Adam Lambert ‘Time For Miracles’ Video Preview From ET

Here’s a little preview of the Adam Lambert “Time for Miracles” video, premiering at midnight tonight on Myspace Music.

Watch Cooper, Osnes & Munoz Sin...
Watch Cooper, Osnes & Munoz Sing Irving Berlin!

Released digitally last night, “Time for Miracles” climbed the charts all day and is currently sitting at #11 on iTunes and #1 on Amazon. Once the video is released tonight, I expect the song will climb even higher on iTunes.

Plus, according to the My Space press release, “Time for Miracles” will appear on Adam’s debut album, For Your Entertainment, set to be released November 24 as well as the 2012 soundtrack, available on November 10…

I didn’t see that one coming. No, I really didn’t.   I expected “Time for Miracles” to be kept separate from the album.   With all the dancey-electronic stuff Adam has been promising (Lady Gaga anyone?) For Your Entertainment is shaping up to be a very eclectic album indeed

  1. It appearing on his album is an interesting change. Wish we could hear why they decided to do this.

  2. It appearing on his album is an interesting change. Wish we could hear why they decided to do this.

Probably because its a good song, and for the most part its getting good reviews. Plus, it shows a different side of Adam, and as he said he wants to sing different types of songs. There will be something for everyone on this album.

My main question is then, is this Adam’s first single or will there be another song coming out?

  3. He looks really good in this video. Especially when he’s just staring at the camera. I LOVE the hair!!

  4. He looks amazing. Seriously. Imagine how good it’s gonna look all blown up on the movie screen before This Is It.

My main question is then, is this Adam’s first single or will there be another song coming out?

No, I don’t think so, unless there’s been a major change of plans since Adam did all the AMA press last week. He’s giving us his ~glammy single at the awards!

  5. also love the hair!!!
    he looks really hot!!!

    really happy 4 adam

  6. My main question is then, is this Adam’s first single or will there be another song coming out?

YES! I’ve been looking forward to a dancy electronic single and am concerned that this might mean we won’t get it.

  7. First off, he looks incredibly hot in this clip.

So, how are they going to work two singles at essentially the same time? Especially if TFM really takes off. Now there is the video which will be getting a significant amount of airtime, I would guess, in the next month or so. I guess if TFM doesn’t do much on the chart/radio it won’t be an issue. At any rate, with the buzz this is getting I can’t see his single being released for at least a few weeks?

  8. I didn’t think it was possible for Adam to get more handsome on us! :-) Seriously…. thud!

And we thought watching the song climb the charts was fun… this should be amazing. (Assuming it will be released on iTunes.)

    OH MY RA!!!

  9. is tfm going for radio adds? if it is, i’d be inclined to think of it as the ”first single”… if not, then it may be open for debate….

  10. Isn’t that so cool that they only refer to him as “Adam Lambert” without associating him with American Idol?

    Oh wait…..

    (lol…I couldn’t help myself)

hmm. why are they debuting a video on MySpace?

  11. In the last interview with Adam he said it wasn’t going to be on his album and then backtracked and said maybe as a bonus track. So who knows?

  12. Adam is not only #11 on the overall iTunes chart, but he is also currently sitting at #9 with Time for Miracles on the iTunes Pop Chart — MJ please publicize this!!! Kris Allen’s LLWD never even cracked the top 20 on iTunes — on any chart!!! And this is only DAY ONE for TfM!!! WAY TO GO ADAM!!

  13. He just looks so hot, when his dirty. And I love the hair in his eyes like that. Just so much wow in that picture.

  14. just want to say, how wonderful this site is….this is definitely the greatest site on the internet!!!! thank you soo much for all the hard work!!!

  15. It appearing on his album is an interesting change.

What I find more disturbing is them calling it his second single on the iTunes add I saw. I hope to goodness that doesn’t mean they are stuffing “No Boundaries” on his album.

  16. hmm. why are they debuting a video on MySpace?

Seems counterintuitive, but I think they know they’ll get more mileage (viewers, buzz, etc.) releasing on My Space, than on MTV or VH1. I mean, how would you know when to watch it between all those ridiculous shows.

  17. is tfm going for radio adds? if it is, i’d be inclined to think of it as the ‘ first single’ ’ ¦ if not, then it may be open for debate’ ¦.

No, there’s no radio adds date right now.

This isn’t Adam’s single. If it was, the cover art wouldn’t have 2012 on it in huge-ass letters. That’s selling the movie, not Adam.

  18. Um, MJ? Can I just thank you for that top pic you put on this thread?

Isn’t that so cool that they only refer to him as ‘Adam Lambert’ without associating him with American Idol?

    Oh wait’ ¦..

    (lol’ ¦I couldn’t help myself)

I think it’s cool that he got two straight days of stories and video on Entertainment Tonight!!! I love cool things!

  20. I too think its interesting that hes now decided, or they or whoever to put this on his album…maybe for that deluxe version they promised on his website…I cant wait to hear his first single though!!
I want the glam Adam now LOL!

  21. Ah!! When I heard he was going to make a vide for this song I imagined him in a “Mad World” type of trench coat (like in the finale)

    I WAS RIGHT!

I can see the future =)

  22. Wow, Adam looks amazing in this video … reminds me of his early days on Idol.

Favorite line about his fans and their support: “I thought that I’d be a little too out there for them. And luckily things worked out really well.” Understatement much, Adam? LOL.

I’m SO happy for his success right now! Really excited!!

  23. I have downloaded Time for Miracles from iTunes no less than about 25 times – just to support Adam’s first post-AI project!!! Talk about a chart-climber!!!! Just imagine what his first single will do! Adam has made it clear this (TfM) is a totally separate project than his album and that this is NOT the first single from his album. That song (first single from album) has not been determined yet. He will sing/perform whatever that song is determined to be at the AMAs next month. Anyhow – everybody go download Time for Miracles from iTunes now — you can do it more than once just to support Adam. LOL. Yes, I’m insane!!

  24. He just looks so hot, when his dirty. And I love the hair in his eyes like that. Just so much wow in that picture.

    100 percent agreement. Stunning.

  25. I think it’s cool that he got two straight days of stories and video on Entertainment Tonight!!! I love cool things!

    Me too.. YAYYYY..

  26. Am I the only one who doesn’t like his hair parted like that? Other than that he looks amazing!!!!

It appearing on his album is an interesting change.

What I find more disturbing is them calling it his second single on the iTunes add I saw. I hope to goodness that doesn’t mean they are stuffing ‘No Boundaries’ on his album.

LOL..if the person whose job it was to sell that song couldn’t sell it and isn’t including it on his album, as far as we know, why would Adam??

  28. Hypnotic- you mean when it was parted in the middle for a short bit between breaks or the whole thing? because it looked like when his hair was parted he just didn’t get a touch up between breaks.

And I am so embarrassed that I am noticing this. I can’t help it. Longer hair Adam really, really does it for me :)

  29. Anyhow ‘“ everybody go download Time for Miracles from iTunes now ‘” you can do it more than once just to support Adam.

I personally don’t see much sense in stuffing the ballot box. I only need a single download and I think Adam appreciates that. Besides, I’d rather save my money and go see him in concert…that is how an entertainer really makes money.

  30. I hope to goodness that doesn’t mean they are stuffing ‘No Boundaries’ on his album.

Have they finished stuffing it in Kris’s? When they do, then maybe…….

  31. Adam is not only #11 on the overall iTunes chart, but he is also currently sitting at #9 with Time for Miracles on the iTunes Pop Chart ‘” MJ please publicize this!!! Kris Allen’s LLWD never even cracked the top 20 on iTunes ‘” on any chart!!! And this is only DAY ONE for TfM!!! WAY TO GO ADAM!!

LLWD got up to 15 on the pop charts and remember it was released at a random time on Friday. If it had been released on a Tuesday the numbers would have been higher as we saw the numbers shoot up when it got the iTunes add on that next Tuesday.

  32. hmm. why are they debuting a video on MySpace?

Possibly a Murdoch deal. Either some trade-off, they’re getting something for it. Or some Fox tie-in gotta do it. MySpace repositioned by “going back to its music roots”. Because MySpace was losing users fast. Kiddie image. (Facebook losing users too. For decades to come there will be ever shifting hots and drops in the “connectivity” realm.)

And, TFM on FYE still makes no sense. Sony cutting into their own sales. Why buy the 2012 soundtrack if you got TFM on FYE? On the other hand, everyone who’s already downloaded TFM is not going to be buying the 2012 soundtrack for it anyway. So maybe they think save a good song for next time? There must be some monetary reason that benefits Sony that we don’t know.

Or they think 2012 going to DVD really quickly. And people will want TFM after they see the “Making of” special feature. And that’ll boost FYE sales.

Me too Studio57, kinda hard to get a touch up when you are being interviewed between scenes. He looks so effin great in the video and that scene that was captured at the top of the thread – wowza he is hawt!

  34. everybody go download Time for Miracles from iTunes now ‘” you can do it more than once just to support Adam. LOL. Yes, I’m insane!!

Only once is required for me, and I think it will sell okay.

Even he sells many many units , they’re be the regular old cliche response that its just a small bunch of rabid fans buying the lot(yeah right!), but no need to feed that

  35. ADAM IS TO BEAUTIFUL FOR WORDS. I LOVE THAT CLIP OF THE VIDEO FOR 2012

  36. I personally don’t see much sense in stuffing the ballot box. I only need a single download and I think Adam appreciates that. Besides, I’d rather save my money and go see him in concert’ ¦that is how an entertainer really makes money.

Big pet peeve of mine. I would never do it either.

  37. My main question is then, is this Adam’s first single or will there be another song coming out?

There will be a new single released

LOL..if the person whose job it was to sell that song couldn’t sell it and isn’t including it on his album, as far as we know, why would Adam??

Quite true. Besides, technically TfM IS his second Post-Idol single. People did buy Adam’s version of No Boundaries, both on iTunes and Amazon. Whether or not it sold well (albatross that it is!), it was considered his (and Kris’s) first single.

  39. I’m not going to worry about Adam’s album until it drops. I’m just living on the happy cloud of TfM, today. One single, one video, one day at a time for me.

That ET piece was typical Adam. All fierce and serious in the video, then smiley-face, cutie-pie during the interview.

  40. CAN YOU PICTURE HOW THAT VIDEO IS GOING TO LOOK ON THE BIG SCREEN BEFORE THE MOVIE THIS IS IT. IT IS GOING TO BE UNBELIEVABLE.

  41. Something similar happened back when Terminator2 came out. GnR’s “You Could Be Mine” was the OST and a video was shot with Arnold and the Band. The OST was pushed out a couple months before the Use Your Illusion albums dropped. When it finally hit the shelves, the official single from the album/s was “Don’t Cry,” and YCBM was never released again, but kept in rotation by the radio stations. It turned out to be a great move since it was considered as part of another hit from the album.

Expect another single Glamberts, TFM just adds incremental value and overall appeal to the album’s content, which is the labels intent.

  42. He’s just got it going on! Looks and sounds great! He is so made for all of this! Between all the noise, attention, blogging, etc. this song and video has received, it doesn’t surprise me that the higher ups are putting it on his upcoming cd. It’s a slam dunk. Seems like TFM will be able to be advertised as a #1 hit off Adam’s new album! Can’t beat that! Wishing him more and more success!

