2016 Critics Choice Awards Nominees Announced

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) have announced the nominees for The 21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards. The winners will be revealed live at the Critics’ Choice Awards gala, which will be broadcast from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on A&E, Lifetime and LMN on Sunday, January 17 at 8PM ET/ 5PM PT immediately following “Critics’ Choice Red Carpet Live” on A&E at 7PM ET/4PM PT. Actor and comedian T.J. Miller will serve as the show’s host.

In the competition reality category, Survivor, The Amazing Race and The Voice are nominated. Best reality show host nods go to Survivor’s Jeff Probst and The Amazing Race’s Phil Keoghan.  Taraji P. Henson is nominated in the actress in a drama series category for her role as Cookie Lyon in Empire (which is also nominated for best drama). The Wiz Live’s Dorothy, Shanice Williams is up for actress in the movie or limited series category.  The Wiz Live is up for best movie or limited series. Hayden Panettiere for Nashville, Marisa Tomei for Empire, Mary J. Blige for The Wiz Live!–all up for supporting/guest category nominations.
