adam’s voice and cannot wait for his album, for what it is worth.
I was initially disappointed to the point that I almost didn’t finish listening (yes, I know that this verges on sacrilege). Listened through once…just meh. Cheesy lyrics, very repetitive, way too much orchestra, Adam’s voice lost in the strings.
Read a few hundred comments (!!!) here on the blog. Reflected for a while, then listened again, to hear the things other people heard.
Thought about its function, as a movie blockbuster song.
Okay, I still don’t love it, but I can admire it for what it is. Movie music always has too much orchestra, and usually has cheesy lyrics.
I do think that the video (the first time most people will hear the music) will totally put it into a different context, as several others have said. Filmed focused on Adam, his eyes, this will add a lot of “compelling” factor. I can definitely see people who do not yet know Adam being very impressed and wanting more.
I hope that his album is not like this – I seriously want better lyrics, for example. And (okay, I am going to duck) I really hope that Adam’s enunciation is crisper on his album; I think that consonants are not bad things.
Having said the above, I cannot get the song out of my head (ah, movie music guys know how to mess with us!).
So I am not as disappointed as I was at first listen, but I am also glad to know (as much as anyone can know anything in the shifting sands of Adamland these days) that his album will offer something different for us.
Thanks to all for many thoughtful comments that helped me to listen differently.

  294. I’m betting this movie does make more money overseas than in the U.S.

What I’m saying is that it’ll be a bigger hit overseas and proportionally it will make more money abroad.

  295. About radio play………..

I don’t think this song was meant for radio play. It was recorded for a very specific reason…a movie theme song. It will be heard by everyone that sees the movie, and will be shown as a visual video, I am sure. It was never intended to score big on the charts…not its purpose. And it wasn’t written to highlight the singer…the singer just sang the song.

So radio play and I-tunes ranking and all that stuff is totally irrelevant to the song. In fact, I feel that Adam (based on his interview comments) doesn’t want this song defining him at all!!

I waited so long to hear the full song’ ¦But I found it kind of boring and plodding’ ¦not exciting like Adam is’ ¦and like I thought it would be. I also can’t stand how the word ‘ain’t’ is used so much. I’m sorry, but the bad grammer annoys me.

    LOL….are you a teacher? ;-)

  297. Ha. Jim C. tweeted these:

jambajim: Personally, I think this song will be just as big as Aerosmith’s ballad. Time for Miracles > I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing. Yay @adamlambert

jambajim Jess is now hiding under the bed. Haha. Chillax, friends. Everyone’s entitled to their own (wrong) opinions.

  298. In fact, I feel that Adam (based on his interview comments) doesn’t want this song defining him at all!!

I get the same feeling, Tess, and having heard the song I think I understand why that would be. Most people will not take the time we have taken to really listen, think, analyze…they will like it or not, and then that is what it is. And may transfer that opinion to whether or not they will buy the album.

So TFM is really a double-edged sword. LOTS of exposure. But.

  299. In fact, I feel that Adam (based on his interview comments) doesn’t want this song defining him at all!!

Wow… I didn’t get that at all. Its funny how people interpret things completely different.

  300. I thought it was okay at best. Didn’t find it memorable at all. Started cringing st about 3:40i really don’t like musicians when the glory notes feel as though my ear drums might explode….

  301. OMG i have already listened to that tubey vid like 5 times and I only found out about it like 20 mins ago. I truly honestly LOVE IT! I think half my ecstacy was relief!

  302. Ofcourse it is. You’re comparing World revenue with a single country’s revenue.

This movie will be no 1 first week, knocked off by New Moon second week. It will make a bundle globally. Disaster movies always make money, it’s just a matter of how much.

So true. Besides, movie revenue is down across the board. But everything will be forgotten once New Moon comes out.

LOL Truthiness….It seems like we are of like minds on the rankings too!… :-)

  304. “‘LOL’ ¦.are you a teacher?”

Haha…no i’m not…but I DO work in a school! Its just always been one of my pet peeves. I’ve never let any of my kids use that word.

  305. I never got the impression that Adam didn’t want the song defining him as much as he didn’t want the song confusing people who might think this is what his album will sound like and then they find it’s totally different.

This song nods to the classic rock style that he’s said countless times that he absolutely loves. He really gave it that 70/80s classic rock ballad flavor. It’s very reminisent of Queen, on their “it’s a kind of magic” album.

What will be great is this song will open up lots of people who didn’t know anything about Adam to listening to his new music. Some will not like this stuff he does on his album and that’s okay BUT some will and those people will have given him a chance based on this song. That is HUGE!

  306. For whoever asked, ontd_ai is up to 4670 comments, or 71 pages.

    Thanks :)

  307. Successfully loaded TFM via YouTube onto iPod, but, yes, will still purchase legit when I can.
I have never understood the screaming/shrieking criticism and can only assume those comments come from a place of hate, ignorance or just simply not liking that style of singing. I, on the other hand, see it as one of the many marvelous styles in Adam’s arsenal of awesomeness. So I am a happy camper today with this unexpected treasure.
Now onto RL and the new miracles that await.
Thanks, Adam, for the gift of your music. Here’s to many, many more, different, varied and beautiful.

  308. I thought TFM was alright. I really liked the beginning but towards the middle and end, not so much. Overall, I think with the visuals in the movie, the song will (can’t think of a word ..lol) coordinate? better. …(is that the right word? ..idk)

  309. I love it! I can see the Adam walking down that path with falling victims and fire with panic see him walk singin this song so beautiful. I am happy.

  310. I can’t wait to hear this song in all it’s glory. In a theater, surround sound, THX or the finest Dolby money can buy. In my headphones, it sounds heavenly, but hearing it in the theater will be epic. His voice has such nuance, such feeling, no same-old, same-old from Adam, I love it. There ain’t another singer who could do it justice. Like he said, they wanted to grab people by the heart with the song. Mission accomplished in my case, ain’t no doubt about it!

    Squee.

  311. TFM is being pulled off Youtube fast.

I looked at TFM sales in Italy and it looks like it’s selling well. The bars are all inked out.

I love it! I can see the Adam walking down that path with falling victims and fire with panic see him walk singin this song so beautiful. I am happy.

You ain’t the only one I feel the same way.

  313. I LOVE IT! It is classic ADAM! I down loaded but will buy when it is available and will make all my friends buy (those who I have previously “shared” with). I really LOVE the song.

  314. So, I sent the youtube link to a friend of mine, who I jokingly refer to as a music snob – she knows a ton about music going way back. She watches AI pretty religiously, but has never gotten too involved in the post-show careers of the idols. This past season she didn’t really have a favorite, but like me she wasn’t much of an Adam fan… appreciated his skill, but he was too OTT for her. She liked S7 much better, especially DC and Michael Johns. With that context, here is her response to my email:

The song is good – he almost sounds a little like Richard Marx. HOwever, as it continued to play I could just see his face as he hit those high notes. If I just listen and never have to SEE him sing it…It may be a hit. Well, let me correct that statement – this is a hit. It is just “him”.

  315. I have to say what I love about it, is that Adam made this song his. He song with passion and relayed the message in the song. Anyone can listen to that song and know, it’s Adam. It’s not one of those songs that you could throw in a dozen different people and it would sound the same. How many people could you put in Adam’s place, and make this song come alive. As for comparing Adam’s song with the other idols, it would end up being an unfair comparison. Adam actually has people talking about his carrer and him personally. Sorry, but no one is talking about the other idols, because they haven’t generated any interest in their music. Maybe that will change once their album comes out.

  316. puff into thin air…to all that didn’t hear it yet…you tube has pulled

  317. ………Baby you know that Maybe it’s time for miracles Cuz I ain’t giving up on love You know that Maybe it’s time for miracles
…… oh sorry can’t seem to get the song out of my head….find myself impulsively just singing the song out loud….(no where near as good as Adam, Sorry neighbors!)….anyway I wanted to help those who find his power singing at the end of the song detrimental to their ears (bleeding)…When the song comes on the Radio (and it will be on the Radio believe me)…The buttons on your radio are not just for show. When you press them it changes to another radio station were you can hear as many current auto tuned songs as you like. There is also a dial that you can turn to actually shut the radio off….Just thought I would be helpful as I would not want anyone’s ears to bleed. This has been my public service announcement. Hopefully this was helpful…..

  318. Jim Cantiello tweeted his reaction to TFM. He loved it (his wife, on the other hand, hated it)!

    He should dump her.

hee. J/K. On the other hand, he does need to stop drinking. Or tweeting. One or the other because drinking and tweeting don’t mix.

Has an acoustic cover of this song shown up on Youtube yet? It might be just the thing for those folks whose ears hear only screaming.

  319. TFM is being pulled off Youtube fast.

That is like closing the barn door after the cow has bolted. As fast as it’s pulled new ones will pop up. It ain’t going away. If someone doesn’t want the song to be downloaded for nothing they just better release it!!

  320. It lacks the Kashmir bridge from the AOL vid, but it’s still a beautiful song.

This is from a comment by Sunn all the way back on page 1. Haven’t had time to read the thread, so this has probably already been said (many times), but the “Kashmir” bridge is still there, it just has his vocal over it now.

  321. LOL about the grammar – I’m an English major and a proofreader by trade, music lyrics generally make me cringe :)

  322. Durn iTunes won’t let me pretend to be Belgian. I’ll have to go with my overly crackly YouTube version for a while, but that’s okay. Someday I’ll learn to use my Adobe Soundbooth to get rid of that noise.

I really like the song. I hear Aerosmith, late 70s classic rock elements, and perhaps a wee bit of country where he sings, “Oh I can’t breathe thinking of your smile.”

Can’t wait to buy my legit, cleaned-up version next week.

  323. As for comparing Adam’s song with the other idols, it would end up being an unfair comparison. Adam actually has people talking about his career and him personally. Sorry, but no one is talking about the other idols, because they haven’t generated any interest in their music. Maybe that will change once their album comes out.

    I agree with this.

  324. Adam can sing me the telephone book in any style he wants and I will listen and buy, I love all of his styles but I just feel that this song fell a little flat people have offered different opinions on different parts of the song, I do not feel it has anything to do with Adam it is just the way this song has been put together that there is just something missing not enough meat to hold it all together
I hope that the vast majority disagrees with me and it rises up the charts.
I do think that watching the video along with Adam singing will make up for any flaws

I thought TFM was alright. I really liked the beginning but towards the middle and end, not so much. Overall, I think with the visuals in the movie, the song will (can’t think of a word ..lol) coordinate? better. ‘ ¦(is that the right word? ..idk)

I had the opposite reaction. I loved the end, it was the beginning that took a little gettin used to. But after a few listens I certainly ain’t gonna knock it. The song builds beautifully imo, to end with fireworks and glory.

I agree that the song will benefit very much from the Music video. I think the visuals will add context to that final virtuoso vocal from Adam.

I ain’t holding my breath you understand, but I do think this song has all the qualities to do some fine business in the charts.

  326. Little disappointed….still love Aerosmith – I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing. I can feel more from that song. Iï »’ am not saying that Adam Lambert fail to express, but something lacking compared to Aerosmith’s

  327. a couple of thoughts about the comparisons to” I don’t want to miss a thing” and “My Heart will go on”. First of all, I don’t think I heard either of those songs until after I saw the movie and frankly when I think of them and listen them, I think about the movie. I don’t think TFM gets anywhere near “my heart will go on” territory. That song is so heart wrenching! But also when I hear that song, I think about those two characters in that icy water near the end of the movie, and the girl holding the guy’s freezing hand as he dies in the water. And When I listen to IDWMAT I see Bruce Willis and Ben Aflect and Mis. Tyler. So I think a lot of those songs greatness lie in how well they evoke those emotions from those movies that we all connect with. If the 2012 movie has scenes that really grab people like titanic and armageddon( another big not great but emotionally awesome disaster movie) than the song will soar to the stratosphere! Either way, Ithink its a great song. It’s Adam’s TOML. I am totally stoked for his own album and single now.

