Dermot O’Leary dances in!

The judges enter the studio.

Misha B – Dancing In The Street

Misha B survived the bottom 2 last week and met Justin Bieber.
Misha sings and owns the stage as usual. Good performance, but the song is a bit boring. Solid performance.

Louis: Misha B in the semifinal. You are original, you are authentic, I want Manchester to vote for you, you deserve to be in the final.
Tulisa: I think you had better performances, but I think this performance will get you to the final.
Gary: This is why I wanted this job. Thank you for making this experience a positive one.
Kelly: Fantastic job tonight, mama.

Amelia Lily – Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

Amelia is a fan of JLS and One Direction! She is striving to achieve her dreams!
Oh, I think this was good.

Louis: I love you! Pop star potential, pick up your phone, you remind me of Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson, only 17 years old, please vote for Amelia!
Tulisa: You brought Motown to life this week! If that doesn’t get you to the final, I don’t know what will!
Gary: You are a rock singer, not a soul singer, but how wrong was I! You keep coming back, you did really well tonight, Amazing performance!
Kelly: Motown, Amelia Lily, on fire tonight! You sound amazing!

Little Mix – You Keep Me Hanging On

Girls attended Hugo premiere in London. Saw Prince Charles and Camilla.
Umm, this could be better. A lot better! It sounds and looks rough.
Did one of them forget the words? Eeek.

Louis: There was something missing, It’s like you lost mojo. I wasn’t impressed.
Kelly: I’ve seen you give better vocal performances.
Gary: Perri is the best singer in this band, she should be featured more.
Tulisa: Little Mix represent 4 individuals, blah, blah, blah…

Marcus Collins – My Girl

Robbie Williams drops by and offers Marcus some advice.
Marcus smiles … and sings “My Girl”. How appropriate for a gay man to sing this song. Brilliant song choice. Well, this was just okay for me.

Louis: Marcus, little soul boy from Liverpool, you never let us down, I hope you get the votes for the final.
Tulisa: Not a great song choice for this stage of the competition, but well done.
Kelly: A bit of a rough start… You sounded beautiful, congratulations.
Gary. This was made for you, Motown week. Authentic, smooth, fantastic. I’m so proud of you.

Misha B – Perfect

She entered the X Factor because she wants to be a successful recording artist.
Misha sings Pink’s recent hit. It’s heavily re-arranged and slowed down and I don’t love the chorus in this. The verses are great. Hey, at least she made it her own.

Louis: To make it in the music business, you have to stand out. You stand out from the crowd, you have to make it to the final because of your major talent.
Tulisa: That was really emotional performance. When you leave competition, you can sell records.
Gary: You’ve been wrongfully accused in the past of being someone you are not. Even if you are lucky enough to get through tomorrow night, I don’t think you can win this competition.
Kelly: You are a star.

Amelia Lily – I’m With You

The comeback kid!
This was AMAZING!

Louis: That is the X Factor. The best vocal performance of the night. Natural talent!
Tulisa: One of my favorite songs of all time. You sang it like you were telling a story. Well done!
Gary: It wasn’t the vocal performance of the night. It was a good performance. Your shouting voice is great, but you need to work on your softer voice.
Kelly: 17 is just a number, because your pipes are so powerful and so beautiful, you use them incredibly well.

Marcus Collins – Can You Feel It

Ugh. Another typical performance from Marcus, Vocally not amazing. So middle of the road.

Louis: You’ve been one of the most consistent performers this season. Something was missing for me. It was the wrong song.
Tulisa: This wasn’t one your best performances at all.
Kelly: It wasn’t one of your best vocal performances.
Gary: That was amazing!

Little Mix – If I Were A Boy

Wow, the beginning was really rough. It gets better once the blonde, Perri, takes over.

Louis: I remember 10 years ago on a TV show like this, Girls Aloud were born and there is something about you that reminds me of GA with a little bit of Sugababes. You’ve got amazing potential. I would love to see you in the final. It wasn’t perfect.
Kelly: I absolutely love you.
Gary: For a semifinal act these vocals just aren’t good enough tonight.
Tulisa: I want everyone to vote for Little Mix.

Justin Bieber and Kelly Rowland perform tomorrow night.

MY OPINION: After watching all performances again on Youtube … Yep, I think Kelly’s girls outperformed Marcus and Little Mix. I still expect likeable, but bland hairdresser from Liverpool to win the whole thing. That’s just the way it is, mediocre, bland guys usually win shows like these and then go on to flop a year later.

My rankings:
Amelia Lily
Misha B
Marcus Collins
Little Mix
