  1. Just when I think I’m done with that song, Adam pulls another sleeve. That was the most stunning, emotional, beautiful, heartfelt performance I’ve ever seen him do. Gosh, that was just incredible. He’s just getting better and betterer.

  2. Yep as I said on the other thread- saw this live – this is how I like to see Adam- he sounded good.
I was just confused that they didn’t interview him like they do other artists!!The trouble with Adam having many sides to his performances is that they [ like the Mardi Gras & AMAs ] don’t translate to a morning Family programme – so maybe to avoid any “awkward” moments they decided not to interview him live!!

  3. This is the best he’s sounded on this song. Surprising since he partied ’til morn the night the before.

I like his outfit a LOT. And he looks 90789797897598 X better without makeup offstage. Really cute.

  4. Very, very nice rendition.

I think the insturmentation (especially the drums) sounded especially beautiful with Adam’s voice on this one. Was he hoarse or did he “rough it up” a bit on purpose? Either way, I agree with lorismile; this was one of the best WWFM versions Adam has ever done.

  5. … Adam having many sides to his performances is that they [ like the Mardi Gras & AMAs ] don’t translate to a morning Family programme

    This is stating the obvious.
Did Adam show up in a codpiece and tights to do a morning show? It looks like Adam showed up at Sunrise in appropriate attire and sang an appropriate song.

Adam’s Mardi Gras outfit would not translate well to a morning show. I doubt the people who attended Mardi Gras will show up to their workplace in the same outfits they wore (or didn’t wear) to the festivities on Saturday night.

  6. Oh wow — that was an absolutely gorgeous rendition of WWFM. Just when I thought I was about to get tired of the same old, same old performance of the song, he mixes it up in a very nice way. Like MJ said, it was definitely a complete 180 from his FYE performance. I’m glad that he’s showing people the many sides that he has. (:

They did interview him, I think you just missed it.

??? He was interviewed before he performed.

  9. Utterly Beautiful!!!! He sounds tired, hardly surprizing, but he also sounds lovely.

He is simply gorgeous, isn’t he?

    Sigh. :)

Think he will do something like this for his Am Idol return?

You don’t have to worry anymore. There wasn’t any censorship.
From a fellow Australian at PF:

Sunrise – they did a quick standup interview talking about how important it is to him that the look and the music go together. He made a joke about how in theatre they were always making him take off the nailpolish etc so is nice to be able to be himself.

Wearing black pants, long gray/brown shirt with ribbon detail, black vest, good boy emo hair, minimal makeup, shiny boots.

Sang WWFM acoustic with Monte and LP. Gorgeous. Lots of closeups so people will love the vid when it surfaces. Basically 180 Adam from MG – boy knows how to change it up. They pushed the Album.

In the intro they called him one of America’s most controversial singers but went on to note that there is more to him than just stage antics. They loved the song and also gave a shout out to Voodoo as being with Sam Sparro.

  11. Wow that was very nice, I liked it a lot. Did he have a little bit of a tear in his eye.? I would hate that I dont like seeing him sad. I like his little dangling earing, never saw him wearing one like that before.

  12. That was beautiful!

In this lighting with that make up his skin looks perfect. Hope he’s taking notes.

  13. “awkward” moments they decided not to interview him live!!

Please give him some credit. Do you think he is going to jump the male interviewers or something? Hahaha. He has been on virtually every talk show in America and hasn’t done a single awkward thing.

    Good grief.

  14. I’ve never considered it “trouble” that Adam has so many sides to his performances. He’s new to people outside the Idol bubble, and it’s hard possibly to understand that somebody CAN have so many sides and be so intelligent that he knows when to put it out there and when to pull it in. He’s proving himself to the world right now and it’s exciting to see people “get” him.

  15. Yes. He looked and sounded absolutely perfect. I liked that his voice was a bit raspy and his eyes had a glint of tears at times. Very moving! The make up was probably one of the best I have seen so far. I don’t think they could have done a closer close up unless the camera went right up his nose. Even the camera can’t get close enought to BB.

  16. Hahaha well there was the “I wanna be big down under” line from the SYTYCDAu inter view. Heheh I kid I kid. Could help myself.

