Lots of Kelly domination and Carrie has a big week. Cook and Archie numbers weren’t in top 50.
I added the Micheal Jackson numbers because of the Idol effect.

Very impressive that Carrie already sold over 100K of the boot song. The power of AI stays strong.

Well, Archie’s song A Little Too Not Over You, is starting to do better on the radio. It was #1 on Z100′s noon countdown yesterday and #1 on XM’s 9 oclock countdown. XM also spun it ten times yesterday. So sales might start to do better soon, hopefully.

And to think, the audience will be hearing it every week. That song will get to gold in no time.

Circuit City bankruptcy. I’m sure that’s why Elliott sold so many Xmas albums in March. There really is no other explanation.

It’s nice seeing Kelly’s and Carrie’s names together. They really are the living proof that Idol winners can become superstars!

Carrie would probably get an even bigger jump after her performance today on Idol.

OK…..I just read that david arch has sold 1.6 million and david cook has not hit the mill mark yet…is this true???? also I read that carrie U fans all went out and bought some more copies of her CD as a Birthday gift for her so her numbers would GO UP….I find this carrie U thing to be really weird if true….Is this sorta thing unique to Idol fans only because I have never heard of such oddity.

I think that’s for the singles Crush and Light On respectively. The albums are kinda reversed where DC has reached platinum while DA is at 650 K.

coco, I’m not sure what you’re asking about, but check out that Idol Chatter link MJ posted– the info on Archie and DC’s sales is all there if you read the whole blog. Archie’s sold 1.6 million of Crush, and DC has sold 827K of Light On. Is that what you mean by David Cook not hitting the million mark? If you mean albums, though, he hit the mark the first week of March, and now stands at 1.03 million sold (per Idol Chatter).

DC: TOML: 1.1M sold, LO 827K sold, Album 1.03M sold
DA: Crush: 1.6M sold, ALTNOY 127K sold, Album 665K sold.

Hopefully that answers every comparative question there is, LOL.
The ALTNOY number is from last week, because USA Today didn’t give out its numbers for this week.

PS – I know people have been called delusional on this blog for suggesting this, but I’m really starting to wonder if LO could one day go Platinum. It won’t be anytime soon, but I think if it holds fairly steady and doesn’t plummet in sales it could make up those 173K needed. Maybe.

Jolene, I think if David’s other singles are successful in drawing in new fans, then I’m sure he’ll continue to get LO purchases and possibly go platinum. I heard that LO will also be on the NOW 30 CD that comes out next week, but I’m not sure if that will count towards singles…probably not.
