We are starting tonight’s show with the overs. Right now, Bill Downs, Slavko Kalezic, Gary Barker, Berget Lewis, Glenroy Grant and Loverine Fermino sit on the Nicole’s 6 chairs. But there are 4 more contestants waiting to perform. The round concludes tonight with Louis Walsh and the boys.

Last night’s show ended with Nicole sending home Talia Dean after giving a seat to Loverine Fermino. The rest of the judges and the audience didn’t take it well. The audience demands her return. Kevin Davy White is the next contestant to perform, but the audience won’t shut up. So Nicole sends him backstage and asks stagehands to bring Talia back. Nicole has decided to give Talia a seat. Bill Downs is OUT.

Kevin Davy White – Is This Love (Bob Marley)
29 year old musician from Paris. He delivers solid vocal and he definitely makes the song his own. The audience loved it. Simon likes his rawness and recommends Nicole to give him a seat. Louis calls him a real artist and true musician. He also thinks Kevin should get a chair. Nicole says she doesn’t think this was Kevin’s strongest audition, but says he deserves a seat hands down. Gary Barker is OUT.

Jon Lilygreen – Baby You Know (original song)
29 year old musician from Newport, South Wales. I believe this is the first time we are seeing him. He is another white guy with guitar. I’m not feeling the song, to be honest. Sharon says the original song ‘worked for him’. Nicole says she respects him as a musician, but she has no more open seats. She decides to give him a seat anyway. Sharon would sent home Berget Lewis! Nicole sends home Loverine Fermino and the audience is unhappy again.

Matt Linnen – Stop Me (Mark Ronson feat. Daniel Merriweather)
28 year old plasterer from Essex. He ditched the guitar for this performance. He has decent stage presence. His raspy vocal is in good form. Sharon says he has great potential and would give him a seat. Lois agrees. Nicole praises his performance and decides she is giving him a seat. Glenroy Grant is OUT.

USA/Worldwide

Tracy LeAnne Jefford – You Don’t Own Me / Misty Blue (Grace / Etta James)
She starts singing ‘You Don’t Own Me’ and she sounds really bad. Simon stops her and Tracy sings the same song again acapella. It’s still not working and Simon says to the other judges ‘Not good enough’. Nicole is not happy with her performance and asks for another song. Tracy starts singing ‘Misty Blue’. This sounded better, but I’m not impressed by her in any way. Simon says this was better and deserves a chair. Nicole says Tracy has potential and decides to give her a seat. Jon Lilygreen in OUT. The audience booos.

Kevin Davy White
Zlatko Kalezic
Matt Linnen
Berget Lewis
Talia Dean
Tracy LeAnne Jefford

We continue with Louis Walsh and the boys. Simon is mocking Louis who says he is going to take ‘the best people’.

Lloyd Macey – Feel Like Home (Edwina Hayes)
24 year old student from The Valleys, South Wales. Simon previously asked him to pick his songs more carefully – for his audience. So, Lloyd picked a ballad, because he knows Louis made a fortune with boybands singing ballads. The audience seems to be enjoying it. Simon says Lloyd is like a comfortable blanket. He thinks Lloyd should get a seat. Sharon says there is always room for a classic singer. Louis sees his improvement. He is not sure if Lloyd has star quality, but he is getting the first seat.

USA/Worldwide

Leon Mallett – Closer (The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey)
22 year old pub singer from Norwich. He originally auditioned with his brother Alex as a duo, ITG. The judges broke up the duo in bootcamp. He broke his ankle while playing football. He sings a rather basic version of the Chainsmokers’ hit. He inserts a rap after the chorus. To be honest, he is not much of a singer. Simon says Leon came alive on his own. He praises his delivery and connection with the audience. Nicole says Leon has the whole package. Louis agrees. However, he thinks there are better people coming up. He gives a chair to Leon anyway.

USA/Worldwide

Alex Mallett – She Said (Plan B)
18 year old singer from Norwich. He originally auditioned with his brother Alex as a duo, ITG. He seems to be a slightly better singer than Leon. He also seems to be well received by the audience. Sharon says he held his own, but needs more confidence. Louis says Leon had something more than Alex. He says there was no spark for him and sends Alex home. Eh. I think both brothers Mallett are kinda average. Was it worth it splitting their duo? No.

