2020 CMT Music Awards Winners List – Carrie Underwood, Gabby Barrett

The CMT Music Awards take place all over Nashville Tennessee tonight. Check out this link for a list of performers and presenters.

The event is simulcast beginning at 8 pm ET/PT across MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network, Pop TV and TV Land. Country music’s only entirely fan-voted awards show returns to celebrate music’s biggest stars through epic outdoor performances in and around Music City. Each winner is selected by the fans.

UPDATE: A big night for our talent show favorites! American Idol alum Carrie Underwood won Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year. It’s a record breaking 22 wins for the season 4 winner. Wow!

American Idol season 16 alum Gabby Barrett won Breakthrough Video of the year for her smash country hit “I Hope.” Taylor Swift, who won the award 13 years ago, presented! Gabby also performed “I Hope” with her husband and fellow Idol alum, Cade Foehner.

The Voice coaches and real-life couple, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani accepted the Collaborative Video of the Year award for their hit “Nobody But You.”

And American Idol judge Luke Bryan won Male Video of the Year for “One Margarita”

Fun moment: Katy Perry introduced Luke Bryan’s performance from backstage at American Idol judges auditions. When CMT added Katy to the list of presenters, I had a feeling an Idol plug was coming! She joked that when CMT asked her to introduce her favorite judge, she replied that she’d be happy to introduce Lionel Richie. Heh.

And Kelly Clarkson introduced a performance from Kelsea Ballerini and Halsey. Both have mentored on The Voice.
