CKx, the company that owns American Idol is to undergo a major retooling, according to a report from the New York Times. That is, after the company itself undergoes its own reorganization. The company will consider changes to the voting system as part of the “refresh.”

Phillip Phillips “Home” Makes American Idol History, Bows at #2 on Digital Chart

Phillip Phillip’s coronation single, “Home” bows at #2 on the Billboard Digital Songs chart this week with 278,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

It’s also the second-best digital sales week ever for any Idol contestant. Only original Idol, Kelly Clarkson’s 2009 song “My Life Would Suck Without You” had a higher sales when it debuted with 280,000 downloads!

Haley Reinhart’s debut album, Listen Up! debuts on the Billboard Charts at #17 with 20, 000 copies sold. Kris Allen’s Thank You Camellia, his second post-Idol release, debuts at #26 with 16,000 sales.

UPDATED: Phillip Phillip’s Journey to the Idol Finale debuts on the Billboard chart at #11 with 24,000 copies sold. He pushes Haley and Kris down the chart.. Jessica Sanchez’s Journey to the Finale enters the chart at #126 with 4,000 sold.