  43. And, TFM on FYE still makes no sense.

Yeah, I dont get that at all

I’m not going to worry about Adam’s album until it drops. I’m just living on the happy cloud of TfM, today. One single, one video, one day at a time for me.

Yep for me too, today’s been a good day huh?….I just find it a bit wierd they included it though

  44. I am speechless SO DAMN HOT.ALL IM IM GONNA SAY IS HOLY IOCLCOOLVHHDSJDKVPDKGLG FRUGGIN SHIIIIIT!!!!!!

    (I’m dead)

    crying,flailng,shaking and jumping

    so amazingly gorgeousssssssss

FLOVE ITThats an AMAZINGGGG ADAM LOOK!!! one of my faves

..,and I hvent even seen the video yet;)

  45. I love the styling in the video … the clothes, hair and makeup .. he looks all dishevelled, drity and mean and moody .. kind of like a really fierce, gothic chimney sweep.

I guess when we got those tweets about his facial hair this is what the tweeter meant … so “dots on his face” is the technical make up term for a bit of a five o’clock shadow look.

I may actually stay up till 5 in the morning in order to watch the full video …madness or what?

  46. He’s kind of orange! But very gorgeous.

And about the “second single” label, could they possibly be referring to Want? Or just No Boundaries?

  47. I may actually stay up till 5 in the morning in order to watch the full video ‘ ¦madness or what?

Won’t it be available at midnight?

  48. I might sneak down at 12(probably not) to see the video

moving this frm other thread.GOODNIGHT PEEPS!!!!!! I flooove today!!!!

ummm so this morning I was sleepy as usual.I wouldn’t get out of bed blah blah blah.the alarm clock radio was playing .it was on hot 99.5 which is top 50 .I think this was around 5:45-6? so I’m going to call them dj1 &dj2(I’m only repeating this story because I’m bored)
dj1-blah blah blah food scented shapoo(WTF) ‘ ¦’ ¦ok, so who wants to hear the new Adam lambert song for 2012?!
dj2-(excited) I REALLY REALLY want to.
    dj1:glambert?reaaaaally?
dh2:yeah!!! after idol I got some of his stuff on iTunes (by this time I was smiling really hard, and my face stayed that way the rest of the day.)
so then they played the 25 second clip of tfm .at first it was obvious dj1 wasn’t a fan but 5 seconds through he said ‘ OHMYGOD THIS IS AMMAAAAAZING ‘ true story .

    my
mom was flipping through channels later and she heard them talk about how tfm is b4 tii

one step closer to world domination’ ¦’ ¦.and on that note goodnight:)

  49. He’s kind of orange! But very gorgeous.

I think he’s supposed to be dirty and all sooty from the fires and riots and stuff. Yeah, weird.

And yep, still not digging his hair through a lot of it and really not digging the crappy CGI. Oy. So cheesy.

  50. HOLY HELL.

That top screen cap! Are you trying to give me a heart attack here?!

Are they going to offer the video on iTunes??

  51. It’s on my space right now someone on twitter posted a link.

  52. I personally don’t see much sense in stuffing the ballot box. I only need a single download and I think Adam appreciates that. Besides, I’d rather save my money and go see him in concert’ ¦that is how an entertainer really makes money.

Yep, only one download for me. You guys are not playing the game right though. We were all supposed to say we downloaded one for the troops, one for grandma, one for this sad lady across the street who doesn’t have an ipod or computer, but she will come a visit/listen to her digital copy on alternate weekdays. Then it could be reported that Adam’s sales are padded like back in the days when claymates did this as some sort of parlor game!

  53. Wow are people really buying multiple copies? I have my one and thats quite enough money from me thankyouverymuch. I have to save my gift certificate money for his whole album plusss kris’s and allison’s. Damn I wish I was old enough to have a job :(

    Hahahhahahaha!

  55. Just bought my copy (had to wait until I got home AND did my workout, otherwise workout never would have…got…did…whatever). I gotta tell you, between the fact they’ve done the video, AND it’s going to be on the album…I think we don’t have to wait for “Adam’s first single” anymore! I think this IS his first single!

In which case, I BETTER get the “Complete My Album” option on iTunes when the album comes out!

  56. On ontd-ai they said the formal music video is already out. Can anyone put it on YouTube?

  57. The video so so awesome is anyone watching this. Adam is the bomb in the video so wow and so hot.

  58. And yep, still not digging his hair through a lot of it and really not digging the crappy CGI. Oy. So cheesy.

It’s a really cheesy song… for a cheesy movie… I think the cheesiness of the video fits. As for CGI, I can’t judge what’s good and what’s bad. I’m not very discerning when it comes to that stuff, so I’ll take your word that it’s bad.

  59. Lookin’ good, BB!!!!! I’ll admit I won’t be staying up until midnight (I’m such a slacker), but I’m really, really looking forward to seeing this in its entirety tomorrow.

He really is the whole package: ridiculous voice, ridiculously beautiful. Unreal.

    October 20, 2009 at 9:16 pm

Smart girl…you only need one copy. There are always a few over-invested fans that think that buying extra copies will help Adam get to number 1. And, I think (and you probably do to) that if he is going to get there he would probably prefer it the old fashioned way…1 purchase at a time. And we all know #1 is nice, but just doing a good job and singing the best he can and having the fans appreciate it is really all that counts.

  61. I just checked myspace and didn’t see it. Isn’t that where it would be?

  62. I just saw it on YouTube .SO HAWT!!!!! I can die happy.

    goodnight I promise this time

  63. OK, I am liking the messed up Adam look in this video a lot! Yay, for being on the West Coast during Adam Storm, or as my friend said, “Hurricane Adam (category 5!”)

  64. Gifting a friend that liked Adam on the show but has actually moved on with their lives and isn’t aware of time for miracles = Cool. Buying extra copies to “stuff the ballot box” = Ridiculous. That’s the kind of thing Claymates were famous for and it only does a disservice to Adam in the long run. I can’t imagine that more than handful of cray-cray fans are participating in that kind of silliness.

  65. just want to say, how wonderful this site is’ ¦.this is definitely the greatest site on the internet!!!! thank you soo much for all the hard work!!!
    …………………………………………………..

    De-lurking to come and comment!
Ditto, I was thinking the same thing today. My husband was just mentioning, how much joy he sees in me, because of this wonderful site. It is like the best medicine(drug), I take. It is like a part time job, isn’t it?
It’s nice & tidy here, especially when MJ cleans house, when words get heated.
A million THANKS to MJ, for her diligent hard work & efforts. It is more than a full time job!

  66. mj,u wrote that it’s available on nov 24.it’s nov 23.

thanks for getting the thread up fast btw

  67. it’s on myspace now. he looks amazing, dodging rioters and meteors while belting out the song. love him.

  68. I just saw it on YouTube .SO HAWT!!!!! I can die happy.

    Where’s the link?

  69. haha Tess thanks. I also think Adam would prefer to have a lot of ppl buy it once than a couple ppl buy a lot because that means his music has reached more people. soooo instead i will tell all of my friends about so they can buy it haha.

  70. Omfg, I love his face on the “that’s a wrap” part at the end. And during the rest of it…but particularly during that part.

  71. Good look. Still don’t dig the song, and from that clip, he over acts at points. But that may work better in the whole context. But I like his look a lot – a bit of edge, but with the makeup not quite so fey. A good basic look from which he can stray into weirder things when so inclined.

  72. Okay, so his hair looks better in the whole video and the cheesy CGIs are supposed to be that way.

Actually he does look pretty hot in the video.

Video’s kind of eh, but it’s a movie tie-in for a cheesy movie, didn’t expect anything less.

Actually less cheesy and awful than I expected, so yay! And did I mention that Adam actually looks pretty good throughout? because he seriously does. Even that bad middle part hair didn’t bug me as much. And no orange either.

  73. I just saw it. I like it! The make up is still messed up though. Oh, and they cut out 33 seconds of the song… I can’t pinpoint which parts. Still. Adam looks hot, and the drama is so satisfying. My favorite parts are the beginning and the end, and the parts where Adam is being jostled by people on the street.

ETA: And omg… no moostach. No little dots of hair either… yesss

  74. What I find more disturbing is them calling it his second single on the iTunes add I saw. I hope to goodness that doesn’t mean they are stuffing ‘No Boundaries’ on his album.

Technically, “No Boundaries” is considered both Adam and Kris’ debut single. Did Kris’ iTunes add describe LLWD as his 2nd single, too?

ETA: Or did Kris even get an add? lol

  75. Won’t it be available at midnight?

    I’m in the UK .. we’re 5 hours behind EST .. it’s 2:30am here at the moment

    karenw’ ¦

Has I tunes busted free in the UK yet?

Unfortunately not yet Tess … we’re so bloody backward at times …lol

oooo so the vid’s on myspace now? .. must join the stampede over there

  76. yay I haven’t stayed up since the tour cell casts but imma have to stay up tonight. can’t miss seeing that video as soon as it drops on my space.

  77. It kind of pains me to note that Adam would want to put this song to his album (or does he?), even if it is going to be a success (not, mind you, that much that he put out wouldn’t be at this point in time). While I was fine with it as a song for a movie soundtrack, I was hoping it would stay there, because it’s really just dreck, despite his performance of it. As a single, my feelings end up changing a whole lot. I’m not sure what to think if adding a truly god-awful movie ballad counts as genuine eclecticism; if I were being neutral to Adam, I’d say that it showed a lack of musical identity. I’m willing to give him more credit than that, though, and just bemoan its presence for what I have to assume are basically commercial reasons.

I’m kind of a fan myself (or at least not a hater), and I’m waiting with anticipation for the next single, but… really? I don’t know. On the other hand, I will say he looks good, and the acting seemed pretty good to me.

  78. Omg. Just saw the whole video. Adam looks HOT. Also noticed that they cut some of the end out and video only 4:10 instead of 4:40 like the record. Yay adam!!!!!

  79. I just saw it. I like it! The make up is still messed up though. Oh, and they cut out 33 seconds of the song’ ¦ I can’t pinpoint which parts. Still. Adam looks hot, and the drama is so satisfying.

ETA: And omg’ ¦ no moostach. No little dots of hair either’ ¦ yesss

Probably cut it from the beginning, which needed it. Flabby and too long beginning that it was. The song could do with about another 30 second tightening, but alas, I remain not in charge of the universe, or at the very least, all things Adam. So disappointing.

  80. Where are people seeing the full version of Adam’s TFM? I can’t find it please post someone. The links posted are not working

  81. Have they finished stuffing it in Kris’s? When they do, then maybe’ ¦’ ¦.

I don’t know. Maybe. Maybe they are talking about “Mad World”. I just thought the second single mention was odd.

  82. mmmmmmm…..sexy, dirty Adam. He looks fabulous and sounds even better. I’ll only buy one copy of everything. I do not believe in padding the numbers and I can’t afford it. I don’t know who can really.