  328. I think ones opinion has a lot to do with matching ones expectations. The song succeeds in its purpose as an inpirational ballad for a disaster movie. Actually I tbi k it is mainstream enough that many outside ai will be intrigued agree with animated. I love Adams voice and truly think he elevates the song especially after multiple listening I think this has a lot more substance than the titanic song I tired of during the movie and ducking here I actually like SOME Celine

  329. wow completely yanked off youtube before i could download (would still buy the itunes version of course!)

  330. I just listned to TfM on my iPod and the difference in the experience is incredible. His voice is intimate, heartfelt, lush, and just melts my heart. For me, the song works on both an epic level (ie. OTT disaster flick soundtrack) and on a very personal level.

I work with the dying, and the lyrics speak to the heartbreak, hope, passion, and pain I’ve witnessed again and again in people who are dealing with the unthinkable. And it is Adam’s voice that makes this song, no question about it, with his ability to sweep the listener up into the emotion he conveys.

I know it’s not everyone’s thing, but I’m so so happy right now…

  331. funny…I just pulled up you tube and there were about 10 versions and I could play them all…weird, weird, weird!

  332. This is like a game of whack-a-mole — it will keep getting posted and yanked all day, it looks like.

  333. Idk what to think of the song. I heard the clips of it before and it was all bombastic. I have listened to the full version once and it was pulled. I have to listen a couple more times to get the feel of it.

ETA Ok heard it a few times and while it’s not in the atmosphere of IDWTMAT Adam’s singing is what saves the song. I seriously doubt it will get an Oscar nod.

  334. Well, what more can I add that ain’t already been said?? I went to bed late last night disappointed because we still had nothing and woke up to THIS!!! Now people are claiming the YT links are disappearing, but I just ain’t gonna refresh my page till I’ve listened 147 more times!! Dammit, Adam, I ain’t givin’ up on us now!!!

  335. Verona
I usually read and very seldom participate but I did write your name down as you said that you live near Temecula and I do not live to far from there
This is so OT but hope MJ won’t mind me just asking you how do you go about contacting someone on this blog

  336. Has anyone noticed that the drums on 3:29 sound just like the drums on Bon Jovi’s “Always”?

It’s just so great to hear new Adam music (even if it’s not really “Adam music” per say…)

    :-)

  337. I think I just caught it before it got pulled- after dying to hear it all week! I love it! Is it coming out tomorrow or Tuesday?

  338. Genie ain’t going back in the bottle. Try this.

If someone doesn’t want the song to be downloaded for nothing they just better release it!!

Tweeted @SonyGlobalMusic similarly this morning, Tess.

That’s right, Sony, spending time yanking off YouTube makes so much more money than having those YouTubes connect to a legitimate download. Allowing global demand to be met only by illegal options makes so much sense. Really, must be a Power Point on that. Because those music biz execs understand everything about how to profitably relate to modern audiences.

And I tried buying an iTunes gift certificate and going to iTunes Italy. It wouldn’t let me redeem. Said certificate only good for US. Probably have to create a new Italian account.

    So, back to listening here.

  339. This is the earth-shattering number we’ve all been waiting for? Are you seriously kidding me? It sounds like another lame Idol coronation tune.

  340. FHS, you go, girl!!!!!! Pulling the YouTubes sure as hell ain’t gonna help their cause any!

  341. Don’t see the Idol comparisons.. Idol is OVER! Everyone making their own careers now, for better or worse.

Comparing Kris, Adam and Allison is like comparing Milk,- Veggetables and Fruit–all good for you but different.

That being said, Sony-Get on the Horn… release it so we can buy it from a US site and bump up Adam’s US sales #’s You have been brilliant so far- how did you f*** up this so badly??!!

  342. This song ain’t gonna be everyone’s thing, but as for me, if he ain’t getting no nominations for his vocal performance, I’m gonna be a sad panda.

Adam can sing me the telephone book in any style he wants and I will listen and buy,

Ooo…Ooo…Can it be my phone book so I can hear him sing my name… ;-)

  344. This is the earth-shattering number we’ve all been waiting for? Are you seriously kidding me? It sounds like another lame Idol coronation tune.

That’s actually what I’ve been thinking. It’s like No Boundaries v2.

ETA: By which I mean there’s not really a hook, OTT lyrics, etc.

  345. terraj, I agree with you. If you don’t like Adam and his insane vocal range and technique, you certainly are not going to like this. Either ya love him or hate him, there appears to be little in between!

This vocal has award nomination written all over it!!!

  346. This is the earth-shattering number we’ve all been waiting for? Are you seriously kidding me?

No kidding – really. His vocals are amazing – unlike anything idol has EVER produced IMHO. The song is a movie disaster song. It is what it is, with brilliant vocals. He has told us several times that his first single from his album is different.

Oh and btw, the other contestants would have jumped on this opportunity.

I flove TFM. No one can steal my happy away….

  347. I had the opposite reaction. I loved the end, it was the beginning that took a little gettin used to. But after a few listens I certainly ain’t gonna knock it. The song

Yeah, me too. I loved the end part immeditately, it was the beginning that just wasn’t working for me. Still not, sigh.

  348. The more I hear this song, the more I like it. Love the last part the best with the wailing, but I understand it isn’t to everyone’s taste. That’s why there are Mileys and Britineys out there autotuned to death. Ugh (IMHO). Sony get on the ball and let me by this song. And I agree that it will be even more powerful with the visuals. It’s all good. :D

  349. If only coronation songs were this good. I will be blasting this in my car today – to cold to let the windows down.

  350. I think it get better because there is so much Adam vocal layering that is hard to hear 1st time, it draws you in further and further every time you listen….
Do love the way Rob Cavallo mixed his vocals, it makes me optimistic about his work on Adam’s cd..

  351. I will be blasting this in my car today ‘“ to cold to let the windows down.

Fresh air ain’t never killed anyone ;)

  352. Okay, I’ve listened three times and I will say that Adam’s vocals are off the charts. The song is growing on me, but it’s not something I’d listen to if it wasn’t Adam. Celine Dion has a nice range, but I can’t stand her stuff. So it’s not just about vocals to me, although I appreciate that they’re awesome on this track. I’m just not in love with it as a song. I think it’ll be a big hit and it fits perfectly with the movie (which I will also not be seeing, LOL.)

I’d argue that there IS a middle ground. I’m so much more looking forward to his glam stuff. :-)

  353. Adam sings for his life, punches a high note @ 3:15 and it’s buried in overproduced mix. Thrilling job by Adam, hope his vocals on future tracks will be allowed to shine better.

  354. Okay, I just listened to another version of the song and am still amazed. The soaring quality of his voice, the richness…well…I’ve used many words to describe my feelings on the song and on the singer, but I have decided to go with the eternal words of Ms. Christina Aguilera, a favorite of mine and of course, Adam’s. The words of her song seem to fit my feelings so appropriately right now:

Something about you caught my eye,
    Something moved me deep inside!
Don’t know what you did boy but
You had it and I’ve been hooked ever since.

    (Do your thang honey)

Ain’t no other man, can stand up next to you
Ain’t no other man on the planet does what you do
    (what you do).
You’re the kinda guy, a girl finds in a blue moon.
You got soul, you got class.
You got style with your bad ass – oh yeah!
Ain’t no other man its true – all right –
Ain’t no other man but you.

  355. clearone-I agree, I love it more each time I hear it. Adam’s voice just thrills me. I don’t know if I can handle anymore awesomeness, first that teaser on the Details video(HOT!!!) and now this. How am I going to survive everything else that is coming? I am totally distracted already. Oh, Adam.

  356. I think it get better because there is so much Adam vocal layering that is hard to hear 1st time, it draws you in further and further every time you listen’ ¦.
Do love the way Rob Cavallo mixed his vocals, it makes me optimistic about his work on Adam’s cd..

Yeah, I feel the same. I have been concerned because he also produced Cook’s album, and I thought that the vocals were blanded out, but this is all good.

  357. I’m sorry, but the bad grammer annoys me

Yeah, I agree- he should have sang something with more intelligent lyrics like, say….Aint No Sunshine :)

  358. And I tried buying an iTunes gift certificate and going to iTunes Italy. It wouldn’t let me redeem. Said certificate only good for US. Probably have to create a new Italian account.

    So, back to listening here.

FifthHouseSun: the link you have on your post of the song sounds so much better the the Youtube ones. It’s fuller, richer, and you can hear the nuances clearer. Love this much much better. You made me really happy FifthHouseSun Thanks! Can’t wait to be able to get my own copy of this song from Itunes (Through MJ’s site of Course )

  359. I also can’t stand how the word ‘ain’t’ is used so much. I’m sorry, but the bad grammer annoys me.

Yes, reminds me of Aint No Sunshine!

  360. Ok, I officially love it. But if you aren’t a fan of “Adam vocals,” you probably aren’t going to be crazy about the song. For me, it has everything I love about Adam’s voice—and I love the softness and the “rock wail.” He just has a gorgeous instrument.

  361. Do love the way Rob Cavallo mixed his vocals, it makes me optimistic about his work on Adam’s cd..

Yes, I do and am also excited. I am not understanding the people who are saying there’s too much instrumentation. Adam’s voice is loud, strong, clear and beautiful for me.

  362. HOLY CRAP!!!! I mean holy crap! (regaining my self composure)…

Of all mornings to sleep in… After having wallowed in deep dispair last night (or was that early this morning?) because the Amazon release had been pushed back to the 27th and been reduced to much growling, I wake up to find that it’s out!

Awesome!!! We have exited the Seinfeld-Space-Time-Continuum!!!

  363. just listened to the song for the first time…
I actually like the verses esp those that are very “Beatles-esque” but I agree it is overproduced….
Adam’s vocals are amazing though and I for one dont intend on making a definitive judgement based on this recording because its not high quality and a song like this needs to be heard in high quality in order for all the sounds to blend…
I’m sure the stuff on his album will be better and will showcase his voice more…this is a typical movie theme..this isnt “Adam” but rather he adds a special touch to the song with his vocals. Just mho.

  364. Apparently an Adam song leaked

    Hmm. Really?

I’ll have to check it out later on.

  365. @CindyM. My fav song of Aguilera and NOW there is actually a man for whom those lyrics are perfect. Well, not really a man, a fierce alien to be exact.

  366. The song is being released tomorrow. It’s released in Europe because it’s actually the 18th of October there. However it should have been released here on the 17th.

  367. Thank you dsp; the link worked and I just listened to it over and over–crying through the first two times! He is a miracle! Amazing! It’s worth every second of this ride; even the waiting.

    Apparently an Adam song leaked

    Hmm. Really?

I’ll have to check it out later on.

Well, if you must wait, then so be it, but I’m bettin’ there ain’t no mountain high enough to keep you from a man-squee.

  369. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I am at a melting point right now. Animated extraordinarily described what the song is. Feelings is what I get, some call feelings cheese.

I am a survivor of an earthquake (my house fell down like a poker card) and a severe car accident, so, for me miracles exist.

Adam ´s voice is out of this world. And nobody will steal my happiness. I will certainly buy it.

However, I understand those who won ´t buy the song because they don ´t like Adam ´s voice, because I won ´t be buying any of the singles released so far by the other idols because I simply don ´t like them.

  370. I really like it. His vocals are phenomenal and the song ain’t bad. I like it more and more each time I listen to it but what is going on with releasing it in Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands but then pushing back the release date here? Good luck trying to contain it.

Nice song but these constantly changing release dates are giving me a headache.

