The second stage of bootcamp continues.

Sean and Conor Price – Madcon – Beggin’ / Ed Sheeran – Sing
The boys tell Nicole that they will be singing Madcon’s song. We see them perform and judges don’t like it. Simon stops them and asks them why they picked the song. Nicole asks them to do something else. And they are doing Ed Sheeran now. Well, that’s always a safe song choice, especially for an act like Brothers Price. The audience likes it. I personally don’t see or hear much of a difference between the two performances, but perhaps the audience reaction will please Simon? Louis, Sharon and Nicole all praise them and even Simon is positive as they deliberate. The judges decide to send them to the 6 chair challenge.

SJ Hill – I Can’t Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt)
Simon slams him for bad stage presence and being karaoke. Judges send him home.

Jack Mason – It’s A Man’s Man’s World (James Brown)
This is the first time we are seeing him. He is 18 and comes from Aldershot. He sang Martina McBride’s ‘Anyway’ at his audition. He is just OK, but has some nice moments with the song. I would say this was good for somebody that likely doesn’t have much vocal training, but otherwise not outstanding. The audience likes him. He is through to the 6 chair challenge.

The Cutkelvins – Get Down On It (Kool and The Gang)
Shereen sings the lead vocals, the performance clip is interrupted by some pre-recorded comments. Simon didn’t like it, but Nicole thinks they made the song fresh and relevant. They are through to the next round.

Gary Barker – Tennessee Whiskey (Chris Stapleton)
Gary is serving some really nice vocals. He says he is doing the show for his children. He is through to the next round.

Holly Tandy – Sign Of The Times (Harry Styles)
She is celebrating her 16th birthday. She is the youngest contestant in the competition this year. Sharon says she can sing, but doesn’t know her genre. She is through to the 6 chair challenge. The audience sings ‘Happy Birthday’ to her.

Sam Black – Runaway (Del Shannon)
He struggled in the previous round and he wants to do better in this one.
His stage presence on the big stage sucks. Simon stops his performance because he doesn’t like the song choice. Sharon thinks he isn’t good enough. Simon asks him to slow down the song. He starts singing again acapella. The audience wants him to go through. But the judges send him home. Sam then proposes to his girlfriend on the big stage. She says YES.

Berget Lewis – A Song For You (Donny Hathaway)
She sings a nice, stripped down version of the song. Sharon points that out to the other judges. She is through to the 6 chair challenge.

Karen Kennedy – Chains (Tina Arena)
She is 42 and she’s been trying to have a career for the last 27 years. She is a singer in clubs and holiday parks. She auditioned with Beyonce’s ‘Listen’ and she sounded like a good karaoke singer in her audition.
On the big stage, Karen comes across like a club singer. She can sing fine, but I don’t think she can make it big. Simon stops her performance. He says to the other judges that Karen probably can’t compete with the other contestants in her category. The judges decide to send her home. She begs for another chance, but Simon refuses to give in. The crowd boos him.

Jordan Rabjohn – Souvenir (original song)
He sang Shawn Mendes’ ‘Treat You Better’ in the previous round and barely got through. So he is now doing another original song (He sang ‘Mexico’ at his audition.). It sounds decent. Nicole says his vocals went south on the chorus. They send him home.

El’Tee – Search and Seek (original song)
He is 20 and from Essex. He is current and hip than Jordan, but I’m not impressed. Simon says the song is not good enough. Sharon thinks he is not ready, but Nicole likes him. They send him home. The audience boos.

Benji Matthews – Sweet (original song)
He is 17, from Cornwall. He sang Alicia Keys’ ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ at his audition. His original song was inspired by characters on British soap The Eastenders. It sounds like something ready to be recorded. The audience is feeling it. I think this guy will get through. The judges give him a standing ovation and send him to the 6 chair challenge. Benji wrote and produced the song himself.

Georgina Panton – Sweet Dreams (Beyonce)
She says she has some problems with her vocals. Despite that, Georgina delivers a nice performance. This is her first professional performance and the audience is responding to her really well. She gets a standing ovation from the judges. Simon compliments her vocal control. The judges send her to the 6 chair challenge.
