Battle of the divas! Misha B is saved in X Factor bottom two as Kitty Brucknell is sent home, while returning reject Amelia survives
If The X Factor was judged on voice alone, they would probably be the last two standing.

But Misha B and Kitty Brucknell landed in the bottom two tonight; largely down to personalities rather than performance.

Brucknell, 26, suffered from the start of the competition, failing to ‘connect’ with the public and despite her unarguably incredible vocals, she was finally sent home from the competition.

X Factor ‘fix’ fear after Amelia is announced the winner an hour earlier than voting had closed
Another blunder by ITV bosses led to speculation that the broadcaster had fixed the vote to decide which one of four X Factor rejects would win the right to return to the programme.

Amelia Lily was announced as the winner of the public vote an hour before phone lines closed.

Fans took to Twitter after they spotted a video on the website of Scottish ITV (STV) which they believed showed Amelia Lily, 17, had won the public vote even though fans were still being urged to pay for telephone votes.

Did copper cable thieves blackout the X Factor for 16 minutes? ITV claim ‘technical difficulties’ delayed live show
The X Factor was plunged into chaos last night after a technical failure forced the show off air for 16 minutes.

The blackout caused rampant speculation amid the show’s millions of fans – with some suggesting that thieves had stolen copper cable from the BT Tower, which is a vital relay station for TV signals.

Now Simon Cowell begs Cheryl Cole to make dramatic return to save X Factor
Simon Cowell has been in talks with Cheryl Cole to get her to return to The X Factor.

The TV mogul reached out to Cheryl – whom he sacked from the U.S. X Factor earlier this year – two weeks ago when judge Kelly Rowland fell ill halfway through the series and had to pull out.

Kelly has since returned to the show but ratings have continued to decline – dropping by 2.5million viewers compared with last year.

In a move to boost ratings, Cowell is to return to the UK this week for talks with all the judges and contestants – and to try to convince Cheryl to return to the show.

An insider said Simon has made 28-year-old Cheryl an offer ‘she can’t refuse’ – although she has yet to make her decision.

As the remaining seven contestants battle for survival, three X Factor graduates prove there is life after the show – even without winning.

Reality stars Cher Lloyd, JLS and Jedward performed at the Cheerios Childline Concert in Dublin, despite none of them coming first in the show.

All three acts have gone on to have successful careers, after Lloyd came fourth in the competition, JLS finished behind Alexandra Burke in second place and the twins ended up in sixth position.

Susan Boyle Rewrites UK Chart History
Record breaking Susan Boyle has made UK music history again by becoming the first female artist ever to have three successive albums debut at No.1 in the UK album chart in less than two years.

No other female solo singer in the 65 year history of the Official UK charts has achieved this in the first week of the albums being released.

The highly anticipated album Someone To Watch Over Me from international singing sensation Susan Boyle stormed to the number one spot in the Official UK chart again.

In 2009 the Britain’s Got Talent star’s debut album I Dreamed a Dream became the biggest selling album in the world and fastest selling album in the history of the charts – selling over 10 million copies – and breaking all pre-order sales records on Amazon. In 2010 Susan Boyle became the only solo artist in history to have the double no.1 album spot in the US and UK, twice in less than 12 months with her album The Gift as well as being the fastest selling Christmas album.

Simon Cowell said; “I’m absolutely delighted for Susan. She’s a total superstar and I’m incredibly proud of her.”

Susan Boyle said; “This is fantastic news!! I am delighted, excited and overwhelmed. I want to say a very big thank you to all those who helped make this possible. I never thought anything like this would happen when I started back in 2009. One thing is for sure I’ll be cracking open the champagne tonight and celebrating. This is just wonderful. Wow!”