  371. I will probably download it when it becomes available…I hope really hope they do in fact let him perform this at the Oscars or something and give him an award as some have suggested (I personally think its a win-win situation because his performance will draw in a new audience for the Oscars and I’ll bet the ratings will increase significantly and it will give Adam the recognition he deserves as a vocalist…plus he’ll get to mingle with movie stars)…even if the song is not the best song ever its a lot better than most of the crap out there today…I think this is what makes Adam such a great artist..he will slowly but surely raise the standards of Popular music…we need more of that!

  372. The song is being released tomorrow. It’s released in Europe because it’s actually the 18th of October there.

Not even in the Eastern part of European Russia. Nowhere in Europe is it the 18th yet (or prior to this). In Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands, it’s about 7:15 pm.

  373. didn’t the presale for Adam’s album go on Amazon US hours after the other countries? Maybe it is going to happen today.

  374. The song is being released tomorrow. It’s released in Europe because it’s actually the 18th of October there. However it should have been released here on the 17th.

It’s still Saturday, 17th October here.

  375. In addition to “Ain’t No Sunshine,” the Grammar Police might want to file complaints against the following songs:

    “Ain’t She Sweet” The Beatles

    “Ain’t That A Shame!” The 4 Seasons

“Ain’t That Just Like A Woman” Fats Domino

“Ain’t That Loving You Baby” Elvis Presley

    “Ain’t That Peculiar” Marvin Gaye

“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” Marvin Gaye

“Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” The Rolling Stones

“Ain’t Understanding Mellow” Jerry Butler And Brenda Lee Eager

  376. I’m here! You guys!

    *flailng*

    *squeeing*!!!

OMFG, I love it, it just gets better every time I listen to it.

I WANT TO DOWNLOAD IT RIGHT NOW! *snif* *happy dancing*

  377. Yes! Finally, my comment is posting after the fourth try. SO

My rational judgment: It’s cheesy, but with a strong melody and great vocals.

Now that I’ve gotten that aside…

Omg, I fucking love it. His voice is perfection; I’ve missed that blend of sensitivity and strength so much. <3 Our first Adam release!!!! I'm squeeing in real life…. trying to retain basic coherency so that I remain appropriate for mj's…

  378. Meh.

KIDDING!!! I love it. Gorgeous, gorgeous vocals from the glittery one. Very pretty song. The lyrics mean so much more now that we know about Natasha’s battle with cancer and her death last summer.

  380. THANK GOD I CHECKED MY TWITTER ACCOUNT TODAY!!!

I love the way his voice builds and he is NOT drowned out by the background vocals (his) or the orchestration. Take that, NoBo producers.

    I.AM.SO.HAPPY.RIGHT.NOW.

    Hug me.

  381. SueBro we were trying to knock on your computer door via twitter around 7:00 a.m. CST….

  382. ‘ ¦’ ¦ I wanted to help those who find his power singing at the end of the song detrimental to their ears (bleeding)’ ¦When the song comes on the Radio (and it will be on the Radio believe me)’ ¦The buttons on your radio are not just for show. When you press them it changes to another radio station were you can hear as many current auto tuned songs as you like. There is also a dial that you can turn to actually shut the radio off’ ¦.Just thought I would be helpful as I would not want anyone’s ears to bleed. This has been my public service announcement.

I appreciate you doing your part to save humanity from the dreaded bleeding ears disease. That off and on button on the radio, is really hard to find.

  383. Ummm.. rockvixen i hate to tell you this, but it “ain’t” oct 18 in Europe yet. Not for several more hours, depending on what time zone we’re talking about. Right now it’s about 7:22 pm in Italy.

I hope it does become available for download here on the 18th. I am tired trying to trick itunes into thinking i’m italian :-)

  384. I didn’t check my email this morning or mj’s, b/c Saturdays are usually kind of quiet AND THIS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO COME OUT TILL TOMORROW!!!

*snif* BUT I AM HERE NOW FOR THE NEXT HOUR!!!

    *falling down*

  385. The song is being released tomorrow. It’s released in Europe because it’s actually the 18th of October there. However it should have been released here on the 17th.

It is still October 17 in Europe. 19:24 (7:24 pm)

  386. I AM SPEECHLESS.RHIS HAS EXCEEDED MY WILDEST EXPECTATIONS.I JUST LOVE IT.simply gorgeous

i’m too happy for exclamation marks

    amazing,really

  387. I had the opposite reaction. I loved the end, it was the beginning that took a little getting used to. But after a few listens I certainly ain’t gonna knock it. The song

Me, too. The first time I heard it, I was like, HEY, where’s Adam? But every subsequent time you hear it you get more and more drawn into, till you are just led into the swirl. The way it builds and builds…geez. Who else could SING THIS?!

Can you say OSCAR NOMINATION FOR BEST SONG???

Okay, being over dramatic. I JUST LURRRVE IT. That is all. (for this post)

    *happy dancing*

  388. *happy dancing*

    *dances with you*

I can’t wait til I get the hq version of this. imo Adam has turned a merely solid song into something beautiful.

  389. suebrody!!! You made it! We were starting to think you heard it but didn’t like it so you didn’t want to ruin the party.

I LOVE IT! It is even better, one hundred million times better, than I could even have expected. Today is my half-birthday. Happy half-birthday to me! Thank you, Adam.

    Oh ok lol.

That’s okay, rockvixen, we are all on “miracle” time right now, except hwc, and he’ll catch up.

  392. Hi!
    I just had a thought……..
We could trend Adam to get Sony’s attention.
Something like: AdamLambert on ITUNES NOW!
Is that something that would work?
I hate to see Adam “not get his due”.

  393. Watching so much Visa card holding, screaming, genuine consumer demand being met by 1978 mindset of Sony concentrating on yanking YouTube’s instead of giving consumers what they want: A place to buy, is mind numbing.

Global recession, floundering music business, and their response to their own mistake is not seize the opportunity, it’s telling the consumer: Rip us off. We’re sticking to our plan.

@SonyMusicGlobal hope you’re enjoying the 20th Century. They’re almost as clueless as @Details . Tweeted the magazine, hello, leak, post some outtakes, hitchhike the global buzz. (Okay, rant over. Missed opportunity just triggers it.)

    You made me really happy…Thanks!

dhunken, happiness always good to see. But credit belongs to Mr. Lambert, and whomever runs Randomize Me, providing the good listening here.

  394. Adam’s vocals are exceptional here, as usual. I particularly liked his lower register in the front part of song. But, I really didn’t like the song itself. I found the melody and lyrics too repetitive and cheesy. Which is just fine for a cheesy disaster movie, but I think Adam is wise to make clear this is not indicative of the sound he is going for on his album.

  395. Chorus:

    It ain’t too bad.
    It ain’t bad, no
    IT IS SO GREAT
And I must play it over
    And over again
    Because it’s so
    beautiful, you know
I must download it right away

  396. The song is just okay for me. Adam’s vocals are out of this world, but it still does not make me go bonkers for this song. Im happy Adam said his album is going to be different from this song. Hopefully, he is correct.

  397. Details still has freaking Clive Owen on it.

EPIC FAIL, Details. EPIC FAIL. Same for you, iTunes.

  398. I can not imagine some future AI contestant trying to sing this – they will be crucified by Simon. As Kara said, “your vocals are insane, who can sing like that”? Love him or hate him, no one can deny this man’s talent.

Rock on Adam! You made a lot of your fans happy today and we look forward to hearing more of your insane vocals.

  399. Yes, the Randomize link is def the best. By the way, what purchase day would start the “count” toward sales? Didn’t someone in the know say that it needs to be after a Monday? IDK, maybe I am confused as usual.

  400. That’s actually what I’ve been thinking. It’s like No Boundaries v2.

And just like with no boundaries left in the hands of a less capable singer the song would be boring as hell. Adam did the same thing with NB that he’s done with TFM, taken what was otherwise a cheesy cliche of a song and turned it into something amazing.

They say you can’t polish a turd? Well Adam keeps proving that you actually can.

  401. His voice is perfection; I’ve missed that blend of sensitivity and strength so much

    …and that’s exactly why I can’t turn this off! Just gah…

Please God, this has to be on national television, on a big stage and a full orchestra some day. I just have to see this performed live…..

  402. Whoever posted the lyrics to Christina’s Ain’t No Other Man to describe this song, thank you! It’s SO APPROPRIATE for me. I haven’t fallen so totally in love with someone’s voice like this since Christina.

  403. Oh and btw, the other contestants would have jumped on this opportunity

And their fans would be bragging about it, rightfully.

  404. greeneyedlady

    What Clearone said,

  406. Please God, this has to be on national television, on a big stage and a full orchestra some day. I just have to see this performed live’ ¦..

Oh please God hear our prayer.

ETA: I’m being greedy, I want the Oscars.

  407. Please God, this has to be on national television, on a big stage and a full orchestra some day. I just have to see this performed live’ ¦..

I thought the same thing. It would be mind blowing. I thought Adam was singing it at the AMA’s until I went back and saw in his interview and other articles that he’s singing his new unreleased single.

  408. Please God, this has to be on national television, on a big stage and a full orchestra some day. I just have to see this performed live’ ¦..

    I’m joining this prayer circle.

  409. Watching so much Visa card holding, screaming, genuine consumer demand being met by 1978 mindset of Sony concentrating on yanking YouTube’s instead of giving consumers what they want: A place to buy, is mind numbing.

They’re crazy. They’re going to cost themselves sales. Good luck trying to control it on youtube. I’ve been listening to it at the same link for an hour and they haven’t gotten it yet.

  410. BEAUTIFUL, if I was the songwriter I would be in tears remembering all that was, Congrats Adam for, my opinion, touching my heart and soul and many millions more. I absolutely LOVE the words (ain’t)and the voice!! I volunteer in a children cancer center, I can think of hundreds of families this would bring to their knees.

  411. Yes, much better on the Randomize site, but I have it on my iPhone, so I can listen to it from YouTube for the rest of the day–at the theater while I wait for the play to being, afterward (tho I am with a friend, so maybe not, lol) and ALL NIGHT LONG.

They are going to tweet #timeformiracles at 8PM EST on Twitter, where everyone is also flailing and squeeing.

BTW, I hope you get a million hits, mj!!! Do you like it? What about Cantiello and Slezak and LYNDSEY? Have they weighed in yet?

  412. IT’S LATE AT NIGHT AND I CAN’T SLEEP. MY GOD THAT IS WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO ME, WAITING FOR THIS SONG TO COME OUT.
IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. ADAM ADAM YOU ARE OUR MIRACLE. YOUR VOICE IS HEAVENLY. HOW CAN ANYONE NOT LOVE THIS MAN. HE IS SO FANTASTIC.
SQUIRRLEY YOU CAN SEE THIS VIDEO ON THE BIG SCREEN AT THE
“THIS IS IT” MOVIE IT WILL BE FABULOUS. IT WILL BE SHOWN RIGHT BEFORE THE M J MOVIE. I AM GOING TO BE THERE TO SEE IT. I LOVE ADAM’S VOICE. WHAT A MIRACLE HE IS .

  413. Details still has freaking Clive Owen on it.

    EPIC FAIL, Details. EPIC FAIL.

    Thought the same, suebrody.

But just searched @details Twitter and surprisingly the only two tweets ranting at them about why aren’t you grabbing the TFM leak buzz are, uh, mine. Plenty of others asking for details from Details about Adam sessions and urging large press runs.

Searching @SonyMusicGlobal finds a few more urging to rectify no legal source for TFM.

  414. They’re crazy. They’re going to cost themselves sales. Good luck trying to control it on youtube. I’ve been listening to it at the same link for an hour and they haven’t gotten it yet.

The record companies need to get a clue. Youtube is uncontrollable. You just have to rip the audio from the vid and bam! even taking down the vid makes no difference… it’ll be up on half a dozen download sites… so in conclusion… RELEASE THE DAMN SONG ALREADY

  415. “Please God, this has to be on national television, on a big stage and a full orchestra some day. I just have to see this performed live’ ¦..