  83. Wow.. I’m loving this man o’ mine as the old song says…probably too old for most of you, but god is he hot. He in character for the video and he is orange from heavy makeup, his hair doesn’t look perfect in some of the shots and we are getting the back story on the makinh of the video…it goes with the territory and I love the perspective. He is so open in those moments, completely unguarded, imperfect, and in the moment….love him. Agree, that is so amazing to watch him sing. He is going to make great videos. With his prior performance experience, and good direction, he could very easily do well in movies too. First oscar nom will be for Tfm, we will see whats next.

  84. the video is a tad cheesy, but MY GOD that boy was MADE to do music videos. amazing!

  85. I saw the clip’ ¦.

I thought you were saying you saw the full music video.

  86. While I was fine with it as a song for a movie soundtrack, I was hoping it would stay there, because it’s really just dreck, despite his performance of it.

Well considering what lengths Adam took before to distance it from his album and “real,” music, I do think that there is a bit of Sony synergy happening here and yeah, desipte how many people like to think that Adam is saying he’s in charge, he’s not. Sony and through it, RCA and separate from them, 19Evil, are.

I just hope that if, goddess forfend this song ends up on his album, that it’s a bonus track. I’m fine with it as a bonus track. And nothing more.

the video is a tad cheesy, but MY GOD that boy was MADE to do music videos. amazing!

yeah, kinda. But to be expected for that piece of schlock movie.

  87. The song could do with about another 30 second tightening,

    Totally agree.

  88. Just watched the whole video. Great! He’ looks like a cross between Tom Cruise and the big evil brother of the Jonas. I’m so happy for him.

  89. I don’t like what I see in the preview. His acting is OTT. Yeah, the world is coming to an end, but instead of feeling anguish I sense that he is constipated.

  90. Well, I can’t get in. Did we crash the myspace site?? too many hits maybe?

  91. Thanks BeckyMD

I still can’t find it though. I’ve searched on “Adam Lambert”, “Time for Miracles” and “2012”. Same thing on YouTube… nada.

    HELP!!!

  92. Nope, it is gone already. trouble for putting it up early maybe. Will keep trying…. :(

  93. OMFG I just saw the video( actually i keep pausing it because I cant watch it all at once or I will die…) It is so perfect i cant even describe how I feel! Can’t wait until I can buy my (one) copy of it from itunes. O yeah and he looks freakin hawt. K will shut up nowww

  94. I don’t know. Maybe. Maybe they are talking about ‘Mad World’ . I just thought the second single mention was odd.

Maybe they refer to NoBo as his first? His version was released too, right?

  95. couldn’t bring the link over……go in through idolforums – second item in the adam tab

  96. I don’t know. Maybe. Maybe they are talking about ‘Mad World’ . I just thought the second single mention was odd.

I did too, I thought they meant Adam’s first real single off his album and that was supposed to be his second one, but circumstances pushed it before the other one. Just me then?

  97. Just watched the video. He is incredibly gifted and bonus…gorgeous. Unbeleivable talent, absolutely incredible.

  98. my myspace says it’s been removed but someon already has it on youtube

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzYjEVkKTBs

he’s so pretty .. love how they’ve hit him with the soot bag to make him look all dusty and grubby

Why are all those people running past him though, bashing into him without even looking .. don’t they know who he is.

If I was running from a disaster and saw him I’d stop and say “OMG …. are you Adam Lambert?”

  99. That video clip was fantastic. Adam is gorgeous!!! I hope the naysayers may finally realize that the term “theatrical” can be a positive thing. Adam is perfection in this video!!! (At least in the part that I saw). :)

  100. o great I don’t have to stay up till midnight. awesome video.

  101. I loved it!! I can’t wait to see it in surround sound on the big screen!! Again, all of Adam’s dreams coming true..it’s amazing. He looks gorgeous and the edit of the song works great! Love him so much!

  102. the video is incredible! adam looks like a SUPERSTAR!
    ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
    OMFG

  103. Thought they cut the beginning, but was wrong!

WOW. WOW. And for lack of a better word…WOW!

Anyone notice his hair part changes? I can’t believe how many times I have watched this already.

  104. I don’t like what I see in the preview. His acting is OTT. Yeah, the world is coming to an end, but instead of feeling anguish I sense that he is constipated.

LOL thanks for that image in my head…..

  105. … also happy for adam & his family must be really really proud!!!

  106. I think the studio footage from last weeks clip would’ve been the one I would do for the whole song. This one is a little too 80s.

  107. Karen W-he’s so pretty .. love how they’ve hit him with the soot bag to make him look all dusty and grubby

Why are all those people running past him though, bashing into him without even looking .. don’t they know who he is.

If I was running from a disaster and saw him I’d stop and say ‘OMG ‘ ¦. are you Adam Lambert?’

LOL…you made me laugh and laugh and laugh.

  108. lol….what’s the obsession with rooftop scenery openings when it comes to soundtracks? Kelly’s “Trouble With Love” opened the very same way.

  109. I just hope that if, goddess forfend this song ends up on his album, that it’s a bonus track

Is this a new trend? The last Joe Cocker CD had his track of Come Together from Across the Universe. It seemed strange, but I didn’t mind because I love that cover – it was a highlight of the film.

In this case, it’s probably just that the song is doing well, so Sony is slapping it on. I blame that on (1) the fact that a lot of people are waiting for the first thing out from him, and (2) the “I don’t care what the music is as long as he’s singing it” type of buyer. Together, he’s almost guaranteed to get saddled with some inferior music. The artistic equivalent of having too few natural preditors.

Adam keeps talking like he’s not a puppet on this and he needs to drop that.

  110. It’s back up on myspace.

The more I watch this video, the more I like it. I think I may love it soon…

Adam keeps talking like he’s not a puppet on this and he needs to drop that.

And start doing what, talking like he IS a puppet?

  111. He just looks so hot, when his dirty. And I love the hair in his eyes like that. Just so much wow in that picture.
    100 percent agreement. Stunning.

Oh my!!! Someone is looking extra hot in that photo and video!!!He sure cleans up well, but boy, he gets dirty so well too…whew!!

  112. i think his acting was the appropriate level given the lyrics and the context of the song.

im glad they cut out 30 seconds of it… that will save me about 10 minutes after i watch it at least 20 more times. ;)

ETA: Tony – it’s the end of the world… he had to get on the roof to seek proof! DUH.

  113. Do think itunes will have a radio edit?

ETA: Adam did his first video YAY!!!!

    we need party smileys.

  114. So, I had to stop watching. They can’t play that video with the MJ flix in NYC. Actually, not anywhere in NYC. They really can’t. It looks way too much like the actually smokey streets and panicked people on a day no New Yorker will ever forget. (I have friends who still can’t go downtown comfortably.) There is even a plane flying into a building. And a collapsing steel and glass tower that looks way too much like the X cross beams of one that really did.

Not being over reactive or debbie downer. But there was nothing Mayan or interesting about that video for the movie. It looked, IMO, too much like real footage from way too many real disasters. That lost loved ones in a disaster theme, with all those scared and injured people is way too real. Why would that make people want to go to a movie?

And there’s Adam with teen idol hair in the middle of it. And, yes, he certainly can sing. And even with teeny bop hair and soot looks great on camera.

But other than him, the subject matter is not appealing.

  115. m glad they cut out 30 seconds of it’ ¦ that will save me about 10 minutes after i watch it at least 20 more times. ;)

LOL….. if you are like me this will allow you to listen to it two more times. ;-)

  116. Yay! I love the way he looks in this. Even better, they edited out the worst of his facial contortions but left in his general OTT expressiveness that defines him. So A+ on how they presented Adam.

Video as a whole leaves me kind of meh. It’s a good vehicle for advertising the movie. But there isn’t anything compelling about it that makes me want to watch it over and over again. Which translates to me likely not buying it. The only reason to buy would be to see Adam and there isn’t enough Adam in this make buying worthwhile. I think I’ll be happy just listening to the song.

That is a big surprise to me because I figured that if I didn’t hate it, I’d be all over it to see more of Adam. Hmmm. I think it may be because his personality doesn’t come through in this video like it did in his AI performances. In this he’s fitting into a predefined box for the movie rather having the box be shaped by him. Nods. Yep. I think that’s it.

  117. LOL I ilu Adam but you DO overact a bit!
Why does this make him so endearing to me? idgi

  118. Just watched the whole thing. Adam looks good, but I think he over did the dramatics just a tad bit.

I so disagree with this. It fits perfectly with the dramatic action going on around him. This is where his theatrical experience is paying off for him. Adam is so ruggedly handsome here. Love it!!

  119. Oh my!!! Someone is looking extra hot in that photo and video!!!He sure cleans up well, but boy, he gets dirty so well too’ ¦whew!!

    Whew, indeed!!!! :)

  120. Not being over reactive or debbie downer. But there was nothing Mayan or interesting about that video for the movie. It looked, IMO, too much like real footage from way too many real disasters.

So… is the CGI not that bad after all then? ^.^

ETA: I totally understand where you’re coming from though. But wouldn’t that mean they couldn’t play 2012, or any other disaster film, in NYC either?

  121. Good point FHS – this may be hard for some people to watch.

I was so focused on Adam I didn’t notice the other stuff until you pointed it out.

  122. Adam keeps talking like he’s not a puppet on this and he needs to drop that.

What is he going to say? ‘uh yeah, my label is part of a multi-national corporation that got me a song as part of a huge movie and now after that, and paying for the video and everything, they actually expect it as part my album…I told them to get bent of course.’ Yeah, that’d work out really well.

Heck, Adam might not even feel that putting this song on his record is such a bad thing…now. After it’s been explained to him, and I mean that even in a non-“offer you can’t resist,” kind of way. But of ‘hey, why not appeal to all your fans, you should have it as a bonus track of yours.’ And he might agree that it makes sense to do it as such. I disagree, but that might be a legitimate argument to make.

But in any event, Adam isn’t going to start trash talking his label before he’s even finished recording his album and before his first single is out.

  123. I am online ALL day, and they release it on my way home? How dare they?! ;) Off to watch it now, objectively, of course…

  124. OMFG I am speechless. It was too wonderful. Now I NEED the hard copy to play in tv!!!!!

  125. I don’t know about TFM being on the For Your Entertainment album. I know it was in a press release from MySpace, but I think it could be a mistake. It has certainly happened before and there has been some confuse with media outlets too.

Adam seems to have reiterated more than once that TFM is NOT on his debut album, but on the 2012 soundtrack. Of course, that might be beyond his control. To me, it would be worth a bit of a hissy fit. serious stand. TFM is gorgeous and I love it, but will it really fit with dancey/pop/synthy fusion thing that is FYE?

Not overly concerned of course, it is just music after all. Music to my ears!

  126. Why is it a bad thing if TfM is a bonus track – don’t sweat the small stuff is my philosophy.

  127. Why would that make people want to go to a movie?

Because it’s a disaster film! People are going to see shit blow up real good. And yes, for masses amounts of people to die in various kinds of disasters, some man made, but mostly natural ones which no one can stop, only escape from. Oh and ultimately some people survive and hope is born again.

So not saying I’m being insenstive to the plight of people in NY, but that’s what disaster films DO. Show lots of cities being destroyed up and lots of people in them running around trying to fight it, failing and dying.

