2015 TCA Awards Nominee List

Not to be confused with the Critics Choice Awards, although there certainly is overlap! The TCA Awards are hosted by the Television Critics Association at the end of their two week summer media tour. It’s a different organization, but more or less the same television critics voting in the categories.

Empire is up for a slew of awards. The mega-hit freshman will at least win Best New Series. And in the reality category–don’t be surprised if The Chair from Starz wins it all.  It wasn’t highly rated, but critics adored the series from Project Greenlight producers, which followed two first time directors working with the same screenplay.

THE TELEVISION CRITICS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2015 TCA AWARD NOMINEES

The 31st Annual TCA Awards will be presented on Saturday, August 8, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel

LOS ANGELES – Thursday, June 4, 2015 – The Television Critics Association (TCA) — a media organization with more than 200 professional TV critics and journalists from the United States and Canada — announced today the nominations for the 31st Annual TCA Awards. The 2015 TCA Awards recognize outstanding television programming in the 2014-2015 season, honoring actors, producers and programs in a variety of categories, including news and information, youth, reality, drama and comedy. The winners of the 31st Annual TCA Awards will be announced at the invitation-only presentation on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, as part of the group’s bi-annual industry conference, the summer press tour. The celebrity host for the event will be announced later this month.

 

The Summer TCA kicks off Tuesday, July 28 with Netflix; the cable portion of the tour begins Wednesday, July 29; PBS rolls in Saturday, August 1; Amazon presents Monday, August 3; the broadcast segment starts Tuesday, August 4; digital networks present on Sunday, August 9; and the event concludes Thursday, August 13.