USA/Worldwide

Anthony Russell – You Are So Beautiful (Joe Cocker)
He is wearing a suit for the occasion. He makes the audience laugh. Can he handle the nerves?
Anthony delivers a nice rendition of this classic song, but he is not a standout. Simon feels like ‘they’ve lost Anthony’. Nicole disagrees. Louis says the audition wasn’t perfect, but he is a diamond in a rough. He then decides to give Anthony a seat.

USA/Worldwide

Spencer Sutherland – Don’t Cha (The Pussycat Dolls)
24 year old singer from Ohio, USA. Welp, he is covering The Pussycat Dolls and he is not changing any pronouns. Nicole and Louis seem to be enjoying it. Nicole says she loved it. Simon found it a bit corny, but praises his voice. Louis says he is disappointed by the audition, he says Spencer oversang. The audience wants a seat for Spencer. I don’t know what substance Louis is on, but he gives Spencer a seat anyway.

UK/Worldwide

USA/Worldwide

Enesi Zubairu – Human Nature (Michael Jackson)
20 year old shop assistant from Kent. He delivers a nice, but not outstanding rendition of a Michael Jackson classic. Louis praises his performance and decides to send him home. So, Spencer supposedly oversang, but got a chair, while Enesi got praised by Louis and sent home? Where is the logic?!

UK/Worldwide

USA/Worldwide

Benji Matthews – Daydreams (original song)
17 year old college student from Cornwall. He wrote this song for his grandparents, who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Simon didn’t like the song – he thinks it was sentimental and corny and not current enough for a 17 year old. Sharon loves everything about Benji. Louis wonders if Benji would be able to handle the pressure on Saturday night. He decides to give him a seat.

UK/Worldwide

USA/Worldwide

Gregor Coleman – Yellow (Coldplay)
24 year old busker from Glasgow. He another guy who can hold a tune, but is otherwise very unremarkable. Simon says he thought Gregor’s chances of getting a chair were practically zero, but he changed his mind. Nicole is completely blown away by the performance and would also give him a seat. Louis loved the song and performance, but he has only one chair left. He decides to give Gregor a seat.

UK/Worldwide

USA/Worldwide

Aidan Martin – Point of No Return (original song)
27 year old barman from London. He auditioned with another original song ‘Punchline’ and he wrote ‘Point of No Return’ about the same person. I’m not sure about the song, but the audience seems to like it. Sharon says Aiden ‘gets her’ every time he performs. Louis says Aiden is ‘so honest’, but he has no seats left. Louis decides to give Aiden a seat. Leon Mallett is OUT. The judges and the audience go completely crazy, as Leon walks out on crutches. The audience continues chanting and Louis decides to bring Leon back. Gregor Coleman is OUT. This is brutal.

USA/Worldwide

Russell Jones – Fool In Love (Tina Turner)
25 year old nursing home singer from Wales. He forgets the name of his song right before the performance. His cover of ‘Fool In Love’ sounds really dated and cabaret. Simon thought the performance was terrible and weird. Sharon says he looks like a deer in the headlight. She says his song choice was very flat. Louis decides to send him home.

UK/Worldwide

USA/Worldwide

Jack Mason – Raise Up (Andra Day)
18 year old busker from Aldershot. He delivers strong vocals. He is oversinging a bit, but I’m not sure Louis is going to notice it. Based on the standard of the 6 singers sitting on those chairs, Jack is getting a seat. The audience demands a seat for Jack. Sharon loves Jack and says he deserves a seat. Simon says he felt a real connection with the audience and predicts one of the 6 singers on the chair will be losing their seat. Louis decides to give him a seat.

Louis decides to have a sing off between Spencer Sutherland and Benji Matthews.

Spencer Sutherland – A Change is Gonna Come (Sam Cooke)

Benji Matthews – If I Ain’t Got You (Alicia Keys)

The boys sing and Louis decides to call another singer, Lloyd Macey.

Lloyd Macey – Start a Fire (John Legend, from La La Land)

Louis decides to send home Benji Matthews. The crowd booos. Sharon is very upset. Louis says he is happy with his decisions. I don’t know, is it just me or did Louis have a singoff between three strongest singers in his category? I would send home Anthony or Leon.