  128. So’ ¦ is the CGI not that bad after all then?

No it’s still pedestrian. There is kind of video game feel to it in fact. The plane and tower building look like drawings. Which doesn’t help relieve the NYC similarities.

But the scenes with Adam were filmed with real people. And he’s walking on sidewalks in smokey streets, while people limp by carrying each other exactly the way they did in NYC, and other places where disaster has stricken. That looked all too real. People worried and scurrying. And looking for lost loved ones.

  129. Am happy now and can go to bed at 3am!

Have downloaded video and it’s sitting comfortably in my ITunes waiting to be viewed several hundred times until official download available!

All I can say is Yum!!

  130. Why would that make people want to go to a movie?

Because it’s not real. It’s totally fake. And the special effects are crazy. And Adam is going to sing!

  131. Okay, back.

    LOVE
    IT
    LOVE
    IT
    LOVE
    IT

Adam. Emo!Adam. You rock my little world.

    *flailing*
    *squeeing*
    *flailing and squeeing*

  132. FHS the movie is about the world coming to an end so the video fits, but I agree it may be upsetting to some not knowing what to expect. But they take the same risk with the movie trailer without the video.

People worried and scurrying. And looking for lost loved ones.

What were you expecting from a disaster movie?? I mean, really, I’m curious. The roadblock, the previews, the trailers, the entertainment news show have all shown that the movie has explosions and buildings being destroyed… what were you expecting from the music video?

  134. Cheesy even for a disaster movie. And the director should have worked on his overacting.

  135. Adam sure knows how to work those laser beam eyes.

Um, ya! :) I love it!

  136. Wow, just wow! Mussed up Adam can sing to me like that any time! Give me messed up hair and dirt on his face over hair gel and glitter any day…….swoon!

As for it being on his CD, I’m sure he is being paid very well for it.

  137. I think people were expecting an inward looking journey of reflective personal discovery from the movie 2012. You know, like most disaster movies!

  138. Let me start this by saying I am a HUGE Adam Lambert fan.

Now let me say that i’m not crazy about the video. Yep, sacrilege, I know. But you have to understand that it isn’t Adam’s performance I don’t like, it is the production values of the video. Cases in point:

    1. At the beginning of the song, Adam’s voice is actually out-of-sync with the video! Yep, I was shocked! How do they let that happen in post-production?

    2. The video jumps around too much with Adam wearing all these different outfits and his hair slightly different. For me, this never allows an emotional response to build. WHY does he keep changing outfits?

    3. Ok, it’s the end of the world right? But in some scenes, Adam is walking along with actors running around bumping into him, but in the background, you see just typical afternoon traffic driving along.

So anyway, for me, video was a disappointment. Horribly edited. Team Adam could learn a thing or two from watching videos like “Black Parade” if they want to create intensity.

Despite my personal misgivings, I’m sure it will be a huge hit and everyone else will love it. Just my two cents.

Cheesy even for a disaster movie. And the director should have worked on his overacting.

Respecting your opinion and all but….. what music video have you seen that doesn’t have the performers overacting?

  140. When can I buy it?!!! I want to buy download it RIGHT NOW SO I MAY WATCH IT SEVERAL HUNDRED TIMES.

    *thud*

ETA: End of world. Drama. Big time drama. You want Adam doing hip thrusts? That will be for his first single for FYE. ;)

  141. And the director should have worked on his overacting.

I agree. I find Adam’s overacting extremely endearing personally, but it could be off putting for some.

  142. FHS the movie is about the world coming to an end so the video fits, but I agree it may be upsetting to some not knowing what to expect. But they take the same risk with the movie trailer without the video.

It’s a risk they take with going to any disater film

I mean this is what they do. See a national monument? destroy it. See lots of cities? destroy them. And this doesn’t just happen, there is lots of people running around before the aliens, core of the earth being demagnatized, global warming effects, asteroids, volcanoes, come along and kills lots of people.

It’s what always happens. Lots of people die from the…disaster(s).

Oh and agreed, a wee bit of overacting there. But I just took it as part of the whole cheesy nature of the song and film. Over The Top for a film about everything being destroyed? It somehow fit. But otherwise? yeah.

  143. I think people were expecting an inward looking journey of reflective personal discovery from the movie 2012. You know, like most disaster movies!

    Yes. lol.

  144. Well, I didn’t say he looked constipated. Sorry but to me it’s cheesy and some of his expressions and gestures are really silly. A good director should have toned it down.

I think people were expecting an inward looking journey of reflective personal discovery from the movie 2012. You know, like most disaster movies!

you cracked me up! lol I loooved the video, Adam looks so gorgeous! like an anime character, just beautiful, and I like the dramatic, it ´s so Adam so as the sexy, good combo!

  146. I don’t understand why this would be on his album either but I guess cheese goes with everything.

The video is pretty cheesy as well but at least it’s good cheese. I enjoyed it for what it was. He looks fantastic and his stage presence translates to the screen. He’s pretty mesmerizing to watch.

  147. I LOVE Adam in this video. Was his singing a little off with the words, they didnt have in quite in sinc I dont think, maybe it was just the video. But I must say his teeth were soooo white, and he doesnt have any silver fillings LOLOL. Why do I notice things like that. And ya I love dirty messy Adam, and his hair awsome!!

  148. Oh, and I’m totally fine with the song being on the album. I’m guessing it will be a bonus track. It’s a totally smart financial move if this song becomes big. The worst that can happen is that it doesn’t work with the overall sound of the album and we have to play it separately. We’ll survive it.

  149. I think people were expecting an inward looking journey of reflective personal discovery from the movie 2012. You know, like most disaster movies!

    ROTLMAO

Seriously, I want this on my computer NOW. How do I do it? Help!

BTW, of course I taped Extra instead of ET. HOWEVER, they repeat ET in Boston (I couldn’t find the channel before), so I still get a chance to see PART of the video on my TV set later for viewing tomorrow. And I did tape Access Hollywood, at least.

    *back to flailing*

  150. And the director should have worked on his overacting.

I didn’t notice that the director was in the film….was he one of the extras….which one?

I enjoyed this for exactly what it was intended to be. A FRIGGIN MUSIC VIDEO. It isn’t a 4 minute Oscar contending performance…it’s a good looking guy with a great voice singing a song of hope in the mist of a fantasy disaster.

    Why is everything so deep…man!

  151. But the scenes with Adam were filmed with real people. And he’s walking on sidewalks in smokey streets, while people limp by carrying each other exactly the way they did in NYC, and other places where disaster has stricken. That looked all too real. People worried and scurrying. And looking for lost loved ones.

Adam Lambert is a performer. He is not a news anchor person or current event correspondent reporting news.

  152. Well, I didn’t say he looked constipated. Sorry but to me it’s cheesy and some of his expressions and gestures are really silly. A good director should have toned it down.

You are right it is all cheesy.. but it is a disaster film. THey are all cheesy, the only one that aren’t are the depressing documentaries on PBS about Global Warming. I think it would have looked strange to have a subdued performance coupled with the fire and brimestone.

  153. I loved it! And he is absolutely gorgeous. I have no problem with the song being on the CD as a bonus track or something.

  154. Really it’s not Mamet, it’s a video for a song from a disaster movie! I mean if you wan’t shakesphere get Branaugh, or even Jude Law, not the guy who came in second from a cheesy reality show!

I enjoyed it. Adam was made for video. He fills up the screen with his brooding good looks and sexy, masculine, charisma. He’s really yummy to look at and in that he succeeds in spaces. Mission accomplished.

  155. I live in NY and not once did I think of that day while watching this video. Not once. I guess because in the context of it being a movie video I knew exactly what to expect.

I agree and I was actually there…Worked a few blocks away…saw the whole thing up close (plans hitting and buildings falling and people freaked out)…and to me this did not remind me in away of it or make me even think of that horrible day until it was brought up here.

  156. Respecting your opinion and all but’ ¦.. what music video have you seen that doesn’t have the performers overacting?

    This!

I honestly think I would have hated the video if Adam was all serene and humble for the song. The video and Adam’s “overacting” makes me love the song all the more. It’s so fitting.

  157. I didn’t notice that the director was in the film’ ¦.was he one of the extras’ ¦.which one?

    Heh!

  158. Love the hair! I’m sure I’m not going to last another hour and a half to watch it tonight, but I look forward to checking back here in the morning :)

  159. I have never heard the word cheese so much in my life, it’s making me lactose intolerant.

  160. I agree and I was actually there’ ¦saw the whole thing up close’ ¦and to me this did not remind me in away of it or make me even think of that horrible day until it was brought up here.

Absolutely agree. I never connected the dots between 9/11 and this movie. Not even close.

  161. TfM on FYE: Well, Adam did say he wanted his album to be multi-genre. (though not sure he was thinking of a TfM type song)

  162. *still flailing*

Dude is HOT. And I mean smoking hot due to the…you know…smoke. Yeah, that’s it.

I will watch this for the rest of the evening. Yes, abbysee. He IS yummy. Delicious like chocolate cookies with milk. The screen and Adam are MADE for each other.

ETA: Steven Fudd is getting thank you’s all over Twitter. Maybe we should trend #stevenfudd. Now all we need is:

    Cover album pic
    First single
    Video for first single
    AMAs
    FYE

This is all we need, but for now, the Adam Storm is humming along quite nicely. :)

  163. Adam has a lot to learn about acting for the camera. You can tell he is from the stage and doesn’t yet undertsand subtlety of movement. His acting is OTT in parts. He is too intense too fast. He needs to let the feeling build.

Again, I hold forth “The Black Parade” as an example of what this video could have been. Then again, this was thrown together in one afternoon and I’m sure “Black Parade” was a major production.

Still, video is good and will likely be a mega monster hit simply because it is Adam. I fear there will be the occasional critic who pans it though for the reasons I’ve stated here.

  164. But the scenes with Adam were filmed with real people. And he’s walking on sidewalks in smokey streets, while people limp by carrying each other exactly the way they did in NYC, and other places where disaster has stricken. That looked all too real. People worried and scurrying. And looking for lost loved ones.

I didn’t see that much tension from those clips, looked pretty staged to me. But if the movie does manage to create the feeling of people running around lost, worried, looking for their loved ones, then they’ve done a better job than I am expecting from this film. Actual emotion and drama from one of these films? That would be new.

  165. I will watch this for the rest of the evening. Yes, abbysee. He IS yummy. Delicious like chocolate cookies with milk. The screen and Adam are MADE for each other.

I think so too. I also think (if Adam wants this) he could star in movies. The camera LOVES him.

  166. I like the video, except for the song. The people bouncng off him looked fake, but that was a bonus.

I get where you’re coming from, FHS, re the WTC references, but I think that’s a problem with this whole movie, not just the video. It’s apparently pretty openly exploitive of that history.

The cheese and emo phantom of the disaster look works for me though, but disaster movies only work for me on a cheese level anyway.

I’m bummed that none of the singles from my 3 faces are any good, but not too surprised. They need a songwriting idol show or a producing idol one – it’s apparently much harder than just singing.

  167. Adam is gorgeous the video is soso – don’t like the edit at the beginning.

Did I mention how tall and slim Adam is?

ETA, love the pant the jacket the boots and the scarf, not digging the coat.

