The four lads do impressions of another and answer fan questions from everything from how many press ups they can do, what Hogwarts house they would be in, and who has changed the most since their break. Due to doctor’s orders, Harry Styles does not speak throughout the whole interview but communicates through a text-to-speech phone app with which they all have a little fun.

‘Everyone writes from personal experience’: One Direction’s Harry Styles hints new song Perfect is about ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift
His ex-girlfriend has a penchant for discussing her former flames in her music, famously penning singles Style and Out Of The Woods following their short-lived romance.

And now, Harry Styles has dropped a major hint that his latest One Direction track, Perfect, is about former flame Taylor Swift.

But before they go their separate ways, One Direction made sure they stopped by The Ellen Show to play a round of Never Have I Ever on Wednesday.

And while each band member – Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles – were faced with some seriously awkward questions, it was Harry who really had a rough ride with his ‘honest’ answers.

Zayn Malik’s Next Direction
As part of one of the world’s biggest bands, Zayn Malik’s reality was shaped by other people’s fantasies. Now, in his first major interview since quitting, he explains why he left and who he is now.

Googling “Zayn Malik’s house” brings up dozens of blog posts that show you what it looks like: a big white box with chrome accents evoking Miami Beach, even though it’s just down the road from a 12th-century church in a bedroom community north of London where, more than a young pop phenomenon, you’d expect to find the family of a middle manager in finance gathered around the TV watching The X Factor.

Zayn, 22, just returned to the United Kingdom after three months in Los Angeles, and as he sleeps off jet lag into the late afternoon, I wander around his gated property. In the driveway he’s collected all kinds of things with wheels: two big dirt bikes and a miniature one, a go kart adorned with a Z in the style of the Superman logo, a vintage Mini Cooper, and a few cars that are simply old, which he has spray-painted all over with lime green doodles. Street art, as any fan knows, is one of Zayn’s passions, and he has a room inside where he’s painted over every available surface.

Little Mix’s ‘Black Magic’ has won the 2015 Twenty Quid Music Prize
For the second year running, a Little Mix single – in this case ‘Black Magic’ – has been ‘honoured’ as the best British pop single of the last twelve months.

Congratulations to them.

In a typically shouty, drunken and mildly aggressive democratic voting shambles in a London pub, Little Mix beat off Becky Hill’s ‘Losing’ and Foxes’ ‘Body Talk’ to win twenty pounds (cash).

As you well know, ‘Black Magic’ ‘peaked’ at Number One in the UK for three weeks earlier this year and features the best use of “hey!” in a song since that last one.

’A girl will win this year’
Big voices, big talent… big trouble? We meet The X Factor girls, and it’s all a little bit, er, tense

One by one, The X Factor girls troop into our studio, not exactly brimming with the enthusiasm you might expect from three people supposedly living their lifelong dream. They seem tired and run-down – Monica Michael in particular looks like she’d rather be anywhere else. Oh dear.

The girls voice various concerns over, well, pretty much everything. The styling, hair and make-up are all questioned, and emotions – already fragile from fatigue and the pressure of the competition – occasionally spill over. However, fuelled by strong coffee and a hearty brunch, Monica, 26 – who was eliminated from the show last weekend – Lauren Murray, 25, and Louisa Johnson, 17, begin to warm up. And once they see the gorgeous shots on the screen, the mood decidedly brightens.

Maybe it’s not surprising that things can get fraught. This series has been especially brutal, with contestants being put through the wringer during the six-chair challenges, the live judges’ houses and shock double eliminations.

Yet despite the barrage of criticism The X Factor has faced amid falling ratings and constant format-tinkering, it’s still grabbing the headlines. And with the likes of Rita Ora’s girls and Ché Chesterman, 19, from Nick Grimshaw’s boys, it looks to have uncovered some genuinely exciting new talent.

The heartbreak proved so severe for the 25-year-old singing hopeful that she was admitted into a psychiatric unit shortly after his passing, confessing that she was in a ‘bad state’.

Lauren Murray says X Factor was like ‘Big Brother meets Glee meets prison’
“The camera is there when you wake up, it’s there when you go to sleep. I felt like I could never relax. It’s intense”

Now the singer, 26, has moved out of the North London mansion because the show’s cameras got too much for her.

“I found the filming the hardest to deal with,” Lauren admitted when she and Louisa Johnson came into our offices to chat to 3am yesterday.

“The camera is there when you wake up, it’s there when you go to sleep. I felt like I could never relax. It’s intense.”
