More ‘American Idol’ Finale Performers Revealed

A production source tells The Hollywood Reporter that in addition to U2’s Bono and The Edge (who are performing with the cast members from Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark), show judge Steven Tyler will be singing onstage.

And, he’ll be in good company. According to the source, the Aerosmith frontman will be joined by Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga and Beyonce who will perform a group medley along with contestants Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.

American Idol 10 – The Final! What Should the Idols Sing?

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will sing 3 songs on tonight’s American Idol final

We know the names of the singles Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will sing tonight and release on Thursday, Scotty’s song is called “Love You This Big” and Lauren will sing a Kristy Lee Cook cover, “Like My Mother Does”.

We also know that Carrie Underwood picked a song for Lauren Alaina (A song Carrie had wanted to sing during her run on Idol) and George Strait for Scotty.

The third song will be picked by Scotty and Lauren from the songs they have already performed in Idol competition.

Jason Castro: Exclusive Interview!

I got a chance to speak with Jason Castro on the phone as he was waiting to board an airplane to Los Angeles where he’s set to join 14 other Idol alums for a concert and meet & greet at the Nokia Theater—a pre-final bash sponsored by AT&T.

I spoke with Jason about the new single he’s about to release to Christian radio, his next album, and the big change coming in his life-he and his wife Mandy are expecting a baby girl in August!

Elliott Yamin: Exclusive Interview!

I got a chance to speak with Elliott Yamin by phone on Monday about his new album and more, as he gets ready to join 14 fellow Idol alums in a pre-final concert bash, Tuesday May 24 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, sponsored by AT&T.

It’s been two years since the release of Elliott Yamin’s last album, Fight For Love and he vows not to let so much time pass between albums. He spent the early part of this year in Japan promoting an album, Gather Round that was produced especially for the Japanese market. Now he’s hard at work on a version of his album to be released in the United States and he could not be more excited.

Jennifer Hudson Sings Hallelujah

Jennifer Hudson is in Australia promoting the release of her album, I Remember Me. In a Ustream live chat last night, Jennifer performed an impromptu rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. It’s really quite beautiful.

  • The winners of Dancing With The Stars appear on Live with Jimmy Kimmel ABC
  • Kimberley Locke performs at 36th annual Gracie Awards Gala, Beverly Hilton Hotel, sponsored by the Alliance for Women In Media (AWM).
  • David Cook performs “Don’t You Forget About Me” live on tonight’s Idol final 8 pm FOX. The Glee finale follows at 9 pm. And on NBC, it’s The Voice at 10 pm (So much TV, so little time…)
  • Fifteen former Idols have partnered with AT&T for an Idol reunion outside of the Nokia Theater where they will perform a special concert and do meet and greets before the final show. 1 pm PST

@IdolsNow: Matt Rogers will be reporting from SCOTTY McCREERY’s hometown of Garner NC on the “American Idol” finale Wednesday night. (Mikalah Gordon will be hosting Lauren’s hometown party in Chattanooga)