Well, I didn’t say he looked constipated. Sorry but to me it’s cheesy and some of his expressions and gestures are really silly. A good director should have toned it down.

Again respecting your opinion wholeheartedly, buy I refer you 90% of the music videos out there…

  169. I enjoyed it. Adam was made for video. He fills up the screen with his brooding good looks and sexy, masculine, charisma. He’s really yummy to look at and in that he succeeds in spaces. Mission accomplished.

    ….and that says it all!

    LMAO…too funny..
as per the video, I also thought it looked kind of video-game-ish but when I saw the whole thing it didnt..
I thought it was really good except maybe the last part (looked a little overeager but given the circumstances…hey) but he looks really good in the rest of it (no eyeliner, which is nice and yes the hair is a bit weird but I think they just wanted to make him look younger…he’s very multi-faceted so they dont have to try hard :) so it really doesn’t matter…
I enjoyed it…I hope the song gets radio play…he worked hard and deserves it… if we keep thinking positive it will happen

  171. I think it looks fantastic! This will bring Adam a lot of exposure. Remember, although we may not agree with his choices, he is also a businessman. It was wise for him to do this and I think the song might speak to him on a personal level. He still seems in awe that this is happening to him. The song is heavily orchestrated and dramatic, so how else would have him act in the video lol.

  172. I honestly think I would have hated the video if Adam was all serene and humble for the song. The video and Adam’s ‘overacting’ makes me love the song all the more. It’s so fitting.

This did make me love the song more and yes Adam looked sexy as hell. He is such a chameleon, he always looks slightly different every time I see him, in person or in photos.

OT – download the free single on itunes – it’s pretty good if you are into soul/rb

  173. I’m not crazy about the song (looking forward to his debut single though) but he looks like a star in this video. This song is a big deal for Adam…promotes him and keeps him in the spotlight until his ‘real’ debut single, promotes the movie, and builds up anticipation for his album. Yup, he’s off to a good start….

  174. I’m also a New Yorker, and I also lived through that day.

I really didn’t see anything that reminded me of it. The world is collapsing, not a couple of buildings.

Also, Adam was gorgeous and sang beautifully. In his first EVER music video. What else matters?

I have never heard the word cheese so much in my life, it’s making me lactose intolerant.

    ROTFLMAO

  176. He’s really yummy to look at and in that he succeeds in spaces. Mission accomplished

Yup, It’s really deep….eye candy is eye candy and Adam is the best. I can’t believe how sultry he looks…and I like the song and LOVE the voice. It’s all good for me…now for some more Hagen das.

  177. A subtle performance for an end of the world picture would have looked silly, IMO. Mad World is for introspective films (or even TV shows like FlashForward, which is more eerie, and of course on the small screen). This is a big time movie, so you get a big time performance from a big-time singer. Not that I am, you know, biased or anything.

Note the emo!hair, people, and long coat. Reminiscent of MW, actually (ironically) on the finale. Loved that, love this. Must watch again.

  178. Guess he could have been walking down the street with a donkey.

    lol

I don’t think Gene Simmons was free the day of shooting

  179. I’m looking forward to the surround sound, but I think perhaps some of the facial expressions may be a bit much for the big screen, JMO. That’s not really his fault–it is probably the result of too little time and the need to get it distributed for the TII movie. I’m sorry, FHS, that it reminds you of those tragic days, but I actually thought the “real” part of it with Adam getting jostled was the best part, except the last time it happened, I thought I saw him react BEFORE he got hit. Too many takes?

  180. LOVE the song, LOVE the video, ADAM LOOKS SO HOT!!!!!
What I love the most are his expressions, he’s not a robot that stands there, he grabs your attention.

  181. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the music video is OTT and really cheesy. After all, it is supposed to be promoting an OTT, cheesy action film.

Adam looks and sounds great, although I thought I saw a little lip sync trouble a couple of times. Not positive though.

I just hope the MV for his own stuff is more interesting and way less cheesy. But I guess this fulfills its purpose.

  182. Example of overacting:

Right at the beginning of the song when he starts into the chorus, “maybe it’s time for miracles…”, Adam has this look of absolute agony on his face.

Now how does singing “time for miracles” engender a look of agony? Doesn’t make sense. It’s too big.

I don’t blame Adam, I blame the Director and post-production. They should see that that doesn’t work. I seriously hope Adam doesn’t get panned for this.

  183. Hee! “I don’t care that there’s a freakin’ apocalypse going on. Stop with all your frighting and flighting! I’m trying to sing a damn song!”

And he looks a little drunk when he’s wandering around the post-riot scene.

What’s with the love of this family? Isn’t his John Cusak’s ex-wife married to some other dweeb (the pilot) by the time the universe hits the fan? Does John win her back and she dumps the dweeb (bad enough the world and everything you own is ruined, but your wife dumps you for a limo driver?) or does he conveniently die? I feel kind of sorry for the dweebish pilot.

  184. Lindsey Parker has weighed in on the video:

    http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/realityrocks/279195/adam-lamberts-first-music-video-explodes-fans-heads-follow-suit/

I liked this part of her column:

So with all this blowing-up going on, it makes sense that the just-premiered video for the cranked-to-11 track is an epic and explosive affair, sort of like a mini-movie version of 2012 itself. In the doomsday clip, the leading man (matinee Idol?) is in full-on trenchcoated Mad Max outlaw mode, fearlessly traipsing miraculously unscathed through a post-apocalyptic cityscape of looters, nosediving airplanes, freefalling great balls of fire, and imploding skyscrapers. And all the while, the camera basically makes love to him from every angle as draws on his many years of theatrical training (not to mention braving the fiery elements of the Burning Man desert) to deliver an appropriately OTT performance

  185. So sick of the word ‘cheesy.’

How about “formage-y”? Or “Grade A Velveeta”? Or just “Curdled and moldy milk?”

LOL’ ¦you made me laugh and laugh and laugh.

    Me too!

    …..

But then FHS’s reminder made me sad and I had to quit reading. I wasn’t even in NYC so I cannot imagine. I was in DC and lived only about a mile south of the Pentagon and that was bad enough. So I get it the reaction and concern about the video, and the movie for that matter, I do. I’m just (naively) hoping that the song message trumps the footage for some unsuspecting TII goers. Because, yes, if you go to 2012, you assume the risk of disturbingly real scenes, but not so much if you’re going to see MJ in TII….

    …..

Back to the video. It is very good, imo. But, I can’t say that my first reaction didn’t track that of others here concerning the theatrics. (I said as much in the prior Adam thread.) Having seen the whole video though, I have to agree that it does fit the purpose and context. Adam is an incredibly physical singer, and that fits this song and video like a glove. Bravo, Adam~

  187. Just watched the video and LOVED it! I don’t think Adam’s acting is any more OTT than that of any music video. I thought the purpose of a music video is to present a visual theatrical performance of a song, and in this case, the song itself is quite dramatic. Anyway, I think he looks fabulous, and I’m so thrilled for him!

  188. and Adam just loves OTT performances. Fits him like a glove and it showed. I loved it and he appears to have loved it, too.

  189. “Also, Adam was gorgeous and sang beautifully. In his first EVER music video. What else matters?”

Nothing. Pass the glitter and the flaming headdresses! It’s time to party!

  190. I feel kind of sorry for the dweebish pilot

I think he still loves her, their kid and her daughter, despite marriage to dweebish pilot. But yeah, dweebish pilot has to be toast. He’s prissy, that doesn’t go over well in disaster films.

  191. This is a cartoon version of the End of the World. It is a big budget version of “Volcano”. Adam would have looked totally out of place if he was restrained.

And I think that it fits the song and the movie.

  192. Wow, the CGI is just bad. Doesn’t Emmerich know that CGI has drastically improved since 1996’s Independence Day.

    Roquefort anyone? Heh.

  193. Squeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just watched it again and I love it!!

Adam, in all his incarnations, is just mesmerizing. No way he’s lost in the shuffle and I love it!!

  194. And he looks a little drunk when he’s wandering around the post-riot scene.

He looks gorgeous, like a star. If I looked like this when I am drunk I would drink everyday… Maybe I should start now.

  195. I must admit, despite my earlier criticisms that I like it more each time I watch it. This is usually the case with me and Adam for some reason. he grows on me.

  196. I think I would kill over and die if the typical negative commentators didn’t make their typical negative comments.

I want this on itunes now!!!!!

  197. Adam just set himself up for some super duper skits on SNL. Between this video and the Details shoot and American Idol…man I could be a comedy skit writer….he is so going to be a host on SNL.

Oh…and considering the video of the year for last year was Single Ladies Put a Ring on It….nuff said.

  198. Saying Adam Lambert is too theatrical is like complaining that a cow moos

    -Simon Cowell.

  199. If you watch ET (online is available), see thread above, you see them scruffing him up. It’s pretty funny, IMO.

Speaking of his interview on ET, where the video was first teased, I was trying to figure out when he was asked about doing the movie and he smiled and said YES when he had looked and sounded like that before. And then I remembered! It was when Jamie Foxx said, amazed, What? *clapped hands* after he finished crooning Feeling Good. “You don’t care who I am. (Adam had closed his eyes.) Adam laughed and nearly fell backwards. Then Adam said (out of the room) that “I was dying b/c Jamie Foxx was like 3 inches form my face and I was like, Wow, that’s Jamie Foxx. “(I am paraphrasing.)

I love this man. Humble and epic at the same time.

  200. Wow! I think the song and video fit the movie perfectly. I love watching Adam sing. I love the emotion he puts into every note and how he conveys that in his movements and expressions. And to join the shallow club, he looks extremely hot in this video (and very skinny).

What a week for Adam and his fans and there’s only more to come. It’s already been a wild ride and I’m ready for it to keep going.

  201. And he looks a little drunk when he’s wandering around the post-riot scene.

he does … I wonder if he was wandering around feeling bi-curious

I like the orange sky bits.. it goes well with his dark hair and black clothing .. and rather orange makeup in parts.

It does have a very 80’s video feel to it but I loved the 80’s music and videos so that’s fine by me

  202. This is a cartoon version of the End of the World. It is a big budget version of ‘Volcano’ . Adam would have looked totally out of place if he was restrained.

And I think that it fits the song and the movie.

It reminded me of the movie where the big tidal wave killed every body who didn’t get to higher ground. I think it was Deep Impact.

  203. And he looks a little drunk when he’s wandering around the post-riot scene

He’s numb. Numb from the tragedy around him, and things falling a part. And then he gets all OTT in anger and stuff later.

    Cinematic genius!

  204. I find it funny how everyone jumped on the ‘too theatrical’ complaint during AI and now it’s ‘too cheesy’ or ‘ too emotional’ . I don’t see how an Adam fan expected anything less?

I can’t speak for anyone else, but in my case, it’s because Adam’s AI performances were not cheesy or overly emotional. But Its really the song I object to – the video is fine for what it is. As others say, in keeping with music video style. Nothing to bemoan, but by the same token, nothing to get excited about.

Maybe MJ can put in a word filter to catch “cheese”, “thud”, “flail”, “squee” and any of the other overused vocabulary.

