SYTYCD and Cat Deeley!!! Love it!!

  • Kirsten

Yay for SYTYCD and Cat finally getting recognition in reality and host. They got a lot of love for their choreography.

Glee writers got ignored as they should be.

9 Nominations for American Idol – they deserve them after such a terrific year. I always like it when a Home visit gets nominated. They do a nice job on those.

  • Valentin432

Yeah for Cat! She has no chance of winning against those guys but at least she got recognized.

Very surprised (but happy) that SYTYCD got nominated for best reality show when Survivor or The Voice, two higher profile shows, were not.

Stacey Tookey, Travis and NapTabs deserve their nomination, can’t say the same about Mandy Moore.

  • YeahRight

Yay for Modern Family! 17 nominations with all six cast members getting in. Glad Ed O’Neill got nominated. I was really rooting for that one.

They’ll probably want to give Glee a big win somewhere so unfortunately, Colfer will probably win when it should be Burrell or O’Neill.

  • eyelinerandcigarettes

    OMG SCOTTY O.o

  • phil25

Happy to see the Idol nominations, and happy for Game of Thrones!

  • hoa_teca

Short Form Story Editing: Scotty’s Home Story

    Whoa!!!

  • sunny2

Does anyone know what happened in the nominated episode(1018) of AI?

So happy that Cat got nominated!

  • http://www.myspace.com/revolucj2006 revolucj2006

    BAZINGA!

    Comedy Actor:
    Steve Carell – The Office
    Alec Baldwin – 30 Rock
Jim Parsons – Big Bang Theory
    Matt LeBlanc – Episodes
    Louis C.K – Louie
Johnny Galecki – Big Bang Theory

Hmm, I wonder what the Roommate Agreement says about Dual Emmy Nominations?

One of these days Raj and Howard need to get a Supporting Actor nomination!

  • eyin

They’ll probably want to give Glee a big win somewhere so unfortunately, Colfer will probably win when it should be Burrell or O’Neill.

Isn’t that crazy? All six are nominated. I love it. If Colfer wins, they could blame vote-splitting among the four. But Colfer’s work is mostly drama, so I don’t know. I personally am rooting for a Stonestreet repeat. And Wiig will beat out the women.

Yay for SYTYCD! And FNL and The Good Wife. 5 of their cast got acting nods, with Michael J Fox being the 6th.

  • http://twitter.com/cara_lee pj

Go Connie Britton! Love, love, love her performances on FNL.

    And Yay for Cat!

  • YeahRight

Isn’t that crazy? All six are nominated. I love it. If Colfer wins, they could blame vote-splitting among the four. But Colfer’s work is mostly drama, so I don’t know. I personally am rooting for a Stonestreet repeat. And Wiig will beat out the women.

Yes, all six nominated. Love it. Too bad they couldn’t squeeze the kids in there.

The “experts” were saying vote splitting between the three Modern Family guys was going to cause a Colfer win last year, but Stonestreet ended up winning. A Stonestreet repeat would be nice, but Burrell and O’Neill have the tapes. But like I said, they’re probably going to want to give Glee a big win so they’re giving it to Colfer even though Glee is not a comedy and most of Colfer’s work is straight up dramatic. He’s committing category fraud.

Wiig’s got the buzz right now, thanks to Bridesmaids, but it should be between Vergara and Bowen. Modern Family should be sweeping the supporting categories.

  • Holden

I’m happy for “Glee.” I don’t know why “Community” got completely snubbed. That stinks.

  • Kirsten

Does anyone know what happened in the nominated episode(1018) of AI?

I think it was the Top 12 Men’s Night (that was the episode they submitted in that category)

Here was the Submission List we Extracted Way Back When

  • Nina1

Go Connie Britton! Love, love, love her performances on FNL.

Oh yes, gawd I love that show! I’m gonna sob on ending night. I’m also happy for the Good Wife and Modern Family, which I also love: The three best shows on network television, with, not surprisingly, some very strong female parts.

  • girlygirl

So so so happy that FNL finally got nominated as Best Drama…that’s way overdue. And yay for Kyle and Connie getting noms, too!

  • aislinn

I’m so happy that SYTYCD is finally being recognized! Cat Deeley is hands down the best host of any reality competition show out there, and there are some incredible choreographers nominated. From the list, it looks like they each had three submissions? I’m not sure I understand the choreography category, but the routines mentioned are almost all phenomenal.

  • stelladallas

Yay for Cat! And Jesse Tyler Ferguson should get some sort of emmy nomination next year for his hilarious contribution on last night’s SYTYCD!

For the drama categories, I hope Jon Hamm will finally get a much deserved emmy. His performances on Mad Men are stunning.

  • LexieN

You know, Scotty’s home visit was the most widely viewed video on youtube for the world…until it got yanked for copyright issues:) How cool for the nomination!!!

  • Truthiness

I’m so happy for Cat. Well deserved nom and she should totally win. Her or Tom Bergeron. And heck, I would take Ryan Seacrest over Jeff Probst…again! grrrr.

