Adam Lambert Drops More Details on New Musical He’s Writing (Video)

It’s been a week of American Idol reunions for Adam Lambert, as he promotes his birthday show at the Roxy taking place on Friday January 29.

Earlier this week, he dropped in to say hi to OG winner Kelly Clarkson on her afternoon talk show. The two compared their American Idol experiences, while Adam hinted that during his COVID-19 pandemic downtime, he’s been working on a new musical. On Wednesday, the Queen frontman chatted with Idol host, Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show, and dropped a few more details regarding his mysterious musical.

The mysterious musical is full of collabs and based on a true story

The musical is based off a true story, Adam shared and features a bunch of collaborations.

“I’ve been focusing on a couple of projects that I probably wouldn’t have had the attention span for otherwise,” Adam shared. “I’ve been writing a lot of music via Zoom, … but it’s for a musical actually. I’m developing a musical in a different way with a lot of people from the pop world, a lot of collaborations, it’s very exciting.”

Adam continued, “We’re just looking at music right now,” he added. “The story is based on a guy that really lived so it’s a real-life story, but it’s a guy that you probably don’t know which is very exciting. But, that’s all I can say right now.”

Hm…sounds intriguing!

Tickets still available for Adam’s virtual Birthday Concert Live from the Roxy

Meanwhile, tickets to Adam’s big birthday show, which will be livestreamed from The Roxy in Los Angeles, are available now. “I’m doing a concert on my birthday so on my list is I just want the night to be as good as it can be,” Adam concluded, revealing he’ll be performing two shows so fans all over the world can watch it.