  205. How about ‘formage-y’ ? Or ‘Grade A Velveeta’ ? Or just ‘Curdled and moldy milk?’

    ]

Personally, Kristan, for Adam I think the following is the most apt: Caciocavallo Podolico.

    YMDV, of course.

  206. for some amusement, here is a guy doing a cover of the song:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caZBM2WLwMg

he actually manages to do a good job until the ending…I think its a great example of just how good Adam’s voice is…
there should be a song dedicated to how good his voice is…
LOL cant wait for whoever tries to parody him on SNL or whatever so I can laugh my ass off at them for trying ha!

  207. I don’t think Gene Simmons was free the day of shooting

LOL karenw, you made my evening, hilarious! I actually had the opportunity to speak to the donkey today and he told me he absolutely loves the song, the video and………Adam, of course! Smart donkey.

ETA: I 100% agree with Brian May on this song and Adam’s voice. I think I would love it even if I wasn’t an Adamaniac.

  208. He looks gorgeous, like a star. If I looked like this when I am drunk I would drink everyday’ ¦ Maybe I should start now.

Dude, you can be totally gorgeous and still a little drunk. Actually, I think he looks better in this video than I’ve ever seen him. Although, the skin tone colour is a little odd. That make-up artist had her gun set on “Olive”. But, then, if the world was ending, I might look a little olive myself.

It’s total camp, but it’s a disaster movie flick video. I would have liked to have seen more continuity in the movie visuals. And WAY too many shots of planes flying “maps of the earth”. Roland, they’re planes. They will do better to fly well above all that stuff that is blowing up. I can see doing it once, but if you have planes hugging the ground in every other shot, it loses it’s effect and just makes the pilots look stupid. The dweeb gets to do it because he’s new, but surely he’s not piloting all the planes while some limo driver steals his wife.

  209. Some parts of the clip looks like a video game, including Adam with his coat, hair and heavy make up seems to come out of Final Fantasy.

He also has some mean expressions like he smelled some very old camembert.

I have never heard the word cheese so much in my life, it’s making me lactose intolerant.

no one in this idol bubble should be lactose intolerant, since they eat blocks and blocks of cheese on a weekly basis while the show is on, and then eat it in tubfulls while they watch the idols on tour all summer…and they love it then too!

  211. Saying Adam Lambert is too theatrical is like complaining that a cow moos

    -Simon Cowell.

    This.

  212. Mila, I agree with you, where can we clone him? Video is AWESOME, I want lots of drunks walking through my neighborhood ASAP.

  213. I like the part starting 2:55 ‘baby can you feel it coming’ to 3:08.

btw, it seems the planet of earth is not totally destroyed at the end of the movie.

I think at the end of the video when the flame dies out and it start to rain, Adam is actually smiling. I hope they have a zoom in at that part.

  214. LOL karenw, you made my evening, hilarious! I actually had the opportunity to speak to the donkey today and he told me he absolutely loves the song, the video and’ ¦’ ¦’ ¦Adam, of course! Smart donkey.

    Don’t you mean “smart ass”??

I loved aggressive, dirty, disheveled, scruffy Adam. I’m biased, though, since I love him any way I can get him. If only I could get him.

  215. And I think that it fits the song and the movie.

Both are which are (sorry to offend) cheesy and over-the-top. So yeah it fits, but I don’t mind saying they’re cheesy and OTT. But less so than they were for me in the clips. The context of them is better and the lead up is better. And lots of crap exploding and riots around, make it better with more context of the movie it is for. And the (mostly) crappy song.

I love it and I cannot imagine anyone doing it better!

This is my favorite post tonight!!!!

  217. Poor baby…got dusted with dirt instead of glitter….but still looked GORGEOUS and SOUNDED AWESOME…MJS video was deleted…have to go watch again elsewhere……and my 17 yo daughter is coming around and admitted he is HAWT

  218. Some of you guys are masters of attention to detail. I mean that with all respect. I’m a shoot from the hip kind of person and make decisions quickly. But seriously, all I saw was Adam in the video clip. I could not describe any background info at all. This works to my advantage sometimes and sometimes not. So I don’t see fromage. I see frikking, gorgeous, amazingly talented Adam.

  219. Both are which are (sorry to offend) cheesy and over-the-top.

No offense taken whatsoever. That’s why I said it was “fitting”.

  220. Maybe MJ can put in a word filter to catch ‘cheese’ , ‘thud’ , ‘flail’ , ‘squee’ and any of the other overused vocabulary.

Can we add “storm” to that list?

Yes, the video is very Velveeta (IMO), but it’s not bad. It’s supposed to be OTT.

  221. Maybe MJ can put in a word filter to catch ‘cheese’ , ‘thud’ , ‘flail’ , ‘squee’ and any of the other overused vocabulary.

I think the most used work is Adam in this blog.

    from arianahall

I sang back up vocals on Adam Lambert’s (Amer Idol) solo album today, comes out in Nov!! Singing soprano on the tune: Aftermath. Great song!
about 1 hour ago from Echofon

Do we have the name of another song from the album? (Aftermath: this could have been the theme for 2012) ;-)

  223. Yes, the video is very Velveeta (IMO), but it’s not bad. It’s supposed to be OTT.

Of course it is. That’s what makes it so much fun. Now Velveeta is an interesting word. LOL.

  224. I’m also a New Yorker, and I also lived through that day.

I really didn’t see anything that reminded me of it. The world is collapsing, not a couple of buildings.

That’s good to hear, mamadeb. Because I want everyone who goes to TII to become an Adam Lambert fan. And not everyone with that potential is also a disaster movie fan.

if you go to 2012, you assume the risk of disturbingly real scenes, but not so much if you’re going to see MJ in TII’ ¦.

That was part of my reaction. An “oh no.” Because, it felt like a risk, for some people, who don’t know Adam to be so turned off by disaster and tragedy to not see him. Or see him in a negative light. Especially in NYC. And I want the TII opportunity to be a great one for Adam.

I watched the video because I wanted to see Adam’s first video. Not as a disaster movie fan. Plenty of Adam Lambert fans are not disaster movie fans. I certainly can appreciate good special effects. So far 2012 hasn’t showcased many. Had no expectations. Though thought they would concentrate more on intercutting the “big effects” — if they could find some– more than recreate small scenes of injury.

I didn’t know the video would have so much up close, on the street, personal tragedy. Wowee special effects might interest people in a movie. “Watch people experience personal tragedy and never see their loved ones again” isn’t necessarily of universal appeal. (Which is the level of appeal I’m hoping for Adam.)

  225. Guess he could have been walking down the street with a donkey.

    lol

I don’t think Gene Simmons was free the day of shooting

    ROFLMAO :)

  226. Wow! I usually try to keep my comments focused on Adam’s music, because he is so talented, but when I watch this video, his stunning good looks actually distract me from the song!

    (in a very good way.)

  227. LOL karenw, you made my evening, hilarious! I actually had the opportunity to speak to the donkey today and he told me he absolutely loves the song, the video and’ ¦’ ¦’ ¦Adam, of course! Smart donkey.

Don’t you mean ‘smart ass’ ??

lol … I’ve just choked on my coffee

  228. And he looks a little drunk when he’s wandering around the post-riot scene

You’d probably look a little wobbly too if you had just accidentally shattered the entire planet singing a high note.

  229. Cheesy? OTT? Are you kidding me? It’s the end of the freaking world and what else is it supposed to be?
Just got home and am catching up. Parent-teacher conferences should never be scheduled on nights when Adam epicness is expected to be released. Ugh!

So my first reaction was visceral — my heart pounded, my mind raced and I do believe I detected a little drool from my ever widening smile. Adam is so beautiful to watch that I almost didn’t notice all the people running by knocking him over (how dare they!!). And his voice just sounds all that much more powerful and stunning when paired with watching him emote.

LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!! So much Adam treasure tonight is simply taking my breath away.

You’d probably look a little wobbly too if you had just accidentally shattered the entire planet singing a high note.

    LOL :)

  231. Just watched the video.
I think the cheesy label fits in (being overdramatic, excessively emotional and clichd ) of course but it fits this specific genre, no?
On the positive side… great vocals and just love Adam’s look. Please dont ever do the pompadour or Elvis hairstyle again, it just looks old

  232. I agree, it feels like home, a typical dis-functional family, but cozy and familiar, the more I watch it the more i like it, he doesn’t look drunk to me when people are bumping into him on the street, rather overwhelmed by the destruction I think’ ¦

I think even Adam said it was weird/strange (don’t know the exact words) to be singing while the world is “ending”. I’m sure it was very surreal and disorienting.

Just watched the whole thing. Adam looks good, but I think he over did the dramatics just a tad bit.

Adam’s “dramatics” was nothing compared to Steven Tyler’s in the video for I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing – LOL

  235. So my first reaction was visceral ‘” my heart pounded, my mind raced and I do believe I detected a little drool from my ever widening smile. Adam is so beautiful to watch that I almost didn’t notice all the people running by knocking him over (how dare they!!). And his voice just sounds all that much more powerful and stunning when paired with watching him emote.

This was my reaction too. Who else was in the video besides Adam? lol.

Also– Adam’s voice matched to Adam’s actual peformance— stunning!!!!

  236. Mtlfan – how about the 50’s hair in the “Details” mag? Like that almost as much as the emoish in the video.

I think people were expecting an inward looking journey of reflective personal discovery from the movie 2012. You know, like most disaster movies!

Well Im not alone in that it seems :)

I have never heard the word cheese so much in my life, it’s making me lactose intolerant.

This was my big laugh of the day. Thanks.

Maybe I need to pass out a thesaurus. Oh wait here you go.
    http://www.merriam-webster.com/
    (just playing with you guys)

Agree with you Ravengirl. It’s the theme song music video to a disaster flick. He may not watch explosions but he sings the hell out of them and does it very well. Love dramatic, theatrical Adam. Dramatic Adam is so hawt and he wails for his life. But will wait until I watch the full video before forming an opinion. :)

  239. Don’t know how to quote, but have to pay homage to karenw, who delivered (by far) my laugh of the day:

“If I was running from a disaster and saw him I’d stop and say ‘OMG ‘ ¦. are you Adam Lambert?’ ”

  240. And he looks a little drunk when he’s wandering around the post-riot scene

He’s numb. Numb from the tragedy around him, and things falling a part. And then he gets all OTT in anger and stuff later.

    Cinematic genius!

    THIS.. Love this!

  241. Don’t know how to quote, but have to pay homage to karenw, who delivered (by far) my laugh of the day:

If I was running from a disaster and saw him I’d stop and say ‘OMG ‘ ¦. are you Adam Lambert?’ ’ </blockquote>

    BWAHAHAHAHAHA…

  242. Mtlfan ‘“ how about the 50’s hair in the ‘Details’ mag? Like that almost as much as the emoish in the video.

LeeTravers, i checked and there some shots where i like his hair. I don’t like when his hair goes too high on his head, i find it makes his face bigger and it’s less pretty. Btw what does emo means?

  243. Yeah, Adam is so super hot in this. But the video non-Adam parts are annoying. If I already bought TFM on iTunes, does that mean that mean I can buy the album on iTunes using the complete the album feature? I’m guessing no, but that is annoying. I hate paying for songs twice. But it’s Adam so I’ll deal with it.