Oh please God hear our prayer.”

…..and I will be lighting candles at church to thank you for giving us Adam and for THIS!

  416. Really like it !!111!!!

Upon first listen, wasn’t sure I would love it, but that was just foolish-thinking. :-)

Funny, I don’t always like real wailing rock songs, but Adam’s vocals are the exception.

I adore Adam’s lower register and wish he would use it more often. I like the beginning of the song because he puts a bit of “gravel” in there, something he doesn’t do when he goes up his register. In Adam’s case, I don’t cringe when the wails come, I actually embrace them, which is unusual for me.

The cheesy lyrics don’t phase me. I think the instruments are a bit too loud towards the end, but I suppose in a movie theatre, end-of-the-world and all, it will sound just about right.

  417. Please God, this has to be on national television, on a big stage and a full orchestra some day. I just have to see this performed live’ ¦..

I really really like this song, but if someone is going to put HBIC on TV, the boy better be dancing.

  418. Apparently an Adam song leaked

Adam who? Adam Ant? Oh….THAT Adam.

Wow. Just listened to it, and I’m totally blown away. His vocals are so amazing. What a musical instrument the man has!!

I was concerned that I might be disappointed by the disaster movie song, (I’m not a disaster movie fan at all), but so far, the only negative thing that I can think to say is that I’m not able to buy it yet! The arrangement, the mixing, and most especially, the vocals are just stunning.

And, now, the whole world can hear what we knew all along. That boy was right when he said, “I can sang!”

What’s up with Amazon changing the date to the 27th for the download? Is that for real? Are they trying to tie it in with TII, so the song opens with bigger sales? Makes sense from a business standpoint if that’s what they’re doing — but I want to buy the song NOW!!

    This is so amazing. Squeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

  419. Can you say OSCAR NOMINATION FOR BEST SONG
I WANT THIS SONG FOR MY I POD NOW. I TUNES, AMAZON, WHERE EVER….

  420. Happy to help, Winks8 :)
Of course, I’ll download it legally the second it’s available… Hello- Sony? Amazon US? Anyone want my damn money?!!

Off to listen for the 467th time…

  421. There is a decidedly non-cheesy backstory to the lyrics, written in 2007 by a couple, quite obviously to each other, about their situation, in a very personal way. The co-writers: Natasha Shneider & Alain Johannes

  422. THANK GOD I got my ticket to MJ’s documentary last weekend, b/c if this is big as it could be, and ppl know it’s Adam’s video to TFM (or even just the one for 2012 WITH HIS SONG), tickets may sell out quickly (which I think they will).

I have to leave in 25 minutes to get my tickets for the play. I don’t wanna go. I wanna stay and play. I think we are going to break the records for most post. ADAM STORM, baby. I am surprised mj’s site hasn’t crashed yet.

God, I love this song. God, I love your voice, Adam. And this isn’t as cheesy as NoBo, b/c that and This Is My Now are the most craptastic songs ever. And if I could listen to Adam’s NoBo (and Want, with NO lyrics), I can sure listen to this song OVER AND OVER. Which I fully intend to do.

  423. RELEASE THE DAMN SONG ALREADY

    Dear God,

In addition to our prayer about a live version of TFM initiated by Clearone….Please add the above sentiment from Sherena to that request.

    Thank you

    dhunken

  424. I want the Oscars too.

There is a decidedly non-cheesy backstory to the lyrics, written by a couple, quite obviously to each other, about their situation, in a very personal way. The co-writers: Alain Johannes & Natasha Shneider

Really? Well, now I love it 100x more. If that were possible.

  426. There is a decidedly non-cheesy backstory to the lyrics, written by a couple, quite obviously to each other, about their situation, in a very personal way. The co-writers: Alain Johannes & Natasha Shneider

Thanks hwc… I believe Natasha passed away.
It’s quite beautiful, ” Cuz I ain’t giving up on love
No I ain’t giving up on us.”

Frickkin amazing… I like others can’t wait for this to be performed live…. LIVE!!!

  427. Please God, this has to be on national television, on a big stage and a full orchestra some day. I just have to see this performed live’ ¦..

Before I saw your post, I was picturing the full orchestra, with Adam singing the song. He can’t win an Oscar, obviously, but I sure hope that he gets to perform the song at the Oscars this year.

  428. OK peeps, HYPOTHETICALLY, if you go to the Randomize site, he points you to a link to convert straight from his site. This version would be INCREDIBLE on the iPod. No kidding.

Now, having said that, I plan to buy a legit copy the SECOND it is available. In the meantime we have a very HQ version to keep us company from a good site.

  429. Yeah, I kinda figured I wouldn’t be into it. Over the years, I have HATEDHATEDHATED that piece of drek known as “My Heart Will Go On” (Anyone remember when Celine beat her chest to emphasize the heart bit and the massive necklace was bouncing around? I think that was on the Oscars. I thought she was going to knock herself out with the necklace. It was hilarious.), the even bigger piece of drek known as “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,”” and the EVEN BIGGER piece of drek known as “Everything I Do (I Do It For You).” Soooo… When I think of those songs as cheesy, it’s about the melody more than the words. It’s the bombastic orchestrations and the phony baloney urgency and the way it builds and builds to try to create emotion in the listener. (All it creates in me is a headache.)

This song fits perfectly into those parameters. Phony baloney, cheesy, faux urgency and sincerity… Yeah, so not my thing.

  430. There is a decidedly non-cheesy backstory to the lyrics, written by a couple, quite obviously to each other, about their situation, in a very personal way. The co-writers: Alain Johannes & Natasha Shneider

Yep. That’s why the lyrics get to me, hwc . Of course, most people won’t know the backstory to the song, which is fine. Everyone can interpret it as they choose.

I love the way the song builds and builds, and Adam’s vocals right along with it, until the very last stanza.

ETA: LOL! God’s gonna be busy today! Between answering the prayers of the Adam fans and the college football fans, He’s definitely going to have take tomorrow off.

  431. Hey, maybe he WILL perform it at the Oscars. I toldja he couldn’t sing it at the AMAs, b/c it needs the full orchestration.

I wonder if he could sing it acoustic, tho, on, say OPRAH or ELLEN or THE TONIGHT SHOW, etal.

God, I have to download this mother.

  432. I still can’t believe that this song builds from the start to the end over 4:44! I just love it — and IMO it is not “cheesey” — just a beautiful song.

  433. Ain’t it a wondeful day!!!

I went to bed last night thinking we would have to wait one more week and woke up to a NEW SONG with Adam Lambert’s voice front and center!
    Stunning-simply stunning!
    Beautiful boy-Beautiful voice!

  434. They’re crazy. They’re going to cost themselves sales. Good luck trying to control it on youtube. I’ve been listening to it at the same link for an hour and they haven’t gotten it yet.

I think they’re crazy, too, but I’m thinking the song won’t be on the radar for anyone who isn’t an Adam fan until they hear/see it at TII, hear it at the end of 2012 or (with any luck) on the radio. By then, it will be available on I-Tunes and Amazon. Those of us who ARE true Adam fans will shell out the $1 or so it costs to purchase it legally because we’re rooting for him to succeed. Probably naivety on my part, but I like it here in my happy, hopeful world! LOL!

  435. The backstory. If you listen to the words to this song, I have to presume this song was written while she was fighting the cancer.. breast cancer? Not sure about that part. The lyrics really make sense when you think about what was going on in their life at the time.

  436. Of course, most people won’t know the backstory to the song, which is fine. Everyone can interpret it as they choose.

It’s probably just as well, as you say. It’s an extremely painful song lyrically.

  437. Ain’t it a wondeful day!!!

I went to bed last night thinking we would have to wait one more week and woke up to a NEW SONG with Adam Lambert’s voice front and center!
    Stunning-simply stunning!
    Beautiful boy-Beautiful voice!

Ditto ALL THIS! I haven’t stopped squeeeeing (or listening to the song) since I heard it had leaked several hours ago. I love it more and more with each play!

  438. Ok, my 2 cents.

First off, i think it is important to respond to Brian May’s orgasm over this song claiming that it would be a sure #1. Frankly, I’m not feelin that for a number of reasons.

    1. Adam sings it great but the lyrics are pretty lame.
    2. The orchestration is way over the top.
    3. There is NOTHING modern in the sound of this song that would lend it to a lot of radio play and requests.

Ok, a couple of things that Adam does in this song that I DO NOT like:

    1. He continues to drop his consonants at the end of words. The fact that his vocal coaches have not trained him out of this amazes me really. For example, when the sings, “I ain’t givin up on us…”, it sounds like “I ain’t givin up on uh…”. Listen again. If you didn’t know the word was “us” there you would thing he was saying “love”.
    2. Adam is doing that “growly” thing with his voice in spots. Totally unnecessary and takes away from the sheer beauty of his tone.

    Final Conclusion:

Sounds like what it is – an over-the-top corny song for an over-the-top corny movie. IMHO doesn’t stand on it’s own as a hit, although it likely will be simply because Adam sings it.

The question to ask yourself: Forget this is by Adam Lambert. Forget you have ever heard of Adam Lambert. If you heard this for the first time on the radio, would you have been orgasmic over it? My guess is no.

I hope his album is better and I expect it to be.

  439. THIS^^^ Animated, you rule. And speaking as someone who has a loved one who is not expected to live more than the next few days, I’m telling you, your perspective is a breath of fresh air.

    Thank you.

Oh, no, Susan M. I am so very sorry. But thank you for taking the time to post. I hope Adam’s music brings you some peace. (and I am not kidding; I could not be more serious.)

  440. Oh, I agree Q3. I just loveeeee this song and I don’t think it is cheesy either. I positively can not wait until the album.

  441. Funny that when people talk about anything emotional they are immediately drawn to the term cheesy. Sure, movies propel emotion way out of porportion, or so you think, until you experience it yourself.
I am sure many disaster survivors and people with really sick and dying kids won’t think to call this cheesy. They will think it is uplifting and cathargic. YMMV.

  442. suebrody: Hey, maybe he WILL perform it at the Oscars. I toldja he couldn’t sing it at the AMAs, b/c it needs the full orchestration.

I wonder if he could sing it acoustic, tho, on, say OPRAH or ELLEN or THE TONIGHT SHOW, etal.

God, I have to download this mother.

I think that Adam can perform this acoustic — he pulled of the acoustic GMA version of Starlight — but I really want to see it live with an orchestra. Betting on an Oscar performance — because this is the kind of song the Academy loves!

  443. Oh, man. My mother had breast cancer, and THANK GOD SHE HAD A FULL RECOVERY.

Now I am just crying. Seriously. I thought the song was just about the movie… :(

I still love it, tho. Maybe moreso now.

OK peeps, Hypothetically,, if you go to the Randomize site, he points you to a link to convert straight from his site. This version is INCREDIBLE on the iPod. No kidding.

Hypothetically, If I were to go and do the same thing I would say…. You are so right!… ;-)

  445. Of course, I’ll download it legally the second it’s available’ ¦ Hello- Sony? Amazon US? Anyone want my damn money?!!

I snagged it from YouTube, just in case all the other links go away, but, like you, (and lots of others!), someone, please, take my money so I can buy it legally!!!!!! Can I pay extra just so I can have it legally now?

YouTube will cut into sales, I suppose, but the difference in sound quality will make it more than worth it to purchase a legal copy. The difference in sound quality from the link here vs. YouTube is huge, and makes such a big difference. Makes me want a vinyl copy!

    Such an amazing sound.

  446. The lyrics mean so much more now that we know about Natasha’s battle with cancer and her death last summer.

I can’t imagine how painful it is for her husband to hear this song. It’s been over two years since I lost my mother to cancer, and I’m still getting emotional listening to it. I think it’s beautiful.

