Keith Urban and Kris Allen joined forces last night to sing Don Henley’s “Boy’s Of Summer” last night at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas.

Kris is set to open for several of Keith’s shows over next few months. You might recall that Kris and Keith sang “Kissed a Girl” at last May’s Season 8 finale.

Kris’s opening act set consisted of eight songs – Heartless/Gangsta’s Paradise, Can’t Stay Away, Is It Over, Red Guitar, The Truth, Alright With Me, Live Like We’re Dying and Come Together.

    girlygirl – I can’t believe they are listing “The Truth” as a new song on the radio station you cited. It just says by Kris Allen, so who knows which version it is. Surely, surely, Jive will listen to the fans. 19 entertainment on twitter is @19News and Jive is @JiveMusic A lot of people are just tweeting @Jive and that is going to some dude in S. Carolina … maybe if we let them know how upset we are…

    Thank you so much for this video of Keith & Kris- its so ironic that these 2 sing this duet so well together soon after the disastrous Pat /Kris- so called duet was released- there is no comparison!! [ Actually I just thought a duet with Chris Daughtry on Send Me all Your Angels would also work well!!]
    As an Aussie I am so proud of what Keith has achieved since he left here.Keith & Nicole are huge fans of idol- they loved Michael Johns in Season 7 [ the Aussie connection also helped]- so there’s no snobbery there with Keith , I think he generally thinks Kris has great talent & is happy to give him this opportunity.

    girlygirl, that’s quite interesting that The Truth is listed on that Chicago station in their new music but wasn’t played per reports. Seems to me Jive thought we’d all say ‘OMG that’s awesome’ or just not pay attention. I think they’ve underestimated how many fans are out here.

    LOL, poor Kris. I think the trauma was actually singing in that pit and not necessarily performing that song. Good thing that he blew the audience away with Ain’t No Sunshine the week before, so that people still wanted to keep him that week.

    Girlygirl, I just now checked out this link and I didn’t see TT listed under New Tunes @9. There were 14 tunes listed, nothing listed next to the #15. Think it’s been taken off?

    This performance is amazingly good. I love the guitar jam session and Kris’s voice is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful when he sings. Their voices go so well together, and it is almost unexpected because they fit so well. I don’t think Kris even realizes just how gorgeous his voice sounds, it just gives me warm fuzzies. I love that Keith Urban is doing this. Every time I think about it, I am almost overwhelmed because it makes me feel so happy. My husband and I just purchased our tickets today for the Iowa State Fair Kris and Keith show, they went on sale this morning, and we are so excited to see the show! Even though I am trying to live in the present, I still can’t help but think of a time when people will be debating over which Kris Allen CD is the best, etc. Okay, feel free to throw Kleenexes at me *sniff *sniff

    Yeah, I wonder if Kris realizes how incredible he sounds. And his talking voice “I love Las Vegas”. Aaahhh. His deep voice. He hasn’t even started singing and I was already a puddle watching the video, not even seeing it live.

    And I’m not going to throw you a kleenex since I feel the same way. I can’t believe how much invested I’m in this guy. Everytime he got criticisms, I feel the pain. LOL. And the same way with the praises (eventhough I feel that he needs to get more of these), I feel so happy for him. I got the feeling from now on to Monday night (?), I won’t be able to sleep well thinking about the announcement for the next single.

    Thank you to all who brought video and the BOS mp3 to the thread. Very much appreciated! Those guys sound so good together, and they both seem like such GOOD guys. Gives me warm fuzzy feelings to see Keith take Kris under his wing this way. Cracks me up though, as I listen to the mp3 on repeat, when K & K let the audience sing, and the crowd doesn’t know the words, lol. But they are able to jump right back in and get the song back on track. Definitely a pair of pros.

    I checked out that Las Vegas review someone posted up thread, and was surprised by how many KU songs I know. I may have to buy a CD from Keith. 1) because I like the songs, and 2) because he’s been so nice to Kris. Means something to me to see that.

    Aw, so Kris and the band know how much we talk about this new TT.
    Wait, was Cale’s tweet referring about the new TT or just general support of the band ?

    Anyway, just thought about it that if TT is the new single, on every interview Kris will be asked how he felt about the new recording w/ Pat’s voice. Poor Kris.

    When I was driving home last night, there was an ad for the ‘Kings of Leon’ tour this summer. They didn’t say who there opening act was. So it got me thinking that maybe this could be the band Kris is opening for. Kris previously stated he was a fan of theirs. I think they would be considered cooler then Mayer but not as big as McCartney. They only have 3 dates in June but a ton in July. Two of the dates conflict with tour dates Kris has already announced. It doesn’t match with solo artist hint since it is a band but just throwing it out there as another possibility….

    dcmjfan127, KOL was one of my first tought regarding this. It would be very cool indeed. It’s not rare to see more than one opening acts during a tour in order to accomodate everyone’s engagements.

    We’re seeing K/K at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, Aug. 14. Can’t wait!!

    And, like others, I think I will have to check out more of Keith’s albums since he’s being so nice to Kris. I already downloaded KAG and love it!

    I’m hooked on this video of these two fabulous guys.

    Reading in the official thread about the single, it’s been interesting to note several who have mentioned Jive’s poor distribution of Kris’ album, of not being able to find it in stores. Is anyone making the effort to see that it is available for sale where Kris is doing live performances? For those of you who have been to his performances since the album was released, was it available for sale?
