This season’s auditions are over and we are moving on to bootcamp. Like last year, the contestants will get to rush to the wall on the other side of the room to find a good song choice for themselves. 35 different songs will be offered on the wall, each repeated 4 times. The 4 contestants with the same song choice will then have to practice together and perform for the judges. Get ready for some drama.

This year’s bootcamp takes place at SSE Arena, aka Wembley Arena. Dermot says this is where the hard work really starts. The first stage of bootcamp is The Wall of Songs. 35 songs, each on 4 cards. Song choice is everything! Dermot is singing the songs to undecided contestants who are not familiar with the songs. LOL. The contestants rehearse all night.

Kevin Davy White, Tommy Kendall, Rebecca Kelly, Anthony Russell
Song Choice: The Beatles – Let It Be
First we see Anthony Russell. By the way, Anthony dropped out of the competition this past week. We are seeing Rebecca Kelly for the first time. Simon said NO to her at the auditions. She is having trouble remembering the lyrics.
Kevin sounds great on his part, Tommy also does well on his solo. The group chorus isn’t great. Rebecca isn’t great and Anthony is OK, but his style of singing is kinda annoying and forced. Kevin and Anthony are through to the next round.

We see a group singing Whitney’s ‘Dance With Somebody’. And another group flopping with Jackson 5’s ‘Want You Back’. They all go home.

Brad Howard, El’Tee, Elysa V and Sam Black
Song Choice: Bruno Mars – Locked Out Of Heaven
Sam is really stressed in rehearsal. The pressure really got him.
El’Tee sounds terrible. Simon says it’s not working and asks them to sing the song solo a capella. Sam Black looses his voice. The judges put all of them through. Simon says it’s their last pass because they behaved well.

Taliah Dalorto, Georgina Panton, Peter Warwick, The Cutkelvins
Song Choice: Marvin Gaye – Ain’t No Mountain High Enough
The Cutkelvins and Georgina get re-introducton. Peter sucks. Taliah sings a bit. Everyone but Peter gets through.

Harry Davidson, Scarlett Lee, Jack Smith and Daniel Quick
Song Choice: One Direction – History
Over-tanned Scarlett serves big vocals. Harry and Daniel sound weird. Harry, Scarlett and Daniel are through.

Charlie Cammish, Riley Peters, Jack Morgan, New Dynamixx, Rak-Su
Song Choice: Bruno Mars – 24K Magic
Rak-Su do well on their part. Riley and Jack are sent home.

Chloe Rose Moyle, Karen Mullan, FAE, Holly Tandy
Song Choice: Elle King – Exes & Oh’s
Holly sounds great. We see girlband FAE for the first time. Everyone advances to the next round.

Aidan Martin, Liia, Caroline Widdows, Jodie Woolcott
Song Choice: Clean Bandit ft. Zara Larsson – Symphony
Nobody wants to sing the chorus. Jodie has a lot of confidence, but average voice. Liia just isn’t good enough for a soloist. Caroline also isn’t great. Aidan does OK. Overall, it’s messy. Jodie and Aidan are through to the next round.

Ginny Lemon, Doctor Woof, Russell Jones, Descendance
Song Choice: Dead Or Alive – You Spin Me Round
This group rehearses in a club. Or is it a bar? They come together in the morning for a rehearsal.
Ginny Lemon claims mother-daughter duo caused trouble. Russell sounds fine on his part. Descendance are messy. Ginny Lemon and Doctor Woof are … well … bad joke acts. Simon says the performance was hideous. The judges put Russell Jones through to the next round. Simon says the daughter should stay in the competition as a soloist. The mother cries and struggles to let her daughter go solo. After the commercial break we see them back on stage. Mother finally lets her daughter go solo.

Natalie Lomax, Alisah Bonaobra, Rai-Elle Williams, Gaga Lord
Song Choice: Mariah Carey – We Belong Together
Four strong female singers are singing Mariah Carey. But not one of her classic ballads. Rai-Elle does OK, but this isn’t her style. Gaga Lord sounds weird. Alisah also does fine. Judges put Rai-Elle Williams through. Alisah is in tears. This probably woudn’t be her preferred Mariah Carey song to sing, but all things considered, she did fine with it. She doesn’t want to go home and wants another chance. She sings and Simon gives in.

Deanna, Chelsea, NQ, Rebecca Grace
Song Choice: Beyonce – Love On Top
NQ are a girlband. Rebecca screams out her part. Deanna isn’t great, but she handles the song better.
Deanna and NQ advance.

USA/Worldwide

Grace Davies, Lloyd Macey, Gregor Coleman, Spencer Sutherland
Song Choice: James Arthur – Say You Won’t Let Go
Grace struggles to stand out in vocal coaching.
The performance goes by with no major disasters. Simon says this was one of the better groups. Grace Davies and Spencer Sutherland step forward. But all 4 singer advance to the next round!

Time for the next round! The contestants will be singing solo in front of the judges and the audience.

Matt Linnen – If I Were a Boy (Beyonce)
Acoustic guitar, raspy vocals and a good looking face. He sounds a bit unsure in the beginning. He is just OK for me. The judges send him to the 6 chair challenge.

USA/Worldwide

Shanaya Atkinson-Jones – Dance With My Father (Luther Vandross)
She is adopted and she is singing this song for her parents. She sounds fine, but I think she doesn’t have much vocal training behind her. Still, she gets a good response from the public. Nicole is in tears. Shanaya advances to the next round.

USA/Worldwide

Jodie Woolcott – Me Too (Meghan Trainor)
We first saw over confident Jodie in the previous round. She is really annoying. And her song choice for this round is just as obnoxious. Sharon calls her performance precocious. The judges send Jodie home.

Alisah Bonaobra – Defying Gravity (from Wicked)
After the previous round, this is her last chance. Alisah sings with the experience of a talent show veteran. Her voice goes on for days. The audience goes crazy. Simon is feigning surprise. Alisah was in tears the day before because he dismissed her unfairly! The audience chants: “Send her through!” She IS through to the next round.
