à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m flattered, and I think ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s hilarious,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Kris Allen told People.com recently, responding to the news that his former roommate and runner-up on à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“American Idol,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Adam Lambert, had a crush on him.

Mr. Lambert, who favors black eyeliner and leather pants, had told Rolling Stone that Mr. Allen, an aw-shucks Christian from Arkansas, was à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“the one guy that I found attractive in the whole group on the show à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ except that he has a wife.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

This all went down in the same interview in which Mr. Lambert finally confirmed the long-simmering rumor that, yep, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s gay.

Sweat and determination at ‘American Idol’ audition at Cowboys Stadium

Denton resident Rachel Tillman couldn’t stop smiling as she moved toward the stadium entrance. “I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 10, and now that I’m off therapy I want to try to get back on track,” says Tillman, 25.

After three brain surgeries and chemotherapy, the tumor à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ once the size of an orange à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ is now dime-size. “The rest of it is inoperable,” says Tillman.

“It’s so intimidating, all the people and the wonderful talent here,” she says. “But I guess my dreams are bigger than that. I’m just happy to be here.”

‘American Idol’ finalists get ready to hit the road

Face to face at twin pianos, Matt Giraud and Scott MacIntyre strike the opening chords of “Don’t Stop Believin’,” and playing in unison the two “American Idol” finalists start to sing the Journey classic.

They trade lines about small town girls and city boys, and as the song unfolds the rest of this year’s Top 10 Idols join in more or less in reverse order of their finish.

Michael Sarver and Megan Joy trade verses, then Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai, Allison Iraheta and Danny Gokey take their turns.

WHAT’S COOKING: On the Adult Contemporary chart’s sister survey, Adult Top 40, David Cook completes a feat previously achieved by only two solo males.

Cook collects his third top 10, as “Come Back to Me” lifts 11-10. His introductory single “Time of My Life,” last year’s “American Idol” victory song, reached No. 7, and “Light On” peaked at No. 4. All three songs appear on Cook’s self-titled debut album, which bowed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in December and has sold 1,174,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Only two other male soloists have notched at least three top 10s from an album in the Adult Top 40 chart’s 13-year history, and the previous two also did so from debut releases: John Mayer (three top 10s from “Room for Squares,” 2002-03) and Rob Thomas (four top 10s from “…Something to Be,” 2005-07).

Demi Lovato, David Archuleta cancel Aug. 17 Van Andel Arena show

GRAND RAPIDS — “Camp Rock”‘s Demi Lovato and special guest “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta have canceled their Aug. 17 concert at Van Andel Arena.

“We were informed by the promoter that there was a scheduling conflict,” Rich MacKeigan, regional general manager for Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place.

Three dates were canceled, including Grand Rapids, he said.

Tickets can be returned for a full refund at the point of purchase.

“I know I’ve got a little girl who’s 8 who’s disappointed,” MacKeigan said.

David Archuleta ‘Devastated’ by Michael Jackson’s Death

Just as Michael Jackson shot to fame at a young age, David Archuleta is in the beginning stages of his career while only a teenager. And like countless other peers and fans, the singer is already feeling the loss of the King of Pop.
“Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m really devastated to see the loss of such an amazing and inspiring artist,” Archuleta tells PopEater. “Michael Jackson has been one of the most influential artists to me and so many other people around the world.”
The ‘American Idol’ singer urges others to remember Jackson for his prolific contributions to the pop world. Archuleta says to PopEater, “While Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m really sad to hear that he has passed, I hope that the people will now appreciate the amazing work he did and not focus on the hardships he faced.”

JORDIN SPARKS – JORDIN SPARKS SCARED OF KELLY KNOCKOUT

Jordin Sparks thinks Kelly Clarkson would beat her in a fight.

The ‘Battlefield singer’ – who won US TV talent show ‘American Idol’ in 2007, with Kelly triumphing in 2002 – admits she would have no hope if she became involved in an altercation with the 27-year-old singer.