I thought that was a tear on his lower lids toward the mid section of the song. Could have been glare from the lights too, but it seemed to disappear later in the song. Love the dangling earring too…very hot!

  18. i still can’t understand why he chose this and FYE as his singles when he has amazing songs like ‘music again’, ‘soaked’ and even sleepwalker. it’s as if he wants to destroy it for himself.

  19. Wow, I love the gravelly voice he has going on here! And the whole performance came off so emotional and heartfelt. Awesome! :D

  20. I’m thinking the hoarse voice was just the video. When I played it twice again the male host’s voice was gravely too.

I am stunned on how beautiful this was. I think his eyes were just watery. He mentioned this recently in an interview on how his eyes water up sometimes when he doesn’t get enough sleep (mine do too).

Thank you mj so much for this. I’m cryin’ a bit.

  21. @rainbowsun
It’s about what appeals to the masses, and what translates well to radio. The majority of people really like WWFM, including a LOT of non-fans.

I personally can not stand Music Again. Sleepwalker, Soaked, Fever, Broken Open, Voodoo are great tracks. And he needs to release them.

  22. Brought this over from the other thread since this one has been created by MJ (Thanks MJ) About him not being interviewed He was!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the post I have brought over it is from tiger92:

oooops- You missed it. They interviewed him BEFORE he sang.

    This is what you missed:

So no reason to be worried or speculate because Adam was interviewed all is right with the world. :-)

i still can’t understand why he chose this and FYE as his singles when he has amazing songs like ‘music again’, ’soaked’ and even sleepwalker. it’s as if he wants to destroy it for himself.

Can’t say I agree with this. #1…WWFM is doing excellent on radio. #2…I’m most positive that Adam doesn’t have the majority rule on what singles will go to radio. RCA isn’t new at this, you can be guaranteed that every song and every angle was studied out before they release one.

I do feel however that they gave him his way on releasing FYE first. Adam seemed very adamant that FYE was a good first choice when it was released. I think sometimes he forgets that America as a whole is a little different from the club world he’s lived in for 8 years. It’s a great club dance song, and other countries seem to be embracing it, but American radio just wasn’t ready yet.

  24. Yeah that was mezmerizing. God I love that guy. I thought I saw a tear but I think it was a glare as well. Still it sold the song even more..who want to see him cry. I sure don’t.

  25. i still can’t understand why he chose this and FYE as his singles when he has amazing songs like ‘music again’, ’soaked’ and even sleepwalker. it’s as if he wants to destroy it for himself.

So, the alternate choices you listed are obviously your favorites. For one thing, I seriously doubt Adam has the ultimate say in what his label releases, and for another, WWFM is doing well here and both WWFM and FYE are charting amazingly high in other countries. How is he “destroying” himself? Seems like everyone is loving him!

  26. Sunrise actually had three segments all up on Adam. They interviewed him before he performed, then later he did the acoustic performance of WWFM, then a couple of segments later again they showed him greeting his fans.

The whole purpose of the third segment seemed to be about giving the presenters, Mel and Kochie, an opportunity to emphasise how nice Adam Lambert is. Mel said the fans had been waiting for hours and that it was a secret, but at Sunrise they judged artists on how they treated the fans who turned up – then they showed Adam outside the studio greeting his fans and signing autographs. Kochie went out of his way to say that Adam is a really nice guy. I thought that was great. Kochie was Australia’s Father of the Year in 2007.

  27. That was really beautiful – so different from the stripped acoustic version (also gorgeous). Adam looks really handsome too. Nice!

  28. That was beautiful. He sounds incredible every time he sings WWFM live and this is one of the best performances ever.

On a side note…does anyone know why Monte and Longineu are with Adam but Tommy is still in LA? I have tried to find info about it in comments and by looking at their tweets but can’t find anything. Tommy is still with the band isn’t he?

  29. Beautiful.

I love his voice, makeup, and outfit on here. Totally different from MG. Indeed Adam knows how to change it up.

  30. Wow, that was beautiful. Such a great song—I am still loving it.

  31. i still can’t understand why he chose this and FYE as his singles when he has amazing songs like ‘music again’, ’soaked’ and even sleepwalker. it’s as if he wants to destroy it for himself.

