Check out a recap of last night’s The Voice Top 12 performance episode HERE. And our The Voice Top 12 prediction post is HERE.

Watch Dolly Parton, Pentatonix, Jennifer Nettles Perform on The Voice

Also, coach Miley Cyrus and a cappella group Pentatonix will perform “Jolene” With Dolly Parton, who will also sing “Circle of Love” with Jennifer Nettles and the Top 10 Artists. Nettles is starring with Parton in the NBC special, Christmas of Many Colors base on Parton’s childhood. The special airs tomorrow night at 9 pm.

The show kicks off with Dolly Parton and Jennifer Nettles singing “Circle of Love” from their upcoming Christmas special. The Top 10 contestants back them up. They sing happy birthday to Jesus! And Dolly speaks/sings during the bridge. We’re having a real Hallmark moment right up in here.

Jane Lynch appears in a video package. She hosts a special edition of Hollywood Game Night that pits the coaches against each other in a game of guess that song. They sing popular tunes in funny voices. Really. These are not hard. Blake and Adam win.

Results! The Top 10 take the stage. FIVE singers charted in the Top 10. Time for stupid questions. Sundance declares that Austin is his BFF. America saved…from Team Adam…Brendan Fletcher! YAY. America also saved from Team Blake…Sundance Head! The number 2 & 1 iTunes chart toppers, respectively.

After some chit chat with the coaches, the remaining 8 contestants take the stage. Christian talks about his big moment on the stage last night covering Lady Gaga. America saved…from Team Alicia…Christian Cuevas! America also saved…from Team Miley…Ali Caldwell!!!

Vote for Chris Jamison, Hannah Huston or Zach Seabaugh to return for a performance on the finale. Go to NBC.com to vote. Ha. Even The Voice alums can’t escape the tyranny of the online vote.

The remaining six contestants take the stage. Aaron says Miley helped him be true to himself. America saved…from Team Adam…Billy Gilman! America also saved…We McDonald from Team Alicia.

Next, Pentatonix, Miley Cyrus, and Dolly Parton perform the country legend’s iconic song “Jolene.” Here’s a tip: I heard a rumor that the next Pentatonix album will be country. How about that. In any case, I LOVE this version of “Jolene.” Miley is…unnecessary. But that’s OK.

Carson sends thoughts and prayers out to the folks in Tennessee suffering from the  effects of the wildfires going on right now.  Dollywood is in danger of being destroyed.

The remaining four take the stage. Courtney’s voice trembles as she talks about what The Voice means to her. Austin also tears up talking about his family. America saved…Josh Gallagher from Team Adam. Oooh. Something was censored.

Aaron Gibson, Courtney Harrell and Austin Allsup will perform for the instant Twitter save!

Austin Allsup – Team Blake – Tennessee Whisky – Good song choice for Austin. He probably should have stayed in this lane throughout the competition. BTW, Austin has been sick all week. His voice does sound a little strained. After the performance he walks over to where his family is sitting to tell them he loves them. He didn’t get it at first, but Adam has become an Austin believer. Blake is proud that he’s the only coach to turn a chair for him.

Courtney Harrell – Team Blake – God Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts – Interesting song choice. Nice rendition from Courtney. She slams some big notes at the end. Alicia calls the performance very beautiful. She’s pure, she says, and has burst out of what folks might have expected from her. Blake confesses Courtney is one of his favorites ever.

Aaron Gibson – Team Miley – Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright by Bob Dylan – A heartfelt and intimate rendition of a classic. Miley wipes away tears as he sings. Carson says Aaron has a “permanent residency” in the bottom. For a third straight week Aaron has had to sing for his life. Adam says flat out that Aaron should advance! He asks fans to vote for him. Wow. Miley begins crying more. She thanks him for allowing her to be his coach

All three singers thank their coaches. Courtney declares she’s “free” as if she knows she’s going home.

America INSTANTLY SAVED Aaron Gibson. Oh man. I voted for Austin. He deserved it. Too many Bottom 3 appearances for Aaron. Blake lost TWO contestants in one wack.

Austin Allsup and Courtney Harrell from Team Blake Shelton are eliminated!

That whole setup seemed staged to help Aaron. He sang last. ADAM LEVINE BEGGED AMERICA TO VOTE FOR HIM. A coach asking America to vote for someone not on their team hardly ever happens. The shots of Miley crying through his performance certainly had an impact. Oh well. Nobody in danger tonight would have made it past next week in any case. In the end it doesn’t matter.

The vote was SUPER CLOSE. Austin was ahead during the commercial break, but right before the voting window closed, Aaron pulled ahead.
