Adam Lambert Celebrates Queer Pride: “We’re Here to Fight Back” (Video)

Adam Lambert Stonewall day

American Idol alum and Queen frontman Adam Lambert performed and curated the third day of the OUTLOUD: Raising Voices concert on Sunday (June 6). The powerhouse singer performed solo with an assist from trans German pop star Kim Petras on a couple of numbers.

Last summer, Pride events were cancelled or streamed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Outloud event, which took place at the Los Angeles Coliseum, welcomed back live audiences. During his performance, Adam’s joy at finally being able to connect with his fans was palpable.

Adam put together an impressive lineup for the Sunday concert which included several fellow singing show stars:  The Four alums VINCINT, and Zhavia Ward and Angel Bonilla from The Voice. Pose star MJ Rodriguez made a surprise appearance. Country star Chely Wright and ‘Black and Gold’ singer Sam Sparro also hit the stage.

Earlier in the day, Adam welcomed the crowd on Stonewall Day with a little speech. The singer had been looking forward to the event for months. “It means so much to me and my “Feel Something” foundation to partner with Pride Live on the fourth annual Stonewall Day celebration.”

It was trans women of color who led the revolt at the Stonewall bar in New York City years ago, and Adam stressed how trans rights are on the line right now.  “You cannot sit on the sidelines anymore,” he added, “Tonight, we are here to fight back.”