They didn’t choose Music Again because it is a rock ballad, and the HAC and Top 40 stations won’t play it. Adam explicitly said that MA is off the table for a single release because of the radio play issue.

Same issue regarding Soaked; they didn’t pick it because the radios won’t play it.

They still might select Sleepwalker, which the radios will play.

On the other hand, Pink is a proven radio hit maker, and her songs get airplay. That’s why they released it.
From what I’ve gathered, there are only a few songs on this album that will work for radio play–although all the songs are exceptional in their own way. Most albums contain many songs that could never be released as a single because they won’t gain the necessary radio play.

Before following Adam, I didn’t understand much about the radio play issue, but programming directors have a lot of control, and they are looking for very specific types of songs to play that fit their format. If your song doesn’t fit their format, it doesn’t matter how good the song is, they won’t play it, period.

Music Again and Soaked are songs that the right radio stations won’t play. The purpose of a single release is to get radio airplay. There’s no reason to release a song if the programming directors won’t add it to their play list.

I don’t know for sure, but I would expect that before a major record label releases a single they obtain commitments from the programming directors that they will play the song. I don’t think they blindly release a single hoping that it will get adds. I think they know ahead of time. I hope they release Fever, but Adam has said that some of the programming directors won’t play it because of the pronoun. Some will, but others won’t. Until Sony can get commitments from the major players I expect Fever will never be released as a single.

I’ve actually come around to hoping that Sleepwalker is released as the next single–not IIHY. I expect they want to release a more uptempo song than Sleepwalker, but I think Sleepwalker is likely to be more of a radio hit. Plus, Sleepwalker translates to live performance better than IIHY–IMHO. e.g. Leno show.

I find it all very bizarre myself, but it is what it is.

FWIW: I like Music Again and Soaked very much, but they are never going to be singles.

This is your opinion and you have a right to it but I don’t agree with the part that he is destroying himself. He is not the only voice when it comes to the choice of which song will be a single. He does get a say but not the final say. I think WWFM was a great choice and based on its continued rise and sales I think others would agree. FYE was chosen because of the AMA’s. It is doing very well on the Dance chart and I think it will go to #1. I think you brought up some really good choices as singles. I do believe Sleepwalker will be the next single or possibly the single afterward. (yes I believe he will have at least 4 singles from this album) Soaked though a great song not a great radio song. Music again good song not my favorite I would pick Sure Fire Winners. I think that song defines Adam the best and shows his voice off better then any of the other songs. But I am being told that it is not a Radio friendly song. (I heard that about Bohemian Rhapsody, Breakfast in America, Another Brick in the wall.) anyway Though I do respect your opinion I do not think Adam is destroying his career by having WWFM or FYE as his first two singles. He is not doing too bad sales wize regardless what nay sayers would have you believe. IMHO. I hope his next single is one that you like. I think it will be Sleepwalker

  33. I read somewhere that Tommy stayed behind to work with the new piano player (can’t remember her name) learning all the songs for the next gig…British Columbia casinos I think.

Take this with a grain of salt, but for what it’s worth….in FS we sat next to Doug the stage lighting guy at breakfast, and talked for a few minutes. He volunteered that Tommy and a keyboard person would not be going on these promo tours since they were going to be acoustic spot performances. Monte tweeted something like the entire band performing on SYTYCD was a last minute decision…he even had to borrow an electric guitar to perform with since he only took his acoustic one.

  35. Okay, this is by far my most favorite performance by Adam! Love the look…love the tone…love the emotion! He must be so tired but you surely couldn’t tell! I would love to see him in concert one day!

Thanks 4mula1 – yeah we don’t need to speculate whether Adam was interviewed or not. One felow Australian in PF also said the same thing that Adam was interviewed and they also showed him greeting his fans and signing autographs. I like Kochie… can we have more people like Kochie in here??? :)

  37. Thanks, luval and tls62. That makes sense since I know #justcallmehorse left the band to go back on the road with KORN at the end of March. It makes sense that Tommy would stay behind to work with the new keyboardist since Adam was only planning to do acoustic performances. I was at FS also and everything seemed to be normal with Tommy and the band so it was odd to me that he wasn’t with them.