  447. I guess my overall point is that this song will likely be pretty cool with the world exploding on the screen behind it, but as a stand-alone hit? No.

What will be an interesting test of Adam’s broad popularity if this thing goes #1 purely on Adam’s popularity despite the fact it is a pretty mediocre tune.

  448. Betting on an Oscar performance ‘” because this is the kind of song the Academy loves!

Oh, I hope so, Q3! Did anyone ever come to a conclusion on the debate a week or so ago about whether it will qualify, having been written over a year ago? I left off on that thread with someone pointing out that the movie had taken multiple years to complete and that the determining factor would be whether or not the song had been written for the movie. These were just a lot of (well-thought-out) opinions being thrown around, but does anyone actually know whether or not it can be nominated?

  449. i can totally see parts of this song being used wrt winter olympics this year

  450. It’s a really sad song, though it has a feeling of hope. Or rather its a very hopeful song, but sad when you know the outcome of their history and that she died from her cancer…

  451. @dhunken.

I am such a newbie at all of this. I MEANT HYPOTHETICALLY and changed the OP to state that….

    (red face)

  452. song’s kind of lame, but it’s alright. I don’t really care for Adam’s vocals when he does “that” sound, but that’s the best part of the song. I guess. Sounds kind of contrived. like it’s trying to be epic. But the movie looks that way too, so it fits.

  453. http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/06/29/academy-awards-change-best-original-song-rules/

IOW, there may not be any Best Song nominees this year, and the fact that this is an end credits song may affect it negatively, too.

This has been discussed 1,000 times, but in a nutshell The Academy has no issue bending rules to suit its own ends. Look up the history of Falling Slowly- they will do whatever they need to do to get what they want. If they want this song nominated (to facilitate a stunning and ratings smashing live performance, or for any other reason) then this song will be nominated.

  454. IMO this song will get an Oscar nomination —

    1. There is no chance that the Music Branch Executive Committee will not give this song a 8.25 rating — so there will be a Best Song category:

New rule: “…the Music Branch Executive Committee will now require that only songs that average an 8.25 score ‘” songs are rated from 6 to 10 by Academy members ‘” can be nominated in the category, Billboard.biz reports. If no songs average 8.25, then that Oscar year will not feature a Best Original Song category.”

    2. Sony will “lobby” the Academy for it if it sells — and this song will sell — if they ever put it for sale in the US!

    3. I think it could even win!

ETA: regarding this song being the first song of the end credits — it is actually not too big a problem because it has a music video that will be widely seen. The issue is for songs that are over the credits and have no context vs. songs that are over great parts of movies.

Also, IMO the performance, instramentation and production is do “theatrical” — it isn’t a “boring” over the credits song.

  455. It’s on my iPod now (Nano). I am so happy. Yay, Randomize site. *jumping and up and down* I will download legally WHEN I CAN. WHICH IS NOT TODAY.

I love you all and I love Adam. I will be back tonight. Hugs to mjk and everyone affected by any disease and to mj for letting us hear it.

MAYBE IT’S TIME FOR MIRACLES…CAUSE I AIN’T GIVING UP ON US.

    Ciao for now.

  456. @hwc
“how moving it would be for Adam Lambert to perform this song someday with Alain Johannes on guitar. “

    Chill bumps. Nuf said.

  457. song’s kind of lame, but it’s alright. I don’t really care for Adam’s vocals when he does ‘that’ sound, but that’s the best part of the song. I guess. Sounds kind of contrived. like it’s trying to be epic. But the movie looks that way too, so it fits.

Have I mentioned lately that I love you

Even if I disagree completely :P

  458. i can totally see parts of this song being used wrt winter olympics this year

IDK. Usually, the Olympics are about reaching your goals after years of hard work. If you need a miracle, your probably skating on deserving to win. Sure, if there was another “Miracle on Ice” situation where it’s good ol’ college kids vs the professionals from the evil empire, it would be a good song. But since the empire stopped being evil (and joined the G8) and everybody is sending their NHL stars, it’s pretty hard to argue that for the US hockey team. Granted, lyrics rarely matter. But, then it’s tied to the world getting destroyed movie and the Olympics are more about world becoming a better place. IDK.

Maybe an Idol boot song. There are some miracles required there.

Details still has freaking Clive Owen on it.

    EPIC FAIL, Details. EPIC FAIL.

suebrody: I called Details and they referred me to B & N and Borders. I called both and they said that next week they should have Adam and verified they only have Clive. B/N shipments are M-W-F and Borders Mon-Tues here in Vegas. I’ll be camping out!!

  460. Have I mentioned lately that I love you

Even if I disagree completely :P

I think it pretty much goes without saying.

  461. Interesting that people are trying to trend #timeformiracles with #beat cancer on twitter. Appropriate inspirational song is appropriate.

I’ve been checking out various versions of TFM this morning. The song definitely sounds richer and clearer in other formats and played on an ipod rather than a pc. Can’t wait for a high quality version.

It’s great that people who might not be comfortable with the more out there songs on Adam’s album might like this more mainstream epic movie soundtrack song. His vocals certainly shine and will get Adam the worldwide recognition he needs to launch a glam rock career.

It’s not clear whether the leak was a mistake or not, but hopefully Sony will make TFM available for sale ASAP or take a hit on sales lost to illegal downloads. Corporations need faster reaction times!

  462. Lindsey Parker has weighed in:

    http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/realityrocks/275594/miracles-do-happen-adam-lamberts-2012-theme-finally-released/

OMG, I LOVE her synopsis. She put into words what I’ve been feeling but couldn’t have written so succinctly (maybe that’s why she has that job and I just have fun blogging? LOL!) I know she’s an Adam enthusiast like most of us on this thread, but she also has pretty “hip” and “cool” taste in music, so I value her judgment on this one. She’s able to look at–and love–the song for what it was meant to be. I love her!

  463. In Jim C.’s tweet he referred to Jess. Is Jess his cat or his partner/boyfriend?

  464. TFM for the Olympics, not sure. But Dallas Cowboys may need it before the season is over…

  465. I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom

I’ve been watching the Oscars for over 55 years and I can tell you that this is exactly the type of song the Oscars LOVE. Big voice, big instrumental, emotional lyrics, OTT. All good for the most “Cheesy” awards show.

  466. I read all the comments and wanted to respond to so many. But by the time I do that there will be another 500. So I’ll just gloss over a bit:

    Animated – loved your posts

Squirriley – thx for writing down the lyrics

Linmar – the “ain’t” bothers me a bit too. Whenever I said that growing up it was an automatic smack in the head so the word was conditioned out of me at an early age.

Tess – like your screeching/opera analogy. I’ve used it myself but have given up on that fight as those are the people that are never going to like Adam anyway. Unless he sings cutesy-poopsie pop.

  467. I’ve been watching the Oscars for over 55 years and I can tell you that this is exactly the type of song the Oscars LOVE. Big voice, big instrumental, emotional lyrics, OTT. All good for the most ‘Cheesy’ awards show.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. (Especially with the backstory.)

I thought how fitting for this song to debut during October… go pink.

I think it’s his wife. I know he has one.

  470. suebrody

Oh, man. My mother had breast cancer, and THANK GOD SHE HAD A FULL RECOVERY

My oldest sister had breast cancer and she also made a full recovery. Songs just like this helped her make it through the tough times, and it brings tears to my eyes.

  471. Happy to help, Winks8
Of course, I’ll download it legally the second it’s available’ ¦ Hello- Sony? Amazon US? Anyone want my damn money?!!

    Absolutely, me too greeneyedlady.

I really appreciated your link to get me by until they decide they want our money. (I’m a little like Diane Keaton in the movie “Baby Boom” when her well went dry and she was having a melt down cuz she just wanted some water in the damn well. “Isn’t there just a hose around back we can use to fill it up or something?” :-)

Me ** “Isn’t there just a button I can push to have the song?” :-)

  472. @sidewalk Unless he sings cutesy-poopsie pop.

Or cutesy poppsie poop. (See Brittney, JBros.)

  473. I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..

But alison what other type song would work for 2012? It’s a cheesy movie if we like it or not. I really don’t care as long as Adam sings it! I am also sure it has a lot of meaning for the writer(s) and in time we will understand the “cheesiness” lol. They have made us wait soooo long for this many expectations have soared to believing it will be the best song ever written, not. Best singer?……..Absolutely!

  474. gemni- Jim C is married. To a woman.

I was expecting total fangirlness from Parker, but she really did put it in context. This is not Adam’s song. It was a song he was asked to sing for a disaster movie. A genre that screams for OTT. Did anyone see the video on youtube with LLWD playing over the 2012 clip ? Nothing but a big bombastic song would work for that movie, and I think people need to take that into consideration.

I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..

buahahahahah!!!! (spit soda all over my computer)…..please let me know a head of time before you make a joke like that….Too cheesy for Oscar…OMG….that was good one.

Being said all in jest and with my appreciation and respect for your opinion Alsion8701

  476. Oh Adam. I was finding this surprisingly listenable and moving — and actually not any more cheesy than any other epic movie anthem — and I was really enjoying his voice *right* up to the 3 minute mark when he took off into that part of his range that makes my jaw ache and my back teeth rattle. Ow. And *sigh*

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was a hit in the “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” mode though. It’s got exactly the right kind of production — not too overdubbed and not too thin — and a good build and he sounds really good in the parts I could listen to. And obviously I am in a very small minority when it comes to how his voice affects me, so I expect it will do well.

I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..

*L* I don’t think such a classification as “too cheesy” exists as far as Oscar songs are concerned.

  477. I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..

Oh Allison too funny – Do you watch the Oscars?

  478. Love the beginning, hate the ending. Wouldn’t turn it off if I hear it on the radio but not going to buy it either. Oh well…

  479. I kind of feel like people aren’t giving the song itself enough credit: it’s very beautiful and actually far more interesting than I was expecting. It’s unique: I can’t even describe it without referring to at least 3 different genres or bands.

  480. I JUST WANT TO BE WITH YOU ADAM. THIS SONG IS FANTASTIC. GOD I CAN’T STOP LISTENING TO IT. PLEASE SOMEONE LET ME KNOW WHEN I CAN GET IT ON I TUNES. I DO NOT WANT TO BUY IT OUT OF THE UNITED STATES. I WANT TO BUY IT HERE. I HAVE THE SOUND TRACK PRE-ORDERED, BUT I WANT THIS ON MY I POD NOW. I ALSO PRE-ORDERED ADAMS C D ON AMAZON. I WANT THIS SONG RIGHT NOW. I LOVE IT..
    I JUST LOVE IT

  481. alison8701: I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..

Well…. true, it sure ain’t “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp”, but maybe it’ll do OK, anyway…..

  482. I absolutely love it and can’t stop playing it. Can’t wait to buy it.

  483. I was expecting total fangirlness from Parker, but she really did put it in context.

That’s why I loved her review so much. Because she’s an OTT Adam fan, I loved that she could step back, objectively look at the song for what it is, and STILL thought it was great for its purpose. That’s really how I feel about it. I absolutely love it and think it is vocally awesome. Were this his first single, though, I’d be disappointed because it doesn’t represent Adam’s vibe. I want his album to contain youthful, hip, sexy songs because he’s young, hip (or, as my teens would say, “fresh”) and sexy. I’m glad he did this song, too, though, because it gives the public another perspective on how talented and uniquely versatile he really is!

  484. How random is it that it’s only available in a few countries. American Idol doesn’t air here (Netherlands) so Adam Lambert isn’t on anybody’s radar. Mistake or not, it’s on my iPod, legally and it’s going to stay there :)

I hope AL and Sony enjoy my 99 cents.

  485. alison8701: I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..