Asked who won win in a tussle between her, Kelly and UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ winner Leona Lewis, Jordin replied: “Leona’s really sweet, I can’t imagine her trying to fight anybody, she’d be like, ‘Oh, it’s OK.’ I think Kelly could definitely kick some butt, she’s from Texas. I would try but then I would feel really bad so it wouldn’t count. Kelly would win.”

However, the 19-year-old singer insists it would take a lot for her to get involved in a fight as she prefers not to show her feelings in public.

The hitmaker showed up at the recent CMT Video Awards in Nashville, Tenn., with ex-girlfriend Sheryl Crow, but he was really at the award show to be close to his new love, according to the Globe.

A source tells the publication, “The romance between Kellie and Kid has been the worst-kept secret in Nashville.”

Insiders claim Pickler was talking about Kid Rock when she recently told a radio interviewer, “I’m seeing someone. I got a man. He’s a great, great guy. We’ve been seeing each other for over a year.”

The Susan Boyle Experience

Not who: that we know. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a stout, plain, 48-year-old Scotswoman whose bravura performance of the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Les Misà ©rablesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ anthem of entitlement, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I Dreamed a Dream,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ on a British talent show in April became a hugely popular YouTube clip.

X Factor stars Journey South ‘hurt’ by Simon Cowell’s word

Brothers Carl and Andy Pemberton have labelled Cowellà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s remarks à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“very harshà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ but say they have now resolved the matter.

In an article for a national newspaper, music company boss and TV star Cowell was discussing the public backlash he received after the latest series of Britainà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Got Talent.

He went on to criticise what he called the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“crop of bad losers from old X Factor and Britainà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Got Talent seriesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ .

The Journey South duo from Coulby Newham reached the final of the second X Factor series in 2005. But in 2007 they split from Cowell and his record label Syco/Sony BMG.

“The Susan Boyle Experience” piece set me wondering why, all of a sudden, we hear nothing about her and appearances (or no-shows) on the Britain’s Got Talent tour, while last week there was news every day. The last info I can find is that she performed in 2 concerts at Wembley Arena, London, last weekend, and in Aberdeen, Scotland early in the week. There seems to be a news blackout from then on. Unless I’ve just looked in all the wrong places.

Demi Lovato / David Archuleta show cancellations…….

I hate people who do this to me…but this time I am going to read between the lines. I have this feeling that the “Disney” backing for Demi may be running just a bit out of patience….and as venues don’t sell well their may be more cancellations. Three dates is a lot to cancel…that hurts Demi’s cred big time.

Maybe all the really vested David fans should be happy that his name is so peripheral to the tour. Maybe he can stay clear of the back lash that this type of thing can cause.

I also wonder who thought that Demi was the kind of “household” name that could “headline” this type of concert. Even though I don’t follow the teen scene I can say that the little I do know, Demi doesn’t seem to be a key player.

  • lavender1960

Well to have scheduling conflicts in 3 venues is rather suspicious. One venue yes not three or someone is really incompetent.

It is a tough time to tour for anyone right now especially untried tour acts and I am finding more popular acts are being more judicious in their choices of venue and even festivals are cutting back.

Virginfest in Maryland was a 2 day affair last year, just one day this summer. And they had a presale on Thursday for FREE TICKETS if you were on the email list so my friend and I got 2 tickets for free, squee. The free tickets were gone of course in 20 minutes. The one day pass was $100 last year.

Not that it matters much in the “teen pop” category, but here’s a video from this Demi chick’s tour. She is terrible. I mean, like “first or second to sing two songs on an Idol Tour” terrible.

Here’s the good news. At least we know that the Idol people recoup a few bucks selling off their old tour sets.

  • Lu

I had the unfortunate experience of sitting through Demi Lovato at the Jonas Brothers (another Yippee!) last summer. She is a back up act at best and not a very good one of those. I thought she sounded incredibly off key… PAINFUL. .. and was about as exciting as watching paint dry. Too bad, David couldn’t get that JoBros gig that Jordin got… The screaming little girls (my eleven year old included) would’ve loved him. Plus, I know I’m going to have to take my daughter to see the JoBros again and I’d love to see David A!

