The Academy of Country Music announced the nominations for the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday (Feb 10).

Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett revealed this year’s ACM Award nominees for Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, New Female Artist of the Year, and New Male Artist of the Year on the ACM Awards Twitter, where the two  surprised each other with respective nods in the Male and Female Artist of the Year categories.

The big news, however, is that the ACMs are the first awards show to welcome back Morgan Wallen after his N word controversy last year. And he’s back with a roar, receiving 3 nominations (Male Artist, Album, Song). The Voice alum was banned from all awards shows last year due to the controversy. Will the ACMs invite him to perform this year? If they do, he’ll receive the biggest cheers, as his fans never deserted him. Although he lost sponsorships, radio play and the ability to tour, his fans continued to stream and buy his music.

In other news: While Carrie Underwood was nominated in the Entertainer of the Year category, however she was omitted from Female Artist of the Year category. Her duet with Jason Aldean, “If I Didn’t Love You” was nominated in the Song, Single, Video and Music Event categories.

Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett received their first nods in the Male Artist of the Year and Female Artist of the Year categories, respectively.

The Voice season 2 alum Nicolle Galyon received her first Songwriter of the Year nomination. She has previously been nominated for three ACM Awards, winning two. She is the third woman to be nominated for Songwriter of the Year.

This year’s show, on Prime Video, will make history as the first major awards show to livestream exclusively.

The 57th Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted will be hosted Dolly Parton and co-hosted by Jimmie Allen (American Idol, Dancing with the Stars) and Gabby Barrett (American Idol).  The two singers are reigning ACM New Male Artist and Female of the Year.

The event will stream live on Prime Video and without commercial interruption, on Monday, March 7, 2022, 8:00 p.m. EST/7:00 p.m. CST/5:00 p.m. PST from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Tickets are currently on-sale at Ticketmaster.
