Ahead of tonight’s 2021 American Music Awards, 21 of the night’s winners were announced during a special TikTok livestream hosted by Billboard’s Tetris Kelly and The Hollywood Reporter’s Tiffany Taylor, featuring singer/songwriter JoJo as co-host.
Carrie Underwood and Gabby Barrett take home trophies
Competitive reality show fans pulled through for their favorites, as Carrie Underwood and Gabby Barrett nabbed two awards each. Carrie won in both the Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Inspirational Artist categories bringing her career AMA total to 17.
Gabby nabbed her first American Music Awards ever, including the Favorite Country Album award for Goldmine and Favorite Country Song for “The Good Ones.” American Idol judge Luke Bryan won in the Favorite Male Country Artist category,
The remaining winners will be announced during the broadcast beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST on ABC. Cardi B hosts the AMAs live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Watch this space for the remaining winners!
Tonight’s event will feature collaborations and special performances from: Bad Bunny with Tainy and Julieta Venegas, BTS, Coldplay, Olivia Rodrigo, Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, New Edition and New Kids on the Block, Diplo, Maneskin, Mickey Guyton, Tyler, The Creator, Walker Hayes, Zoe Wees, Chlöe, Giv?on, Silk Sonic, and Jennifer Lopez.