I don’t agree that TfM”cheesey” but the Oscar voters go for “cheesey” if that’s what this is: — look at the recent winners:

    2001 (74th) “If I Didn’t Have You” ‘” Monsters, Inc. ‘ ¢ Music and lyrics: Randy Newman

2003 (76th) “Into the West” ‘” The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

2004 (77th) “Al otro lado del rà o” ‘” The Motorcycle Diaries ‘ ¢ Music and lyrics: Jorge Drexler

2005 (78th) “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp” ‘” Hustle & Flow ‘ ¢ Music and lyrics: Juicy J, Frayser Boy and DJ Paul (Houston (Juicy J) & Beauregard (DJ Paul) are members of Three 6 Mafia. Coleman (Frayser Boy) has collaborated with Three 6 Mafia but is not a member.)

2006 (79th) “I Need to Wake Up” ‘” An Inconvenient Truth ‘ ¢ Music and lyrics: Melissa Etheridge

2007 (80th) “Falling Slowly” ‘” Once ‘ ¢ Music and lyrics: Glen Hansard and Markta Irglovà ¡

    2008 (81st) “Jai Ho” ‘“ Slumdog Millionaire ‘ ¢ Music: A. R. Rahman ‘ ¢ Lyrics: Gulzar

The only non-cheesey winner in the 2000’s was in 2002:

2002 (75th) “Lose Yourself” ‘” 8 Mile ‘ ¢ Music: Eminem, Jeff Bass and Luis Resto ‘ ¢ Lyrics: Eminem

And the 1990’s were totally cheesey with Disney domination:

1991 (64th) “Beauty and the Beast” ‘” Beauty and the Beast ‘ ¢ Music: Alan Menken ‘ ¢ Lyrics: Howard Ashman (posthumous winner)

    1992 (65th) “A Whole New World” ‘” Aladdin ‘ ¢ Music: Alan Menken ‘ ¢ Lyrics: Tim Rice

1994 (67th) “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” ‘” The Lion King ‘ ¢ Music: Elton John ‘ ¢ Lyrics: Tim Rice

1995 (68th) “Colors of the Wind” ‘” Pocahontas ‘ ¢ Music: Alan Menken ‘ ¢ Lyrics: Stephen Schwartz

1998 (71st) “When You Believe” ‘” The Prince of Egypt ‘ ¢ Music and lyrics: Stephen Schwartz

    1999 (72nd) “You’ll Be in My Heart” ‘” Tarzan

  486. It could get an Oscar nomination if all the other movie songs released this year are crap. IF there are some good songs though, I doubt it.
Also depends on how big a bomb 2012 is. If it does Okay, it might have a chance. If it is as a mega turkey, I kind of doubt it.

Cheesy songs win but they have to be good cheesy songs. I’m not sure this fits that category.

  487. There is a decidedly non-cheesy backstory to the lyrics, written in 2007 by a couple, quite obviously to each other, about their situation, in a very personal way. The co-writers: Natasha Shneider & Alain Johannes

Oh wow. I didn’t know that. It brings a whole new meaning to the song.

  488. Well’ ¦. true, it sure ain’t ‘It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp’ , but maybe it’ll do OK, anyway’ ¦..

OK, I truly laughed out loud at this one!

  489. ……..I just want to remind everyone that MJ is wonderful to bring this blog to all of us so we can find out the latest news on all things Idol…with that said don’t forget if you are going to buy any of the idols music from Itunes or Amazon do it through MJ’s links. Lets show her how much we appreciate what she provides by helping her keep the blog up and running…..I now return you to the thread topic of Adam and Time for Miracles….

    LOVE THIS SONG

  490. Yes I know Oscars are a cheesefest, but it’s like, good cheese you know? You know there is a difference between my Heart Will Go On and Time for Miracles. It’s not just me, is it? There’s like, sentimental cheesy and I’m going to make an epic song cheesy!

don’t act like y’all don’t smell what I’m steppin in.

  491. I honestly think people who are analyzing whether this song is good, a hit, Oscar-worthy, a bad association because 2012 might flop are kind of missing the boat on what this song is: a way to give Adam name and voice recognition worldwide. Once he has that, his actual music and brand can be put forth. It’s like American Idol in 5 minutes for everyone.

Somebody at Sony sees high potential in Adam and is investing accordingly.

  492. TFM for the Olympics, not sure. But Dallas Cowboys may need it before the season is over

With Tony Romo as their quarterback, who’s totally inept during the playoffs, the Cowboys need to start playing TFM right now.

  493. Well’ ¦. true, it sure ain’t ‘It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp’ , but maybe it’ll do OK, anyway’ ¦..

Hey that is a good song. It is hard out there for a pimp.

  494. “I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..”

But alison what other type song would work for 2012? It’s a cheesy movie if we like it or not. I really don’t care as long as Adam sings it! I am also sure it has a lot of meaning for the writer(s) and in time we will understand the ‘cheesiness’ lol. They have made us wait soooo long for this many expectations have soared to believing it will be the best song ever written, not. Best singer?’ ¦’ ¦..Absolutely!

alison, I hit submit before I was finished, lol. Regarding an Oscar nom, I kinda thought Phil Collins song You’ll Be in My Heart in 2000 for Tarzan was very cheesy, JMO. If you think about it there have been LOTS of cheesy songs win the shiny gold. YMMV

    >

  495. There’s a pretty big difference between MYHWGO and TFM. Also that song was associated with an incredible love story. This one will be associated with the end of the world.
So that ramps up the cheese factor quite abit. By the way if 2012 bombs how is that good for the Adam brand??

  496. dhunken, I saw you on a yahoo blog. Totally rocked my world. You’re everywhere. It’s like seeing someone you know in a different town and being confused and not knowing who they are because you’re so used to seeing them only at school and when they’re some where else it’s just mind boggling.

  497. Cheesy songs win but they have to be good cheesy songs. I’m not sure this fits that category.

    That’s ok Jpfan… I am sure! ;-)

  498. http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/06/29/academy-awards-change-best-original-song-rules/
New rules for Oscar Songs… “tunes that soundtrack the end credits but lose a lot their meaning when isolated from the rest of the film. All three songs won the Golden Globes’ Best Original Song category, yet none earned even an Oscar nod.”

Quote from the end of the article…this actually made me feel better.

So even if its not Oscar rule worthy we could still see a Nom and performance on the Golden Globes! I’ll take it.

  499. gemni- Jim C is married. To a woman.

Hmmmm. My gaydar is WAY off.
I think Adam has messed me all up. Adam is such an Alpha male. Who knew a gay man could bring out such animalistic lust in woman?

  500. It’s probably just as well, as you say. It’s an extremely painful song lyrically.

I agree. On first listen, I was focused on Adam’s voice. Then, I listened to the lyrics. Oh my God. I have a feeling they were written the night of Natasha’s prognosis.

But, in the context of the film, it’s uplifting and hopeful. It’s a good movie song.

  501. Holy Crap, I always thought Jim C was gay and had the hots for Kris Allen. Hes married?? to a female? A real female??

Anyways, just listened to the song again, still just okay for me.

  502. There’s a pretty big difference between MYHWGO and TFM. Also that song was associated with an incredible love story. This one will have images of things blowing up.
So that ramps up the cheese factor quite abit.

    An incredibly CHEESY love story.

I don’t think TFM is MHWGO level either, but arguing about which song is more cheesy is kind of futile. Cheesy is cheesy is cheesy.

  503. This is the earth-shattering number we’ve all been waiting for? Are you seriously kidding me? It sounds like another lame Idol coronation tune.

Maybe, but with Adam’s amazing vocals, I wouldn’t call it lame ;-)

  504. I haven’t caught up to the thread and honestly I don’t care what has been said. I have been listening to the song for hours and I’m seriously addicted. It’s damn good.

I’ll come back back later to discuss. Sorry MJ, but when I come back, I’m coming armed. Back off from BB. I taking all comers.

Of course, I will observe all MJ rules.

  505. I like this part of Lyndsey’s review. I agree with it 100%!!!

“Don’t worry, we’ll likely get some indie-ish electropop from Adam later. And I am certainly looking forward to hearing that side of Adam’s personality as well. But right now, this is certainly the way for him to start his recording career with a big BANG:”

  506. I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..

Well the Oscars have traditionally liked cheese, but last year they awarded it to the lovely, understated and totally not cheesy Falling Slowly, so they don’t necsssarily gravitate towards that.

But I feel that is moot, because no way this song is going to be nominated for an Oscar. The film is a shlockly disaster pic and yes, I do think it has a high chance of being a financial bomb, they better hope the non-US markets do well. And yeah, imho, the song isn’t good enough on it’s own to get out from the wake of that. Best case scenario and the film does well financially, will still get a drubbing critically of course, I still don’t think this song is strong enough to get a nom. I really think that talking about Oscar noms is beyond premature, to put it mildly.

I don’t think Oscar talk will ever happen outside Adam stans. I’ll just be happy if this song does well financially, because that is in doubt to me as well for anyone outside of Adam’s fanbase.

  507. ‘I think the song is a bit too cheesy for an Oscar nom..’

But alison what other type song would work for 2012? It’s a cheesy movie if we like it or not. I really don’t care as long as Adam sings it! I am also sure it has a lot of meaning for the writer(s) and in time we will understand the ‘cheesiness’ lol. alison, I hit submit before I was finished, lol. Regarding an Oscar nom, I kinda thought Phil Collins song You’ll Be in My Heart in 2000 for Tarzan was very cheesy, JMO. If you think about it there have been LOTS of cheesy songs win the shiny gold. YMMV

I said in a prior post that it’s a contrived song for a contrived movie. I acknowledged years ago that it fit the theme of the movie. And I reckon that’s a positive.

and You’ll Be in My Heart! Hey, don’t drag Phil Collins into this. That is a very touching song. Time for Miracles is no You’ll be in my heart.

come stop your crying, it’ll be alright.. just take my hand, hold it tight. Man, I’m going to listen to that song right now.

  508. Apparently Rant Tweeting can produce results parallelling the After Many Cocktails kind. Apologies, it’s @SonyMusicGlobal who are not listening to consumer demand for legit TFM now. (Corrected earlier post oops. Managed it once correctly on Twitter though.) They don’t seem to work weekends at correct Twitter address, either.

Fascinating how Twitter is full of “Time for Miracles” tweets. And legit review outlets now. But, currently, only one tweet @SonyMusicGlobal asking them for legal download.

  509. Somebody at Sony sees high potential in Adam and is investing accordingly.
AS WELL THEY SHOULD. HE IS GOLDEN. YOU WILL SEE. HE CAN!!!!

  510. Well’ ¦. true, it sure ain’t ‘It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp’ ,

Hey! I love that song…

but yes, OScar songs and cheesy go pretty much hand in hand.Unless you dont watch the Oscars and didnt know what songs have won over the years, you wouldnt make the comment that TFM was too cheesy fo the Academy..its right up that street, and it isnt even cheesy to begin with, IMO

But knock on wood..lets see how it goes…..

Oscar, busker whatever…..I love it, thinks it’s a great song

  511. Let’s get real —

“2012” will not get great reviews (Emmerich movies never get great reviews) but it will gross a ton.

I think Lindsey Parker nailed it perfectly in her review — it is the right kind of song for a movie like “2012”.

Like it or not — TfM will be a hit.

  512. don’t act like y’all don’t smell what I’m steppin in.

Yea, Alison. You got to go to the Fair???

  513. Holy Crap, I always thought Jim C was gay and had the hots for Kris Allen. Hes married?? to a female? A real female??

It’s insane, we know. But just keep in mind, gay men get married to women all the time.

  514. are kind of missing the boat on what this song is: a way to give Adam name and voice recognition worldwide

Actually though Adam getting recognition from the song is good I really don’t think that it was at all the driving force behind the song.