  38. Yes, clearly it was a mistake to release fye and wwfm as singles what artist would want a top 20 radio hit, a gold record. a top 10 dance chart hit or to top the radio and billboard charts in foreign countries?

  39. Okay, this is by far my most favorite performance by Adam! Love the look…love the tone…love the emotion! He must be so tired but you surely couldn’t tell! I would love to see him in concert one day!

I’m finding it difficult to name an absolute favorite (would it be acoustic WWL? or “Sleepwalker” on Leno? or “A Change is Gonna Come” on Idol? or the acoustic version of “Soaked” on IHeartRadio? — you get the idea!) But I’d certainly put it right up there at the top tied with a whole bunch of others. It’s beautiful. HE’S beautiful singing it!

  40. Oh lord, here comes this Lambert kid again, behaving all inappropriately and with those odd ass outfits. What about the chirren, and the music? He hasn’t done anything appealing at all since idol. All is lost, civilization as we know it will end. How could he? Ooooops, (flips the script)……..

Damn, that was beautiful. Yeah, that’s the ticket~

Yes, clearly it was a mistake to release fye and wwfm as singles what artist would want a top 20 radio hit, a gold record. a top 10 dance chart hit or to top the radio and billboard charts in foreign countries?

Who doesn’t want all the things you mentioned above?? Every artist/singer who wanted to have a spot in Music Industry wants all those things. Top 20 radio hit, a gold record, a top 10 dance hart hit or to top the radio and billboard charts in foregn countries mean people listening and buying their music. Think all those artists that are selling millions copies worldwide.. MJ, Madonna, Christina Aguillera.. Who doesn’t want them all???

  42. I understand you totally…but since you asked! My vote is definately for WLL acoustic. I will never forget that performance and the reaction of the audience during, and after the concert. The lady next to me (who was with her husband) said….”that is the closest I will ever get to having sex with Adam Lambert.” Truer words were never spoken. And I totally have to give her husband props. He replied…”I’m happy for you girls, and I liked it too, but I don’t think I had sex with him.” That got a good laugh from everybody in our area.

  43. 4mula1 thanks for the info about the interview etc

Okay, this is by far my most favorite performance by Adam! Love the look…love the tone…love the emotion! He must be so tired but you surely couldn’t tell! I would love to see him in concert one day!

this is definitely my favourite performance of WWFM .. again he managed to deliver a slightly different version even to the previous acoustic performances we’ve seen.

I loved the whole look (clothes, hair and makeup wise .. loved the creole hoop earing which I don’t think he’s work in performances before .. i know I’m studying him way too deeply .. lol) and I also loved the arrantement and vocal on the song

Adam looked a bit tired and disheveled to me which just lended to the emotion of the lyrics together with a bit more raspiness/huskiness in his voice

  44. Adamme I was being sarcastic! Every artist wants those things-hence no mistake in choosing those songs as singles

Thanks Tiger-the interview must have been on very early then as I started watching at 7.30am. Glad that they did- I was thinking it was strange that they hadn’t as they usually do !!

  46. Luv is going to flip when she sees this!

This is the best WWFM I’ve seen him do. Breathtakingly gorgeous. I can’t pick a favorite performance but I can pick my favorite performances of each song!!

  47. Itok. Could be that don’t follow idol but I find it so strange that people are so quick to call Adam a failure after only haveing an album out for a little over 4 months. And I will admit that I don’t follow charts and what not but to me 1. A few months seems to be a bit premature to make any prediction on a artists career and as a non music/idol geek it looks pretty good to me
    -debut sales 200K (check)
-beating Rhianna/Gaga on release day (both established artists with hit singles (check)
    -a gold album and singlr
-2 singles moving up the charts in the us/canada/japan/singapore + other places (check)
-3 concerts sold out, 1 with no advertizing 2 within mins (check)
-not to mention he hasn’t even started a tour yet
Well to this layman that looks pretty good for an artists first major label debut. I think we should hold off on judgements about whether or not he is a “failure” for at least a year or 2.

