On Friday and Saturday (Oct 13 & 14), the celebrity judges on ABC’s American Idol reboot visited New Orleans. Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie were in NOLA at Mardi Gras World for the judges auditions.
Mardis Gras World is a museum that offers tourists the opportunity to see firsthand what it takes to bring Mardi Gras to life year after year, including a peek at an operating workshop that has created floats for Mardi Gras and other parades around the world since 1947.
During the judges’ time in New Orleans, American Idol took to the French Quarter to tape a Mardis Gras parade. The trio rode an American Idol float and tossed beads to a crowd (casted by On Camera Audiences!). Check out the video below. There’s a brass band, dancers and Katy wearing feathers! Note: Ryan Seacrest is nowhere to be found.
Next weekend, Katy Perry has a concert in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena. Fans with tickets to her concert can audition at a pop up audition table inside the arena. Judges auditions will be taking place in the city at some point. Next weekend seems to be as good a time as any, with Katy schedule to be in town and all…
