Daughtry has been added to the line -up of the Country Music Awards.

Now, before you go all WTF, consider that country music artist, Vince Gill, made a guest appearance on Daughtry’s lastest album, Leave this Town to sing harmonies on “Tennesee Line”

Gill will join Chris Daughtry and his band on stage at the CMA’s to perform the country-flavored tune.

Carrie Underwood will be on double-duty that night–co-hosting the show with Brad Paisley, as well as performing a tune from her album, Play On, set to be released November 3.   Carrie is also up for two awards. Carrie was nominated in the Female Vocalist category, and her duet with with Randy Travis, ‘I Told You So’ , was nominated for Musical Event of the year.

The CMA Awards will air on ABC, November 11.

I love the song “Tennesse Line”. Chris Daughtry has a really neat quality to his voice when he sings ballads. I’ve gone away from the country genre in the last few years, but my husband and daughter still listen avidly, so I’m sure I’ll see this perfomance.

So what’s happened to the Rock Gawd??? Now he’s trying country?

I’m so excited for this! What an honor to perform with a Country superstar like Vince Gill.

Chris can sing any genre well.

Jon Bon Jovi was a rock god for over 20 years when he decided to take a crack at country (and went on to win a Grammy for it). Nothing wrong with what Chris is doing. Exited to see this!

Very exciting day…week actually for Daughtry fans!! I love Tennessee Line and one of the things that I love about Chris and the band is that they do whatever they feel like and whatever moves them when it comes to their music…they don’t suscribe to the labels or try to fit into any mold. They can totally rock…I’ve witnessed it many times and they can definitely work ballads and country as well.

I absolutely can’t wait for this performance!! It’ll probably be the only time we get to see it live as it is on the CD.

The only thing more “shocking” than a “rawk gawd” singing a cover is a “rawk gawd” singing country, LOL. Where the hell did all these rules come from that artists aren’t allowed to cross genres? Johnny Cash must be spinning in his grave (again!).