  49. According to AO, the pulse boards show the Mediabase updates and it has WWFM at #16 on BOTH POP and HAC. Unexpected jump on HAC from 19 to 16. Seems to be doing well.

  50. Alaadam, that’s based on how often they play the songs on the radio correct?

  51. Wow, gorgeous! Way to go, Adam!

Although he did seem to have a hard time just sitting on that stool. Heh.

LOL abbysee and the script. :-)

  52. I’m curious…. do the people who say Adam’s career is a ‘failure’ also feel Kris’ career is a failure, because Adam has sold twice as many albums as Kris? Adam’s album and single have gone GOLD. Adam has sold out three concert venues, and is starting a international promo tour where Australia has embraced him and every tweet I’ve read and interviewer I’ve heard who has met Adam from there say what a talented and nice person he is. I’m not computing this ‘failure’ thing at all!

  53. Alaadam, that’s based on how often they play the songs on the radio correct?

    Yes.

  54. That picture WITH the caption is the funniest thing I have ever seen. At least the dude tried but doesn’t he know Adam likes Androgy Elves??

  55. Is that the DJ that said he was married, and a dad, but would totally switch for Adam? If it is, he was asking listeners before he met Adam if he should ask him out. Too funny……

I noticed the same thing about his skin and was about to post that. Or, may be his skin is really getting beautiful after many spa treatments.

  61. Teri63:, CIGC is MY FAVORITE SONG of Adam’s on AI :)
the rest of your choices are also to my liking, I would add SYTYCD (USA finale) to the list :)

  62. The version of Voodoo that Adam tweeted Friday/Sat has over 70,000 views! Wow! I will admit 69,999 are my views but still impressive! Peeps really like this song.

  64. tls62…… I so agree with what you said about FS WLL…I was there as well and the lady in front of us turned to her husband and said “someone is going to get lucky tonight”.
That performance was all hot and bothered.

  65. Ok- this was BEAUTIFUL!

And I’m not a huge WWFM fan- but he just gets better(er) and better(er) with it every time.

Wow- dare I say best version yet?
And he himself is also so beautiful, too.

Too bad the man “can’t sing”, though…

  66. Too bad the man “can’t sing”, though…

Yeah I find it a shame as well:P

  67. Count me as multiple views of voodoo!

On a shallow note, I love the open collar shirt!!!

I can’t wait for unplugged. Broken Open will be amazing I think!!!

  68. On a shallow note, I love the open collar shirt!!!

haha funny I was thinking the same thing. Now if only we could get him to go shirtless during one of these:) hehehe

  69. This WWFM was one of the best I have seen. I love Adam for being able to deliver completely different performances in two days. But I feel sorry for Australian fans. No Tommy? I would be pushing Adam as a band and put Tommy in every promo. He is drop dead gorgeous, on top of fantastic guitar player. Feeling shallow, but I can’t help it.

  70. o and btw, “whataya want from me” is #3 on canada’s billboard hot 100…hes going to get #1 i know it!!!

  71. o yeah and i forgot…

ADAM LAMBERT’s “For Your Entertainment” continues to climb on Hot Dance Club Play chart, moving 6-5 next week.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  72. Byroncooke Ill post links to my interview with @adamlambert asap…I’ll also tweet pics from his industry showcase performance tonight in Sydney 2 minutes ago via Twitterrific

    Wonder what this was?

  73. When Adam goes on Idol, I either want him to do a totally ridiculously over-the-top performance with dancers, etc. or else do something really simple and acoustic like this. He completely nails these acoustic performances.

  74. I just want to say I really love and appreciate Adam Lambert for the way he sings, the way he dresses and the way he always entertains. Glamman is what music is all about to me. It is about the extreme and subtle. It is about making me feel alive and happy or reflective and sorrow. It makes me feel Sexy and free or benign and anxious. I like my music to be as Multi-layered and Multi-faceted as I am. That is what Adam’s voice and music is for me. That is why I appreciate and love his music and voice.

    YES!!!

    Who is DOUGASAURIS?

He is the sound guy for the band.

