The final episode of auditions!

The X Factor airs tonight at 8:00pm BST (9:00pm CEST, 3:00pm EDT, 12:00pm PDT) on ITV 1 (90min). The Xtra Factor starts at 9:30pm BST on ITV 2 (60min).


How to watch X Factor UK from outside the UK?

You can watch X Factor live, online. ITV streams the show through the ITV Player. However, ITV blocks viewers from outside of the UK. To get around that, you need to use VPN connection. If Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is your preferred browser, install ZenMate or Hola extensions and set them to UK server. Then open the ITV Player and pick the right channel. The player will ask you for a ZIP code Find an active UK ZIP code HERE. Don’t let the browser send any information about your location. You can also try to find a working ITV stream on MyiPlayer.com, TVPC.com or FilmON.com.

An icy reception! The X Factor’s Simon Cowell and Nick Grimshaw douse Rita Ora in ice cream during contestant Andy Taylor’s performance
It’s going to be war between the judges on Saturday night’s The X Factor – one that involves copious amounts of ice cream.

The upcoming episode will see ice-cream salesman and aspiring singer Andy Taylor serve up mentors Simon Cowell, Rita Ora, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw some scrumptious vanilla cones, though the sweet treat soon sparks battle.

Speaking to Taylor’s family backstage host Olly Murs tells them: ‘Great thing he’s done that… sweeten them up.’

Megan Dallas – 24 year old accountant and part-time singer from Basildon
She performs TLC’s “Waterfalls” . She is cute, but technically she isn’t great. She gets 4 YESes.

Kerrie-Anne Phillips – 28 year old from London, was a teacher and part time singer in Dubai. She gave up her job to audition for the show.
She performs Rihanna’s “We Found Love”. 4 YESes

Lucy Duffield – 26 year old sales assistant and part time singer from Essex. She used to be in a female duo War of Words that once performed on Nick Grimshaw’s radio show.
She starts with Alicia Keys’s “If I Ain’t Got You”. Deep voice. Simon asks her to do Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” acapella. She has a great range. 4 YESes.

Time for some couples.

Nige and Kay – Kay Wilson (26) and Nige Wilson (44), husband and wife from Northamptonshire.
They sing Olly Murs’ and Demi Lovato’s hit “Up”. Olly is loving it. 4 YESes

Louel – Louis Crisp (19) and Ellen Chetcuti (19), friends and University students from Newcastle
They sing Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time”. 4 YESes

The Shures – Chris Kennedy (28) and Gabriel Cabrera (32), married gay couple from Milton Keynes, met on a karaoke website. They sing Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do”. Simon looks very serious. Cheryl thinks it was very authentic. Simon thinks Gabriel is the better singer. 4 YESes.

Andy Taylor – 34 year old ice cream man from Wakefield. He brings some ice cream for the judges and then performs Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up And Dance”. The judges start an ice cream fight. The singing is just so-so. 4 YESes from the naughty judges. They leave to change.

Anton Banaghan – 21 year old, originally from Romania, moved to Ireland with his adopted family. He started singing just 3 years ago.
He sings George Ezra’s “Budapest”. Well, that was … interesting. Simon think it was a little bit “limp”. In the end he still says YES. 4 YESes.

DTOUR – Christian Jules (29), Nico-Paul Rooney (23), Solomon Henry (22), Michael Perez (21), Naasson Swan (20) and Elias Hendricks (28)
They describe themselves as a mixture of Boys II Men and One Direction. They were put together by their managers.
They perform Chris Bron’s “She Ain’t You”. The backing track is too loud and it’s a mess. One of the managers joins them on stage and starts singing, she wants another chance for the boys- Cringe worthy situation Now they sing acapella “See You Again”. They are just not ready yet. 4 NOs.

Chase Mystery – 18 year old from Romford
He sings Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel”. It’s a NO.

Ollie Marland – 20 year old ex footballer and full-time singer from London, has 100K Twitter followers and over 250K likes on FB. He sings “Wham’s “I’m Your Man”. 3 YESes.

Joseph McCaul – 27 year old singer from Ireland. He got to audition stage in 2012. Previously he and his sister very unsuccessfully represented Ireland at Eurovision.

He attempts Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come”. Simon thinks his song choice was too obvious and that he has no performance skills … To be honest, that song was just too big for him. He returns with Whitney’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” acapella. This is good enough. 3 YESes. I’m sure we won’t see him again.

Tori V Musekiwa – 44 years old travel agent
Murders Whitney’s “All the Man I Need”.

Unit X – Jacqueline Uzoiqwe (21), Andra Massiah (17) and Malika Rumble (18) from London
They perform Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts”. Terrible. 4 NOs. “Could be the most miserable group We’ve ever had.” says Simon.

Menn On Point – Reggie(31) and Bollie (29), friends from Ghana.
They perform their original song “Turn It Up”. They are entertainers! The song sounds ready to be released. 4 YESes

Sherilyn Hamilton Shaw – 40 year old mum of three and charity owner from Wales. She stopped singing 10 years ago when her husband suffered a serious accident that left him paralysed for 6 months. Ahh, they saved the big sob story for the final audition.
She sings Whitney’s “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength”. Cheryl gets emotional. Simon is realistic: “It wasn’t the best vocal.” 3 YESes (Rita isn’t absent.)

This is it. Bootcamp starts tomorrow. We get a montage of all the great auditions. The judges sit into their cars …

180 acts made it to the next stage that will take place in a mansion.

‘We’ve got to ban that song’: Cheryl breaks down on X Factor during mother-of-three Sherilyn Hamilton-Shaw’s performance of emotional Whitney Houston ballad
She famously had a tough time after the breakdown of her first marriage to Ashley Cole in 2010.

And the memories appeared to all come flooding back for Cheryl Fernandez-Versini during Saturday night’s episode of The X Factor when she dissolved into tears during Welsh mother-of-three Sherilyn Hamilton-Shaw’s rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.

The 32-year-old judge was overcome with emotion after hearing 40-year old Sherilyn’s heartbreaking story about giving up her musical ambitions to support her husband after he was paralysed during an accident at work.

The X Factor judges were feeling the love on Saturday evening as a string of couples auditioned for the ITV singing competition.

But no one made quite as big an impact as same sex partners Chris and Gabriel, aka The Shures, who reduced Rita Ora, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw and even Simon Cowell to a soppy mess.

The married couple wowed the 5000-strong crowd with a romantic rendition of Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do, drawing tears from Rita who declared they were an example to everyone.
