Idol Headlines for 2/16/13

Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd, Dancing With the Stars Pros, Split – Looks like Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are saving their last dances for other people. After dating for 10 months, the Dancing With the Stars pros have gone their separate ways, sources confirm to Us Weekly exclusively. Insiders say Chmerkovskiy ended the romance two weeks before Valentine’s Day — and one week before New York Fashion Week, where he was spotted hanging out with other girls. The reason? “He wasn’t feeling her anymore,” a source says of the notoriously hot-tempered dancer, who was previously engaged to fellow pro Karina Smirnoff. (He was also linked to his Season 10 partner, sportscaster Erin Andrews.) Murgatroyd, for her part, “didn’t want it to end,” another insider tells Us. “It will be very heated between them when the [new] season starts in a few weeks.” – Read more at US Magazine

Catching Up With Casey James: The Reality Rocks Interview – Casey James has become one of the biggest success stories from “American Idol’s” otherwise troubled ninth season, signing to Sony Nashville; touring across the nation with the likes of Sugarland; and being embraced by the Nashville community, just like fellow non-winner country Idols Kellie Pickler, Bucky Covington, and Josh Gracin. Last year, the guitar-shredding Texas rocker released his self-titled debut album, and he has been touring nonstop pretty much ever since. So when Casey’s never-ending road travels took him through Los Angeles recently, naturally he stopped by Yahoo! Music headquarters to fill Reality Rocks in on what he’s been up to, how far he’s come since he competed on “Idol” three years ago, and what’s in store for him in 2013. – Read more at Yahoo

Carrie Underwood Blasts Through Colorado for Sold Out Blown Away Tour Shows – Exclusive Pictures – Carrie Underwood‘s husband may have gotten her roses for Valentine’s Day, but there’s no way that gesture — no matter how many chocolates were included — could surpass the sweetness of a packed room of screaming fans on the singer’s Blown Away Tour. The wildly successful run rolled through Colorado for two back-to-back sold out shows this week, including this one on Feb. 13 in Colorado Springs, where Taste of Country contributing photographer Joshua Lowe had a front row seat. Lowe reports that Underwood, along with tour partner Hunter Hayes, put on a passionate and energetic performance, which delighted the crowd. Obviously, the ‘Two Black Cadillacs’ singer made for a hot pre-Valentine’s Day date for those in attendance. Couldn’t be there? Don’t fret — Lowe has made these photos available exclusively to Taste of Country readers for your enjoyment. – Read more at Taste of Country