Even Disney bloggers are not liking the Demi cancellations…

    http://www.disneydreaming.com/2009/06/26/demi-lovato-cancels-three-shows-on-her-concert-tour/

This just in! Demi Lovato has canceled three of her upcoming tour dates this summer. We know for sure that one is her show on August 18 at Van Andel Arena, but make sure to check with your local venue if you have tickets to make sure your show is still on!

Apparently Demi had a scheduling conflict – yikes! We wish they would just let David Archuleta go and perform for the entire concert, but alas if Demi doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t go on nobody goes on!

  • hwc

So what you are saying is that Demi is no Annette Funicello?

From the YouTube clip, she is nearly devoid of “it factor”. She’s like one of the girl singers on an Idol tour that you just can’t quite remember her name, but you kind of remember from early in the season — althought the Idol wannabees can usually sing well, even if lacking in stage presence and charisma.

I’m thinking of, for example, that cute as a button 17 year old African-American chick singer on Taylor’s season. Did a nice ballad on electric piano on the tour. Good singer. Way better than this Demi girl. Darn, what was her name?

  • Lu

So what you are saying is that Demi is no Annette Funicello?

    Not even close.

She is terrible. I mean, like à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“first or second to sing two songs on an Idol Tourà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ terrible.

Nope… way more terrible than that.

  • Jolene

I wonder how many more “scheduling conflicts” are going to come up before this tour is over…

Have to wonder who ever thought this girl could sell out an arena. Her success is TV based, if her album and single sales tell us anything at all. Bad idea to let her face such huge expectations and fail to meet them. Too bad David couldn’t be teamed with a more successful Disney act, if he had to be associated with any Disney act at all.

  • JRB5776

Demi’s voice is not holding up at all. She’s been complaining about it on twitter a lot. She needs to cut her set down and not do so many songs. Her voice gave out completely the last night and the fans sang the last song for her. We’re only five shows in. I don’t know how she’s going to do it, to be honest.

When David embarked on his solo tour in the Spring, he got sick right before opening night. He did a long set the first night, but on the next few nights he cut the number of songs to preserve his voice. Once he fully recovered from the cold/flu he added more songs back in and his endurance grew as the tour progressed.

Disney Dreaming review of Boston concert…

Then after a short break American Idol runner-up David Archuleta made a dramatic entrance and went right into all of his greatest hits we all know and love.

Aside from being in need of a serious haircut and being completely drenched with sweat, David was AMAZING. We immediately came home and purchased his album. We watched him on American Idol, but he is SO much better in real life! If he ever headlines a tour by himself it would be a MUST-SEE in our opinion.

His band was super fun and, while he may not have the most extreme stage presence, his voice makes up for it! He never missed a beat, or forgot the words to his song and he was just fantastic!

After a twenty minute intermission Demi Lovato performed. She opened up pretty strong, but as most of you know she has been complaining on Twitter about losing her voice most of the nights in the last week due to singing so much. Well, yet again, within three songs her voice was done for.

She forgot some lyrics to some of her super new songs (which is totally understandable, we would too!) and she didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t hit any of the high notes because of her voice (poor Demi!) but she was so fun, and smiled the entire time. She was dressed super cute and her hair looked perfect! After the audience helped her sing her hit song à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t Forgetà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ when she completely lost her voice, and had tears in her eyes, she said tonight was her favorite memory of the song. i happened to catch Vh1′s top 20 last night and 5 out of the 20 videos were from former idols – elliot, jordin, daughtry, david cook, and kelly.

that’s pretty good for AI, I’d say! hopefully come fall we will start seeing allison, kris and adam among those names!

i happened to catch Vh1à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s top 20 last night and 5 out of the 20 videos were from former idols – elliot, jordin, daughtry, david cook, and kelly.

Not to burst any one’s bubble but top 20 videos on VH1 are “voted” for by the fans on the VH1 website. And there seems to be a very good concerted effort in Idol fandom to get their “guy” on top of anything that requires voting, whether the material is good or not.

Since I am totally disillusioned about “voting” when it comes to AI and the fans I don’t give this top 20 thing much credence.

