Here are some of my favorite performances from the 2016 Grammy Awards which aired Monday night on CBS. Check out Grammy clips from Kendrick Lamar, Adele, The Cast of Hamilton, Lionel Richie, Alabama Shakes, Little Big Town, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Gwen Stefani.
Also, click to watch performances from Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt, Pentatonix and Stevie Wonder, Tori Kelly and James Bay, Lady Gaga, Chris Stapleton, Jackson Browne, Johnny Depp and more.
Kendrick Lamar -The Blacker The Berry
I’m not even a rap fan, but my favorite performance of the night was Kendrick Lamar’s “The Blacker The Berry.” He swept the Rap categories and deservedly so.
Adele – All I Ask
Poor Adele encountered sound problems at the beginning of her performance, but vocally she was in fine form as usual. Her rendition of “All I Ask,” written with Bruno Mars, was even more emotional than usual.
The Cast Of Hamilton
If you haven’t heard about the hottest and game changing musical on Broadway, Hamilton, you have now. Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) created this music based on the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton. But here’s the deal: The music is hip-hop and other than England’s King George, it’s cast entirely of people of color. Drop by our Tonys live blog and with Hamilton literally win all the awards. In this clip, Lin-Manuel is Alexander Hamilton singing about what brought him to New York City.
Lionel Richie Tribute
This crowd-pleasing tribute to Lionel Richie featured John Legend, Demi Lovato, Luke Bryan, Meghan Trainor and Tyrese. Lionel joined everyone on stage for a big finish, “All Night Long.”
Alabama Shakes – Don’t Wanna Fight
Brittany Howard and the Alabama Shakes dominated the rock categories, winning Best Rock Song, Best Alternative Album, and Best Rock Performance. Watch the band perform their Grammy winning song, “Don’t Want to Fight.”
Little Big Town – Girl Crush
The country band won Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song for “Girl Crush.” Watch Little Big Town perform their Grammy winning hit with a string section!
Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods
Taylor Swift opened the telecast with a performance of “Out of the Woods” from 1989 which won Album of the Year. She also took home awards for Video of the Year for “Bad Blood” and Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989.
Justin Bieber Skrillex and Diplo – Love Yourself, Where Are U Now
Justin Bieber won his first Grammy ever in the Best Dance Song category for Where are U Now with Diplo and Skrillex and they team up again here. Justin performs an acoustic “Love Yourself” before he’s joined by his collaborators for the Grammy winning “Where Are You Now.”
Gwen Stefani – Make Me Like You
Gwen Stefani performed a “Live” music video for her new song “Make Me Love You” which was basically an ad for Target. So.
