Idols arrive in Graceland
Found this bit of info on Idol Forums: The Idols will arrive at Graceland around noonish (EDT) today. Maybe you can spot them on the Gracelandcam. That sure would surprise the tourists waiting to get in. Heh. Photos of the Idols’ visit will be posted at Elvis.com. thanks tisha
Idols CD Officially Announced
American Idols Season 5 Encores will hit the stores May 23. Read all about it in this MTV article. The songs on the spoiler list making its way around the net were correct, by the way…
I’m liking all the song choices except Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks. Katharine’s version of “Think” was a bit de-souled for my tastes. She’s much better singing standards like “Come Rain or Come Shine.” Taylor’s “Taking it To the Streets” was good, but “Living in the City” and “Trouble” were better. I also think Paris Bennett’s “These Foolish Things” was her personal best of the season. But maybe, that performance came too late in the season to be considered for the CD. Her cut on the record is “Midnight Train to Georgia.”
I mentioned last Saturday, that I heard that even though the contestants were told they could pick their own songs, some where “persuaded” to do a song the “idol people” liked better. That bit of gossip is money, kids…
ETA: Did anyone watch On the Record with Greta Van Susteren last night? I’m reading on the message boards that Ace Young was a guest on her show, and apparently he said he’d be “overjoyed” if Elliott Yamin won the competition. Since Ace and Chris Daughtry were “joined at the hip”, from what I heard, that seemed a little odd to me…