  • Tatiana

After watching that video, I think it’s insulting to David A. to expect him to open for Demi. Hopefully he can use those cancellations to his benefit – use those days to work on his next album, or book some solo gigs.

In hindsight, it’s a bummer he’s not opening for NKOTB this summer. At least those shows sell out and he’d reach a new audience. Alas, Jesse McCartney took that spot…

Well how many people are paying big bucks to see Britney lip synch and not particularly well. Well actually even Britney is not selling that well and no wonder, Word of Mouth indeed.

I don’t care how theatrical the show is, I ain’t paying a dime to watch anyone lip synch or at least do it well enough so I am not sure.

I saw Janet Jackson on tour and my sister and I had binoculars and given the level of dancing which was hot hot hot and the fact JJ had the flu, she had to sit on stool for five minutes in front of us to catch her breath and down some water and everyone just applauded her but we couldn’t catch her lips out of synch once and she was clearly adlibbing sections of her songs, you know having the albums and having memorized every word and note and album adlib, so there was probably a backing track just in case she missed here and there but we determined that her mike was otherwise live.

Indeed Tess and as someone who was part of a group who tried to get a video onto the VH1 Top 20, non Idol artist. We were just happy they had the video on their voting list at first. That is an achievement in and of itself.

VH1 just seemed determined not to show this video even when it did make the Top 20 based on votes, they just wouldn’t show it on the countdown. I don’t get VH1 but I was told by our American friends that they do not show all 20 videos, when they recount the Top 20, this was a few years back, and they would never play this one, mention it but not play it. Now that really sucks.

Money money money……….greasing palms……….not in this case I guess.

  • hwc

She was dressed super cute and her hair looked perfect!

Don’t forget that she smiled, too! Obviously a talented young lady.

Forgot her own lyrics. Lost her voice. Not to worry. She dressed super cute and her hair looked perfect.

And, we wonder why the music biz is in the dumpster. Maybe there’s hope. The last time the music industry tried to kill itself with a stream of fake TV show bands (the Monkees, etc.) we saw a period of intense trailblazing and creativity in pop music as rock turned to it roots of R&B, blues, and country.

Maybe when the last CD is sold and they are ready to turn out the lights, the record companies will try something unique — like promoting real music for a change.

  • SpenserJ

Well, just out of curiosity, I checked ticketmaster for the Tampa show of the Demi tour. There are still floor seats available. And, those vip packages that put you in the first 10 rows or whatever are also still available. They haven’t even sold out the floor after all this time. How the heck can they expect to fill the rest of the arena?

So, I suspect we’ll see a lot more cancellations. Or maybe they could switch some of these shows to smaller venues.

I just don’t think that Demi’s as popular as Miley was when she first started filling arenas. The phenomenon apparently doesn’t work just because you’re on a Disney show. Apparently, you have to have some other kid of appeal as well.

It’s a shame David didn’t get a better act to open for. Hopefully, he’ll find some other opportunities to perform in the downtime.

Jordin definitely got the better deal. The only seats left for the Jonas concert are the nosebleed seats.

  • Tatiana

hwc, you raise a good point. Doesn’t it usually take mainstream music to hit rock-bottom before something new comes out that gets people excited and reminds them what music can be? I’m thinking of how Nirvana came out in the early 90′s and obliterated the hair band era…

  • serenade

Interestingly enough, Boston Herald gave Demi a much more flattering review of her performances last night:

    http://news.bostonherald.com/entertainment/music/general/view/20090627teen_queen_demi_poised_for_brighter_spotlight/srvc=home&position=3

Teen queen Demi poised for brighter spotlight

But thereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a reason Lovato has gone from opening for the megapopular Jonas Brothers to headlining her own tour.

Besides her pop-ready look, feisty dynamic and prowess on the guitar and piano, Lovato has a versatile voice that alternates between smoky tones and endearing cuteness. Though it was occasionally taxed last night, it conveyed emotion well.

And sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s likable. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s mastered the balance between cute and mature, she admitted that sometimes she forgets the words to her own songs, and sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s still new enough to stardom to appreciate it.

