Evidently, the Mavid shenanigans involved “Patty Cake, Patty Cake” tonite

Can’t wait for the videos!

I read somebody’s recap of the show and thought this was pretty funny…

…Then was David Cook who by far, out of the people I saw had the most entertaining show by interacting with the audience a lot. He kept throwing guitar picks and even threw out his water bottle into the audience. Someone had a sign that said ‘Free the Gnomes’ and he asked them what that was about and they were just like ‘free the gnomes’ to which he responded ‘ok, Free the Gnomes everybody!’. Later he was singing and took a girl’s phone and sang into the phone while on stage. I’m sure the girl on the other line was freaking out. Last everyone came out to sing ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ and you could totally see Michael Johns’s funny side. Him and David Cook did this patty cake hand clap during the song and then when Effie (David Archuleta) did a little dance Michael poked fun at him by copying Effie behind Effie’s back. It was all in good fun though. You could totally understand why everyone voted him funniest because he definitely was. Really made me wish that I had not missed his set. At the very end David Cook took the Gnomes poster and held it up on stage, said his little thanks for coming, poptarts product placement, and then said ‘and remember Free the Gnomes’ and took the poster as he went down under the stage on the lift…

Part of that is the poor sound quality of the recording (going in and out), but yeah, he sounds tired. It figures since he had to travel to NYC super early on Friday morning, record, and then travel to Lexington super early Saturday morning to make the concert for that night. No matter how you cut it, he can’t have gotten more than a few hours sleep in the last couple of nights. He has 2 more shows before another break, and unfortunately, that break will be an all-day video shoot in Atlanta. No rest for Archie.

LMAO, I attended the AI3 concert with a certain woman who was wearing a “Free the Gnomes” t-shirt. I’m glad to see that she hasn’t given up on this very important cause and that Cookie also supports the gnomes.

Re Effie. I am sure that he got the monniker because he sang You’re Gonna Love Me to the first American Idol group during season 1. Effie is the name of the character from Dreamgirls who sang the song. Funny, Effie, lol.

I’m dizzy after watching the beginning of that PDSTM video! At least the Mavid part was good.

Here’s a video where some edited photos and short video clips of each set. They have PDSTM but it focuses on the other side of the stage so you can’t see the Mavid dance. Lol at MJ mocking Archie’s jumping. You can see Cook hold up the “Free the Gnomes” sign at the end.

Kathryn – I’ve added the patty cake to the Mavid video with kids singing the song but I’ll probably wait to upload version 9.0 until after Atlanta. I can’t wait to see what they do the next two nights! I am soooooooo addicted, too.