  244. Still icked out this will be on Adam’s album. Ugh.

It better as hell be a bonus track and it better as hell better not be his first real single. I will cry if it is. Well maybe not cry, but I’ll be wicked pissed.

  245. Btw what does emo means?

This was an early vocabulary word around jan of 2009. Someone please explain!!!

  246. Well, I’m glad the thread was pulled and not me. I panicked for a moment.

anyway, Sherena. You said he looked hot. I agree, except.. he was so dirty. Immediately! i thought there was something wrong with the computer monitor. I just kept wanting to wash his face. all that debris will seriously clog his pores.

  247. I’ll bet it’ll be a bonus track.

Ew, hopefully not. that would seriously blow. Bonus tracks are supposed to be bonus. B-sides, you know. Stuff that almost didn’t make it. BONUS!

I doubt it will be. That’s.. not Adam. He’s a mouthpiece. It doesn’t even belong on his album, really.

  248. Ugh why is this even going to be a bonus track. I love the song and Adam’s singing but it’s not Adam. It’s going to piss a lot of people off buying the single and then it’s a bonus track on his album. It just doesn’t make sense. I hope it’s a rumor.

  249. I will cry if this is actually a single from his album. NOOOOOOOOOO. I hope it does not even occupy a slot on the track list.

BTW, what happened to the TFM video thread??

  250. And how come the video didn’t debut on myspace like it was supposed to?

  251. Ugh why is this even going to be a bonus track. I love the song and Adam’s singing but it’s not Adam. I hope it’s a rumor.

mj on the old thread said it was confirmed. I can has sads now.

But I can almost reconcile myself to it if it’s a frickin’ bonus, not on the rest of the album that everyone will listen to, possibly push out another song that IS Adam like (and that doesn’t suck) instead of it. It’s bad enough it might push a cool one off the bonus list, but I can still reconcile myself to that.

  252. You can watch the video again at myspace, and better quality (they said it would be up at midnight, and they were right):

    http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=64424781

I am fine with it as a bonus track, but not as the FIRST TRACK. It is NOT THE FIRST TRACK, as it is from a soundtrack.

BTW, why is being #11 on iTunes and #9 on the popchart a bad thing in 24 hours? I mean, it’s NOT from his album, and it might go higher tomorrow, right? I’m good w/ this….but I want to see the album cover for FYE. I want it to be HOT and not weird (please let it be hot and not the Michelin Man).

  253. Was posting on the other thread and it disappeared!

    A sign of the Apocalypse?

Anyway, my first thought on viewing the video:

    STOP JOSTLING MY ADAM!

I really don’t think his acting is OTT, it’s the end of the world, for God’s Sake.

What struck me was, is there a single bad frame of him in this video? He is just glorious.

  254. I’m not going to analyze this to death, I just have fun watching him and love listening to him sing. I really like the song and I guess I don’t mind it being a bonus track but it better not be his first single. I said I’m not going to analyze it but I agree with Mitla96 about his acting-It’s the end of the world but could you tone down your reaction?

  255. Wha….?? Why are people so upset about TfM being on the album? Who cares? a. It IS Adam – at least the Adam from American Idol. So, it’s going to appeal to a large portion of the fanbase he built there. b. It’s a great song. c. When the song came out, and even today, people were freaking out with joy and all ready to download it.
It’s just an album. It’s not a plan for world peace.

  256. Well, #11 is great considering the song is mediocre classic Rock ballad, and it’s not “current”. It’s selling well only because Adam sings it.

  257. Adam, come to Mama. Let me clean you up. You poor baby, Mama will take care of you.

  258. For me, emo is a GOOD thing, but that’s me. When *I* say emo, I mean that he has the kind of shaggy look hair, w/ the guyliner (of course) but no Elvis!Hair (I hate Elvis hair). The lead singers of My Morning Jacket and My Chemical Romance were emo guys. I kind of think Adam is emo here, b/c he has that angst/sorrowful look (emotional, emo for emotive, embracing the emotion). He was NOT emo on the Tour (tho sometimes he had the emo hair, but not usually). He was SEXYBACK!Adam. ;) (I want an Adam/Timbaland collaboration, no autotune necessary, dear God.)

I am not sure why so many ppl dislike this video…???

ETA: I am glad to see that some ppl really like the song and the video. If it were someone else singing it or acting in it, no. But see, it isn’t someone else. It’s ADAM and hence I love it, b/c I love his voice and his look.

  259. Still icked out this will be on Adam’s album. Ugh.

It better as hell be a bonus track and it better as hell better not be his first real single. I will cry if it is. Well maybe not cry, but I’ll be wicked pissed.

Sorry to be negative, but Since I followed DC last year, and they chose Light On for his first single, and the way it was introduced to the fans surprised that they picked a song he had no writing credit for, I am not ruling it out.

I really hope that it’s not the case though.

  260. Well, I can just say that Adam did not win, but his sales and pre-orders have been higher in less time than those of the guy who won (these are facts so far).
I love the song and the singer. And I think that he acted accordingly to the context of the situation in the film. And yes, I bought tickets to see TII and will buy for 2012 (I love end-of-world movies). I was given TfM as gift for my birthday, but as it becomes available on Amazon UK (Oct. 25) I will buy one. I won ´t buy the film CD, though. But, I have already preordered Adam ´s CD and, of course, I will buy the Deluxe edition, too.

Yes, I am an Adam fan and I am really enjoying it :-)

ETA: and I don ´t care if TfM is in the album. I just want the album, and then the tour.

  261. dyg1, I totally heart you, and once again, happy birthday (from yesterday). ITA in all ways.

  262. I WAS TOLD EMO MEANS EMOTIONAL. ELVIS HAIR OR EMO HAIR.
THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD. THAT VIDEO IS SO FANTASTIC. I ORDERED THE SOUNDTRACK OF 2012 PRE-ORDERED BUT I SURE HOPE THIS VIDEO IS ON IT, CAUSE THIS IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. ADAM STORM IS HERE.

  263. Wha’ ¦.?? Why are people so upset about TfM being on the album? Who cares? a. It IS Adam ‘“ at least the Adam from American Idol. So, it’s going to appeal to a large portion of the fanbase he built there. b. It’s a great song. c. When the song came out, and even today, people were freaking out with joy and all ready to download it.
It’s just an album. It’s not a plan for world peace.

Because it pushes out the opportunity for a better song. When I say this, I’m not thinking about Adam, I’m thinking of my favorite band.. and it’s absolutely distressing. Of course, the Killers would never ever do a song like this, and they write their own music so there’s not a chance for this cheesiness… but I can’t imagine if.. for some strange reason.. they made a song as cheesy as this and PUSHED out a legit song on their album to make room for this junk. That’s the whole thing. That this may take the spot of a better song. One of the Killers bonus Tracks is “Tidal Wave” and it is absolutely beautiful.. and to think it may not have been offered as a bonus? unthinkable! it’s amazing!

i need to stop thinking of it, because it’s actually stressing me out for some reason. it’s a real good song. as hardcore adam fans, y’all should get good made-for-Adam songs..

  264. Michelin man on the cover (wherever it is), TfM on his album, maybe TfM as his single? Bwhahaha. OMG that would be so funny, because that would suck so hard.

This would be CLASSIC. Oh my goddess, so funny.

I am not sure why so many ppl dislike this video’ ¦???

Emo, in general, is not a good thing though. you get mocked in the real world for being emo. You may personally like it, but it’s not usually a compliment. Adam isn’t emo at all actually.. he has the side swept black hair thing, sure, and the eye liner, and.. nail polish.. and ok, he has emo attire, but he doesn’t fit the emo “personality” bill.

  266. Truthiness, you make my heart hurt.

Nonetheless, there are a lot of ppl who love Adam’s voice (I mean, it went to #11 based on his Idol fans alone? He has THAT MANY IDOL FANS?). My sisters do and they are not Adamstans. And I do not for ONE second believe that RCA would have the Michelin Man for Adam’s cover. There is a method to the madness. I also do not believe that this will be pushed as his first single, b/c it’s being pushed as the single for 2012, and since FYE is now the name of the album, if they wanted to declare this the first track from FYE, they could have. But they haven’t.

  267. Well, I am happy to substitute another term for Emo!Adam. Suggestions welcome. :) (I do like James Dean!Adam, btw. Very hot.)

  268. I dont see the problem in being a bonus track in the album. It will bring more sales. Its his voice, which is what most people love. People wont be irked and hate him because there is a power ballad as a bonus.

TOML was a bonus track in DC’s album and didnt ruim his sales. He went platinun despite this tragedy.

  269. So, it’s going to appeal to a large portion of the fanbase he built there.

and he has to appeal beyond that, to be successful. Note, he didn’t get beyond 11 with just his fanbase

    b. It’s a great song.

Of course MMV, but I would say really, no, it’s not. It’s a medicore song at it’s best. But what can be said is that it’s not every modern at all and so won’t get any airplay. See “stalled at 11,” as to why this is important.

    c. When the song came out, and even today, people were freaking out with joy and all ready to download it.

Again, that’s his base, see previous responses to that, and not even all of his base liked this song, not even people here, much less elsewhere. And people who didn’t like it were consoling themselves that this wasn’t Adam’s real music. That there would be a single coming out soon that was actually for Adam, and not the soundtrack for some POS film where he was just the hired, very pretty, voice for.

That’s why this would suck, imho, for this song to be Adam’s single, and barely okay for this to be on Adam’s album as a bonus track. I’m still gritting my teeth if it’s a regular track.

  270. Does the Itune chart stop updating after a certain time? Why is TFM still #11? Given almost all Adam fans have already bought the song and the cheesy video is not so well received (at least here), I’ll expect it drops to #20-50.

  271. This is the look I like for Adam! I never like his heavy makeup that he usually does but in this video, he looks simply gorgeous and natural.

  272. Some people are greedy (me) and are afraid we’re only going to get 12 songs on his album. We want 12 songs we haven’t heard before. Of course, TfM could be an extra bonus tract on a 2 cd 24 song album. Some people do a lot of wishful thinking.

  273. thanks all for your comments on ’emo’
Sounded like emotional to me and i was not getting how hair could be emo. ok i did some reading on the emo culture. Seems somewhat a bit pathetic to me in the sense that ’emo’ people seem to go through a kind of victimization.
Anyway, i got that emo hair were hair (have to be black?) hiding a good part of the face and were in general greasy looking. I see now why it relates to Adam’s hair but not for the greasy part, geez, Adam has always a clean look.

alison8701, ..good comment on the subject

  274. Wasn’t Laura Saltman supposed to have part 2 of her interview with Adam today? Didn’t she say something about having to wait for Tuesday for the second part?

  275. RCA will push whatever song as the first single that it thinks will sell the most CDs and singles. If RCA thinks that pushing TfM as the first single and holding off on any of the other songs for now will do that best, that’s what it’ll do. If RCA thinks that releasing one of the other songs now will do that best, that’s what it’ll do.

  276. emo has been around for a while’ ¦ i think it generally refers to music/people/etc that is particularly emotional or angsty

    .

Yes of course (emo being around awhile). It came into my vocab around 1/2009. Adam has brought me all kinds of education. Good stuff.