It’s subjective. I can agree with this review but I haven’t made up my mind if I find her likable, especially when she keeps posting close-ups of her face on Twitter so her fans can tell her how pretty she is.

    David’s review from BH:

After a short set from girl group KSM – a modern-day version of The Bangles – à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“American Idolà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ runner-up David Archuleta kicked the fun into high gear.

    With a four-piece band, the sunny Archuleta showed off his à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Idolà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ -honed poise on songs including à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Touch My Hand,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ the bounce-worthy à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Zero Gravityà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ and his hit, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Crush.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

Sure, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a fantastic singer, but more important in the world of teen music, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s really, really cute.

Plus she finally has some people watching out for her now.

The Boston Herald wasn’t that positive:

There were just enough empty seats and lulls in the action at Agganis Arena last night to suggest that Disney-bred singer/actress Demi Lovato needs a bit more time and material under her belt to truly command a live arena show. But in a year or two, it should be a different story.

I want some of what the reviewer was smoking to think that a Disney pop tart is going to be around in a couple of years. Sheesh, a couple of years from now, puberty will hit and she’ll be washed up. There’s no “a couple of years” in teen pop.

  • Lisa

I also put this in the MJ thread from yesterday but thought maybe it was too far down. Please delete Mj if this is wrong place.

    From TMZ:

    Second Autopsy for Michael Jackson

A source close to the family of Michael Jackson tells TMZ the family has requested a second autopsy — and it is currently underway somewhere in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Coroner conducted an autopsy on Friday and while he said there was “no indication of foul play,” the official cause of death could not be determined.

Although the VH-1 countdown does count voting as part of its criteria, I suspect it is not the only factor there. VH-1 spins count as HAC spins, and a large number of the high-ranking videos are by artists that are beloved on HAC. Chart position, particularly on the format, is suspected to play a big role. Archie’s fans tried for weeks and weeks to get ALTNOY on the countdown but VH-1 never added it, probably because it never went for HAC adds or made the Top 40 or HAC charts.

VH-1 does include some pop artists on the CD, but I suspect the reason so many band and pop-rock solo artists do so well is because of the HAC connection. David Cook has done very well on there despite the fact that CBTM has not charted on Top 40, but I suspect it’s not just voting, but has a lot to do with his success on HAC.

ok, fair enough. vh1 top 20 isnt a completely representative sample of public opinion. i was just happy to see several of my favorite AI artists showing up.

in other news… if any of yall missed the MJ 20/20 special last night in which adam and kris were featured it looks like they are going to air it again tonight at 9/8 central

    http://abcnews.go.com/2020/

also, here is an extended version of Radar’s interview of adam. i think he might be my favorite interviewer after michelle collins. megan is really cute in this too. HOOPLA!

Check out Paula Abdul’s twitter! Ok…Who’s hoping some photos of Matt and Danny will surface?

    Here’s Paula’s tweet:

#speaking of last night…danny gokey and matt g. can really pole dance- who knew?! lol#29 minutes ago from mobile web

  • ladymadonna

Ummm, Pauler?? Have you forgotten Corey Clark so quickly? Methinks it would be best for you not to Tweet suggestively about the male Idol contestants no matter how smooth their moves may be.

    Also? Ick.

  • girlygirl

Here’s link to a brief audio clip of an interview Kris did for TV Week Magazine, which I guess is a Canadian magazine? It was based on questions fans sent in by twitter. Hopefully MJ can get the full interview, which is in the July 4th issue of the magazine…

Matt and Gorkey pole dancing. I can honestly say that I can’t imagine anything I would less want to see. I think I’m going to hurl.

Where’s Antonella Barba when we need her?

  • MB444

Fortunately for me I’m going to a David Archuleta solo show in Pittsburgh in July, so I don’t have to sit through Demi Lovato. Still, even if Demi isn’t going to be there, I’m getting nervous because of all the cancellations. I actually have VIP tickets this time!
I’m really happy for Syesha though. I thought she had so much talent and it just wouldn’t be right for her to disappear like many of the also-rans from American Idol. I wish her plenty of success; Dreamgirls will be a perfect fit for her.

