Lacey Brown apparently released an EP on May 31. Sounds nice — she has a lovely recorded voice!

Aww, that single from Garcia makes me sad. Honestly with all the idols I have been a fan of, I really had high hopes for him because of his distinctive voice ( even though it’s a little TOO close to Brunos) and the freestyle hip hop videos he has posted on youtube. But this song is just sentimental tacky crap, as Barry from High Fidelity would say. Sadz.

I think Andrew Garcia’s true talent is in arranging. I’ve watched some of his vids and he lets the other singers take the lead while he’s crooning in the background. But you can tell, they are taking the cues from him and he’s driving the melody, arrangement, etc.

The snippit I heard of Crazy is okay. Nothing really special. I was hoping for more of the groovy kind of stuff he did on the show and the tour.

But then, look at that terrible cover art. Andy looks like a schlub. He looks at you like… yawn, why are you here?

I know this isn’t supposed to be important, but if you don’t look like a star, then it’s harder to be one. Andy shares the same problem Lee has – no star power and no charisma. If you don’t have these you can have all the talent in the world but you’re probably going to end up in some kind of behind-the-scenes capacity. So Andy can be a producer and Lee can be a songwriter, because I do think this is where their talents lie. ;-)

Darn. I saw ‘Is It Over’ and immediately thought that Randy and Carrie recorded Kris Allen’s song by the same name.