  77. riaspark17: THIS, I don’t really care what he does, as long as he sings his face off, which he does everytime, anyway (well except AMA). It seems to me that the song he will sing will be his next single.

  78. When I saw the Mardi Grass video I felt like ” humm I wanna have sex…” (with him haha :)), whenever I hear him singing Music Again, it just puts a smile in my face and then I wachted this video and I just got sad, emotional…
What an amazing entertainer he is… being able to make me feel all this feelings. Can´t wait to go to a live show and go though this emotional journey, feel all at once.
Not sure if I´m going to be alive by the end hahaha.
    Stunnig performance!!

  79. renataamelo- ITA with everything you wrote!

Adam Lambert is multiple attack on all senses, urges and emotions…

  80. Who is DOUGASAURIS?

He is the sound guy for the band.

    thanks smeggingnuts!

  81. Just to be clear, I definitly loved this version of wwfm.
    So beautiful and simple.
Adam looks soooooo tired and I think he was fighting with his eye
lids (gives him those bedroom eyes) Oh my! LA,LA,LA!!!

I think BB had done some yellin and screamin last night and this am
at Mardis gras (sp?. I think he strained his voice, and had no choice, but to reign it in. Thus he kept it simple, with no reach for those power notes.

This, I think, is what makes him so amazing!!
He just knows how to use that instrument, on any occasion, even after the wild romp last night. Yay, Mardi Gras Pride!!!!

  82. Great version of WDYWFM..

Thanks lorismile for the radio interview link, it was a fun interview with Adam.

I think Adam sounds like he has a cold. His voice is very nasally at times in the clip and the interview.

  83. Thank you for all the links, lorismile. These were fun to wake up to!

  84. In a day’s span we get wild (Mardi gras), stripped bare emotionally (Sunrise) and now funky (showcase) Adam. This is why I love his guy.

Seriously! At first I wasn’t crazy about the souped up Mad World, but, like a lot of Adam’s stuff, it grew on me with another listen. His hand gestures are a little distracting. He must have had a hard time sitting still after all the fun he’s been having! LOL!

  86. Dang it…didn’t get up early enough to listen to souped up Mad World or the radio interview, so I’ll have to wait until I get to work. Do you guys ever sleep???? LOL

  87. Here’s a radio interview with Adam from Australia:

Great, funny interview. Thanks for posting. Love how Adam was funny and relaxed and made serious points at the same time, all in under 5 minutes. Like the radio guys, too…more likable than a lot of U.S. deejays, to me — jokey and sarcastic but not to the point of nastiness or useless stupidity. So far people seem to be really liking Adam in Oz. Hope that translates to the general public.

  88. I absolutely love the new MW and personally I think hand gestures go well with that version. It’s more storyteller than the slow one and I applaud him for changing it up since we’ve all heard the other way so many times. It’s a great song and it’s a cool thing for him to do instead of just leaving it behind altogether. It stays fresh and people listen for the lyrics again because it’s all different. He continues to amaze with his creativity.

  89. From FYE at MG to WWFM & MW…..who else can do that?? Names anyone?

    Nope, I got nothin’ .. ;)

   ……me either!!!

ooops- Wrong information again. :) Adam was asleep in bed during the wild Mardi Gras night. He tweeted early that morning that he was “up early” and getting ready for his 7:30 am performance. So he wasn’t out amoung the partiers “yellin and screamin” the night before.

Adam’s song was the closing performance of the Mardi Gras festivities.
As I understand from reports from other Australians, people go home or go get breakfast after the last performance. I don’t think Adam bolted out into the bright morning light and ran around “yellin and screamin”. LOL!

I think this WWFM was perfect for a morning show…acoustic and moody. Just beautiful! He is always changing something up! I agree with you- HE IS AMAZING! It’s good to see that Adam’s time down under has made you a fan! Jump on board- it’s a wild ride!

  92. This was my least favorite performance of WWFM acoustic. He looked sleepy. It was weird. And he avoided the high notes and falsettos, that usually are my favorite part of the performance. Loved the earing, though. And the clean look was beautiful. And Adam, even when not at his best, is still FANTASTIC.

  93. Two stunning performances, I really like both of these. So talented….