Time for Miracles is a song for a movie…end of story. It wasn’t like Adam had this song out there and someone heard it and put it in their movie. Nope the movie and the song came first, the dynamics of the song second, and Adam third. Sure everything is to everyones mutual benefit but no one did this for Adam’s sake. If he can parlay this song into personal success…good for him.

  515. Yea, Alison. You got to go to the Fair???

Silly, that’s not until next week. but no, I’m not going.

  516. So “cheesy” equals “touchy feely” equals “emotional side” equals cheesy? Geez.

I think it will be heard as a beautiful love song by most, and in context with the movie it will be heard as “we will survive this nightmare together.”

  517. jpfan

This one will be associated with the end of the world.

I disagree I think the film will leave the viewer feeling that life can go on and that even one life or one family saved from a tragedy is a miracle in itself. Time for Miracles fits right in.

We will have to see the movie but I get the impression from the clips that go into the ‘life boats’ provided by the government and the IHC companion website with survival scenarios, the movie will end uplifting the viewer even if through tears.

  518. There’s a pretty big difference between MYHWGO and TFM. Also that song was associated with an incredible love story. This one will have images of things blowing up.
So that ramps up the cheese factor quite abit.

Now I wonder if you have even listened to it in full.
This song is not about “things blowing up” any more than MHWGO was about a ship sinking- IMO one would be crazy to view it in such a limited fashion.
It is about finding the strength to go on in the face of overwhelming tragedy, whether of a personal or global nature.

  519. By the way if 2012 bombs how is that good for the Adam brand??

It means nothing for Adam’s brand. John Cusack is who you should be worried about if 2012 bombs. LOL Adam is singing a song, he’s not acting in it. They aren’t even using Adam’s picture on the cover of the song which they shouldn’t. Its not about Adam, its about the movie’s theme.

dhunken, I saw you on a yahoo blog. Totally rocked my world. You’re everywhere. It’s like seeing someone you know in a different town and being confused and not knowing who they are because you’re so used to seeing them only at school and when they’re some where else it’s just mind boggling.

I know I feel the same way! Like going to another state or country and running into someone you know. Hope your day is going well!

  521. Truthiness, thanks for being the voice of reason. Everything Adam does won’t be an 11. It’s nice to see some more balanced responses from a fan.

  522. There’s a pretty big difference between MYHWGO and TFM.

“My Heart Will Go On” was also from the biggest money making movie ever ($601 million domestic and $1.85 billion worldwide, $1.2 billion in DVD sales and rentals) which also won 11 Oscars including Best Picture (it was nominated for 14). It even manages an 82% on the Tomatometer. We mock it now, but Titanic and that song were HUGE that year.

That’s not to say that TFM won’t also be huge. The buzz for Titanic prior to it’s release was quite bad. Everybody was anticipating an epic train wreck and that that egomaniac James Cameron would finally get his just desserts. So, let’s wait until we see the movie.

  523. I know I feel the same way! Like going to another state or country and running into someone you know. Hope your day is going well!

it’s bizarre alright. And the same to you, dhunken.

  524. Time for Miracles is a song for a movie’ ¦end of story. It wasn’t like Adam had this song out there and someone heard it and put it in their movie. Nope the movie and the song came first, the dynamics of the song second, and Adam third. Sure everything is to everyones mutual benefit but no one did this for Adam’s sake. If he can parlay this song into personal success’ ¦good for him.

    Yup!! Totally agree.

  525. Actually though Adam getting recognition from the song is good I really don’t think that it was at all the driving force behind the song.

Time for Miracles is a song for a movie’ ¦end of story.

Oh, away from Adam, I agree. The song screams disaster flick and probably works better with visuals. I meant in terms of how it will affect Adam outside of the film song. There is a ridiculous amount of Sony cross-promo going on here, and I don’t think it is purely for 2012.

Film songs are their own thing anyway and harder to predict than a regular song since there are associations and visuals that accompany it (I honestly think I will like this better with explosions and crumbling buildings, so I look forward to the video). I knew ska-punk chicks in high school who wouldn’t listen to Celine normally get sentimental over “My Heart Will Go On” because of the reminders. I’m not saying this will replicate the success or that model, but songs for film hit pop culture in a different way than a non-film song.

  526. There’s a pretty big difference between MYHWGO and TFM. Also that song was associated with an incredible love story.

Oh my gosh…the boat sinks!! And the story was totally lame and unconvincing and the movie stunk. And it made millions and won an oscar…and it was cheese at its finest.

  527. We mock it now, but Titanic and that song were HUGE that year.

I saw Titanic 3 times in the theater that year. lol And I still know all the words to MHWGO.

  528. Oh my gosh’ ¦the boat sinks!!

That was some pretty sweet CGI and special effects for the era.

Not surprising, it won the Oscar for that too. And cinematography. Well, the list goes on and on. Just like the song and her heart.

  529. Oh my gosh’ ¦the boat sinks!! And the story was totally lame and unconvincing and the movie stunk. And it made millions and won an oscar’ ¦and it was cheese at its finest.

Very true. there was so much focus on the love story since we all knew from history that the boat sunk.

  530. You’ll Be in My Heart! Hey, don’t drag Phil Collins into this.

If you noticed I followed that statement by……..J M O:

I kinda thought Phil Collins song You’ll Be in My Heart in 2000 for Tarzan was very cheesy, JMO.

  531. Truthiness: Well the Oscars have traditionally liked cheese, but last year they awarded it to the lovely, understated and totally not cheesy Falling Slowly, so they don’t necsssarily gravitate towards that.

The 2008 winner was the totally cheesey Bollywood song “Jai Ho” ‘“ Slumdog Millionaire — won. “Falling Slowly” won the 2007 Academy Award.

  532. I haven’t read the comments yet, just listened to the song for the first time, love his voice, love the build up, love the emotion and can’t wait for the video! Oh, and the download, and the movie, and his other single and his CD and tour. It does totally remind me of the power ballads of the 70’s and 80’s. LOVE IT!

Well I’m sure I’m considered the Debbie Downer of the Adam stanworld. LOL. Oh well.

Oh yeah, thanks for the correction Q3, yeah Falling Slowly won the year before the last one. Jai Ho isn’t a cheesy rock ballad type crap song either though, so there is that as well.

  534. If high worldwide gross = great movies, then can someone explain the top movie gross list? There isn’t a great movie on this list. But these are movies that entertain poeple:

    1. Titanic (1997) $1,835,300,000
    2. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) $1,129,219,252
    3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006) $1,060,332,628
    4. The Dark Knight (2008) $1,001,921,825

    9. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) $922,379,000

    15. Shrek 2 (2004) $880,871,036
    16. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) $866,300,000
    17. Finding Nemo (2003) $865,000,000
    18. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) $860,700,000
    19. Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005) $848,462,555
    20. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) $832,076,689
    21. Independence Day (1996) $811,200,000

Note: the possible exception to my great movie comment is “Dark Knight”.

Like I said in the other thread, the over-the-top screeching still does quite a number on my ears. I can tell when Adam is about to project his tongue from out of his mouth (a prerequisite for the screaming)’ ¦.so I know when to turn the volume down. I literally cringe when does that.

Hopefully, someone can remind me that I will continue to hate Adam and that we all have different tastes because, gosh darn it, I keep forgetting.

I’m just reminding you that we have different tastes, etc…because you keep forgetting and posting the same thing – there, feel better ?
Also, I think you can probably do some damage to your sensitive ears listening to the ‘screeching’ so don’t. There is lots and lots of mellow music out there.

  536. O.K I’ll probably get alot sh… for this but IMO MHWGO was one of the cheesiest songs EVER, and Titanic never made me shed a tear! TFM, however, is soooo beautifully emotional in both the softer low range and from the 3 minute mark on, it moves me beyond belief!

  537. Lord of the Rings is a great movie.. and HP a great book… TFM won’t be on that list though, so.. irrelevant.

  538. Now there’s a cheesefest of Titanic proportions – when I finally watched it on cable years later I was appalled at how apeshit people had gone over it, as it was no better than a smarmy made-for-TV movie. Maybe it was the song that turned me off. I never could listen to Celine Dion – she’s way too screechy for me. Lady, whoa, indoor voices, please! Lower that register down below the human/dog threshhold, would ya??

Yeah, so I’m thrilled I can tolerate TfM well enough to give it a home next to “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp”. Yo, Adam, holla, baby!

Truthiness, thanks for being the voice of reason. Everything Adam does won’t be an 11. It’s nice to see some more balanced responses from a fan.

My feeling is Truthiness is giving an opinion on the song just like I am. Truthiness being more negative does not necessarily make it more balanced, Just not as favorable. (speaking of which I am concerned that there may be pods around Truthinness’s house). :-)

  540. For those listening to TFM on their computers. Try using headphones guys, Computer speakers suck in general, and this song is of such high production value that it needs headphones or decent speakers for the nuance to come through. There are so many layers to this song, you can’t hear them on your computer.

    Enjoy. :)

Truthiness, thanks for being the voice of reason. Everything Adam does won’t be an 11. It’s nice to see some more balanced responses from a fan.

Truthines is the voice of reason because she is a fan who does not like the song? Alrighty then, so liking it makes one unreasonable.

  542. Please ignore if this has already been mentioned, but…

Everybody, especially those who don’t like this song either in parts or the whole thing, should keep in mind we are hearing only versions with very mediocre audio at best. A download link kindly provided got a 64k bit/sec mp3 file, inadequate for even a mono music source. Even iTunes downloads are lacking when compared to actual CD tracks. I expect the “real thing” to be much better.

Not complaining, but just saying maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss something based on somewhat low quality evidence.

Personally, I find the song growing on me. I was a bit disappointed on first listen, but surprisingly found myself crying on the 7th or 8th listen. Not bawling, but there were a few tears.

Songs almost never do that to me.

  543. Honestly, if Adam hadn’t recorded this song would anyone here bother with TFM or 2012. I highly doubt it. Or if they did (it seems like a fun popcorn movie), I kinda doubt they’d be thinking Oscar.

And the movies on the list have quite a few entertaining, classic films on there.

  544. Jai Ho isn’t a cheesy rock ballad type crap song either though

    You’re right, it’s not…..

LOL jpfan. So the only balanced response from an Adam fan is one that criticizes the song? Does different strokes for different folks not apply to music?

  546. Oh wow, I had really missed that sound. Hearing those high notes again was like going a year without chocolate and then eating a gallon of brownie fudge ice cream.

  547. Look I love this song. Other people may not. I can’t imagine buying either “Falling Slowly” or “Jai Ho”, but I will buy TfM the moment that someone at RCA lets me.

And, I will go on the record saying that in “2012” will have a worldwide gross over $800 million — in other words will not be a financial “bomb”.

Uh,,,well, this is an Idol blog, so no, I doubt it would be discussed here if anyone else had recorded the song. However, since Adam did, that makes it a huge topic for discussion, here and many other places, as well, where vocal virtuosity is valued.

  550. O.K I’ll probably get alot sh’ ¦ for this but IMO MHWGO was one of the cheesiest songs EVER, and Titanic never made me shed a tear!

LOL. The song sucked big time (and the cheesastic smacking of her chest she did during the Oscar performance made it even worse), but come on. You didn’t feel just a little sniffly when SpyDaddy was standing there all dejected in the dining room with his boat sinking around him and refusing to try to get on a life boat? Victor Garber was awesome in that movie. I loved it when he smacked down everybody about how the boat will sink.

  551. LOVE IT!

I don’t think my comment is in line with a disaster flick, but the first two verses of this song are so romantic and sexy…WoW!

  552. Did RL work first and came to MJ’s to check out the news. While I was hoping to see some pics from Detail’s racy photo shoot, I started screaming when I found out TFM was out. I called everyone I knew! Unanimous! We all love it! Everyone is so excited and want to know WHEN CAN WE BUY the darn thing! Awesome! Awesome! Made me cry!

