Jive should record the Heartless/Gangsta’s Paradise and sell it as a single. I think it would make a small mint as a Saturday radio club hit.

I guess the organizers made Kris get down off the stool after he did 2 songs as they were afraid he might fall (probably since he bounces so much). But looks like he had good blance — wonder f Daniel (his gymnast brother) taught him that.

Kris sounds good as always, and seemed to be having fun with the crowds. And seems like Cale is starting to build a fanbase of his own, judging from the tweets and squeals I’ve read/heard for him of late.

Can’t wait to see Kris on SYTYCD tonight — wonder if he’ll have the whole band with him. Anyone here going to the taping? I would have, but I have to work…

From all appearances, I’d say so. It’s not my fav, but it’s definitely a catchy, easy-to-sing-along-to song and would probably be a hit. [Kris, I still vote for CSA/BWCU!]

Love this. In addition to the acoustic Christmas EP for next year I requested yesterday, I’d also like a live acoustic EP next year – WITH the Mat Kearney song he told Jim was acoustic-y!!

Wow, Kris has really improved. Heartless was outta this world. His lower register especially was scrumptious. He doesn’t twist his mouth when he sings high notes like he used to and he pronounces his words better — doesn’t slur so much — so I know what he is saying. And he looks more joyful and self-confident. Gosh Kris, new guy in town!

I love his “Man in the Mirror” so much. I keep hoping that’s the one he recorded for a TV show. Like for “Idol Gives Back” next season. And why not?

Cale’s harmonies are sounding sweet here. Their voices sound so great together. I love MITM, too. It’s sort of becoming his signature at these appearances, which is cool, because it has such a great message.

Listening to the whole album I'd never considered AWM as the next single, even though I adore this song. I thought CSA would be an obvious pick, as it showcases Kris' edgy, sexier side and is so catchy.

Joe King of the Fray said in an interview (beginning of July) : “..Kris was just coming up with amazing melodic ideas..”
I think there is a lot of Kris melodically in this song… great for him. This is promising for the future (although i already kind of knew this from the BNS album)
On the other hand, Kris said that Joe is one of the people he learned the most in the song making process. I’m glad he’s so much learning as he goes. AWM is an amazing song and i’d like it to be the 2nd single. This or BWCU. I love CSA but the other 2 are better vocally in my opinion.

Alright with Me is also my favorite on Kris’s cd. I REALLY like that song.

And yes, Jim’s tweet is hilarious, as they always are. Glad to see he loves Ellenore too!

Yes, wasn’t it Joe King who suggested that Kris maintain a private journal, that it would help him remember stuff that could be used for writing songs.

I just love how Kris & Cale harmonise together. That is what I liked about some songs on BNS & I now wonder whether it was Cale on some of those songs as well?

Hahaha Same here. I was just happy everytime he made it through to the next week! Though it wasn’t my faith in him that I had doubt with, it’s all that sabotaging or being threw under the bus thing that made me had those doubts.

Some good news for Kris:

In the past 24 hours, LLWD has moved up on iTunes ahead of Carrie (Cowboy Casanova), Justin Bieber (One Time), and just now, Rihanna (Russian Roulette). He’s now at #31, right behind Kelly. I have no idea how much of a gap is between LLWD & AG now, but it will be interesting to see if the performance tonight on SYTYCD gives him the boost over Kelly.

I said it earlier, but I do love Kris live. I think it’s a real strength of his compared to many other contemporary artists whose live performances can sometimes be a letdown (see AI Results shows this year!). We saw this season just how good the AIers are live compared to current artists, with Lady Gaga being one obvious exception to me – I think she kills it live. Kris shows time and again how solid he is as a live performer.

Hey Judes, Kris is the only vocals on BNS. (except female vocals on WIA) All harmonies are him. In fact, he is too prideful to have printed that info on the jacket, but everything except drums, bass guitar and cello on LOS is Kris.

Kris and Cale have been playing together for quite some time and do have a great harmony.

The computer room is next to my room, so she’d hear the show from there. WHen he did ‘Falling Slowly’, she asked if it was ‘that Kris guy’ singing. I said ‘Yes, you like him?’ She said , ‘He doesn’t suck.’ lol

BTW, ‘Falling SLowly’ is when I started becoming a believer.

I’m sounding like a broken record but as usual, AWM is my favorite yet again from yesterday’s set. I really hope that’s the next single, summer or not. It also has a country feel so it may cross over that genre and may sell really well. If LLWD is being played in a couple of country radio stations (according to Girlygirl or Eileen), I think AWM will have more potential to be played more on those stations (aside from HAC and Top 20 stations).

“Alright With Me” is one of my two very favorites from Kris’ album (the other one is “Red Guitar”), and I think it would be a great second single. I also really like LLWD, though I think it’s trickier to perform live.

Love Kris acoustic – he just looks like he’s having fun! I’m convinced all the stuff his fans may angst over (records sales, etc.) he knows how to take in stride and put in perspective.

yay seriously, based on all the recent videos that surfaced, I think his album sale number had not bugged him or stressed him out at all. I’ve never seen him more relaxed, funny and happy! He is just going to keep on doing what he loves and continue to live his dream as a musician to the fullest! Good for him!

Kris’ LLWD is now at #30 and album is at #131. Note that he hasn’t appeared at SYTYCD on the west coast yet. Before the east coast show LLWD was at #31 and album at #161. So far good movement for his album though it might be due to the lower ranking as compared to much higher ranking for LLWD.

Kris’ thinning hair is genetic — if you see his dad, you’ll see he has a bald spot in back. And his brother Daniel is basically bald — and he’s younger than Kris.

There is so much love for AWM that I’m beginning to think Simon Fuller (or whoever) was right to pair Kris up with Keith Urban on the AI finale. There are similarities with it and Kiss a Girl, that they sang together. I hope Kris won’t rule out the possibility of crossing over to the country genre. He definitely has some roots/viability there.

Oh, am I the only one who kinda missed Kris’ sneakers tonight? He’s just not as bouncy in those boots (altho he did look very “smart” as my English step-mother would say, so I guess it’s a tradeoff)!

Hey I saw him just two days ago and his hair is awesome. Under the lights he has this little thinning area in back (I guess, or is his hair just really fine and so you can see his scalp?).

My husband is 53, and his hair has always been like this. -It hasn’t gotten any worse as he has gotten older. It is because he has very fine hair and several cowlicks that make it separate and swirl around in that area. I think that may be what’s going on with Kris’ hair too.

I will always love Kris unplugged and wearing those unbuttoned Henleys.!!!

I don’t care if he’s not selling as much as other idol winners, just enjoy listening and watching his songs and performances. He’s so good at acoustic performances, wow!

I can’t believe he doesn’t even have a microphone on some of these videos. His voice is clear and strong and awesome.
