…Im flattered, and I think it hilarious, Kris Allen told People.com recently, responding to the news that his former roommate and runner-up on …American Idol, Adam Lambert, had a crush on him.

Mr. Lambert, who favors black eyeliner and leather pants, had told Rolling Stone that Mr. Allen, an aw-shucks Christian from Arkansas, was …the one guy that I found attractive in the whole group on the show ‘  nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type ‘  except that he has a wife.

This all went down in the same interview in which Mr. Lambert finally confirmed the long-simmering rumor that, yep, he gay.

Sweat and determination at ‘American Idol’ audition at Cowboys Stadium

Denton resident Rachel Tillman couldn’t stop smiling as she moved toward the stadium entrance. “I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 10, and now that I’m off therapy I want to try to get back on track, ” says Tillman, 25.

After three brain surgeries and chemotherapy, the tumor ‘ once the size of an orange ‘ is now dime-size. “The rest of it is inoperable, ” says Tillman.

“It’s so intimidating, all the people and the wonderful talent here, ” she says. “But I guess my dreams are bigger than that. I’m just happy to be here.”

Syesha bound for ‘Dreamgirls’ tour

Local singing sensation Syesha Mercado will be touring the nation in a revival of the award-winning hit …Dreamgirls. The 22-year-old, who scored national attention on the seventh season of …American Idol, will play the role of Deena Jones. It the same role Beyonce Knowles portrayed in the 2006 film version. This new production will be directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom.

The …Dreamgirls tour will kick off at the acclaimed Apollo Theatre in Harlem, Nov. 7-Dec. 6, before hitting 13 other cities through June 2010.

‘American Idol’ finalists get ready to hit the road

Face to face at twin pianos, Matt Giraud and Scott MacIntyre strike the opening chords of “Don’t Stop Believin’, ” and playing in unison the two “American Idol” finalists start to sing the Journey classic.

They trade lines about small town girls and city boys, and as the song unfolds the rest of this year’s Top 10 Idols join in more or less in reverse order of their finish.

Michael Sarver and Megan Joy trade verses, then Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai, Allison Iraheta and Danny Gokey take their turns.

WHAT’S COOKING: On the Adult Contemporary chart’s sister survey, Adult Top 40, David Cook completes a feat previously achieved by only two solo males.

Cook collects his third top 10, as “Come Back to Me” lifts 11-10. His introductory single “Time of My Life, ” last year’s “American Idol” victory song, reached No. 7, and “Light On” peaked at No. 4. All three songs appear on Cook’s self-titled debut album, which bowed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in December and has sold 1, 174, 000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Only two other male soloists have notched at least three top 10s from an album in the Adult Top 40 chart’s 13-year history, and the previous two also did so from debut releases: John Mayer (three top 10s from “Room for Squares, ” 2002-03) and Rob Thomas (four top 10s from “…Something to Be, ” 2005-07).

Demi Lovato, David Archuleta cancel Aug. 17 Van Andel Arena show

GRAND RAPIDS — “Camp Rock”‘s Demi Lovato and special guest “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta have canceled their Aug. 17 concert at Van Andel Arena.

“We were informed by the promoter that there was a scheduling conflict, ” Rich MacKeigan, regional general manager for Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place.

Three dates were canceled, including Grand Rapids, he said.

Tickets can be returned for a full refund at the point of purchase.

“I know I’ve got a little girl who’s 8 who’s disappointed, ” MacKeigan said.

David Archuleta ‘Devastated’ by Michael Jackson’s Death

Just as Michael Jackson shot to fame at a young age, David Archuleta is in the beginning stages of his career while only a teenager. And like countless other peers and fans, the singer is already feeling the loss of the King of Pop.
“Im really devastated to see the loss of such an amazing and inspiring artist, ” Archuleta tells PopEater. “Michael Jackson has been one of the most influential artists to me and so many other people around the world.”
The ‘American Idol’ singer urges others to remember Jackson for his prolific contributions to the pop world. Archuleta says to PopEater, “While Im really sad to hear that he has passed, I hope that the people will now appreciate the amazing work he did and not focus on the hardships he faced.”

JORDIN SPARKS – JORDIN SPARKS SCARED OF KELLY KNOCKOUT

Jordin Sparks thinks Kelly Clarkson would beat her in a fight.

The ‘Battlefield singer’ – who won US TV talent show ‘American Idol’ in 2007, with Kelly triumphing in 2002 – admits she would have no hope if she became involved in an altercation with the 27-year-old singer.

Asked who won win in a tussle between her, Kelly and UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ winner Leona Lewis, Jordin replied: “Leona’s really sweet, I can’t imagine her trying to fight anybody, she’d be like, ‘Oh, it’s OK.’ I think Kelly could definitely kick some butt, she’s from Texas. I would try but then I would feel really bad so it wouldn’t count. Kelly would win.”

However, the 19-year-old singer insists it would take a lot for her to get involved in a fight as she prefers not to show her feelings in public.

Kid Rock dating ‘Idol’ star Pickler?

Rocker Kid Rock is secretly dating “American Idol” star Kellie Pickler, according to tabloid reports.

The hitmaker showed up at the recent CMT Video Awards in Nashville, Tenn., with ex-girlfriend Sheryl Crow, but he was really at the award show to be close to his new love, according to the Globe.

A source tells the publication, “The romance between Kellie and Kid has been the worst-kept secret in Nashville.”

Insiders claim Pickler was talking about Kid Rock when she recently told a radio interviewer, “I’m seeing someone. I got a man. He’s a great, great guy. We’ve been seeing each other for over a year.”

X Factor stars Journey South ‘hurt’ by Simon Cowell’s word

TEESSIDES X Factor stars Journey South have revealed they are deeply upset after sharp-tongued music mogul Simon Cowell said he was …disappointed with them as human beings.

Brothers Carl and Andy Pemberton have labelled Cowell remarks …very harsh but say they have now resolved the matter.

In an article for a national newspaper, music company boss and TV star Cowell was discussing the public backlash he received after the latest series of Britain Got Talent.

He went on to criticise what he called the …crop of bad losers from old X Factor and Britain Got Talent series.

The Journey South duo from Coulby Newham reached the final of the second X Factor series in 2005. But in 2007 they split from Cowell and his record label Syco/Sony BMG.