  553. Just looked at a lot of the online polls for TfM — running about 89% positive, 7% OK/neutral, 4% negative. That’s an average of the 19 “vote once” polls that I found online that were on general (non-Adam) websites. I think that is amazingly positive.

  554. Honestly, if Adam hadn’t recorded this song would anyone here bother with TFM or 2012. I highly doubt it. Or if they did (it seems like a fun popcorn movie), I kinda doubt they’d be thinking Oscar.

I, for one, would have thought it was an incredibly beautiful ballad. I don’t know if I would have purchased it or not, but I think if it received enough radio play that it started sticking in my head, I would have. I also think the movie stands a chance at the Oscars for effects, and the song stands a really good chance. JMHO.

    .

I don’t think even the producers of the movie are thinking Oscar just thinking MONEY!!!!. I am fairly sure Adam is not thinking Oscar either, more opportunity or platform. He is humble that way. Yes I would be interested in the movie even if Adam was not part of it. And as far as this part of your statement “if Adam hadn’t recorded this song would anyone here bother with TFM” I Agree, and that is exactly why the producers wanted Adam for the song and not someone else. Because most likely no one would be interested in it if it did not have Adam singing it.

  556. I CRIED WHEN I FIRST HEAR THIS SONG. I JUST CRIED. I CLOSED MY EYES AND LET THIS SONG TOUCH MY SOUL.

  557. Truthiness, thanks for being the voice of reason. Everything Adam does won’t be an 11. It’s nice to see some more balanced responses from a fan.

Or maybe Truthiness just has a different opinion. It doesn’t make it wrong or right. Just different. Like all things in life, some will like it, and some won’t. hopefully for Adam, more will like than dislike it.

On another note, this thread is really blowing up! If this is just for a movie track I can’t imagine the responses when Adam’s album drops.

  558. Just looked at a lot of the online polls for TfM ‘” running about 89% positive, 7% OK/neutral, 4% negative. That’s an average of the 19 ‘vote once’ polls that I found online that were on general (non-Adam) websites. I think that is amazingly positive.

That is just so, so great! I noticed that the rumblings on Twitter were really positive. Yay!!!! I’m so happy for Adam and his fans!

  559. Honestly, if Adam hadn’t recorded this song would anyone here bother with TFM or 2012. I highly doubt it. Or if they did (it seems like a fun popcorn movie), I kinda doubt they’d be thinking Oscar.

No we would be discussing it here but it is all over movie sites. Also, no one is suggesting that “2012” will be nominated for Best Picture. I believe that TfM will be nominated for Best song 1. because it is good, and 2. because “2012” employed a lot, a whole lot, of people in industry. That means it will get some nominations!

We don’t even know if TfM would have even been in the movie without Adam BUT there is no way that a $250 million Roland Emmerich movie would be ignored. There have been fansites for this movie since at least February 2008 when the script details were revealed. His movies have a lot of fans. Adam is lucky to get this opportunity.

Also — every major studio bid on this movie, no one passed on it. It is the biggest budget movie in the world, it is Sony Pictures — it isn’t some $100,000 indie flick that would have been overlooked.

  560. Hopefully, someone can remind me that I will continue to hate Adam and that we all have different tastes because, gosh darn it, I keep forgetting.

Tony, I think there’s an app for that.

LOL jpfan. So the only balanced response from an Adam fan is one that criticizes the song? Does different strokes for different folks not apply to music?

jpfan: Truthiness swings both ways. (haha)
She is a Kris and Adam fan and has been critical of LLWD. Thank goodness for a Kris fan who can give be a voice of reason and give a balanced response on that craptastic cover.

  562. jpfan: I will agree with you that I could care less about 2012, so yeah, Adam singing TFM is the only thing that has me even a little interested in that movie. (But not enough to see it. I will be downloading TFM as soon as it’s released however.)

As far as Adam’s fans liking the song because they are not balanced in their opinion? Really? I think many people that love Adam love his voice and IMO this song showcases that beautifully. But maybe you are right. Then the same goes for non-fans not liking the song, I would think. Not entirely objective. And even though you have some common ground with Truthiness in not liking the song I see you commented you only liked the beginning of the song while she said she only liked the end. ;-) I think there is room for all opinions here and I like to see them. I wouldn’t say some carry more weight than others necessarily.

  563. Zsus

Hopefully, someone can remind me that I will continue to hate Adam and that we all have different tastes because, gosh darn it, I keep forgetting.

    LOL!

  564. Truthines is the voice of reason because she is a fan who does not like the song? Alrighty then, so liking it makes one unreasonable.

Well Truthiness did like parts of it (starting at about 3:00), and because Truthiness is a huge Adam stan, she’ll still buy it and will listen to it many times trying to like the beginning. And because Truthiness is an Adam stan she also defended Adam against the whole “shrieking,” and “screaming” charge, because it’s not accurate, though I have no problem whatsoever with people saying it sounds like shrieking and screaming to them. Just that it’s not really those things. Just like it’s not true that not liking Adam’s wailing in higher registers doesn’t mean you don’t understand music and rock music. Maybe that is what jpfan meant by balanced?

So yeah, not to make it all about me, but since I’m being mentioned a lot by other people, I’m not the one making it all about me. ;)

  565. Yeah, I guess I’m not seeing the whole zomg! Truthiness’s OPINION is any more balanced or relevant than any one else’s. Some like it, some don’t. It AIN’T that deep!

  566. Jai Ho isn’t a cheesy rock ballad type crap song either though

    You’re right, it’s not’ ¦..
    Its just crap

I just youtubed Jai Ho…OMG it’s so bad!!!!!!Whoever said TFM isn’t good enough for oscar should listen to Jai Ho!!!!

  567. I don’t understand the point of arguing about the respective cheesiness levels of one cheesy movie (2012) vs. another cheesy movie (Titanic)?

They’re both pretty cheesy, I’m sure, but that doesn’t seem to have much to do with how well 2012 will do (who knows?) or the potential exposure/publicity Adam will get from singing this (probably quite nice, so that’s good).

I dunno…it doesn’t seem that complicated to me.

  568. Truthiness, thanks for being the voice of reason. Everything Adam does won’t be an 11. It’s nice to see some more balanced responses from a fan

I am glad Adam is at least trying to reach for an eleven, it’s better than the ones aiming to just be average. He could have ended up doing the exact copy of a cover or heaven forbid bubblegum pop. I think I can live with this ten, maybe next time he will get that eleven.

  569. I am puzzled about what is going on with the release strategy on this. Amazon US pushed it back to 10/27 last night, then it gets released in Europe.

Was this supposed to happen? Or did they try to move it back to 10/27 and blew it in parts of Europe?

Just not making sense to me — why Belgium, Netherlands and Italy? But not the rest of the world?

  570. Honestly, if Adam hadn’t recorded this song would anyone here bother with TFM or 2012. I highly doubt it.

Well, if another idol had recorded this song, there would have also been discussion here, but, I guess, with not too many posts ;-)

  571. 14 pages of words, words, words. Far too many words.

I think that I’ll listen to the music instead.

I’m sure that the writers would be pleased. Rob Cavallo and Adam Lambert have done their work well.

  572. “Lord of the Rings” right was entertainment to me at least some good eyecandy watching also…I think 2010 would be a good popcorn movie oh the song it is nice just not the best thing wriiten..

bridgette12-Thank you! Well put. I tried to check out the other threads but they sure are bare and lonely. The glittery alien draws all the attention whether you like him or not. I love the song and love Adam’s vocals on a new song. I can’t stop listening to it, each time I notice a new riff or nuance in his voice. The way he sings “oh God I wish I could make you see” just slays me with the yearning I hear.

  578. Truthines is the voice of reason because she is a fan who does not like the song? Alrighty then, so liking it makes one unreasonable.

Ah, so in order to be reasonable one must dislike this song. Hmm.

After mulling that over I think I am going to stick with being unreasonable for now. Hey, if loving you is wrong I don’t want to be right so if liking this song is unreasonable I don’t want to be reasonable….

  579. Polls, shmolls….the better possibility is that Adam fans are on these polls and it is likened to a poll for Obama…..poll predominately Republicans and his favor ability would be 4%…..poll Dems and it would be 96%…. ;)

I liked the song but would have never even sought it out if not for Adam singing it. (The movie is scary!!!!!)

  580. First time I listened to it, I had goosebumps. I love it!! And I’ll be up late again tonight to download it.

I don’t understand it. We were all impatiently waiting to hear the whole song and now that we did, ppl are picking it apart!! I just hope it won’t be like this when Adam’s cd drops.

Like Adam was saying, not all ppl will get it. But I will!!!

  581. By the way if 2012 bombs how is that good for the Adam brand??

It means nothing for Adam’s brand. John Cusack is who you should be worried about if 2012 bombs.

Eh, John Cusack doesn’t have to worry either. He’s been around too long and been a proven entity for far too long. Everyone knows actors are just collecting paychecks on movies like this.

The only dude who has to be worried about his brand, as it were, if 2012 bombs is Emmerlich. Because he already just had the 10,000 B.C. stink bomb immediately before this (which admittedly made money mainly because of foreign gross, but a hell of a lot less than people were expecting).

  582. Was this supposed to happen? Or did they try to move it back to 10/27 and blew it in parts of Europe?

I think someone at Amazon is mixing up the release of the entire Soundtrack against the release of TFM

  583. ok..time for me to add my opinion here amongst the 100s of others’…

i like the beginning…but it kind of loses me in the middle..the chorus is a bit boring and i tune out a bit…but i like the instruments part in it…and lyrics-wise, very very cheesy

but i can listen to any song with adam’s voice so its an ok for me…but what does it matter? its gonna be big anyway…and adam will get landed the oscar everyone is talking abt…heh!

  584. I WANT TO SEE ADAM SING THIS SONG IN THE TRAILER THEY WILL HAVE BEFORE THIS IS IT MOVIE. I CAN’T WAIT ..

  585. Will this song be on itunes? Right now I’m just listening to it on my PC altho I do have some really good speakers. I have a Macbook now, but don’t like listening to music on it. No comparison to my good speakers on my PC.

Adam screaming? I don’t hear any screaming at all. As a matter of fact, he sings for over three minutes even before he starts hitting his high notes. I really, really don’t understand those comments. As Simon Cowell would say, the vocals are immaculate.

ETA: Sarah, Adam may sing this song at the awards show, but he wouldn’t be getting an Oscar because he didn’t write it.

  586. Is it possible that the release has been pushed back because they might remix or whatever they do to make the song better?

  587. some of you are talking about a “cover”, what are you talking about???

  588. I don’t understand it. We were all impatiently waiting to hear the whole song and now that we did, ppl are picking it apart!! I just hope it won’t be like this when Adam’s cd drops.

It’s not Adam fans who are picking it apart.

No, the song is finished. The speculation is that they were pushing back the release of TFM to coincide with the video promo that will precede MJ’s This Is It film.

  590. It’s not Adam fans who are picking it apart.

Nope, because why would they? It has Adam in it so of course it’s super amazing- reason be damned, it’s phenom, okay, no thinking required.

I say that in jest, of course respecting all of Adam’s fan’s opinions on the matter.

  591. Is it possible that the release has been pushed back because they might remix or whatever they do to make the song better?

From what I’m hearing now, I’d pull Adam’s backup vocals out of the second part. Of course, they may work better in the full-fidelity version. But they are a bit distracting in the Internet versions.

  592. i love the song and adams voice is just as amazing as ever. i cant wait to see him perform the song at the academy awards next year!!!

  593. Adam screaming? I don’t hear any screaming at all. As a matter of fact, he sings for over three minutes even before he starts hitting his high notes. I really, really don’t understand those comments.

ITA. I never did see what the “screaming” comments were all about. He’s singing notes impre