Thanks for that, Jani – and for the link. She’s looking more comfortable now, and sounding good. Tsk – typical of tabloids and the like only to bring us the bad news. ;-)

Ha! I’d love to for these pics to surface. Danny and Matt are crazy. Actually, I’d like to see some video of that. lol.

I know Paula has a lot of baggage, and she can be annoying as a judge (but, then again, which judge is not annoying), but she does seem to genuinely care about the contestants. She seems to have a good heart, and I like that.

I just donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think that Demià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s as popular as Miley was when she first started filling arenas. The phenomenon apparently doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t work just because youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re on a Disney show. Apparently, you have to have some other kid of appeal as well.

I think we’re about to see a big lull in the whole tweener-pop thing. This girl starred in one of their biggest movies (Camp Rock) and just launched a popular new show on the Disney Channel. Disney radio plays her songs all the time. There was a time when Disney could have put her on a half arena tour and she would not have had any problems filling the place, even with the Jonas Brothers touring at the same time. Tours are something Disney can usually sell with no problem.

But this time its not working. Of course the economy is down, but the Jonas Brothers have definitely weakened and so has Miley. The JBs new show is only doing okay. Their new album opened much smaller than the last. The whole teen sensation thing goes in cycles I think, and I think this latest one may be on its way out for a little while until the next big thing comes along and starts the whole thing up again.

I don’t think it will effect Archie since he’s not a tweener act really. Just as long as his checks clear he’ll be fine.

  • wellhesback

Regarding tours – Looks like Cookie’s strategy of mostly smaller venues, where he and his band are the headliners, and the prices aren’t too outlandish, may be a really smart move. As David Cook is my fave AI performer, I hope he continues to be successful.

  • washpd

Anyone know if this is really Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ wifeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s twitter???

    twitter.com/katyallen1986

I doubt it. One of the pics she has posted is a wedding picture with the date of their wedding wrong. Could have been a typo, but that would be pretty odd. Also, she’s following a fake Adam.

ETA: This looks like Katy’s real twitter, based on the people following her, but she hasn’t posted to it since October of last year: http://twitter.com/katyallen

You can see that Kris’s mom is following her.

  • suebrody

Hoopla! Adam is fierce no matter what he wears, tho a traditional blazer, not so much. That Radar interview is hysterical, tho I feel rather badly for Megan, who is completely overshadowed by Adam. That said, she is such a good sport about it, and I am really looking forward to seeing her perform Amy Whinehouse on the Tour. What is Sarver singing? Oh, right, I don’t care.

Thanks to Kris and Adam, Bromance is alive and well in America. As well it should be. They really have to do some some vlogging during or after the tour. Kradam has impeccable timing and wit.

I was so hoping 20/20 would re-air. Thanks for posting the link.

I think Demi should open for Archie. IMO, *he’s* the one with the real talent. I’ve been reading for weeks that her shows have not been selling well.

Word on the street is that Adam and Kris are hoping to get some sort of MJ Tribute on the Tour (per E!Online interview). I wonder if all the Idols could sing Thriller? There wouldn’t be time for each of them to sing their MJ week songs, or course. I had hoped Adam would sing BoW instead of MW (and Kris could sing ANYTHING that was not NB), but neither seem to be he case.

    Pole dancing? Hm…

  • ozarka

Aside from being in need of a serious haircut and being completely drenched with sweat, David was AMAZING.

Funny how David and that reviewer think alike, based on his latest tweet:

I really need a haircut! But where to get a good one while on tour?? hmm..

Or maybe he read the review? LOL. On the contrary, a lot of people, including me, think his hair still looks fine just like it is. You be the judge. Here are a couple of shots from just a couple of days ago…
    Pic 1 and Pic 2.

  • gingerly

I don’t think Archie needs a haircut at all, but then I’ve always loved long hair on guys…as long as it isn’t a mullet.

  • twinkle

here is a link with the footage of kris and adam on the 20/20 special in case they dont re-air it.