  277. I love the way he looks, i love the way he sounds and i happen to love the song. I think the video is exactly the way it should be…gorgeous adam singing with gorgeous adam vocals a powerful song for a hopefully big blockbuster movie.

how can it ever be wrong when adam is singing…his voice is pure gold.

  278. For all the ribbing TOML took when it was first released, it had some serious legs. Cook’s fans got the song up the charts and it continued to sell for weeks and weeks as it was all over radio. TOML had a good melody. TFM, not so much.

  279. I always meant Emo!Adam like in the video, sort of brooding, maybe, no dirt, of course. Honestly, my favorite look is clean cut, just the guyliner, simple (sort of the way he looked for his first audition, when he wasn’t skerred, or def for MW, finale, which is not that different than he looks in the video).

Yes, I love Adam’s voice, and yes, he can sing Want or NoBo or the phone book and I will still love it and I will still buy it.

    Night, all.

  280. It’s a killer video! The whole world may be ending. So why not have a killer song, with vocals, that you would die for? Adam looks absolutely believable, and does a brilliant job, with his portrayal, with chaos all around him.
The director, chose to show passion & angst. Adam has always worked hard to, showcase the song he was singing, in context with the lyrics, and storyline.
Singing is story telling. He sings this song with the conviction, it deserve’s. It commands conviction, no less. The world is falling apart, and it is a time for miracles!

The ‘whole world’, has been on high alert, waiting & watching for anything Adam Lambert.
Brian May, of ‘Queen’, gave the song & Adam his highest praises. This was well over a month ago, or more.
The whole world, will be downloading this song. This is an Epic film, that many people will want to see, and they will be flocking to the theatre’s.
They will also buy the DVD as well. It will happen.

  281. Does the Itune chart stop updating after a certain time? Why is TFM still #11? Given almost all Adam fans have already bought the song and the cheesy video is not so well received (at least here), I’ll expect it drops to #20-50.

I-tunes seems to work on a 2-3 day rolling chart. Since TFM didn’t have any sales yesterday and the day before and the other songs did, it should keep rising still. Did anybody check if the chart is updating at all. Sometimes i-tunes will not update as often and seems to get “stuck”.

  282. Got this message: Sorry, the video you’re trying to access has been removed for a violation of our terms of use.

  283. For all the ribbing TOML took when it was first released, it had some serious legs. Cook’s fans got the song up the charts and it continued to sell for weeks and weeks as it was all over radio. TOML had a good melody. TFM, not so much.

I loved that song,TOML. Not sure why you wouldn’t give TFM a chance. The vocals and backstory are awesome!!!

  284. “I am really happy to see that those we know don ´t like Adam spend their time in Adam ´s threads That ´s called attraction, magnetism. The worst that can happen to an artist is to inspire indifference.”

It never cease to amaze me that people who really don’t like Adam or his music, become obsessed with him. I don’t know if they really don’t like him or are merely jealous of him and his success. Who knows but it’s kind of funny.

  285. It’s a killer video! The whole world may be ending. So why not have a killer song, with vocals, that you would die for? Adam looks absolutely believable, and does a brilliant job, with his portrayal, of chaos all around him.

I agree lovely. And now I am signing off. With no worries for our beloved Adam.

  286. I am really happy to see that those we know don ´t like Adam spend their time in Adam ´s threads That ´s called attraction, magnetism. The worst that can happen to an artist is to inspire indifference

Yeah.. just like magnet, he always attracts positive and negative … LOL

  287. For all the ribbing TOML took when it was first released, it had some serious legs. Cook’s fans got the song up the charts and it continued to sell for weeks and weeks as it was all over radio. TOML had a good melody. TFM, not so much.

I was answering to the claim that the song didnt represent adam’s actual sound. TOML didnt represent Cook. If TFM will fail miserably and do worse than magic rainbows is another story. I just think the exposure will be a lot different. In another level. Idol bublle X real world.

  288. Just watched TFM Music Video ‘“ this is totally unfair.
Adam is disheveled and worn, yet so absolutely gorgeous.
Riveting and so good looking. How can that be?

Watched it with a group of 6 boys ages 17-32 and they all applauded and did hi-fives .
Then they all went to look for the MV at iTunes. Couldn’t locate it so they just downloaded the song. They think the MV will be available for download maybe tomorrow .

So hey , all is good. I think sales will go up. I have a big smile.
But still I think it is unfair how Adam can be so ggggrrrr great looking even if dirty and with sticky looking hair ( but love the emo hair or whatever it is now called).

  289. bridgette12, it’s like blood in the water—people see a little opening and pounce. Sadly, I am sure I have been guilty of it at some point.

Anyway, I love the song and the video, and after all the excitement of the day it’s sad that the tide seems to have turned here. One thing is obvious—expectations are brutally high for Adam, from his own fans, and whatever he puts out it will never please everyone.
Edited to add, in terms of iTunes, TFM is a soundtrack song, and the movie isn’t even out yet.

  290. Ok this website is acking so wired the thread of Adam’s that everyone is talking about missing isn’t. For some reason it’s mix up with the Michael Jackson tribune from DWTS. Does anyone know why.

  291. That was pretty weird. I’m not sure what happened…but the post is back. Not sure if any comments are missing.

  292. Oh, one last thing and then I will DEF go to bed. I was thinking about him reaching out in the video with his arm a number of times, and then I thought, well, this is kind of the opposite of RoF (tho there was reaching as well, remember, just in a different context). RoF was kind of angsty (or defiant? I don’t know) and this was different (hence the name of the song). And I thought, I love them both, b/c I love all sides of Adam. (I will not call Adam emo anymore, but I still think his hair is, animated.)

I keep watching the video and loving it more each time (the same thing happened w/ the song, I guess the way it did with RoF–the more I listened,. the more I loved it). So I’m good, and if others aren’t, well, Adam will deal, I’m sure. ;)

    Ciao.

  293. I had to leave for a few hours of RL and I am very puzzled by some of the comments on this thread. Seems some people are talking about TFM failing miserably, WTF? The song is #9 in Itunes Pop, #11 overall, made it to #1 on Amazon, is high on the charts in Finland and Canada, all in under 24 hours. How did this get translated to not doing well. Looks like it is doing pretty darn fantastic considering the song is barely starting to get promoted by Adam and it is definitely not a mainstream song. BTW it is not meant to be, it is a movie soundtrack song, which makes this even more amazing. Seems like some people have to twist the positve into negative at all costs when it comes to Adam. I for one am thrilled at how well it is doing. The video is great also. Adam looks beautiful and sings and acts appropriately for what it is. Is he supposed to just stand there singing a love ballad without any emotion while chaos is exploding around him? Well done Adam!

That was pretty weird. I’m not sure what happened’ ¦but the post is back. Not sure if any comments are missing.

I blame the Mayans and their damn calendar.

  295. i think the other thread was engulfed by tsunami…..poof…gone to oblivion!
About Adam’s mv, i have six words. GORGEOUS!!! Even with all the soot & grease, he looks stunning!! …AND THOSE EYES (i.am.melting)…luv the HAIR, the trench coat, everything –he really looks masculine here. Not OTT for me; it was just right. What can you expect from a music video for a disaster film? him standing like a stick with all those high notes? (that would look odd…LOL).
It doesn’t make sense that they’ll include TFM in his album. They’ll lose sale; ppl will start cancelling their 2012 soundtrack preorders once they know TFM will be included on the album because many (myself included) purchased the soundtrack just for the TFM. Maybe it’s just a PR mistake. Although I prefer one more extra new song instead of TFM, I don’t really mind, if they do…it’s extra money saved for me.

  296. Dear Alison and Truthiness,

Please don’t stress out for Adam or his fans! I heard he’s putting the city of Los Angeles back together in his next video!

    P.S. A Picture is just a picture!

  297. Once upon a time there was a rock group called Aerosmith that hadn’t reached the Top Ten in 9 years. Then they recorded a song called “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.” Not only did it not hurt their credibility but the big soundtrack song brought them a whole new fanbase…

Then there’s the story of country star LeAnn Rimes, who did a big soundtrack song called “How Do I Live” which reached # 2 on the pop charts and became one of the longest running songs on the pop chart ever…

Are you sensing a trend here? And remember, in Adam’s case, there will be a two pronged attack. “TFM” can easily be a hit on adult contemporary radio, while whatever fierce song RCA promotes from his album will fly high on dance oriented and pop/rock/R&B radio. In this case, two is better than one!

  298. I’m sorry if I’m totally out of the loop and missing the obvious, and if I’m making people repeat things, but where do we have the info from that TFM will be on Adam’s album? All I remember Adam’s saying is that it might be a bonus track. Also, why do we think it may be his album single? I can’t remember where specifically, but I’m sure I’ve heard him say on a number of occasions that this was definitely NOT the case. Clue me in?
    Thanks!

  299. Ah, ESQT… remember “2012” is a big movie and there are other people who might buy a soundtrack of it besides Adam’s fans when they come out of the movie. Plus the fact the soundtrack comes out two weeks before Adam’s album, so there won’t be any cannibalizing of sales. Adam fans that want to have “2012” in their collection will buy it and so will people that just want the soundtrack. In fact, most fans will just buy the track on Itunes without buying the whole album anyway…

And there’s a track record for artist’s albums and soundtracks sharing songs. It certainly didn’t hurt Celine Dion to have “My Heart Will Go On” on both the “Titanic” soundtrack and her album…

  300. by some of the comments on this thread. Seems some people are talking about TFM failing miserably, WTF? I think he had a great day and I am very happy. You have to understand there are certain people who will say negative things about Adam any chance they get. You just ignore them, and enjoy the music. So far he has had the most success, and that bothers certain non-Adam fans, because their favorite is not getting a lot of attention. Adam has the potential to do a lot more than what the other idols have been able to do.

  301. I’m going through the comments here now.

Commenting on the commenters will get you put in moderation. Most of you should know that by now.

Please deal with the negative criticism, or find a nice comfy fan forum where the flailing is never ending.

  302. I like TFM, I flove Adam’s video…And the most impt thing is We Adam’s fans appreciate what he brings on us, because in every work he does he gives his best to give us a very good and nice entertainment.

  303. Saying Adam Lambert is too theatrical is like complaining that a cow moos

Maybe he could just forget TFM and sing a subdued version of Donkey Serenade?

  304. wow cool video! typically cool i should say…not much different but i didnt expect anything unique or out-there for a disaster movie song…

and adam looks nice with the middle parting of the hair….

I guess I have a hard time understanding how some don’t consider this song ‘Adamlike’?! It’s Adam singing it, and he’s doing a fine job. It’s a rock song. Adam sings rock songs. It’s angsty. Adam does angsty. I think it’s a perfect song for Adam and am thrilled that it will be on his album so I can play it over and over with the rest of it. I am going to clutch this song to my chest and hold it close to my heart because I have a feeling there will be songs on the album that won’t be my cuppa (just like this isn’t someone else’s) and I can listen to TFM. Have I said this morning how gorgeous he sounds and looks in this video? Gah…..

  306. Ok mj – I know better but that did make me laugh – Adam is amazing in this – and I am so excited that this is only the beginning of many more good things from him!!!