  • chearts77

Ha ha!! So, Scotty is indirectly nominated for an Emmy. Me likes!! :D If that one wins, does Scotty get anything? hee hee

  • http://youtube.com/user/ConcertCameraCat Sparkles

Happy to see the Idol nominations, and happy for Game of Thrones!

YES! I totally agree although Game Of Thrones deserved more nominations. I’ll be rooting for Peter Dinklage in Drama Supporting Actor as he was my fave on the show.

  • SajiNoKami

Just gonna say it, not a big fan of some of the camera work on the American Idol finale, cool they got nominated so much though.

  • TylerWV

Im surprised the Walking Dead didnt get more noms. I havent liked a tv show this much for years. Also liked the Killing. AMC has some great shows.

  • chrislongisland

YES! Cat deserves the nomination and the win, she really is the best host of them all.

As far as choreography, I would put Travis first for “Fix You”, Stacey second for “Mad World”, and NappyTabs third for “Outta Your Mind”.

  • sma11ie

I’m happy for Cat, FNL, Modern Family… sad for Community, etc.

Short Form Story Editing: Scotty’s Home Story

I am SUCH a sucker for those hometown visit videos. IIRC, David Cook’s home story won the Emmy his year. I wonder if it’s the same guy (Oren Castro).

  • Joyed

I am sooo happy for Cat – truly deserved!

I’m also happy Martha Plimpton got nominated for “Raising Hope” – that show was such a cute escape this last season.

I’m happy for Modern Family in the abstract – I somehow stopped watching the show! Maybe I’ll pick it up next season.

    sad for Community

Ditto. :( Whatever, that show wins for me!

  • RockiDreams

Hooray for Cat Deeley – about damn time. She is wonderful. I also see that Ballas is nominated for the Harry Potter theme based dance he did which was also fantastic. Nice to see Travis Wall nominated as well. I get tired of the same old same old nominated all the time. Good to see new very deserving people getting the nod.

  • Pam

I gotta admit it, Cat is a great host. She certainly deserves the Emmy nod. That’s so cool that Scotty’s hometown visit got an Emmy nod.

SYTYCD: Scars/Fallin/Outta Your Mind – Tabitha Dumo, Napolean Dumo

This one is well desrved too as is this one:

Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
Betty White – Hot in Cleveland

I have to admit I would love to see Betty win another Emmy. She’s still great after all these years. She hasn’t lost her comedic touch.

  • Grammie Kari

So good to see Cat finally receive a much deserved nomination! I hope she wins.

For Choreography… anyone but Mark Ballas. He might have a chance because the SYTYCD choreographers are competiting with each other.

I hope one of “our” shows wins Best Reality Competition. I really don’t understand how Idol can receive a sound mixing nomination. That is a general complaint against the show.

  • Daniel B

Never really watched or cared about the Emmys before, but… Go Game of Thrones! That show is made of awesome, and Dinklage is amazing – seeing my favorite fiction come to life on screen and do so well helps to lift my spirits from watching my favorite Idol winner of all time, David Cook, who has (IMO) a bad single and a great album and underwhelming sales going on right now (just seems so unfair…)

But Game of Thrones is amazing, (it has to be; fantasy shows *do not* get nominated for awards, period, ever, so it’s incredible that it would overcome that bias). Hoping it wins every category it was nominated for (especially best drama and best supporting actor for Dinklage)

  • Kirsten

IIRC, David Cook’s home story won the Emmy his year. I wonder if it’s the same guy (Oren Castro).

Cook’s was edited by Bill DeRonde, and Oren Castro (and it did win).

    Here are Idol’s past wins:

Outstanding Art Direction For Variety, Music Or Nonfiction Programming – 2009
Outstanding Directing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Series – 2009
Outstanding Lighting Direction (electronic, Multi-camera) For Variety, Music Or Comedy Programming – 2009
Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Series – 2009

Outstanding Picture Editing Of Clip Packages For Talk, Performance, Award Or Reality Competition Programs – 2008

Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Special – 2007

Let’s see if it can regain the momentum the show had in S8.

    Excited for icarly and glee

I live AI to death but I’m surprised it got more than one Emmy mom this yr

  • Axxxel

@YeahRight. Chris Colfer doing category fraud ? Fault of the writers, giving him too much drama-stuff to act in a dramedy. Or maybe there should be a new category… for the dramedies ???

I wonder which episode Colfer will submit.. whether it is “Grilled Cheesus” or “Never been kissed”. I don’t think “Born this Way” really shows his acting chops. I would prefer “Grilled Cheesus” though because it has nothing to do with the gay bullying story (so no political pity trip), but his “kiss” alone in “Never been kissed”, and the fact that the bullying continued after that scene is really touching to me.

Really would love to see him win, but maybe one of the Modern Family guys will obtain the trophee.

Don’t understand why Jane Lynch got nominated. Or maybe because it is only based on one episode (Funeral maybe ) ? Because Sue Sylvester was really terrible in Season 2.

And hooray for Ryan Seacrest…hopefully he will win.