I still think he needs a hair cut… LOL but im one of the few that does LOL

btw the ny, nj and boston shows looked packed!

    boston ZG:

couple of nice pics, this first one was way back high up in the stands:
    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eyP5LJez98k/SkVgEpb0-zI/AAAAAAAAASQ/9cH4ShtZ2Ck/s800/Boston3.jpg

neat shot from near the stage:
    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eyP5LJez98k/SkViyZesCkI/AAAAAAAAASg/A91LKef0TkM/s1600-h/Boston5.jpg

and they arent selling the seats right next to the stage and behind it either so those always look empty on camera.

  • serenade

David has a day off tomorrow (I think) so I expect a tweet about his latest haircut. lol But if it’s anything like the haircut he got right before the AI8 finale, we might not be able to tell the difference. Heh.

Re: Canceled Demi Tour Dates: I’m thinking the scheduling conflicts aren’t too far-fetched because she has so much on her plate with her TV show, her movies, etc. Disney might really need her free for something else on those dates. I find it hard to believe they wouldn’t try harder to get more tickets sold for a late August show when it’s almost two months away yet most of the dates in July are still on minus one.

  • frogcooke

the canceled dates are kinda of spaced out fairly even too, btw.

  • frogcooke

lol at some of the people calling ‘my hands’ ‘hold on’

must not of got the memo.. this was from newjersey.. neat crowd shot near the middle and end of the vid. I always love the ending to this song. heh

  • abbysee

I found nothing suggestive or naughty about Paula’s twitter….and if it were, she is not judging them now so if the pole was in her bedroom and they were slathered in oil it’s legal as they are all adults. I frankly would love to see the pix for the lol factor. She was just hanging out and having a nice time with the idol contestants. Doing what Paula does, being kind and nurturing.

Too bad David is not co-headlining this gig, he definitely should be, but this I feel is still a good gig for him because he will garner good reviews and will be able to hone his craft at the same time. I only see the positives in this situation for him. I also love his hair long, but it grows like ragweed, so he will need another cut in about a week, lol.

The NYT article is interesting. I love the fact that Adam and Kris can be and are so open about their admiration and affection. It’s definitely a new deal as most men just can’t get that close, period. Their bond is so adorable.

  • frogcooke

His hair grows really fast… LOL

btw.. he’s been sounding stronger and fuller(not really sure how to say it) in voice so far since the begining of the tour, its kinda crazy really.

  • Kris

I think it is a good gig too, abbysee. It is not as if David and Demi are performing in empty arenas. I believe David is performing in front of bigger audiences than he did on his own solo tour. And he is performing in front of new audiences that could be potential fans. He is getting to do what he loves to do. Plus he is able to do that without the pressure of being the headliner. That is a good deal.

  • http://idolstages.com Connie D.

    http://twitter.com/ddlovato

It really pisses me off that Demi never tweets about David.

She would do well to mention him sometime, and acknowledge that there is indeed an awesome opening act.

  • leome

I don’t know anything about Demi, but it probably sucks to see your opening act getting a golden plaque when your album hasn’t sold that many yet.

  • KathyH

Frog, I’ve noticed that about David A’s voice, too. He sounds a little richer, his lower range a little deeper. Can’t wait for my concerts!

Despite the problems surrounding this Demi tour, I’m also seeing the tour as an overall positive experience for David — he is performing in front of crowds larger than his headlining tour (many of whom were not already fans and might surely be won over.) He’s also honing his skills, making industry connections, etc.

I followed Demi for a bit on twitter and unfollowed. Not mad at her. Just realized I shouldn’t expect David-level graciousness from every young celebrity.

  • gemzone

Frogg I agree David is sounding better, deeper, richer or whatever you want to call it. He is changing up every song he sings. Every concert is different because he never sings his songs the same way twice. I don’t know how he does it but he does. I got to see him in Del Mar and he was spot on, on every song. The best I have seen him live. I get to see him two more times this summer. So looking forward to it. Just a few more weeks until I get to see him again. :clap_tb:

As for Demi it has to be hard to know that your opening act is better than you are. David opened for Mcfly over in the Uk and they seem to be as gracious as David. The Mcfly boys love David and are always tweeting him. They want him to come back to the UK. And David wants to so here is hoping that happens for him.
