Jessica Sanchez to Sing National Anthem Before NBA Finals Game 1

There’s no confirmation yet, but it looks like Jessica Sanchez will be singing the National Anthem before the first game of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder at Oklahoma City. The game airs on ABC at 9 pm ET.

Jessica returned a tweet from a fan announcing the appearance on twitter, and she tweeted another fan that she’s got one more big appearance before the tour begins in July.   Her appearance seems like a pretty good bet.

It’s tradition that the Idol winner (Season 5 it was 3rd place finisher, Elliot Yamin) sing the Anthem at one of the games. With Phillip Phillips recovering from kidney surgery, Jessica is the likely choice.

She’d be a the perfect choice anyway, because we know that she sings it beautifully!

    That can not be a good thing for Pia after they threw everything but the kitchen sink to launch her. Never though of it but the Kardashian comparison is sort of accurate.  I liked her singing voice a lot, but I remember hearing her in an interview and thinking she was a bit shallow.  Too bad.

    Jessica is already on Interscope’s roaster.  So is PP.  And although he is not listed anywhere yet, I am 100% sure Iovine will not renege on Joshua Ledet after he said on television he would sign him.  Skylar and Colton are also writing and talking about records, I believe they will be also signed.  That sounds coherent to me with my impression of those Iovine showed some love.

     I think I am one of the few who likes Jessica and think that a single/EP deal for her might actually work much better.  I see her as a very unique artist in which she is only 16, but has a very mature voice.  Putting youth and strong voice in one song is challenging, it will take some work (and time).  By the end of the day, it’s all about good songs. Better go out with one killer song than with a full record of rushed songs. If she can take a good year or more until she releases an album, so be it, as long as it’s a good one.

    Jessica is already signed by Interscope but it’s still unknown if she’ll have an album or an EP. Nicki Noelle, a UMG singer-songwriter has already started working on her single.

    No you’re not. I totally agree with everything you said. I don’t see the point in releasing an album quickly nowdays, unless you have a huge fan base like Scotty. It’s better for Interscope to concentrate on getting a hit for Jessica or even a collab. It’ll benefit her in the long run.

    Count me in as another one who agrees with you. I think the focus should be on getting Jessica a hit song right now, so an EP of 5-6 strong potential singles sounds good to me. If one of them works it could buy her a little time to ease into the scene, do some collabs, sing some hooks for people, tour, hone in on exactly what she wants to sound like and what she has to say… you know, to simmer just a little longer cause as usedtobelucy always says, she’s not quite soup yet. But she’s really, really close.

    Now Joshua and Skylar, I want albums from those two like yesterday. And Phillip, I just want to see if he can write or not!

    Of course, since no one pays us to run a single record label I doubt they’ll listen to us. But they should! #asstalkingisfun LOL

    I thought Pia was signed, but she’s more interested in photo shoots, hanging around with the Kardashian’s, makeup, clothes, etc.  Doesn’t seem as thought she’s got an album coming out.

    Tweet her again and find out who she’s working with! None of these random people please. Interscope knows they got some serious producers on the roster, they trotted them out last year. I don’t want an album of dumb rush job filler from old Mariah reject types.

    Of course she won’t tell crap on Twitter, but its always nice to dream.

    They really should. Most of the time I’m confused with the decisions some labels make. 

    I agree that Joshua and Skylar are ready right now to release an album just because they are in a specific niche. Joshua is a great interpreter and Skylar from what I’ve heard so far seems like a good writer. The label will just have to work hard on getting them radioplay.

    Jessica’s genre is more singles-oriented, so the focus for her should be on finding a hit.

    Hi guys, no worries,Jessica is no PIA because a song writer from Universal Record Group confirmed (thru her twitter) that they are now working on Jessica Sanchez’s first Album and also Jessica confirmed it on her twitter. :)

    I wouldn’t be surprised if the record deal announcement was tomorrow. It’s the CHR official add date for “Home” and Phil finally got out of the hospital. I didn’t remember they had announced both Scotty and Lauren at the same time, and since they did, they’ll probably do the same this year too.
