X Factor Top 9 Theme is “Giving Thanks”, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars to Perform

Kelly Clarkson and Bruno Mars will be the special musical guests on the X Factor results show airing on a special day–Wednesday November 23 at 8/7c PM. Kelly and Simon will meet face to face once again! That is, if Kelly’s performance isn’t taped ahead of time.

Kelly will introduce her new single, “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” and Bruno will perform “It Will Rain.”

This week’s theme? Giving Thanks. Whatever the heck that means. What it means is “mentors will shoehorn any song they please into a wide-open theme” Really looking forward to the panel arguments over whether the song choices fit the theme or not!

Tuesday’s performance show airs on Tuesday November 22 at 8/7c pm. All this shuffling around of the schedule is to accommodate the American Thanksgiving holiday (hence the theme) taking place on Thursday November 24th. (Via EW)

One performance to send off MKIA, one to welcome the mass to Stronger, and both performances are on the week leading to black friday.

Get those sales Ms Clarkson. Her label is handling this era pretty well.

X Factor  is good to Kelly. Australia, Germany, UK, now USA.

Hmm.  Wonder what kind of rap Astro will come up with for that one?  Thank you for letting me stay even after I threw a temper tantrum?  Thank you for letting me use my own material while everyone else has to do covers?   Thank you for letting me perform with my Dr. Dre headphones even after you told me I couldn’t?  Should be an easy week for him since he has so many options.

  • TBTW

Can’t wait to see Kelly perform “Stronger” – I have a feeling it’s going to be a big hit!  Should be great live.

I’m predicting a Kanye West song for Astro.  Either “Stronger” or “Jesus Walks”.

Kelly AND Bruno? I totally am going to watch that results show. :)

New single? What happened to the first single? (That was quick.)

OH man! Kelly and Bruno in one show? Happy Thanksgiving to me!

Astro may be a big reason for such vague theme weeks.  Gaga/Queen week, Big Band week, and the like wouldn’t fit him, so they have to stay vague.

Astro could do Kanye’s “Hey Mama.” Giving thanks to his mom with a rap about how he messed up and doesn’t want to disappoint his mom again. It would fit the theme perfectly.

“Kelly will introduce her new single, “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)””

Cool!  Looking forward to Bruno too.  Two artsts who don’t need to lip sync to sound good.  ;)

Kelly’s promotional campaign has been simply perfect.

I wonder if they will ever bring any other idol alumni in the future or if Kelly will be it.

Love Bruno and Kelly, so this may be one results show I actually watch the whole way through.

As for other Idols performing on XFactor? There are only a handful of them who are pop, rap or pop/r&b artists, and I think that’s probably what XFactor will stick to in terms of guest performers. I think they also have to either have a big hit, be a star artist or have some tie in to XFactor’s sponsors (like that one act who has the Pepsi jingle). So unless Adam (the most likely), Kris, Jordin, Haley, J-Hud or Pia (the most likely candidates outside of Kelly, since they are the most pop or pop/r&b of the Idol alums) have a huge hit, I wouldn’t expect to see more ex-Idols on X-Factor anytime soon

I love Kelly Clarkson’s music and I love Bruno Mars’ music. And I am very thankful that I will be able to watch videos of their performances here on MJ’s, so I won’t have to waste my time watching the over-produced battle of the (judges’) egos!

From a programming standpoint, its really not smart to keep shuffling a show like Fox has done, especially one which is trying to get an audience.  The show has aired original episodes on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday so far….Its not the first time they’ve switched shows-  first baseball, then Thanksgiving, then prob Christmas/end of sweeps…Its too much

Looks like Astro’s Mom is in LA right now.  Should make for an interesting VT before his performance tomorrow.

Well I’m thankful Stacie is gone!

I’d be more thankful if Too Tall Steve would keep his pie hole shut!

Even better he can do Tupac’s “Dear Mama (You Are Appreciated)”

Looking forward to Kelly tonight. Adam Lambert praised her AMA’s performance here: http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474980797534

    Very cool!
